The night shirt that I used to wear every night because it was the only one big enough to feel comfortable, now fits like a dress it's so long.11

After pilates this morning, a young woman stopped me and said,” I was watching you and you were good!” I mumbled an embarrassed “thanks”, and started to walk out the door.
But then I turned around and told her”You don’t know me, but six months ago, I was sixty pounds heavier. You just made my day!” And after I thought another second, I grabbed and shook her hand and said,”I just want to tell you....SQUEEEE!!!!!!”
She just made my day after an off track week, and I could tell I made hers by my reaction.25 -
So, I passed the course and I am now a qualified bike ride leader. Just need to pass a first aid course and I'll be able to take people out on rides.
Am I excited? You bet. Improving the health of the nation, one bike ride at a time . . . hoping to get families involved - start 'em young, that's the best time to install good habits.26 -
I actively avoided alcohol at a show with friends. Not much of a big deal but I tend to be a social drinker and everyone else around me was drinking. I stuck to my water and woke up ready to go to the gym today!27

Ran 5 miles today - my longest run since starting C25k in January23

Took my husband on a dinner and climbing date last night. So nice to have active pastime to share! Nsv itself, but had a few during the evening.
I have been reading training to climb books and boring him to death with them. Well, I got to show off my knowledge! I generally consider myself a solid 5.9 climber—I can complete most routes the first time, without falling or taking a break, but not with maximum efficiency. I don’t push for harder routes bc I know I need to work on technique a lot more & that it will serve me better in the long run to do it right but slow. Hubs is the opposite—always pushing.
Anyway, I tried a new 5.9 route and it was very different from my normal routes—little pulling with the arms and more pushing/balance shifting with both legs and arms. I did it and it felt great! After I pulled my hamstring bouldering (really? I manage to pull my hamstring climbing 🙄) I came back and did it again, easily. Hubs decided to try it and he was DYING—he attacked it very differently (trying to muscle through pulls that just weren’t there), and came down covered in sweat.
I was up for a few more routes and was pleasantly surprised I am starting to “see” what foot placements I should expect with certain hand placements—as a totally non-visual/spatial person, this is so exciting!!
So after rolling his eyes at my extended warm up of multiple easy routes and my references to the climbing bible, when I was good to go for a number of routes after he was finished (limping to them with my pulled hamstring), he agreed that maybe there was some method to my madness

Good for you! I've started a "just one" policy with some gym buddies. We sometimes go for beer(s) after a workout. I tell them "just one" for me. There's a little good natured ribbing when I leave after one, and that's okay.12 -
My sister (we are both 5’ 1”) quit smoking and lost 42 pounds in the last 2 years. We are now the exact same weight! I am soooo proud of her. Going to take her skiing tomorrow and she will be able to use her new fitness to fly!33

This morning I started week 8 of c25k (the final week!) 28 minutes of jogging. At around the 8 minutes left mark I got a stitch, I just slowed down a little and kept on going. It's hard to believe that come Friday I will have completed the whole thing. I have started c25k so many times over my life, I'm just so proud that I've stuck with it this time around and will be soon jogging for 30 minutes each morning 😁
I enjoyed my weekend of barrel racing. Our first round was far from our best run, but we managed to tidy it up for the 2nd round to end up in the bottom of the 2nd division. 2D is where I want to be so I'm happy with that.
I got a few compliments about my weight over the weekend. The best one coming from my friend who doesn't pay a lot of compliments out, saying that she was so happy to see my hard work paying off, she has seen me working for years and said it was about time it started going my way. I couldn't stop grinning after that one.
Another friend tagged me in a photo from the weekend and I actually had to take a second look. I knew I had lost weight, I can see it in the mirror and even in my progress selfies I take, but somehow seeing this photo was different. It just cemented in my mind that yes, you can tell I've lost weight, no, people aren't just pulling my leg when they mention it, I'm not imagining it in the mirror and in my photos and no, the scales aren't lying to me! Speaking of scales- they only went slightly up this morning from Friday- 92.75 this morning and 92.2 on Friday, I expected a gain after my few indulgences over the weekend, so I'm happy it's only a small increase 😁12 -
I notice when shopping, I am more and more often skipping the motorized cart and relying on my cane or the regular push cart to balance me. Also, my bedtime blood glucose tonight was 147. I used to be doing good to see that number in the mornings.34

I started on WW exactly 6 months ago this coming Saturday. I'm 3.4 pounds away from hitting the 100 lb down mark.
But even cooler this morning was the realization that I was on the last notch of what will be the third belt I've gotten too small for since I started. This was in addition to realizing this weekend that I needed to go down another size in shirts again and that the size pants I could squeeze into was the same size I was wearing when I graduated high school.
Unfortunately I was struggling with my weight then as well so I still easily have another 100+ pounds to go but it's going to be really cool to start wading into totally uncharted territory for me personally in terms of my size.24 -

