Successes/struggles: My main success seems to be keeping a consistent (and relatively intense) exercise schedule. My intake is a bit more variable (good days and less good days!) but overall a successful week. And have hit around 2 years in maintenance now so a good milestone.
@kgirlhart thanks for the tip on clothing for running. I ditched the hoodie and have felt so much more comfortable on the last couple of runs!
Have a great week all x10 -

Successes/struggles: Had some stresses at work that made it tough to remember to bring all the food I prepped! Thankfully managed to eat well and at my calorie goal, despite having to spend a bunch on food while downtown 👎😂 Had an amazing weekend at an outdoor hippie festival in the cold muddy outdoors, so it was a challenge to not eat everything at the food trucks! Managed to stay at calorie goal and even got to eat a fried Oreo, which was frickin amazing!10 -

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: My average weight and trending weight have been consistently in the low-middle end of my maintenance range. This week, I did really well with getting a lot of steps in and managed to get 3 days of with 15,000 steps - likely to be 4 days, as I will be walking around a lot today too. I'm still enjoying having some weeks with a deficit and others with a surplus. This week was a surplus week, and I easily fit two dinners out into my weekly calories (one where I even ordered two desserts!) and could still enjoy a reasonable amount of calories the rest of the week.7 -

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: A steady, routine week, still loitering a bit under range. Lots of NSVs/celebrations, though not particularly involving lots of food. In fact, I decided to take a literal victory lap the other day instead of having a food reward. Banking calories for weekends is going well, and I'm glad to have learned that strategy from y'all.

Success/Struggles: My body is FINALLY back into the normal groove following surgery bloat and ovulation water retention. Just in time for my monthly visit next week, better enjoy this week while it lasts. Also just getting back into the groove at the gym, went twice the second half of this week.
Haven't been sleeping well, hoping to get back in the groove for that too. Probably be using some Unisom, I need to get on a better sleep schedule. I may be making a huge change and going back to work and having DH quit and be a full-time parent. It would be a huge change, but I think the routine would help me not hurt me.5 -
I'll bite this month. Not maintaining. Regaining on purpose actually... start the woo's! Lol

Weight: 179.4 as of this a.m. lowest 173.6

Struggles: finding balance in life in general. Getting better. Shoulder a little cranky this week. Had to hold off on high pulls. Look on weaning off copeing mechanisms.
Successes: actually feel 1/2 normal at times! Feel full sometimes! Women are starting to look better than cheeseburgers. Coming to much better terms with weight gains. I am seeing some fat gain, but massive muscle gain. I am continuing to research and learn. Stephan Guyenet's work has been fascinating. Learning to write my own push pull works outs!
Bless y'all!
P.S. my song for the week.

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: It was a fairly quiet week, but my son and family came down on Friday and stayed overnight, so we had meals together. They moved on yesterday afternoon.
Challenge ahead next week. We are away for 7 days – visiting Scotland, travelling by coach and staying in hotels. My plan is to be as active as possible – and watch the portion sizes. Catching the coach this morning, this is a rushed post.
Have a good week everyone!

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: Not happy with my average weight going up for April will need to work on getting it down. My weight is up a pound from last week, which I'm not sure it's fat gain more water weight. I was really extra careful watching what I ate 6 out of the 7 days and banking calories for the 7th day.. That day being my birthday where I did have some alcohol so maybe that is it. Have a great week everyone.8 -
UpdateTMI: skip if you don't want to read, if I only waited a hour to weight myself I went to the bathroom if you get my drift and just for the heck of it weight myself again. I did not have anything to drink or eat before if happened you guessed down to 131.8. I figured head start for next week. LOL:)4

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: I'm working it, albeit less than I'd like. I generally get in 4 to 5 sessions per week, but usually hit 3 to 4. My successes of the week include successfully navigating a day in which I thought I didn't have as much energy as I should and ate to supply that energy, even thought I had to go above my daily calories determined by MFP. Before, I'd have eaten far more than I would have needed, but, this time, I still moderated what I ate, knowing that I needed the extra calories. One more observation: I've been maintaining as long as it took me to gain the wait. Seems momentous10 -

Success of the week: I had a great trip on the Lower Owyhee.
Struggle of the week: I was on a river trip! No real struggles other than dealing with 24 degree mornings (brrr), watching for rattlesnakes (didn't see any -- too cold), and keeping the boat in the right place.
I actually haven't had access to a scale since April 28, so this entry is dubious. That said, my scale weight was exactly the same when I returned. I know I ate a LOT of high calorie food. I also rowed a lot, hiked a fair bit, and generally had to move and go up and down hills a lot just doing in-camp stuff and loading/unloading the rafts.11 -

