    Despite the hot weather, dinner was Germanic. Rosti and Dutch herring salad made with salt cured (not pickled) herring, red onion, green apples, beets, pickled onion and gherkins, boiled eggs, mayo thinned with yoghurt.

    Probably not the prettiest of meals as compared to everyone else but I have to get by with what I can while being stuck on a rig 😆. Anyways it's chicken breast on rice with raw broccoli and fresh cut fruit. The apple is my snack later

    Lunch at a friend's place. They made hot smoked salmon, boiled new potatoes, rucola salad, a sauce with creme frache and herring roe. I brought an engish summer pudding with commercial custard.

    I have harvested pea shoots for tonight's salad. I've just put a batch of broad beans in a tray of soil so should have those in 2-3 weeks as well as hopefuly a second crop of the pea shoots.
