Away again this weekend to go and meet our newest grandson but a round clear of any other major social events or weekends away.
This round & R84 to go before my holiday so reason to stay focused as would love to hit the 133lb by then (which in the UK is a milestone as it equates to 9.5stone. Aiming to lose 1.4lb this round and finish at 135lb
Round Start Weight 136.4lb
07/12 - 136.6lb (+0.2lb) OK with this - not unexpected as Thursday night is home made burger night so carb heavier than normal with the bun. Weight is holding steady. No distractions on the horizon today and will weigh in early tomorrow morning before we head off up north for the weekend to meet our new grandson - back Sunday evening so only one night away of eating out and hotel breakfasts!
07/13 - 136.8lb (+0.2lb) Expected after carb heavier dinner last night. Need to try and stay focused over the weekend as we're away and only three weeks till our holiday!
07/14 - AWAY
07/15 - 136.5lb (-0.3lb) YAY!!!! Not often I can report a loss over a weekend let alone a weekend away. Away up north to meet our new grandson so ate out on Saturday night, made a sensible main course choice and avoided dessert (there was no cheese and biscuits on the menu anyway!). Had a full hotel breakfast buffet Sunday morning too but was then very full for the rest of the day so only had a light snack when we got home. Maybe I'm finally learning to listen to my body when its says actually I'm not that hungry! Onwards and downards towards my 135 finish .........
07/16 - 137.0lb (+0.5lb) OK with this as holding steady and I was really hungry last night so did have a pretty big dinner. Difficult day ahead food wise as have a friend over from Australia and we're meeting up tonight for a chinese and a few bottles of wine! Will stick to my normal food during the day and drink plenty of water and just try to not overdo it tonight - I know the scales will definitely be up tomorrow morning but still aiming to lose in this round overall. Have a good Tuesday
07/17 - 139.8lb (+2.8lb) As expected following our chinese take out and a couple of glasses of red. Didn't overeat at all but its just the whole take away food and salt excess that's making me feel awful today - which is why I personally never choose to have a take out! Plenty of water today and tomorrow and I'm sure this will drop back down in the next day or so
07/18 - 139.60lb (-0.2lb)
07/19 - 138.6lb (-1.0lb) Felt as rough as old boots since that Chinese on Tuesday Weight is slowly coming off and hope to see a bit more of a "whoosh" the next couple of days to at least get back to where I was as currently still 2lb up
07/20 - 135.5lb (-3.1lb) And there's the whoosh! Took 3 days but got there in the end plus an extra bit and I've been spot on this week other than that damn Chinese! Its amazing really how long one meal can affect your weight on the scales for...... Am at the cinema tonight but have every intention of staying on plan so I can finish this round on a low as only one more round before my holiday!!
07/21 -13 -
Here we gooooooo!!!!! Lost 1.9 last round, shooting for 2 this round. down almost 9 pounds on the year it has been slow going for sure. I have really been watching the carbs and processed food, alcohol, and the needle has been moving slowly down. I think I need to crank up the exercise a notch or two.
Goal: -2 lbs last round; lost 5.7 since round 77.
07/12 269.0
07/13 269.2 The weekends are always tough. Still trying to find that balance of eating and activity.
07/14 269.9 I usually have huge wt swings on the weekend so I'm pretty happy to be holding steady. Push mowing in 90 degree heat will get rid of that water weight for sure.
07/15 269.9 Weekends over time to crank it up.
07/16 269.4
07/17 268.4 Lowest I've been in awhile, still time to drop a pound.
07/18 267.8 still battling, the weekend is upon us and thats when it gets tough.
07/19 268.6
07/20 269.5 if i could get a handle on my eating from about 4pm friday through sunday night i would beat this thing. the weekends are my achilles heal, just gotta keep working on it.
07/2115 -
@MadisonMolly2017 I think the gain is the result of the Mexican food two days earlier. Stick to the plan!4

What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.
7/11 123.0
7/12 121.0 WTH?? Happy new round to me?? Got daughter home from hospital, meds picked up at pharmacy and I think last night was a good night. Not sure why I’m losing. I’ve been eating.
7/13 121.0 It was a good day, I think. We didn’t do much of anything. LOL We had zucchini pizza boats for dinner-I modified the recipe because we are pretty much OMAD, and added extra protein. DGS works at the movie theater and we asked him to bring us a small buttered popcorn. I haven’t had popcorn in almost 2 years. The first bite was MEH but after that it really was delish. I hope I haven’t openers a Pandora’s box!
7/14 121.0
7/15 121.5 Pool (she can’t get in), walk, and Mazzio’s salad bar yesterday. Up 0.5, probably that popcorn rearing it’s ugly head! Oh well.
7/16 122.0 Pretty sure this is still the popcorn. @Mbabydoll and I did all of the laundry- 4 loads. Her washer is huge! She took a picture of me trying to reach the bottom of the tub. And fancy so I loaded and moved laundry and she pushed the buttons! LOL We had Green Chile and Chicken Mock Enchilada Casserole around noon and a salad later in the day.
7/17 121.5 We ran a couple of errands yesterday. Today we’ll go to Starbuck’s and the pool if her pink has faded.
7/18 123.5 No TMI x2 days. It was a hot, humid walk to and from the pool yesterday and I was wiped out. I miss my dry heat. Another high heat advisory for today. UGH.
7/19 123.0 Still no TMI but I’m gurgling.
7/20 122.0 TMI Success! 4L+ of water. General Tso’s Meatballs from ibreatheimhungry for dinner. Very good, will definitely make them again.