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: I did much better this week at allocating my calories. Yesterday morning when I woke, I was carrying only 13 calories forward from the week into the weekend. That works perfectly for me, since I'm a weekend exercise warrior, and I typically will expend at least 500-700 calories each, Saturday and Sunday.
🤓 Geek alert: I actually did my spreadsheets last weekend, and had fun with them. While not everyone appreciates the power of a good regression analysis, I do find them invigorating. 🤓 No, I didn't bother doing it myself, I just used Excel's trend line feature. I'm crazy, not stupid. 😜
With my current exercise level I need to be eating around 1500 calories per day (which sounds like a really scary commitment when your BMR is 1080.) I was having a lot of trouble with this, mentally and emotionally, until I found a little trick that works for me. Using my rolling 7-day average from the MFP Nutrition tabs has taken the scare factor from Defcon 5 down to Defcon 1. This way I'm never more than one day "off" on my nutrition. Even if I'm a couch potato today, my rolling average will reflect that tomorrow and I can accommodate it in my eating. Likewise, if it's a beautiful day (and I miraculously have a babysitter), I can spend as long as I like on my bike or walk, and know that I can eat those calories down over the week without freaking out about it. Stress relieved, mind reassured.
Yes, I understand that this is a logical conclusion (and is, in fact, the basic premise of maintenance eating), but I needed to see the numbers. A psychiatrist would probably have a clinical diagnosis for that. 😂
So next challenge: what do I do now that I'm down at the bottom of my maintenance range, move my range? My goal was basically to be within the top half of the normal BMI range. I'm there. I don't really want to allow myself to gain ten pounds; I don't really want to lose more weight. Should I just decrease both the top and bottom end of my maintenance range by five pounds so that my current weight is in the middle?2 -

I'm so jealous, Lesley! I haven't done a lot of motorcoach tours, but Scotland was my favorite. If it's one of the long circle tours, once you get north into the moors make sure that you drink the water. I know it's brown and looks unappetizing, but the brown is from the peat content, and it's absolutely delicious! Extra flavor without calories!
Save at least a little room one evening for haggis and whisky. If I could take the calories for you, I would. It's absolutely worth it, even if you have to walk two extra miles the next day. (Or maybe I'm just weird. 😜 I do like my sausages.)
Stay warm, see everything, and enjoy yourself!2 -

Challenges:
1. Sudden switch of my exercise program - more frequency & difficulty of my wt lifting program & much longer, harder hikes. 9.3 mile hike yesterday with 25K steps.
2. Hotter weather generally makes my wt a little lighter & when it gets cooler in the fall, it tends to drop off
Both of these may be causing water weight increases. I’m taking the long view. Did some calculations over the past week, month, year & I’m likely eating a little bit too much each day.
➡️ Plan is to cut my avg calories by 100 a day & see what happens.
➡️ Will go back to only recording cardio calories, not the wt lifting ones.
Successes:
1. I’m calm. Taking the long view. Many moving variables - May take a few months to figure out.
2. Annual physical. All markers are excellent❣️ Dr. doesn’t think anything needs to change. Approved exercise program with no rest days & continuing daily 10K steps (60 mins minimum daily cardio). Very wonderful visit, as we reviewed each lab value & celebrated the drastic improvements. He convinced me I didn’t need to improve any of them further! 3-1/3 years. Success.
3. Resting heart rate & fitness continuing to improve. Able to climb 2,222 elevation, 9.3 mile, 4hr20min hike without resting or sitting.
4. Purchased & for into jeans an additional size smaller. (31) & another patient at clinic spontaneously said, “Wow, those jeans are awesome! They look great on you!” Three friends who saw me 4-6 weeks ago all independently said, “Wow, you’re looking great!” One even wants to sketch me next time. These compliments are a very new thing for me, and it’s lovely.

@sharondesfor935 Awesome, my friend!
I find having a “Focus on Health” really helps in this weight loss/exercise/maintenance arena.

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: Weight wise everything was good this week. I am down a little from the upswing from my birthday and Easter, but still in nicely in the lower end of my range. I did have some ankle pain while running and went to the doctor this morning and she said it was just mild tendinitis and I should be fine for my Half marathon in two weeks. I did miss my long run yesterday which was kind of hard mentally because the weather was so nice and I really wanted to run. But I figured it was better to be safe than sorry so I got it checked out.8 -

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: I'm slowly working up to maintenance cals, so the last few pounds should come off very slow and I'll be at the top of my range before I know it! I've bumped up my exercise intensity as well. I did a 3 mile ruck, ab/back workouts, and gardening all on Saturday so that I could go on a nice date without having to worry about losing my teeny deficit. I'm looking forward to all of this and to finally being here8 -

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: Dealing with stomach issues unrelated to maintenance but it is frustrating. For the most part I feel great and then I have a really bad stomach day. But it does make me mindful of what I am eating. I did a yoga intensive this weekend (8 hours of yoga spread out over 3 days) and it was wonderful.

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: an ok week with next to nothing for the exercise, as I'm still working on recovery. Minding my snack portions, ample vegetable and fruit intake as usual. Mango season is fast approaching, and i do indulge, thanks to our beautiful mango tree in the backyard, but I'm trying to be reasonable with it (not always successfully).5 -
@sharondesfor935 Hi, I'm midway through the holiday and having a good time. The drive up to Scotland took 2 days with a night in Carlisle, but we are staying in one hotel in Inverness for 5 nights then travelling south again over the weekend. I'm not keen on whisky but have had haggis for breakfast. We have been doing plenty of walking and the hotel has a tiny swimming pool so I have been quite active. No brown water yet!
The hotel dinners have been Ok but very limited veggies. I usually fill up with large portions of low calorie veg so this could be a problem. Fingers crossed for next Monday weigh in.3 -

Success / Struggles: I'm not sure why I took a pause from posting for the last few weeks. I guess I have been preoccupied with other things in my life. Ready to put maintenance on the front burner again! I definitely need to focus on cleaning up my diet. I had lots of candy around Easter, and I notice I've been snacking instead of eating real meals lately.4 -
