2 weeks and 1 day in and down 3 lbs so far. I know I can do this but it’s a big task looking at the large goal so I’m taking smaller goals first. Aiming for the 200 mark.4

Hey everyone! Just one last check in before I leave for Iceland on Thursday. I've already decided I'm not going to try to log anything while traveling. My hope is that all of the walking and outdoor activity will counter any vacation splurges. In addition, food and drinks are really expensive in Iceland, so that should help keep thing in check.
My goal in January was to lose 10 lbs before leaving for the trip. As of today, I've lost 8. Not at my goal, but pretty darn close. My goal when I get back is to lose 10 from here and be at 185 when school starts again in August.
Hope everyone has a wonderful week! I will post some pics when I return next week.

Hi I need to come back and lose the 30 something pounds that seemed to have returned since I left this group. Hopefully I will get back to 250lbs. so my blood sugar levels will come down again. Best wishes for healthy weight loss for this group. You can do it!2

I’m back after trying WW for quite a while, in and out of meetings, paying the monthly fee all along. Have over 100 pounds to lose. Wish me luck!3

Just lost a long post, and i'm too tired to re-type it all.
Here's the short version:
Welcome back, Tom and welcome new people!
Back from Iceland last night--AMAZING trip!
Didn't overdo food and drink.
Lots of exercise + not enough water = bloated from water retention.
Will not weigh in this weekend.
Will share some pics in subsequent posts. More details tomorrow.

Hey guys!
So I got to catch up on some much needed sleep the past couple of days. Got home late Wednesday--well, we landed at 7 pm, but customs was a complete and utter madhouse at ORD--seriously, I've never seen it like that--so it took 2 and a half hours to get through the lines. Made it home about 10 pm, which was actually 3 am for me due to the time change.
The trip was incredible!! We landed Friday morning and went directly to the Blue Lagoon which was just stunningly beautiful. After a few hours there, we went to our hotel in Reykjavik, unpacked, and just walked around a bit until it was time for whale watching. We didn't get to see actual whales, but we did spot some white-nosed dolphins frolicking in the water and a few puffins. Saturday was an all-day Golden Circle tour to see some waterfalls, Geysir, and Thingvellir National Park. Afterwards we went for a nice birthday dinner in Reykjavik. Sunday morning we left for a 2-day tour of the South Coast. Day 1 of this was a lot more waterfalls, black sand beaches, and a glacier lagoon where we saw seals playing in the water. We stayed overnight in a guesthouse, and then we went glacier hiking on Monday. These first 4 days we had unprecedentedly beautiful weather--sunny and mid-60s F or about 18 c--even our guides kept telling us how fortunate we were.
On Tuesday the great weather finally broke and we had some very windy, wet conditions for the first half of our day tour to Snaefellsnes Peninsula. Even with all of our waterproof gear, we were soaked to the skin because the wind forced the rain inside our jackets and pants. The only part of me that stayed dry were my feet. However, even that day turned sunny and gorgeous in the afternoon, and we quickly dried out. Tuesday night we headed to an area where there were a bunch a pubs that stayed open past 11 pm (yes, most close that early), to have one last hoorah before heading home on Wednesday.
Most days I got over 25,000 steps and 100 floors according to my fitbit. Although I didn't log any food, I still checked MFP for my calorie allowance which was well over 3000 most days. That's twice what I normally eat, so I think it's safe to say I stayed below or at least at maintenance. Food was also very expensive, so we tended to eat a lot of the healthy-ish snacks we brought with us throughout the day with a small dinner at the end of the day. Breakfast each morning was cold cuts, toast, hard-boiled eggs, and oatmeal at the hotel buffet.
I had a really hard time keeping up with water intake. I drink so much normally, that my body was really sensitive to the lower intake due to limited access to running water when we were out in the wilderness. The last day was especially tough to find water--most of the bathrooms had flush toilets, but no sinks--just hand sanitizer. By Tuesday night my feet and ankles were really swollen, and even though I drank copious amounts of water on Wednesday (4 bottles during the flight alone!), by the time we landed at ORD, my ankles looked like grapefruits. Just for fun, I weighed myself when I got home and the scale said 206. Thursday morning I was at 202, Friday morning 200, and this morning 198. I'm still a little bit puffy, so I'm guessing my body was holding onto well over 10 pounds of water weight! Yikes!
My favorite part of the entire trip was the glacier hike. Here is a picture of our group--I'm right in the middle, over the right shoulder of the girl in the pink top:
Now that I'm back home, I need to get serious about some landscaping projects. We had a couple of bushes pulled, and I need to replace them with some low-maintenance plants. But first I need to re-define the garden beds and re-do some of the paving stones. I bought most of what I need yesterday and today, so I hope to get started on it tomorrow if the rain holds off.

Hello everyone.... I'm BAAAAAAACK!
Wow @skinnyjeanzbound! What a fabulous trip! I have been out of the loop for a couple of months so it was to catch up on your pre-trip journey. Welcome all the newcomers and hello again to all the regulars and readers. It's such a comfort to go away for a bit and come back to this thread! It's just so nice.
AFM - Still fighting the plateau of months and months... went on vacation to Maui (I'll try and post a pic of me Snuba Diving!)... and went through a short period of losing my mojo. Well, I got so many compliments on my journey from my traveling group on how much I've lost... and I gained so much confidence and energy that I was able to enjoy the physical aspects of the trip (like snorkeling & Snuba) that I decided.... WELL I'm halfway there, it's time to get busy and work on the next 36 to 40 lbs. This weekend was a weekend of picnics and group dinners with lots of dessert temptations (which I gave into). My NSV is that I have not had any alcohol since I got back from Hawaii. I am on Day 18 of AF (Alcohol Free). Please know that this is a part of MY journey and I don't judge anyone who works the calories and macros of wine (or stronger) into their plan. I just KNOW that alcohol really obstructs my progress. I LOVE wine, no doubt... but one glass turns into two... two in to more and bam! the bottle is gone. Then I just say who cares if I eat myself sick... SO NO WINE FOR CYNDY. I am feeling extremely motivated today and hope I can keep it up.
