07/12 160.4 - 14,300 No diet change. It is water retention because I am uncomfortably puffy again. Started birth control last week for medical reasons and even though doctor said it wouldn’t affect weight, I have to believe that is where this is coming from. I’m having a few other issues as well. Maybe it is just a transition time - I hope. This stinks! 😔

Taking some vacation days this week. This is where I’m closing out the 10 day challenge. I know I’m not gonna weigh next two days. But I’ll be back for the next one with some specific goals! Good luck everyone!

My goal for this round is to get out of the 310s and stay on track with my food and fitness plans.
07/12 312.0 I’m happy that I’m not up from all the activity yesterday. I did 2 sets of a bodyweight workout minus planks and I got in 10k steps. I’m feeling it all today so I’m going to take it easy today. My nsv was hitting 10k steps!
07/13 311.2 I’m still feeling the other day and I’m having a flare up of my MS. I have a plan in place and I’m not going to use it as an excuse to sit around and eat. I’m going to try to do little bits of activity as I can throughout the day.
07/14 311.6 I managed strength training yesterday and I was a bit high in sodium and carbs, plus a little later of a night and then earlier morning.
07/15 310.4 I got in decent steps yesterday by doing several short walks as I felt like I could. I’m having to use my cane, but I’m not beating myself up about it. I have a plan in place for the next week because we’ll be at about 100 before any heat index, which usually brings it up around 105-110. I hope to get a few walks today because the weather is going to be nice.
07/16 310.4 I got in a number of walks yesterday thanks to the slightly cooler weather and ended up a little over 10k in steps. I’m still having to use my cane and I’m not the fastest walker right now but that’s okay, I’m just happy to be out walking. The rest of this week I’m mostly staying inside because of the excessive heat , but I can use a lower activity day or two.
07/17 309.8 I’m hopeful that this sticks and that I continue to move downward.
07/18 308.6 I’m now below the goal that I set for the month. I don’t know why I’m surprised though, I’ve been on track with everything. My new goal is to get to 299, I anticipate that I’ll see that in about 2-3 rounds if all goes well. I had a really nice rest day yesterday and I tried out a new recipe. I had no idea that vegan, paleo brownies could taste so good.

07/12 – 141.5 – Great start for the weekend. Our city is having an Italian Festival right outside my office door. I ate half a Stromboli for lunch yesterday and had a small salad at home for supper to compensate for the extra calories. Our grandson is spending the night tonight and he will want Chinese food, so no Italian for me today. I’m just realizing that after over a year of watching calories, these food decisions are starting to become second nature to me.
07/13 - 142 – Not unexpected due to the sodium in the Chinese food.
07/14 – 143 – Drinks and snacks with some unexpected visitors last night, then I didn’t eat great today either. It’s the weekend! I don’t want to weigh tomorrow, but I will.
07/15 – 143.5 – Not as bad as I expected, although it could still show up tomorrow. Back to weight loss calories for the week. We have plans to head to wine country by Lake Erie this weekend and I’d like to be back down before we go.
07/16 – 143 – Slowly but surely.
07/17 – 142.5 – OK!
07/18 – 142.5 – Last day of work for me this week. I’m sure my calories will be up this weekend, so I’m going to keep them low today.
07/19 – 142 – Getting ready to head North for the weekend. I’m hoping the heat wave isn’t too bad directly next to the lake. I’ll be mindful of my food, but we don’t get a chance to do this with family too often, so I’m not going to worry about the extra calories (especially in the wine). Six months from now I won't remember if it takes me a week or two to drop my weight back down, but I will remember the good time we had. I learned this last year.

7/12 143, not too bad for being lower than usual on water and not working out as much as I normally do (in the middle of my TOM). Hoping to get my energy to today for 70 minutes on the elliptical.
7/13 142.8, going to the museum with a friend and then a yoga class later in the afternoon. Food is all prepped, so just hope to drink enough water throughout the day and keep to the plan .
7/14 141.2, today’s my last day of my cycle so a lot of the weight drop can be attributed to that, but still great to be almost in the 130s and at my round goal. One small victory is that I noticed that I’m under my license weight of 145. I put that number when I was in the 160s because I was too ashamed to put my real weight.
7/15 141.6, this is the second month that I recorded my TOM weight. I normally just track, but don’t actually look at the trends on what happens. Last month, I stalled for two weeks after so hopefully that won’t happen again. But if it does, I can prepare more next month. I won’t be making any radical changes to my diet or exercise this week to really see what my body does.
7/16 140.6, really don’t understand the weight loss today, but I’ll take it! Going to a baseball game with a friend and going to have a hot dog and a beer (will make sure in calories, but life is too short to not enjoy some days!)
7/17 140.8, took a barre class yesterday and really enjoyed it. I need to be more consistent since once a week isn’t cutting it. Planning to go Friday and Saturday as well. I think the closer I get to my goal, the faster I want it to go! Getting a bit impatient, but can’t forget the one day at a time plan.
7/18 140.0, don’t quite understand the sudden loss this week, but not mad at all! I am prepared for some of this weight to come back to since seems very rapid
7/19 141.5, woke up with a migraine yesterday and only ate one large meal (went to local taqueria and had a retried bean and cheese burrito with rice and sour cream, chips and guacamole) . I know that wasn’t much more than my 1200 calories allotted, or at least not enough over maintenance to elicit that much of a gain so I think a lot of it is sodium. Will drink a lot of water today and go to the gym for an hour now that I feel better. Still under my round goal but hope to be closer to 140.x by Sunday.