UGW - somewhere in the mid-130's.
Goal for round 83 - discipline, get myself in the right head space. I do well for a couple of rounds, and then stagnate for a couple. Last round was not indicative of real life with travel, different work hours, and a small medical procedure at the end that has left me swollen and retaining fluid. I really want to regroup this round and get where I need to be mentally. But I need to find the drive. That's my biggest hurdle - I lose focus when stress and anxiety pop up, get upset with myself, and then spiral down more.
7/12 - 141.5. Not the right direction. Couldn't work out yesterday due to a small dermatology procedure, didn't think I ate poorly but I did eat a couple of oreos. Oh well. Today is a new day. Frustrated that I'm 2.4 lbs over my low less than 2 weeks ago, but I have to look forward not back.
7/13 - 140.9. Leg/core weight circuit yesterday, hydrated well, stayed in a deficit.
7/14 - 140.0. Spent all day yesterday outside at my daughter’s softball tournament, head index 106 degrees. No workout but I sweated all day long and it was too hot to eat much so I was in a deficit. Day two of tourney today. Hydration is the main goal, for my daughter and me.
7/15 - 140.7. 4 mile run and 2 mile walk yesterday. Then sat in the heat at the second day of the tournament, followed by the end of season team party. Indulged in pizza and cake at the party.
7/16 - 141.1. I'm stuck, mentally and physically. My head isn't in this anymore. I grazed too much yesterday. I walked 4 miles and took bodycombat, don't think I drank enough water to make up for all of the dehydration from the weekend. I need to work on the mental side of this. Honestly, I'm tired of thinking about weight loss and food choices. It's taking up a lot of mental space. I need to get past that feeling and remember why I want to lose weight. I'm fighting bad genetics (huge history of heart problems in my family) and don't want to have the health issues my family does. I'll get there again at some point.
7/17 - 140.2. Tough HIIT class and 2 mile walk yesterday, much better with hydration, stayed in a deficit.
7/18 - 140.2. 6 mile run, 2 mile walk yesterday. Hydrated well, stayed in a deficit. Ate too much in the middle of the day but leveled out with a lighter dinner.
7/19 - 140.4. RPM class, 1.6 mile walk. Hydrated OK, stayed in a deficit. Very busy day with a full work day, a doctor appointment, and open house at my daughter's school. Happy to have fit in what I did.
7/20 - 139.1. Logic would say I should be higher today but instead I dropped. 3.1 mile walk yesterday (rest day from gym), hydrated well, ate over calories and was not in a deficit. Will see what the next few days bring.13 -

End weight for round 83 at or below 142
Drink 72 oz of water
Sleep 7+ hours every day
Add strength training 3 times a week.
Day/Weight/Comment
7/12 143, not too bad for being lower than usual on water and not working out as much as I normally do (in the middle of my TOM). Hoping to get my energy to today for 70 minutes on the elliptical.
7/13 142.8, going to the museum with a friend and then a yoga class later in the afternoon. Food is all prepped, so just hope to drink enough water throughout the day and keep to the plan .
7/14 141.2, today’s my last day of my cycle so a lot of the weight drop can be attributed to that, but still great to be almost in the 130s and at my round goal. One small victory is that I noticed that I’m under my license weight of 145. I put that number when I was in the 160s because I was too ashamed to put my real weight.
7/15 141.6, this is the second month that I recorded my TOM weight. I normally just track, but don’t actually look at the trends on what happens. Last month, I stalled for two weeks after so hopefully that won’t happen again. But if it does, I can prepare more next month. I won’t be making any radical changes to my diet or exercise this week to really see what my body does.
7/16 140.6, really don’t understand the weight loss today, but I’ll take it! Going to a baseball game with a friend and going to have a hot dog and a beer (will make sure in calories, but life is too short to not enjoy some days!)
7/17 140.8, took a barre class yesterday and really enjoyed it. I need to be more consistent since once a week isn’t cutting it. Planning to go Friday and Saturday as well. I think the closer I get to my goal, the faster I want it to go! Getting a bit impatient, but can’t forget the one day at a time plan.
7/18 140.0, don’t quite understand the sudden loss this week, but not mad at all! I am prepared for some of this weight to come back to since seems very rapid
7/19 141.5, woke up with a migraine yesterday and only ate one large meal (went to local taqueria and had a retried bean and cheese burrito with rice and sour cream, chips and guacamole) . I know that wasn’t much more than my 1200 calories allotted, or at least not enough over maintenance to elicit that much of a gain so I think a lot of it is sodium. Will drink a lot of water today and go to the gym for an hour now that I feel better. Still under my round goal but hope to be closer to 140.x by Sunday.
7/20 140.8, have work to do this weekend, but planning to go to a movie today and church tomorrow so hopefully steps will be up. Food should be good to end the round and start next not eating out til Monday.

