04/29 – 159.6 – Not a great day calorie-wise but still under maintenance. Reminded that it’s worth it to log all those “bad” calories because while you may be over your goal, you may still be under maintenance. Logging keeps me from the “I’m over so I might as well eat junk” attitude that actually sinks me.

@wellnfree So very very true on the logging. I log every single morsel, even the sinful ones. I have only done so because I am committed to it as it's part of my promise to myself & part of my overall plan & journey for sure! However, I will also begin keeping in mind that even after a those fail I may still be under maintenance . Perhaps this will help the binge cycles I sometimes get on. Thanks a bunch for sharing. I know it will help me & others.

Back for another round! Last round I ended with a slight gain, but I had a 5 day vacation, Easter weekend, and a family death that all happened in that round. Lots of eating out, stress, and family to deal with. So I was pretty happy that I was only up a couple of pounds and that I was able to pretty much maintain through all of that. I usually don't set goals for myself during these rounds, I just try and do my best and see what I can accomplish, but I will be setting 2 this round. I want to see a 146 something and I do not want to see a 150 anything on the scale the entire time. Good luck everyone!

04/23 - 149.4 nice drop of water weight to start the round. Water and food were both good all day and I am already on track for today. Would love to see a new low this week, so working hard and trying to stay in a deficit most of the week. At least Mon-Fri.
04/24 - 148.1 Back to where I was before I left on vacation and my Easter weekend took over. This was my lowest weight hit in round 73, so hoping to beat that in the next couple of days. I am also really close to hitting my next milestone on my happy scale app. Water and food are set for today and on track so far!
04/25 - 148.1 same as yesterday so I will take it. I had a beer and 3 shots last night with dinner, but ate light all day. I don't have a problem stress eating as much as I do with stress drinking. This month has just been so stressful all the way around. Yesterday my Senior and Junior in high school found out 1 of their friends (17 years old) committed suicide. That was after we found out my middle schooler (my autistic child) got into a fight at school. He had been doing so well and making really great progress, it just really hit me as a step back. So while cooking and eating dinner my husband and I had a couple of drinks. I had been doing so good, but knowing we have to go to this funeral on Saturday for my husbands grandma and now all of this I needed a drink, lol! Back on the wagon today. Meals are prepped, water is next to me, and I will not have any alcohol tonight.
04/26 - 147.6 I hit another milestone on my happy scale app today! Finally moving in the right direction after stalling for so many weeks. The weekend is here though and that is my downfall, so hoping I can stay on track.
04/27 - 147.7 same as yesterday. We had my DH grandmas funeral today, so it was not a great day. Just got home and I am headed to bed. Only ate 1 real meal, and pretty much drank my lunch. I’m slamming a couple bottles of water before I go to sleep to wash some of the alcohol out of my system. We have to drive about hour and a half out of town tomorrow so that we can spread her ashes. So hopefully I can stay on track better. I don’t think I had many calories, but what I did have was not good calories. We will see I guess.
04/28 - 149.5 totally expected. Lots of alcohol, 2 very restless nights of sleep (today will be closure for everyone), and lots of Mexican food. Chili, cheese, tortillas, chips/salsa, sopapillas, and potatoes, amazing food, but a killer on the scale, lol. I’m just checking in real quick because we are about to leave. We are all meeting at another Mexican restaurant and then driving down to the river to spread her ashes. My goal today is to stay out of the 150’s and I am right on the line, no alcohol (I’m driving) and hopefully make some better food choices. I have not read any updates since Friday, so I will have to catch up on Monday when I get back to work. Hope everyone had great weekends!
04/29 - 149.5 Stayed under 150! I am back at work today and just trying to play catch up on here. You know you have had a couple of busy days, when your happy to be back at work to get some rest,lol. Yesterday we had such an amazing time. The place we went was so beautiful and peaceful that it wasn't sad or depressing at all. The kids were running around in the fields and playing, all of the adults were sitting around talking about old times and eating cheesecake (which I chose not to have a piece and that was hard). For the first time in weeks my hubby and I slept like a babies. It was exactly what we needed to be at peace with this whole situation. I did ok food wise yesterday, pretty much only had 1 real meal and then snacked after we got home, and did not have a drop of alcohol. 3 more days and hoping to end this round at a new low!

