heaviest was June 16 --153.4...that day I came up with a new plan, and here we are..thank you for this forum! I will achieve my goal and I will maintain it once there.
goal this round; 1.5 lbs less
end goal: 125
GOAL: Be AWARE of my food choices...
WHY ---do I choose what I choose
WHEN --do I choose the food I choose
HOW ---do those choices impact your weight and fitness goals? The understanding of these questions should be enlightening to help me make better future decisions and change patterns of behavior
3rd round for me. This is a great way to keep in touch with others with similar goals. I'm 49 yo female Canadian expat living in Central America. Good luck all for to continuing the journey to all our goals. On 6/25 I decided to give up alcohol for a month, partly to help with weight loss, but who am I kidding...lol I need a etoh break anyways. So, I'm doing my exercise, mindful choices with food, and haven't had etoh in 20 days.

07/12 160.4 - 14,300 No diet change. It is water retention because I am uncomfortably puffy again. Started birth control last week for medical reasons and even though doctor said it wouldn’t affect weight, I have to believe that is where this is coming from. I’m having a few other issues as well. Maybe it is just a transition time - I hope. This stinks! 😔
07/13 160.8 - 14,000
07/14 159.6 - 15,600
07/15 159.0 - 14,100 It seems like I’m just losing at a “normal” rate instead of the fluid going away because I should be down a few pounds. I guess I am just happy to be moving in the right direction and proud to be staying on plan. It has been much harder this week. I’m having insane hunger/cravings.

Round 83 Goals:
- My son's birthday party is at the end of this round! Won't be denying myself birthday cake and other goodies, so I'm not expecting myself to lose at the end of this round. I'd like to hit a new low one day though!
- Keep wearing my HRM to the gym. It's a good motivator, especially in HIIT-style classes.
- Keep up 3 tumblers of water per work day. I usually just don't want to get up to refill my cup, so having this goal and marking it down in my planner every day has helped me to follow through here.
- Prep lunches and simple dinners so that birthday party prep (and this impending Tropical Storm) don't throw me completely off track.

7/15 - 151.0 Just checking in from the weekend, and I obviously need it! I was stuck at home Friday - Sunday because of the Tropical Storm, which turned out to be fine in my area. But it was a long weekend of snacking (out of a combo of boredom and stress), no calorie tracking, and very little movement. Back at work today and didn't meal plan or grocery shop for this week...I'll try to fit that in tomorrow, since I'm going back to the gym tonight.

@maryjaneflora and @Aria603 Welcome to the group!
@jeleeper Congrats on your new 20 year low!!!! WTG!!!!
@Janyee1960 Welcome back!
@KetoShrrl Camping trips, birthdays, vacays. We all encounter the social events that ALWAYS involve food. It's okay to live and enjoy those fun times. Try to be mindful when you can, but enjoy those special moments together. Sometimes it feels like I'm on a surf board in the very wavy ocean. At times I'm riding the waves & winning the battles & having a blast. Other times, I've been dunked in the water. I'm treading, I'm flailing, I'm floating, I'm just trying to keep my head above the water. This is part of surfing. My goal is to just make sure of two things: 1. I don't drown. Even if I've got to dog paddle my way back up, I will never drown (give up). The second thing is that I never stop surfing. I will get back up on that board because surfing (eating healthy) is part of my life. I don't have to be perfect. I will fall at times. I just have to be committed. My advice is to pre-stock your house before you leave so you will be ready to jump right back on the surf board when you get home. Also, take some healthy filling snacks to keep your meals portions small. Otherwise, enjoy the trip & the festivities, just hang on tight to your surf board. It will be okay.
@quiltingjaine Thanks for the support. I will flush, flush, flush today as best as I can. I expect another good day today. Dr. appointment tomorrow is helping to keep me on my toes!8 -
Well, unfortunately I didn't stay on track with my birthday or the entire weekend to be precise. It definitely showed today on the scale, but today is a new day!