07/15 126# Let my guard down this weekend not sure if it was food or wine that waylaid my path...
07/16 124.8 Still having trouble managing my calories during the day, but instead of over was under 200 last night so had a smoothie/dessert-very nice. Ate the well yesterday, no alcohol and think I loss water weight built up from the weekend. Great now to be on track.
07/17 124.8- Hopefully not many TOM's left but alas still like clockwork. Since have not been tracking previously thru TOM, I should be happy I stayed the same weight. Bummer part is I ate almost the same calories as day before- expected just a little loss.
07/18
07/19- 123.6 Nice way to start super hot (literally 110 heat index) weekend. look forward to a glass of wine but still need to keep on track.
07/20 -125 Had Sam's club sushi and wine last night was very busy driving my daughter all over town (actually my daughter was driving and her first time on the bypass- stress level thru the roof), haven't drank all week so feeling it this morning. My son surprised me with a visit. So just grabbed a quick easy dinner but hard to figure out the calories and wonder if the sodium was very high.

I know I checked in yesterday, but my post seems to have disappeared. Oh well. We’re going to an art fair this afternoon — part of the city-wide festival that runs from yesterday through next weekend. Looking forward to it! Have a lovely weekend, all!
7/14 - 160
DH told me last night “you have a lot of muscle.” I’m still smiling! Have a beautiful Sunday, all!
7/15 - 160
Yesterday afternoon I went hiking at one of our beautiful county parks. It was hot, but they have fields of native prairie wildflowers, and deep fragrant forest with one of Indiana's designated Scenic Waterways running through. And I came face to face with a doe on the trail.
7/16 - 160
I appear to be stuck, but it's ok, I've been eating happily -- hungry with the work/fun of putting in a new garden. Today is mulching day if the rain holds off. If it doesn't, that's ok, too, as we really need it and I could do some laundry. I thought I'd add a happy pic I took yesterday -- the view from my office window. When we moved in, there were huge clumps of pampas grass blocking this & the bedroom window. Here's the redo as it currently stands.
7/17 - 161
Well, crap. That's not what I had in mind!

My body has definitely found a friend. Hmm. OTOH, as I said earlier, I'm healthy (which I wasn't this time last year) and happily laboring to make my yard and house my/our home, so I'm not going to let a few pounds weight me down (sorry, I couldn't help myself!). Speaking of which, here's a fabulous essay I read recently by Laura Lippman (whom some of you may know from her mysteries) about dieting and not, our bodies, our spirits, much more. https://longreads.com/2019/07/16/whole-60/?fbclid=IwAR2rOnQ6XLS2ve6NlXrD1GIJvxaihB-M3iSMNwb5tBBa9SqEPQ8Iy1iybVA

07/12 160.4 - 14,300 No diet change. It is water retention because I am uncomfortably puffy again. Started birth control last week for medical reasons and even though doctor said it wouldn’t affect weight, I have to believe that is where this is coming from. I’m having a few other issues as well. Maybe it is just a transition time - I hope. This stinks! 😔
07/13 160.8 - 14,000
07/14 159.6 - 15,600
07/15 159.0 - 14,100 It seems like I’m just losing at a “normal” rate instead of the fluid going away because I should be down a few pounds. I guess I am just happy to be moving in the right direction and proud to be staying on plan. It has been much harder this week. I’m having insane hunger/cravings.
07/16 157.6 - 11,900 A new low! I’ve changed my goal three times now but I really think I’m getting close. Maybe 145-150ish??
07/17 156.8 - 14,500 Water is all going. It is fun to see the drops... but we all know I will wake up with 3 pounds of water again any day now. Lol! 🤪
07/18 157.4 - No exercise yesterday. Sick with bad migraine all day and up most of the night with it. Still with me today but milder and hoping it goes quickly.
07/19 154.8 - no exercise. Sick again with migraine. Rough time.
07/20 154.8 - 4,000 Had a slow recovery day but feeling better! Ending the round here as we are heading out for a celebration and one last trip before school starts. I will join back in next round with a lot of water weight added on for a few days9 -

18/07 - 205.6/43.3 Cannot believe I am not 4lbs heavier after work trip. I ate bread for goodness sake! But… I did come home feeling super bloated and gave myself a laxative purge because it was so uncomfortable. Looking forward to resuming the exercise portion of the challenge.

Female, 37yo, 5'5"

Lost 40lbs, got pregnant-had baby 6/2014. Lost baby weight, but stayed 145-155ish.
Got pregnant-had baby 9/2016. Didn't have a lot of motivation and stayed around 160ish, travel and holidays put on some extra weight before the end of the year.