I just had a moment I think you guys can understand better than anyone else. I was checking my BMI on my office computer. (I do all my Community activity on MFP at work - I justify it by saying a healthier worker does a better job, not sure if my boss would agree A co-worker came in, saw the screen and said why would you want to depress yourself??? I laughed and said I just found out I'm only 10 pounds away from being merely overweight and no longer obese. I'm thrilled She's trying to lose a few pounds she gained after a cruise. She's very nice and well-meaning but we are on much different journeys. I'm no longer depressed by a high BMI - I know it as something I can change.
This started an entire discussion about dieting. One of the ladies said I couldn't do it, I like pizza too much. I said I eat pizza about once a week. Usually cheese or veggie on thin crust - just small adjustments to the "normal" things people eat.12 -

12: 241.4 Whew. Not liking that number so much. 😕 Did pretty well with food today. I was surprised that Fitbit gave me about 900 exercise calories. I only used 5 of them, but that was only by chance as I synced and logged my food at the end of the day. Goal for tomorrow - log as I eat.
13: 241.6 Feedback: Lack of sleep actually hinders weight loss. On the plus side, I started my day off with an organic vegan sprouted protein shake with Brain Octane oil and Mighty Maca...and I logged it before the first sip! Great way to start my day!
14: 241.5 Not gonna lie, I'm irritated by this, but I also know that's not gonna help change it. I'm doing the right things, so I know the scale will catch up at some point. Hopefully soon!

@shunggie Yay for you!!!! I'm on your side. I don't want to bury my head in the sand any more years. I've done that long enough! The information we seek on our weight, our BMI, our fat % etc. is information we need to create (and reach) our goals. I'm with you! Remember, what you are doing is working! Her journey may look different but may be exactly right for her.8 -

07/14 …..198.0 ….. I deserve this in body but not in soul. Binge last night after encountering a problem that I’ve not had before on this journey. While in bed watching TV I smelled a frozen pizza my son was heating in the oven. He eats later than me & normally I am satisfied at that hour & not tempted. Last night, however, a dark shadow overcame me & I was up & running for the kitchen. It turned on to a full-on binge undoing everything I’ve accomplished in the past week. So a new problem (will this happen again?) is turning into a new plan. BEDROOM DOOR SHUT in this very small house so the smells will not affect me. I will just have to get up & down as the cat wants out. I think my counts are pretty accurate as the foods I indulged in were mostly pre-packaged garbage. 2750 Calories In / 2410 Calories Out. 208 Net Carbs. 10,376 Total Steps & 4.39 Total Miles. 12/13 Fitbit Step Hours & I slept 4 hours & 4 minutes. I Took a 13 minute walk (I can’t stray too far from my office when the cabins & rooms are filled for the weekend) & did 45 minutes of yardwork & transplanting

However, I know I am the sum of ALL my parts, not just the weak ones![/fuchsia] Yesterday’s stats: 1254 Calories In / 2742 Calories Out. 23 Net Carbs. 16,127 Total Steps & 6.82 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 6 hours & 43 minutes which is UNHEARD OF for me! I did rigorous cabin cleaning for 92 minutes after check-outs & I took a 34 minute very brisk walk to offset that pizza from Saturday night.

Yesterday I decided to knock on a new neighbors door down the road. She appears to be about my age & to live alone. She is always puttering in her yard & gardens. I decided to brave it and ask her if she’d like to go on the 1 ½ mile walk I’ve mapped out in my neighborhood. She said yes. It was a wonderful walk & we plan on doing it more regularly. I’m so glad I took the chance! A new friend & walking partner! Yesterdays stats: 1265 Calories In / 2735 Calories Out. 14,225 Total Steps & 6.02 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours & I slept 5 hours & 17 minutes. I walked 46 minutes with friend at a moderate pace. I walked 23 minutes at a brisk pace alone in rougher terrain. I rigorously cleaned cabins for 76 minutes.
07/17 …..194.4 ….. Just a normal fluctuation. Potty trouble. Dr. appointment went well, but clearly she wants my weight back down. AIC was 8.9 which is way up from my lowest weight last year after loss. I’ve been given the warning, lose the weight I gained over winter, or add back the 4 extra diabetic pills I was taken off last year (I still take metformin). So I must be diligent. Yesterdays stats: 1389 Calories In / 2313 Calories Out. 48 Net Carbs. 12,150 Total Steps & 5.15 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours & I slept 3 hours & 50 minutes but woke up refreshed & ready to work! I took a 34 minute moderately paced walk & I did 21 minutes on the elliptical. Today will be another good day. I am going to see if my new neighbor wants to take a longer walk with me in the neighborhood again.