07/11 …..196.7….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
07/12 …..196.0 ….. A very nice downward turn. Not much activity yesterday perhaps my body needed the rest. I ate back many of my activity calories eating spaghetti squash casserole which was excellent. Yesterday’s stats: 1546 Calories In / 2213 Calories Out. 49 Net Carbs. 7626 Total Steps & 3.23 Total Miles. 9/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I lost the first two hours when I overslept the night before! Last night I slept 4 hours & 33 minutes. I did outdoor gardening for 63 minutes. Today I will try to up my water & activity level. Good luck everyone on this round. Welcome to all the newbies, we are so glad you’ve joined us!
07/13 …..194.8 ….. Whoosh! Going to the bathroom really helps! A good food day yesterday except I ate a few too many sunflower seed kernals during in-home movie night with my son. I must remember not to eat when watching TV if it’s going to be mindless eating! Also, lots of friendly veggies yesterday but they do add up! So calories & carbs were a bit higher than I planned, but I took a short walk & had a short dance session to help get in a little more movement. I also did moderately paced house cleaning yesterday. Yesterday’s stats: 1640 Calories In / 2444 Calories Out. 43 Net Carbs. 10,285 Total Steps & 4.35 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept a lousy 3 hours & 3 minutes & woke up tired today. I walked for 10 minutes at a moderate pace. I cleaned house & laundry for 90 minutes & I danced for 12 minutes. Sample song “”Miss You” by the Rolling Stones.
07/14 …..198.0 ….. I deserve this in body but not in soul. Binge last night after encountering a problem that I’ve not had before on this journey. While in bed watching TV I smelled a frozen pizza my son was heating in the oven. He eats later than me & normally I am satisfied at that hour & not tempted. Last night, however, a dark shadow overcame me & I was up & running for the kitchen. It turned on to a full-on binge undoing everything I’ve accomplished in the past week. So a new problem (will this happen again?) is turning into a new plan. BEDROOM DOOR SHUT in this very small house so the smells will not affect me. I will just have to get up & down as the cat wants out. I think my counts are pretty accurate as the foods I indulged in were mostly pre-packaged garbage. 2750 Calories In / 2410 Calories Out. 208 Net Carbs. 10,376 Total Steps & 4.39 Total Miles. 12/13 Fitbit Step Hours & I slept 4 hours & 4 minutes. I Took a 13 minute walk (I can’t stray too far from my office when the cabins & rooms are filled for the weekend) & did 45 minutes of yardwork & transplanting. I will be working hard today, as is typical after Sunday check-outs. I will try to burn extra calories & be extra mindful of my diet today. My Dr. appointment is Tuesday & this could not have happened at a worse time! As a business owner & manager, a mother of 4 and a grandmother of 5 I would like to think that I’m a disciplined and in-control person. Not last night. Last night I was “only human”. Better today, I promise! You guys deserve for me to be working as hard at is as you are. One day at a time….so today, I’m going through this with you all!
07/15 …..195.8 ….. A nice drop back down, but still a pound up before the pizza. However, I know I am the sum of ALL my parts, not just the weak ones! Yesterday was a great day. I grilled a huge portabella mushroom again but this time I cleaned it out and filled it with omelet food. 2 eggs, sautéed onion & green pepper, 1 slice of bacon crumbled and I shredded cheddar cheese (1/2 oz) off my block. I baked mushroom first then filled. I also added a few crushed red pepper seeds to the mix. I could have added a dash of hot sauce but was out of it. So delicious! When my oldest DD teaches me to get photos off my phone I will add pics someday! Yesterday’s stats: 1254 Calories In / 2742 Calories Out. 23 Net Carbs. 16,127 Total Steps & 6.82 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 6 hours & 43 minutes which is UNHEARD OF for me! I did rigorous cabin cleaning for 92 minutes after check-outs & I took a 34 minute very brisk walk to offset that pizza from Saturday night. Raining & storming today. All my activity will have to be inside unless something gives.

07/21 …..xxxxx ….. My oldest DGS’s 13th birthday. A teenager! Big party including BBQ at the lake. My beginning weigh-in next round will likely be up. I also have some travel next round for business. I hate when I have to spend an entire round catching up on the scale, and with travel expected, catching up may be very difficult. Keeping my chin up. I will make more small changes on the days at home to mitigate the damage! That’s the plan!

OSW 382.0

My goal for this round is to get out of the 310s and stay on track with my food and fitness plans.
07/12 312.0 I’m happy that I’m not up from all the activity yesterday. I did 2 sets of a bodyweight workout minus planks and I got in 10k steps. I’m feeling it all today so I’m going to take it easy today. My nsv was hitting 10k steps!
07/13 311.2 I’m still feeling the other day and I’m having a flare up of my MS. I have a plan in place and I’m not going to use it as an excuse to sit around and eat. I’m going to try to do little bits of activity as I can throughout the day.
07/14 311.6 I managed strength training yesterday and I was a bit high in sodium and carbs, plus a little later of a night and then earlier morning.
07/15 310.4 I got in decent steps yesterday by doing several short walks as I felt like I could. I’m having to use my cane, but I’m not beating myself up about it. I have a plan in place for the next week because we’ll be at about 100 before any heat index, which usually brings it up around 105-110. I hope to get a few walks today because the weather is going to be nice.