07/12 - 137.2
07/13 - 137.0 - My lowest weight in my adult life, still about 10-15 from ultimate goal. It would probably help if I added some exercise in.
07/14 - 136.2 - Yesterday was a typical Saturday, stayed in my calories but they weren't the best food choices. Same for today, our shopping with mom and sis.
07/15 - 135.8 - maybe it was all of the walking Sunday that saved me
07/16 - 136.2 - TOM
07/17 - 135.8
07/18 - 136.4
07/19 - 135.8 - This seems to be the new weight I keep bouncing around to. Luckily I now know that this seems to be my pattern and if I stick with this, I will see a drop soon. It's still frustrating in the mean time though.

Yesterday I broke my 48h fast. I really broke it at 47h. I’m not picky on times right now, I am more thinking dinner to dinner kind of thing. The planned amount I wanted to eat was way too much. I think I only managed to finish half. I was sure I’d still be same or up half a pound since yesterday, as that’s been my general trend after a longer fast. But to my surprised I got to fill in another dot on my Pacman tracker!

12: 241.4 Whew. Not liking that number so much. 😕 Did pretty well with food today. I was surprised that Fitbit gave me about 900 exercise calories. I only used 5 of them, but that was only by chance as I synced and logged my food at the end of the day. Goal for tomorrow - log as I eat.
13: 241.6 Feedback: Lack of sleep actually hinders weight loss. On the plus side, I started my day off with an organic vegan sprouted protein shake with Brain Octane oil and Mighty Maca...and I logged it before the first sip! Great way to start my day!
14: 241.5 Not gonna lie, I'm irritated by this, but I also know that's not gonna help change it. I'm doing the right things, so I know the scale will catch up at some point. Hopefully soon!
15: 241.2
16: 239.9 Commencing downward trend! Doing really good with food and hydration. Looking forward to this movement continuing.
17: 240.4 No particular reasoning behind this. Still doing great with food and staying hydrated. Let's see what tomorrow brings.
18: 240.7 Seriously? wth! Feedback: Sometimes there's no apparent cause for a gain, or a loss for that matter. Gonna see how the next few days go and reevaluate my calorie/macro goals before the next road.
19: 241.4 Grrr. That's all I've got.
20: 240.7 I think this is heat related. We don't have a/c, so it was a loooong day. I stayed hydrated, but could only eat about 1000 calories.