Egg roll in a bowl for dinner. Low carb meals & keto friendly snacks. Yesterday’s stats: 1877 Calories In / 2765 Calories Out. Approximately 70 Net Carbs. 15,200 Total Steps & 6.39 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 5 hours & 21 minutes which was very nice. I walked for 31 minutes with my neighbor at a very brisk pace. I cleaned cabins at a moderate pace, light effort for 48 minutes because the two cabins that checked out were thankfully not slobs. I hate when I have to spend an entire round catching up on the scale, and with travel expected, catching up may be very difficult. Keeping my chin up. Yesterday afternoon I went hiking at one of our beautiful county parks. It was hot, but they have fields of native prairie wildflowers, and deep fragrant forest with one of Indiana's designated Scenic Waterways running through. And I came face to face with a doe on the trail.

I appear to be stuck, but it's ok, I've been eating happily -- hungry with the work/fun of putting in a new garden. Today is mulching day if the rain holds off. If it doesn't, that's ok, too, as we really need it and I could do some laundry. I thought I'd add a happy pic I took yesterday -- the view from my office window. When we moved in, there were huge clumps of pampas grass blocking this & the bedroom window. Here's the redo as it currently stands.

These challenges seem to go by so quick sometimes. This round ends on a Sunday so I am going to do my best to be good that weekend. My only goal this round is to see a 144.xx and to get to into a “healthy” BMI range. We will see if I can do it, the last round I pretty much just maintained and didn’t ever see that new low I was looking for. So I am ready this round for it!

07/12 - 144.6 A NEW LOW!!!!! I can't believe I hit my goal for this round already. 1.3 pound loss from last week. 1.6 more pounds and I will be out of the over weight category and I will be at the tip top of my maintenance. I will also officially be in the last 5 pounds of my journey. I have stayed strong this whole week and was expecting a loss, but I usually lose a half a pound at a time, so if I see an uptick tomorrow I would not be surprised or mad. It's a nice way to go into the weekend and hopefully keep me on track.
07/13 - 144.6 same so I’ll take it and run! Starting the weekend out stressful and busy. My oldest had to move back in with us last night. His living situation did not work out. His little heart is broken and my heart hurts for him. That first breakup is just horrible and I can remember mine like yesterday. He will be ok, but having a kid move back in after being out for a year and half is rough. Plus he is an adult now and in a completely different place than where he was at 18 when he moved out. Have lots to do to help him and get organized, so will be busy and eating on the run probably a lot this weekend. I’m going to try and stay on track and have a really strong weigh in on Monday.

07/15 - 150.5 Extremely busy and stressful weekend. My husband's company party was yesterday (last thing I wanted to deal with), but we went. We walked the zoo for hours in 100 degree weather and I only ate one meal. Saturday and Sunday my sodium and carbs levels were doubled what I usually eat and I haven't slept well in 2 nights. Last night was another horrible, restless night. I just couldn't get comfortable or turn my brain off. Calories were good, about 100-150 over each day, so I know this weight will fall off in a day or 2. I just get so frustrated that my body can gain 5.9 pounds in 48 hours. Going to move my son out of his condo tonight and put everything into storage, but hopefully will be able to sleep better once that is done. He needs to put closure on that situation and move on. On top of everything else happening, we are having new windows installed in the entire house today and tomorrow. So we spent the morning getting ready and moving furniture for that. Hopefully I will be down tomorrow. I am drinking plenty of water today and have my day planned for food.
07/16 - 148.2 coming back down. Slept really well last night and got my son all moved out of his condo yesterday. We are just getting him organized and adjusted back to living at home with rules, lol. Good day yesterday so happy I am moving back in the right direction. 2.3 pounds down and 3.6 to go to get back to the start of the round. We ate Taco Bell last night for dinner, because it was already super late, but I ate off the fresco menu and stayed way under calories for the day. We will see what tomorrow holds for my weight!
07/17 - 148.7 I have no idea why I'm still up, lol. I really expected to be down a couple more pounds today. I'm sleeping better and have not gone over my calories at all. Drinking plenty of water and had very little carbs the last couple of days. I am just starting to think this is one of those weeks that can't be explained. I'm doing everything right, so that's all I can tell myself. Two months ago I would have been thrilled to be here, my original maintenance weight was 145-150. I changed it last month to 140-145. So losing another 5 pounds was my brilliant idea, lol.
07/18 - 147.3 inching my way back down still. Did well yesterday and stayed under calories. I am hoping in the next 3 days to get back to 145.xx or 144.xx and end the round on a positive. Still don't know why I took this spike up, but it is what it is. I know I just have to stay on track and 1 of these days I will just drop again and be back to normal until my next spike that can't be explained. Lmao!
07/19 - 145.3 and there it is that random drop that I have been waiting for. Whatever it was is gone now and I'm back down almost to my starting weight. Staying the course and hoping for 2 more great weigh-ins. I doubt I will get another new low in this round, but I will be happy if I end up anywhere in this area.

Yesterday in the morning I was motivated but through the day my motivation decreased. I took too much sugar but total calorie was kinda ok (1600 cal). In the night I went out with my friends, we were kinda depressed and drink one beer. I'm happy that today I'm much less than yesterday, probably it's about not binging.

I hope it'll continue.
