Trying ONCE again!!

I have tried (dabbled) in everything from WW to South Beach Diet. I never seem to be able to stay on track. I start off strong and then stop following through. I'm very bad at tracking my foods as well. I just turned 50 and I'm scared that if I don't get into shape now - I'll not enjoy my retirement phase in life. I'm going to start weight training and simple cardio. Any advise would be helpful!