07/11 …..196.7….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
07/12 …..196.0 ….. [/color=redYesterday’s stats: 1546 Calories In / 2213 Calories Out. 49 Net Carbs. 7626 Total Steps & 3.23 Total Miles. 9/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I lost the first two hours when I overslept the night before! Last night I slept 4 hours & 33 minutes.
07/13 …..194.8 ….. Yesterday’s stats: 1640 Calories In / 2444 Calories Out. 43 Net Carbs. 10,285 Total Steps & 4.35 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept a lousy 3 hours & 3 minutes & woke up tired today. I walked for 10 minutes at a moderate pace. I cleaned house & laundry for 90 minutes & I danced for 12 minutes. Sample song “”Miss You” by the Rolling Stones.
07/14 …..198.0 ….. I deserve this in body but not in soul. Binge last night after encountering a problem that I’ve not had before on this journey. While in bed watching TV I smelled a frozen pizza my son was heating in the oven. He eats later than me & normally I am satisfied at that hour & not tempted. Last night, however, a dark shadow overcame me & I was up & running for the kitchen. It turned on to a full-on binge undoing everything I’ve accomplished in the past week. So a new problem (will this happen again?) is turning into a new plan. BEDROOM DOOR SHUT in this very small house so the smells will not affect me. I will just have to get up & down as the cat wants out. I think my counts are pretty accurate as the foods I indulged in were mostly pre-packaged garbage. 2750 Calories In / 2410 Calories Out. 208 Net Carbs. 10,376 Total Steps & 4.39 Total Miles. 12/13 Fitbit Step Hours & I slept 4 hours & 4 minutes. I Took a 13 minute walk (I can’t stray too far from my office when the cabins & rooms are filled for the weekend) & did 45 minutes of yardwork & transplanting
07/15 …..195.8 ….. A nice drop back down, but still a pound up before the pizza. However, I know I am the sum of ALL my parts, not just the weak ones![/fuchsia] Yesterday’s stats: 1254 Calories In / 2742 Calories Out. 23 Net Carbs. 16,127 Total Steps & 6.82 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 6 hours & 43 minutes which is UNHEARD OF for me! I did rigorous cabin cleaning for 92 minutes after check-outs & I took a 34 minute very brisk walk to offset that pizza from Saturday night.
07/16 …..194.2 ….. All together now…..Hip Hip Horray!!! I haven’t ended this low since back in March & early April just prior to my sister passing away. Yesterday I decided to knock on a new neighbors door down the road. She appears to be about my age & to live alone. She is always puttering in her yard & gardens. I decided to brave it and ask her if she’d like to go on the 1 ½ mile walk I’ve mapped out in my neighborhood. She said yes. It was a wonderful walk & we plan on doing it more regularly. I’m so glad I took the chance! A new friend & walking partner! Yesterdays stats: 1265 Calories In / 2735 Calories Out. 14,225 Total Steps & 6.02 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours & I slept 5 hours & 17 minutes. I walked 46 minutes with friend at a moderate pace. I walked 23 minutes at a brisk pace alone in rougher terrain. I rigorously cleaned cabins for 76 minutes.
07/17 …..194.4 ….. Just a normal fluctuation. Potty trouble. Dr. appointment went well, but clearly she wants my weight back down. AIC was 8.9 which is way up from my lowest weight last year after loss. I’ve been given the warning, lose the weight I gained over winter, or add back the 4 extra diabetic pills I was taken off last year (I still take metformin). So I must be diligent. Yesterdays stats: 1389 Calories In / 2313 Calories Out. 48 Net Carbs. 12,150 Total Steps & 5.15 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours & I slept 3 hours & 50 minutes but woke up refreshed & ready to work! I took a 34 minute moderately paced walk & I did 21 minutes on the elliptical. Today will be another good day. I am going to see if my new neighbor wants to take a longer walk with me in the neighborhood again.
07/18 …..194.2 ….. Hanging in there & following plan. Another walk with my new walking partner/neighbor. She’s very excited about the opportunity to do it and not be alone! I’m sure that the extra walk in the neighborhood (1 ½ miles) will be a frequent thing. Yesterday’s stats: 1381 Calories In / 2778 Calories Out. 28 Net Carbs as I try to increase my fiber. 15,428 Total Steps & 6.53 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours & I slept 4 hours and 19 minutes. I took a 34 minute walk & I rigorously cleaned motel & cabins for 68 minutes. We are expecting thunderstorms today. I want to get out & walk but I have to wait for my arriving guests. I hope to fit it in before the rain. If not, I’ll be dancing inside & hoping for no interruptions (unless someone wants to rent a cabin ). @MadisonMolly2017 Aw Shucks!
07/19 …..194.6 ….. I might have had a thick slice of banana chocolate chip bread which was sliced thick enough to look like one piece but was likely more like two. Otherwise, a spot on day. Egg roll in a bowl for dinner. Yesterday’s stats: 1877 Calories In / 2765 Calories Out. Approximately 70 Net Carbs. 15,200 Total Steps & 6.39 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 5 hours & 21 minutes which was very nice. I walked for 31 minutes with my neighbor at a very brisk pace. I cleaned cabins at a moderate pace, light effort for 48 minutes because the two cabins that checked out were thankfully not slobs. It is going to be extremely hot here today for our area. We’ll see how the exercise goes. Have a great weekend everyone!
07/20 …..194.6 ….. Holding steady but I feel like I’m holding water. Yesterday was blistering hot. No AC in the home or business because it is not usually needed here. Too hot to go outside to walk. I stayed on plan and had a good Hot day. Yesterday’s stats: 1368 Calories In / 2132 Calories Out. 29 Net Carbs. 10,507 Total Steps & 4.19 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours & I slept 3 hours & 14 minutes. I took a short walk around the property for 14 minutes in the very late evening. I worked on my own housecleaning at a moderate easy pace for 53 minutes. Total extra calories burned 270. Tomorrow is the birthday party for my DGS. Unfortunately I will be starting the new round up, more than likely. However, I am beginning to accept that these occasions are going to happen all the time and that I’ve got to make decent choices, increase exercise and cut a few carbs & calories around these events to mitigate the damage. I need a life plan for life events. Mentally, I really am getting there.
07/21 …..xxxxx ….. My oldest DGS’s 13th birthday. A teenager! Big party including BBQ at the lake. My beginning weigh-in next round will likely be up. I also have some travel next round for business. I hate when I have to spend an entire round catching up on the scale, and with travel expected, catching up may be very difficult. Keeping my chin up. I will make more small changes on the days at home to mitigate the damage! That’s the plan!

My goal for this round is to get out of the 310s and stay on track with my food and fitness plans.
07/12 312.0 I’m happy that I’m not up from all the activity yesterday. I did 2 sets of a bodyweight workout minus planks and I got in 10k steps. I’m feeling it all today so I’m going to take it easy today. My nsv was hitting 10k steps!
07/13 311.2 I’m still feeling the other day and I’m having a flare up of my MS. I have a plan in place and I’m not going to use it as an excuse to sit around and eat. I’m going to try to do little bits of activity as I can throughout the day.
07/14 311.6 I managed strength training yesterday and I was a bit high in sodium and carbs, plus a little later of a night and then earlier morning.
07/15 310.4 I got in decent steps yesterday by doing several short walks as I felt like I could. I’m having to use my cane, but I’m not beating myself up about it. I have a plan in place for the next week because we’ll be at about 100 before any heat index, which usually brings it up around 105-110. I hope to get a few walks today because the weather is going to be nice.
07/16 310.4 I got in a number of walks yesterday thanks to the slightly cooler weather and ended up a little over 10k in steps. I’m still having to use my cane and I’m not the fastest walker right now but that’s okay, I’m just happy to be out walking. The rest of this week I’m mostly staying inside because of the excessive heat , but I can use a lower activity day or two.
07/17 309.8 I’m hopeful that this sticks and that I continue to move downward.
07/18 308.6 I’m now below the goal that I set for the month. I don’t know why I’m surprised though, I’ve been on track with everything. My new goal is to get to 299, I anticipate that I’ll see that in about 2-3 rounds if all goes well. I had a really nice rest day yesterday and I tried out a new recipe. I had no idea that vegan, paleo brownies could taste so good.
07/19 307.8 I’m a little surprised by this drop. I did strength training yesterday so I expected to be a little up or maintain.
07/20 307.8 I’m not surprised that I maintained after having a few days of drop. My nsv is from this morning. We’re having a bit of a rough morning here so my husband went out to get donuts and instead of just giving up and binging from the stress I worked my day around the treat. If I stay with my plan I will still be on track for the day. In the past a combination of a stressful morning and donuts would have equaled a binge.