These challenges seem to go by so quick sometimes. This round ends on a Sunday so I am going to do my best to be good that weekend. My only goal this round is to see a 144.xx and to get to into a “healthy” BMI range. We will see if I can do it, the last round I pretty much just maintained and didn’t ever see that new low I was looking for. So I am ready this round for it!
Round 80: 148.7 - 148.0 (10 day Avg 147.22)
Round 81: 148.0 - 146.5 (10 day Avg 147.87)
Round 82: 146.5 - 146.3 (10 day Avg 146.93)
07/12 - 144.6 A NEW LOW!!!!! I can't believe I hit my goal for this round already. 1.3 pound loss from last week. 1.6 more pounds and I will be out of the over weight category and I will be at the tip top of my maintenance. I will also officially be in the last 5 pounds of my journey. I have stayed strong this whole week and was expecting a loss, but I usually lose a half a pound at a time, so if I see an uptick tomorrow I would not be surprised or mad. It's a nice way to go into the weekend and hopefully keep me on track.
07/13 - 144.6 same so I’ll take it and run! Starting the weekend out stressful and busy. My oldest had to move back in with us last night. His living situation did not work out. His little heart is broken and my heart hurts for him. That first breakup is just horrible and I can remember mine like yesterday. He will be ok, but having a kid move back in after being out for a year and half is rough. Plus he is an adult now and in a completely different place than where he was at 18 when he moved out. Have lots to do to help him and get organized, so will be busy and eating on the run probably a lot this weekend. I’m going to try and stay on track and have a really strong weigh in on Monday.
07/14 - 146.8 didn't have time to check in but did weigh
07/15 - 150.5 Extremely busy and stressful weekend. My husband's company party was yesterday (last thing I wanted to deal with), but we went. We walked the zoo for hours in 100 degree weather and I only ate one meal. Saturday and Sunday my sodium and carbs levels were doubled what I usually eat and I haven't slept well in 2 nights. Last night was another horrible, restless night. I just couldn't get comfortable or turn my brain off. Calories were good, about 100-150 over each day, so I know this weight will fall off in a day or 2. I just get so frustrated that my body can gain 5.9 pounds in 48 hours. Going to move my son out of his condo tonight and put everything into storage, but hopefully will be able to sleep better once that is done. He needs to put closure on that situation and move on. On top of everything else happening, we are having new windows installed in the entire house today and tomorrow. So we spent the morning getting ready and moving furniture for that. Hopefully I will be down tomorrow. I am drinking plenty of water today and have my day planned for food.

07/15- DNW - Not sure what my weight has been these past few days. I've been at my boyfriend's house and his scale is wack so I don't trust it. Did a lot of walking at the OC Fair on Saturday, but had fried things so hope I didn't gain back all that weight I lost last round. Also had some more sugary things which I'm regretting. Today's lunch is going to be a poke salad and half a Trader Joe's chicken wrap. I've been dealing with a horrible migraine since yesterday that isn't going away so I feel like crap. And I have a dental apt today so that's going to sucks too

Hi Jacci from Ohio! Impressed with your perseverance and maintenance. Since I am only a few years older than you and at a similar height and starting weight, I'm wondering what plan (if any) you followed? I'd be happy to see 160 again and thrilled to hit 150. 07/12 – 141.5 – Great start for the weekend. Our city is having an Italian Festival right outside my office door. I ate half a Stromboli for lunch yesterday and had a small salad at home for supper to compensate for the extra calories. Our grandson is spending the night tonight and he will want Chinese food, so no Italian for me today. I’m just realizing that after over a year of watching calories, these food decisions are starting to become second nature to me.
07/13 - 142 – Not unexpected due to the sodium in the Chinese food.
07/14 – 143 – Drinks and snacks with some unexpected visitors last night, then I didn’t eat great today either. It’s the weekend! I don’t want to weigh tomorrow, but I will.
07/15 – 143.5 – Not as bad as I expected, although it could still show up tomorrow. Back to weight loss calories for the week. We have plans to head to wine country by Lake Erie this weekend and I’d like to be back down before we go.

12: 241.4 Whew. Not liking that number so much. 😕 Did pretty well with food today. I was surprised that Fitbit gave me about 900 exercise calories. I only used 5 of them, but that was only by chance as I synced and logged my food at the end of the day. Goal for tomorrow - log as I eat.
13: 241.6 Feedback: Lack of sleep actually hinders weight loss. On the plus side, I started my day off with an organic vegan sprouted protein shake with Brain Octane oil and Mighty Maca...and I logged it before the first sip! Great way to start my day!
14: 241.5 Not gonna lie, I'm irritated by this, but I also know that's not gonna help change it. I'm doing the right things, so I know the scale will catch up at some point. Hopefully soon!