I'm lucky that I took early retirement almost 3 years ago; I walk everywhere as long as it's not raining (then the car comes out!!!). I'm also lucky that my DH also loves walking so at weekends we go out into the countryside and walk.5 -
@deepwoodslady Thank you! It has been such a stress reliever to be able to come here and just vent. It actually saved me this weekend from going crazy and eating everything in sight. Knowing that I had to report everyday and even just taking that 4 or 5 minutes for myself to write down my frustrations helped me so much. I appreciate everybody on here. I know you have been going through the same grieving process with your sister and you are in my thoughts and prayers to.
@laurenhugs23 I know exactly what you mean. For some reason even though I have lost 30+ pounds, I still wake up and worry that I am going to see the pudgy Jenn in the mirror. If I go a little crazy I am terrified I have gained all 34 pounds back over night. I am getting better as I do this and am finally starting to understand fluctuations, emotions, carbs, and water intake, but some days are harder than others. I wish I didn't care what the scale said so much.9 -

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

04/23- 165.8 Although it’s a slight uptick from the past 2 days, I am happy with this. It’s my TOM, so I’ll be happy to hang around this weight for a few days. I’m watching my sodium.
04/24- 165.8 I’m good with that. I worked out hard at the gym today, so we’ll see what tomorrow brings. I hate it, but I’m eating some pizza tonight.
04/25- 165.8 Considering I ate pizza last night, I’m happy with this number.
04/26- 165 Heck yes! Was very happy to see this number on the scale this morning. I’m a little afraid of what tomorrow morning will bring, because I ate a heavy meal for dinner tonight.
04/27- 165.4 I’ll take that! Surprised that that it was as low as this. Felt bloated all day today.
04/28- 164.2 Don’t know how that happened, but I’ll take it! So far in this round, my average weight over the past 6 days is 165.3.

04/24- Not my regular routine this week my grandson is not feeling well, but tried my best to get exercise in.
04/25-today it was a 20,041 step day, once a week I can do it averaging 15,000 -16,000 which is really good for me. Drinking lots of water and eating healthy!
04/26-15,000 steps, working on strength training exercises/kettle bell
04/27-Worked on strength and yoga today feel a bad cough coming on.
04/28- Walked every day (3 miles) six weeks so far rain or sun.

04/23 – 202.8 – Gorgeous day! 60 minute walk on a moderately challenging trail, but gardening was limited to 10 minutes of deadheading daffodils before relaxing in the sun. Squeezed in some grocery shopping after the walk and got the dishes done. Not enough sleep last night, so my energy is flagging. Got my water in though. 😊
04/24 – 201.6 – Another beautiful day – blue skies, sunshine, and the lilacs are blooming! Too pretty to stay indoors, so I took the dog for a long walk in the park (75 min, paved trail). Enjoying the last of the daffodils while I deadhead like crazy. Perennials are coming in, but so are the weeds! Rain moves in Thursday evening, so I’ll double down on chores then. Extra water! Good day 😊
04/25 – 201.2 – Walking this morning (45 min before work). Trash goes down tonight, so I’d better get that fridge cleaned! (Got part of this done – threw out the stinky stuff. Then did recycling, composting, and some general straightening for another half hour.) Super salty dinner, so lots of extra water!
04/26 – 201.2 – A break in the rain this morning, so I managed to squeeze in a 65-minute walk and then lunch out with my daughter. The sky opened up 5 minutes after I walked back in the door! Squeezing in an hour of power-cleaning so I can concentrate on the neglected garden this weekend.
04/27 – 201.2 – No walk, but worked in the garden all afternoon pulling weeds, planting summer bulbs, and filling a few hanging baskets to attract the hummingbirds. Feels like I bruised my instep trying to dig out a new bed – should have worn sturdier shoes. Despite 10+ cups of water, I was thirsty all day. Way too much salt this weekend ☹
04/28 – 203 – And there’s that salt ☹ Half hour walk before heading out to a family event. Stayed away from the salty snacks, kept within my calorie allowance, and stuck with sparkling water and green tea. Four more days to go in this challenge – still time to turn this around.
04/29 – 201.6 – And there it goes – well, some of it, at least. Back to my weekday routines, cooking (and seasoning) my own meals. 8+ waters. Chilly 40-min walk in the park before dinner, enjoying the scent of lilacs and freshly mown grass. Busy week ahead and lots of rain in the forecast, so I’ll try to squeeze in the walks when I can. The garden looks pretty good, but my indoor chore list is growing!!!