heaviest was June 16 --153.4...that day I came up with a new plan, and here we are..thank you for this forum! I will achieve my goal and I will maintain it once there.
goal this round; 1.5 lbs less
end goal: 125
GOAL: Be AWARE of my food choices...
WHY ---do I choose what I choose
WHEN --do I choose the food I choose
HOW ---do those choices impact your weight and fitness goals? The understanding of these questions should be enlightening to help me make better future decisions and change patterns of behavior
3rd round for me. This is a great way to keep in touch with others with similar goals. I'm 49 yo female Canadian expat living in Central America. Good luck all for to continuing the journey to all our goals. On 6/25 I decided to give up alcohol for a month, partly to help with weight loss, but who am I kidding...lol I need a etoh break anyways. So, I'm doing my exercise, mindful choices with food, and haven't had etoh in 25 days.

7/12 - 132 Yay! Two days in a row! Dashed to the gym today for a step class, only to find out it was cancelled. The teacher had reminded us to check last week....but I forgot. Ran 3 miles on the treadmill instead. Then ate all my exercise calories and more at a delicious out to brunch with friends! Thought my son and I had fixed the washing machine yesterday (we sent a bum circuit board off to be repaired and re-installed it). It ran two loads and is failing again. Arghh!
7/13 - 132.5 A few extra carbs yesterday...frustration with the washing machine!
7/14 - 132.5 Weighed, but didn't post yesterday morning. Happy to see the same weight. Celebrated my son's birthday last night with cake, so higher carbs, but within budget! Zumba in the morning.
7/15 - 132.5
7/16 - 135 Neighborhood get together with friends. I'm assuming this is the result. Should have been well within calories, and not overly carby. Had two glasses of wine and snacks. Mostly cheese, tuna/chicken salad, a few crackers. Some sweets...but not excessive. And 2.5 hours of gym time!
7/17 - 134.5 I'm thinking some of the gain might be DOMS. Did walking lunges on Monday and my butt is still sore!
7/18 - 134 Down a bit more. Woke up super early to take my husband in for knee surgery, so didn't weigh at the usual time. Also ate too many caramel chocolate chip cookie squares yesterday. Luckily they are gone now!
7/19 - 132.5 So happy to see that that really was just a momentary blip up from DOMS and late night with neighbors! Did pushups today! New max of 12 in a row, full, on the floor!!
7/20 - 132 YAY! Back to my start weight. We will see if I get .5 tomorrow! Did zumba this morning and tried a cross fit class. I was pleasantly surprised with my ability to keep up as I had not done the class before!

My highest weight was 197# at 5’4”. I’m 48 years old.
I was 189# when I first started keto, and had gotten down to 150# before I let life interrupt me.
7/12 - 165.5 - Today I am 165.5#, including all the swelling. 😒
7/13 - 163.5 - the swelling must be going finally, or something. I figure if I eat basically what my mom (@quiltingjaine) eats, I will surely be around my macros/calories. It’s hard being down & dependent when I’m used to doing everything for myself & others.
7/14 - 163 - it’s POD#5 and time to try to be more active. We’re going to drive to the pool today and I’m going to relax in the sun and hopefully make a couple laps around the pond. I’m feeling quite weak from this lazying around.
7/15 - 164 - POD#6 got a little sunburn yesterday. The popcorn from 2 nights ago has caught up. Cleaning it up today and resting a little more, but laundry can’t wait anymore. Lol! Just have to keep trying and stay focused.
7/16 - 163 - POD#7 and a little step back recovery wise, but better numbers. Laundry may have been too much. Having a craving for something I can’t identify, or everything junky. Just trying to stay strong.
7/17 - 164.5
7/18 - 164
7/19 - 162.5 - POD#10 - I started tracking again yesterday and I finally made progress. I’m still having lots of munchies and feeling hungry frequently. Baby steps. The 150’s are getting close.
7/20 - 161.5 - POD#11 - had an adult beverage last night and my ketones were way down, but my sugar wasn’t up, and down another pound. Tracking helps!12 -