I only took about 3 bites of the younger boys’ ice cream, so NSV there too
they’re excited to try a slightly longer ride to the baseball fields, with a goal of working up to the 3.6 m each way trip to their best friends’ house. Love seeing them tackle with ease something that last year seemed impossible, and make plans for harder goals. 5 yo is eyeing his older brother’s bike and wanting to finally be confident without training wheels. Pretty sure the 3 yo just wants the bike trailer to himself to eat snacks in, but hey, they’ve all got goals.
ETA: I can see the gigantisizing of America at work in this shave ice shop. EVERYTHING is huge. There are no kid’s sizes. The smallest cup is what would have been an adult medium when I was a kid. Mine shared two to a cup, but still...nothing smaller??? It would have taken gargantuan will power to eat half of that “small” and throw the rest away (not going to bike it home).
I agree about the supersizing of American portions. I am grateful that my local ice cream shop offered offers a teeny tiny size. I always ask for a taster spoon to go with it.6 -
Yesterday I tied a necktie I hadn't worn in a few months. I can usually tie all my ties perfectly the first time around. I just kind of know where the long and short ends should go. Well I tied it long. After feeling off my tie game, I realized that I would have tied it perfectly a few months ago, but the tie doesn't have to go as long to reach my belt buckle because there is less belly it has to cover.24

A little TMI... Started exercising again after a long time so anticipating the need for a sport bra, which I do not have, I found a much smaller regular bra in my dresser to use, figuring it would be tight and serve the purpose. Turned out it fit me better than the large one I was presently wearing. FOUR inches smaller! Woo Hoo.21

I bought a bike this weekend! And I asked the salesman if it had a weight restriction or limit, and he looked me up and down and said, "You won't have to worry about it." The manual says 300lbs, which is where I was last year. Almost at 50 lbs gone, and I'm SOO looking forward to riding my bike to work and on the trails we have.27

A few minutes ago, a co-worker asked if I’ve lost weight. She said she could see it in my face. 🙂18

My jeans kept falling off, so instead of buying a belt, I tried on my older, smaller jeans and they fit! 2 sizes down!18

I love reading these and come back to this thread often. I do wonder why ALL of us seem to have that pair of jeans, dress, shorts, t-shirt, etc that hasn't fit in a long time but we keep it anyway. There is something a little magical about trying it on one more time before it's being donated and WOOHOO it fits. The last time you tried it was sad and you just folded it up and but it back but this time- this time it fits. Magic we make for ourselves is the best kind.18

I found 2 cute spring dresses at dollar store, in between sizes, one a little big, the other fitted tight so they were cheap, I bought both, neat being able to wear both, if I want one loose fitting or for church and the other when we go out this summer to fairs, or whatever. I suddenly like to shop after 30 lb loss.11

Just talked myself down off the ledge from a pointless pancake binge.. i started making them and was about to put myself well over my calorie goal for no reason
I literally had to talk to myself "why are you doing this? " "you're not even hungry at this minute" "they don't even taste that good" "why are you doing this to yourself when you've already messed up the past few days- do you want to undo all the work you did last year? "
Ugh threw one in the bin and put the pan away. This is why I don't keep flour in the house- I only bought it to make something particular for my husband last week but the pancake making and scoffing is an old bad boredom binge eating habit from when I was a teenager. Luckily it's plain flour so they haven't been tasting that great.
Sorry for the long post just so glad I stopped myself this evening..50 -

I did pull-ups and dips with an assist of LESS than half my body weight today.18

I appear to be between sizes again depending on the brand - this time it's a medium and small. I don't know whether to be happy or to be mildly grumpy because I'm perfectly fine wearing mediums (my BMI still classes me at overweight at 27.7) and now I need to go exchange one of the t-shirts I bought today.8

I'm so pleased that after 30 years I am starting to buy clothes that aren't labeled as plus size!34

I have this one form fitting dress in my closet that I haven’t worn in a few months—it has a high neckline and sleeves, so I can wear it to church, but haven’t bc it had moved from “tailored” to “indecently tight”. Put it on this Sunday and I had a little room to spare in the hips/belly! Even though the scale has stayed pretty stable, even a pound or so up, it didn’t feel like the straight jacket I remember....guess upping my lifting has had some effect!20

I was going to have a planned treat day at the parents' house on Sunday. Blew a tire on my car Saturday night. Almost asked for a ride, but then realized the only reason I wanted to come over was for food, and it's a pain to get a ride, so I decided to not go over. I visit my parents every weekend, so it wasn't like I was missing out on a special day or anything, lol.13

Speaking as a parent, with grown children, any day you get to see your children is a special day. I haven't seen mine since Christmas.28

I was out in the woods doing a compass exercise with search and rescue this weekend, and we had to get up to the top of a bluff to find our flag point. I hit a rocky point and could only find hand holds at around chest height, and had to haul my body weight plus pack weight up until I could get a knee onto one of those hand hold spots.
I was amazed. I only recently got back into weight training, and I would not have been able to do that 2 months ago.
I feel so strong!21