Goal weight 123. I was 124.4 last week, so I am hoping some of the 126 is water weight to be corrected with no more alcohol and water consumption....so I am technically only trying to lose a pound. Will see how that works

I didn't log today. And won't do until Monday.
I woke up stressing about work. Had nice lunch and dinner plus drinks out.
But I also made a bet with a friend to lose 5kg by her birthday end of Sep, which gives me 10 weeks to go from what I'll expect to be 73kg when I start on Monday to get down to 68kg. That's totally doable and I hope it'll give me the motivation to stick to it.

My highest weight was 197# at 5’4”. I’m 48 years old.
I was 189# when I first started keto, and had gotten down to 150# before I let life interrupt me.
7/12 - 165.5 - Today I am 165.5#, including all the swelling. 😒
7/13 - 163.5 - the swelling must be going finally, or something. I figure if I eat basically what my mom (@quiltingjaine) eats, I will surely be around my macros/calories. It’s hard being down & dependent when I’m used to doing everything for myself & others.
7/14 - 163 - it’s POD#5 and time to try to be more active. We’re going to drive to the pool today and I’m going to relax in the sun and hopefully make a couple laps around the pond. I’m feeling quite weak from this lazying around.
7/15 - 164 - POD#6 got a little sunburn yesterday. The popcorn from 2 nights ago has caught up. Cleaning it up today and resting a little more, but laundry can’t wait anymore. Lol! Just have to keep trying and stay focused10 -

I am so frustrated. Grrr. I gain 3lbs on vacay (even though I thought I made mostly good food choices). Then came home did 16/8 fasting for a week - avoided the scale and I’m up another pound! I know it’s not a lot but I have been fighting to get under 160 for months (and did!) and here I am and feel no matter what I do the scale doesn’t go down. Pissed this am. Thanks for listening.

Sat 13/07: 163.5: Goals: ✅ We finally got our we boat back in the water, and the new engine is so quiet, and no nasty fumes either. Result! Now all we need is a few warm sunny days to enjoy it.
Sun 14/07: 164.2: Goals: Meh!!!
Mon 12/07: 166.2: Goals: There are no excuses. I 😈 choose instant gratification over sensible eating at a family buffet yesterday. I haven't done that for some time. It did not go unpunished. My new healthy body rebelled big time. I spent an wretched evening feeling bloated and uncomfortable, with an extra big a big kick up the a** when I stepped on the scale this morning. Now, I know I haven't put on 2lbs of weight overnight, (though I may well have with the food I ate), and a lot of it is probably be water weight. But enough is enough, and too much is just plain daft. We all do daft things from time to time. The trick is to put it behind you and move on. I am choosing to have a few reset days of light eating to see if I can redress my blowout yesterday. Though if the truth be told, I have been sliding most of the week. I know this is only a blip. Nothing gets in my way when I'm on a mission.
Goals: ✅ Later: Noticed I had the wrong date for my post this morning, so I’ve fixed it. Hopefully back on track.
Previous Round:Tue 02/07: 162.4: Goals: ✅Just trying to hold it steady.Daily Goals
Wed 03/07: 162.5: Goals: ✅
Thu 04/07: 162.5: Goals: ✅Had a busy day being foster mum to my daughter's 2 fur babies. Jack is very used to being with us, and is no trouble. Sydney is fairly new, and very nervous, and we haven't really got to know him until this week. DH is the doggie person in our house, but Sydney won't go near him, so I'm it! Worse than having a toddler in the house.
Fri 05/07: 162.5: Goals: ✅ Lots of walking and gardening today.
Sat 06/07: 162.5: Goals: ✅ Lots of garden work done today. Perfect weather with a bit of a breeze to take the edge off the heat.
Sun 07/07: 162.6: Goals: ✅ Normal fluctuation.
Mon 08/07: 162.5: Goals: ✅ Another plateau. 😏
Tue 09/07: 163.6: Goals: ✅ Drat! The weekend caught up with me!
Wed 10/07: 163.4: Goals: ✅ *sigh* Keeping on keeping on!
Thu 11/07: 163.6: Goals: ✅ I was quite disappointed with this result until I noticed my muscle %age has increased since last week. I have been working hard on lower body strength for a couple of weeks. Also yesterday, DH asked me if I had lost weight again. It just goes to show that Progress isn't always about the scale dropping. Looking forward to the next round, and making more progress! 😂Food

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.