07/12 - 135.5 (-0.7lbs) - I’m really starting to slack with posting these on time. I think since I’ve shifted my focus to strength training I started to care less about my weight. I’m getting a lot of definition and transforming my body so much that it shows in a short time and I love it... so much so that the scale doesn’t even seem to matter anymore. Maybe this is the ultimate NSV? To not desire a number on the scale anymore! Well, if only life were that amazing, I still fixate on the scale but now it’s the BF% but shouldn’t it have been this whole time? A bit of an aha moment for me. I know my scale BF% is not 100% accurate bit it does seem to correlate fairly closely to other BF measurements I’ve done. More excitingly it has shown a decrease in my BF in the last few weeks even though my weight has gone up overall.
Loads of walking yesterday like 3 hours? Did a hike and other stuff. It was a rest day overall so no intense cardio or strength training.
Ate out since I need to grocery shop but all was fairly healthy. 16,053 steps. 131oz water.
07/13 - 134.5 (-1lb) - two rest days from strength training and weight has fallen back down as I expected. I’m going to hit the gym today so tomorrow will likely go back up. At some point though I expect to get into the 120s 😆 Ate out all day yesterday because I still need to shop but I kept it as healthy as possible. No strength training. 1.5 hours of activity yesterday including hiking, walking, and elliptical. 18,981 steps. 126oz water.
07/14 - 134.3 (-0.2lbs) - slowing working back down. Food was ok, ate out again because still haven’t shopped 🤦🏻♀️ but also had vegan tacos 😲... today is a new day 😆 1hr strength. 45min cardio. 14,422 steps. 126oz water.
07/15 - 135.5 (+1.2lbs) - lots of strength training. 1hr strength. 45min cardio. 16,000 steps (not 100% sure since Apple Watch/MFP sync deleted about 1-2 hours of activity data). 123oz water.
07/16 - 134.2 (-1.3lbs) - kind of tired so I turned off negative adjustments. I love MFP but it doesn’t calc AppleWatch burn properly and leaves me not eating enough, especially on intense weight training days. This allowed me to eat more yesterday and feel much better today. Food was good. 50min strength. 45min cardio. 10,416 steps. 131oz water.
07/17 - 132.9 (-1.3lbs) - eating more! It’s still early but I think eating more is helping. MFP does not calc AppleWatch calories just steps so having negative adjustments on like I would with my Fitbit was causing my body to eat too little. We will see how this goes in the coming week but I think this will get the weight dropping again. Day off strength. 1hr cardio. 11,684 steps. 111oz water.
07/18 - 131.8 (-1.1lbs) - Food on point but making a conscious effort to eat more protein. Day off strength. 1hr cardio. 15,162 steps. 106oz water.
07/19 131.7 (-0.1lb) - Food was on point, consuming more and more protein. It’s ending up being a high fat/high protein/low carb ratio but it seems to be working very well! 1hr strength. 40min cardio. 11,940 steps. 104oz water.
07/20 131.3 (-0.4lbs) - Food was good. I did splurge a little and had some processed sugar in a vegan ice cream but calories were under goal. Tons of protein! 💪🏻 1hr strength. 50min cardio. 12,053 steps. 120oz water.

Did well maintaining, including while on two recent weeklong vacations, but the day I returned home the scale jumped up July 10: 156.4 and then further up July 11: 157 & then further up July 12: 158.2 😮😳😮 I haven’t seen that number since November ‘18.
Dec’18 they June ‘19 Monthly avg weight <155
7/10 156.4
7/11 157
07/12 158.2
Over 155 (my scream wt) for the past 3 days. Not sure why, exactly, as I’m tracking all & my apps indicate I should be down 1-2 lbs.)
So, I’ve gone back to full weight loss mode as of 1 pm today. No eating out, no sugar, no starches after lunch, and keep those under 60g/meal. 3 meals per day, no snacks. Low sodium, high fiber. Time to get back to 153 (my GW) or even lower.
07/13 156.4
07/14 157.2 Disappointing (social engagements around eating) walked
07/15 158.8 OMG
Restart #2: I’m not giving up.
07/16 157.6 [I did very well yesterday. All macros/micros very good & calories of 1,736 (low for me).
I’m glad the scale responded. Makes it easier when we are turning the “cruise ship” around to get some encouraging news.]
Just successfully talked myself out of eating out (several places) as I ran errands... was dicey there a few times.
What worked?
“Yes, that’s a habit, but the food is cr*p.”
“Yes, you’d like to go there, but remember you feel awful afterwards even if you eat wisely: too rich, too much SALT.”
“Why are you doing this. You’re not even hungry? (Recognizes salty taste in mouth.) “Ah Yes, WAY too much salt in Sunday.” Water water water!
I was 155 or below until July 10. A week ago. I’m reminding myself that I have caught this quickly.
07/17 155.8 Yesterday was tough. Hubby arrived home tired & I suggested our favorite Mexican restaurant (😳). Words out of my mouth - not thinking. He gently said “I thought we weren’t eating out.” I asked Which would you prefer, and he said he was happy with either. I said, “OK let’s eat here.”
Bullet dodged. Rewarded with scale.
2/2 days going well.
SALT is my culprit. Once I whack that down, my appetite becomes normal.
BUT I am not letting up. I’m still above Scream Weight AND my Maintenance Weight of 153. Carrying on. After I get through today, I will have to white knuckle much less! (Usually takes theee Days.) I did skip a group potluck lunch today - I knew I wasn’t “safe” yet to handle the temptations.
Thanks again❣️& a big hug to deepwoodslady 💕
And congratulations to TracyLord!
07/18 156.0 Yay! One more pound to go until scream wt again! Yesterday was quite easy & I felt better so took an hour walk! Got groceries back in the house, got the carrots & celery cleaned & in containers. Planned & cooked a fab dinner that was healthy.
This is the new habit I’m building. A month’s worth if dinners that I can re-use & will give us a variety if flavors & prevent eating out.
1/1 day successful 🍀 I think I’m going to cook dinner after lunch, so I’m not tempted to say “I’m tired.”
07/19157.0 surprised it went up, Doing everything right. Cooked a healthy dinner for us again yesterday, freezed a bunch for future. Walked an hour. Wt will go down! Many factors: Heat, water, late dinner, etc
07/20 157.2 continuing to eat at home, track all, walked 73 mins. Doing all I should. All will be good. Hot weather is never my scale’s friend.

