Jun challenge
I'm taking my parents shopping and we will be out a lunchtime and I will need to be careful what I choose! I am not sure what the options will be as I don't normally eat in the shopping centre but it's already 11:00. Parents are not ready to leave yet and may want coffee first. We then have half an hour travel and mum has to have half an hour registration/tuition on the mobility scooter I've arranged for her.
We had a successful shopping day with mum getting what she required and me not buying anything! Mum enjoyed the mobility scooter and did not run anyone over despite the number of people more interested in their phone than looking where they were going! We are just learning how many places have mobility scooters for day hire and what a difference it can make for her. She has a disabled parking badge but I don't think anyone told her about finding out about places to visit with mobility scooter hire. She likes her independence and does not like being pushed around in a wheel chair so has avoided going out much as she can't walk very far.3 -
JFT 6/10 Recap:
Make Healthy Choices
4 Veg/2 Fruit
Drink water
30 minutes yoga/strength No, but I may fit it in later. It's been a busy day and I still have two more appts...
Catch up on to do list
5 minute meditation
Not quite the end of the night but I probably won't get back on here. I still may do some yoga later if I can but I'm not going to worry too much about it. I have had a long day and it's not over yet! I've managed to stay within calories and not planning on any snacks or eating anything else today so I'm ok. Tomorrow is another busy day but I'll be able to hit the gym in the afternoon. A little nervous about going out to lunch tomorrow-Cheesecake factory! It's not known for being healthy... But it's a baby shower so I kind of need to. Anyway, hope everyone has a great night.4 -
Good morning all
Confession time: went to the gym as planned last night-great. When I came home I had a healthy dinner and then decided that I had enough calories left to have 12 Peanut M&M’s. Well we all know that is just impossible. I ploughed through half a packet before I made myself sick. I wish I could have vomited
I lectured husband about me being an addict and that he should not bring them in to the house. He certainly should not have made me aware of them.
1. Log everything even the big pig outs
2. Find a way to burn off that extra 500 calories
3. Eat lots of veggies
4. Move on and learn from mistakes
5. Don’t beat myself up. I’m human.

Well, yesterday was a bust diet wise.
We had some amazing news at work. We got a new CEO six months ago and he is an awful man. He's brought about an absolutely toxic culture and lots of people are terrified of him. My boss has come out of meetings with him looking absolutely shaken. It's had a massive effect on everyone as even those who didn't have much contact with him (like me) had to deal with all the bosses who did have to deal with him who were all really stressed out and thus making silly demands themselves.
Anyway - you can probably tell where this is going - yesterday an email went round saying he had 'resigned for personal reasons'..... (just to be clear, this is a cover story!)
This led to about half the company (ok, I'm exaggerating slightly - about 20 of us) heading to the pub to celebrate. Wine was had, and consequently I got the munchies and ate A LOT, including on the go which I try to avoid.
So yes, the diet was a bust. But I'm happy anyway, for several reasons. Firstly, it means the culture is going to improve, pretty much immediately (the lady who has been appointed acting CEO is a good egg and I get on with her) which will make the working environment much more pleasant. Secondly, it means that actually I might consider some of the internal roles that are going to be advertised. Without this news I might not have, as I just wasn't sure about the culture.
But also? It does actually make me feel like, despite what it might seem, people get what they deserve. The last six months had started to make me feel like the people who get rewarded in the workplace are the liers and the blaggers and the bullies, and that people who are nice and work hard and do their job well without boasting or playing games don't do as well. This shows that, well actually that's not always the case. Blaggers and bullies do (sometimes) get their comeuppance. This makes me feel more positive about life in general! (And my prospects in it).
Anyway, on with the day! Today I'm meeting a friend for some drinks but I've decided I won't have alcohol today. I had enough yesterday. I also have decided that I need to come up with some rules for myself in relation to alcohol. I'm much better than I was six months ago - me and the boyfriend don't really drink in the week now - but I still drink too much socially and need to sort that out. For today, I won't have anything at all - I will have a bigger think about 'rules' at the weekend.
Yesterday's commitments:
- Log everything I eat
- Stick to food plan As above...
- Be in the green As above...
- 3+ bottles water

Been a bit poorly last 2 days, i did eat yesterday but by the evening i just seem to stop digesting and then by morning im being sick?
Im starting to feel okay again now but im just gonna rest and just have toast or something today, just plain foods.
So i didnt log yesterday and i cant remember what ive had now anyway.
But im going to log today, so todays goal is just the June Challenge8 -
JFT 10th June
Eat sensibly, no snacks failed miserably on the snacks
Back exercises yes
Make physio appointment (surgery couldn't help, have to phone) yes, 15 minutes on phone!
Visit parents yes
Tidy garden, find somewhere to put tomato plants yes
Housework not nearly enough, did the dishes though!
Big pile of ironing yes, finished
I don't know what I'm going to do with today, I had kept it free for babysitting but that was cancelled last night. I'm on a bit of a downer at the moment (family health issues which I can do nothing about) which was why I ate too many snacks yesterday. I considered going out to the shops today, but my car is low on oil and not sure I should use it when I don't need to.
I'm not in an enthusiastic mood for anything, maybe I should stay at home and do lots of housework
JFT 11th June
Eat sensibly
Look out something for tea
Back exercises
Sort out car
Look out summer clothes/ sandals and see what fits, if I need to buy anything
Lots of housework - "pick it up and put it away"

@nlmackey98 , glad the cake saga came good in the end
@korina75, I didn't know the Cheesecake Factory was a real place, I thought it was made up for a TV show lol.
@daubna08 , what a successful day you had, well done!
@dani_caylor , a great day for you too. I also took "before" photos, wearing jeans and a sweatshirt. I don't look as bad as I should in them, I think I should take some more wearing more revealing clothes lol.
@bookmeister86 , what great news, I would have celebrated too!
@Snowflake1968 , I love your new door! Not what I was imagining at all. Also love the picture on the wall beside the door
I have a working oven, but my son has broken the grill. It still heats but it's hanging down much too low. I still use it occasionally but don't like doing so.5 -

I'll be quick today, briefly met with the roofer yesterday and waiting on his report. He said structurally the roof is fine, it's the pebbling on the shingles that will be an issue, so we will see what exactly the report says.

@littleblackskirt Really? That is too funny! It's a chain restaurant in the states. The food is pretty decent but that's because they load it up with fat, sugar, and unecessary calories. It's such an "american" restaurant that way. No matter what I order I'm going to need to only eat a portion of it. But the cheesecake is pretty good! It's so funny when you are constantly on the go and all of the sudden you have free time. Hope you found something fun and/or productive to do!
@Snowflake1968 The door looks great! Awesome job! You're so handy. And no, sorry, I've got all I can handle with twin 12 year olds... But I bet you'd be a lot more grateful for a new bedroom than my 12 year olds are....
@aubyshortcake Hope it's good news on the roof!1