Was on holiday for the last 2 rounds. In the past this would have meant a gain of 3kg or so. I didn't really try to lose (just did not want to gain) but managed to lose 1.9 kg over the 2 rounds.

04/26 74.3kg 2k run and plank challenge day 5 which I will have to repeat tomorrow as it was a struggle!
04/27 73.0kg I think that is a woosh! But it is probably because I hardly ate yesterday and I feel dehydrated this morning. Day 5 of planks again and push up and squat challenges.
04/28 73.0kg hit my 15 kg {33lbs} loss target yesterday. Spent the weekend partying with my bestie who gets all their calories from alcohol and naturally does OMAD. I'm still on my extended dry January so drank a lot of water!

04/23- 327.8- I have MCAS and woke up in a flair this morning, swollen and rashy, so I’m surprised the scale went down at all, but I’m glad it did.
04/24- 327.8- this is a frustrating moment. I was soooooo good about foods, sodium, getting my water and even walking. I know that it’s fine that the scale doesn’t move but it just feels bad.
04/25- 328.8- if this is some cosmic test, I’m not feeling it. I stayed in my calories, I got my water in. I’m so frustrated and I don’t understand why I’m stuck in this limbo.
04/26- 325.2- yesterday was a bad day, and I went over my calories and had pie so I was sure that today would be an up day on the scale, but no! I am really glad to see the number move back to doing better today!
04/27- 328.2- this is so frustrating. I was so good about my calories and sodium and water, so this is a real downer.

Rozcolemanart, don't give up! You are doing what you are suppose to and it will eventually show on the scale! I know it is frustrating, but if it is really bothering you, take a day or two away from the scale and just concentrate on how your new way of eating and moving makes you feel. This is so much more important for all of us than just the number on the scale. Keep on keeping on and the scale will eventually catch up!9 -

04/25 -- 74.5 kgs I haven't been this heavy since I was pregnant with my daughter, and Im not even sure I was this heavy then. However, I have eaten well so far today, and plan on sticking to this. I CAN DO THIS!!
04/26 – 74.2 Forgot to post today. Did pretty well, ate fairly healthfully and kept to my resolve to have 1 salad a day.
04/27 – 73.9 feeling strong today, but I forgot to bring my breakfast with me to a sporting event for my daughter. I am going to have to see what I can find to eat that wont kill my progress. I am actually liking having a salad everyday. That is not something I thought I would ever say!
04/28 – 73.1kg Did ok yesterday. I ended up eating a nature valley granola bar for breakfast because it was the healthiest thing in the vending machine at the gymnastics gym. It got me through until I got home and could get a healthy lunch in me. I did not end up getting a salad in yesterday, but I did have onions and peppers for lunch and broccolini for dinner, so got some veggies at least. Love the drop today, but considering I had popcorn and wine last night, I am not sure it will stick, but we will see.
04/29 – 73.4kg TOM showed up so I am not surprised by the slight bump.
04/30 – 72.7kg Really like the sight of this, but we will see if it sticks after a bit to much fun last night. However, I didn’t snack while drinking which is a NSV on its own. I also didn’t eat the foods I planned yesterday, and I ended up eating random, but mostly healthy foods, so cross my fingers it won’t bite me tomorrow.