Day/Weight/Comment
07/12 134.6 I'm in an odd place with my weight loss journey. I am willing to take things much slower, but I have basically maintained for a while, and I'm sick of it. I don't eat very many calories and absolutely cannot go lower. My arms are still flabby, my stomach still has rolls when I bend over, and I know I have a little ways to go yet, though I feel much more confident than I did when I started, that's for sure! But I'm stuck.
Ultimately, I know I'm more comfortable about 10 pounds lower and I don't know how I'm going to get there! Starting to lurk on the maintenance forum to figure out how the heck you "recomp" when you're this close to the finish line, hence my new goal (I haven't done any exercise yet, and I have a feeling it involves exercise...)
07/13 132.2 Heh. I complained yesterday and today I'm already at this round's goal. HOWEVER, I *know* it'll be up tomorrow. If only I could have hit this new low on a weekday!
07/14 133.6 Sadly, I'm guessing it'll be up further tomorrow. Struggling with sugar cravings, which isn't too typical for me because I always have chocolate worked into my day.
07/15 133.6 Ha.
07/16 133.6 [shrugs] I find myself torn between being really at peace with this and being mildly disappointed. Have not researched recomp yet, need to get on that!
07/17 133.6 I've decided to give myself a 'Recomp Research assignment' every day for the rest of the challenge because research is fun and I feel like I'm ready to tackle this now that I'm close to my UGW. Here's the first thing I turned up:
"On days you lift, you’ll eat at maintenance calories, which is the number of calories you need to maintain your current body weight. Every day that you don’t lift, you’ll eat at a small calorie deficit.* That includes days when you do cardio." -Physiqonomics
*"Subtract 150–200 calories from your maintenance calories."
Okay. I've done calorie cycling before in this journey. The hardest part is (1) trusting that the high calorie days won't make me gain and (2) calculating my weekly calories correctly so #1 is true. In my case, recomp means going from TOTALLY SEDENTARY to days when I lift weights! With my pain and mobility issues, I worry about building muscle, so must give this further thought...
07/18 133 4 days of 133.6, now 133 even. Probably just water weight. My recomp research continues and I've decided modifying typical recomp plans for my physical limitations could simply mean *gentle* calorie cycling (because I don't eat a ton anyway) and *gentle* workouts (because I'm suuuuper sedentary)- now that is doable!
07/19 133 Second day in a row of 133 even. I have slightly upped my calories, still losing. My recomp research has led me to some chair workouts I'm excited about! I found some strength ones designed for wheelchair users and cardio ones for seniors, respectively, and I feel good about starting one of these at my current fitness level. I'm only 39 but my body stubbornly insists I'm twice that, which puts me at a somewhere below beginner level lol!
07/20 134 Anyone else feel like as soon as they put it in writing, your body does the opposite? (From yesterday: "I have slightly upped my calories, still losing." Today: +1 lb. Good one, body!) lol just kidding, kinda. Fluctuations like this are NORMAL and no cause for alarm. Plus- and I'm not sure I should be admitting this- yesterday, I ate a cheeseburger, pizza, and ice cream, which isn't abnormal for me whatsoever. I'm happy with how everything's going!

I didn't log today. And won't do until Monday.
I woke up stressing about work. Had nice lunch and dinner plus drinks out.
But I also made a bet with a friend to lose 5kg by her birthday end of Sep, which gives me 10 weeks to go from what I'll expect to be 73kg when I start on Monday to get down to 68kg. That's totally doable and I hope it'll give me the motivation to stick to it.

TOM well and truly hit today, cramps&cravings. Had a few snacks during the day, working from home. That meant no time for exercise.
Went completely off track in the eve at dinner date. We had a great time, so no regrets. Back to the plan tomorrow, I have a busy last day planned.

Fast: 22.30-11.30=13hrs
Eat: 11.30-23=11.5hrs
My day was indeed busy and productive, diet was alright, went for a run and also walked a lot -29,200 steps 😲 had a couple of drinks and a late dinner, but all within allowance, I had 1400 exercise calories!
NSV but also TMI: my menstrual cup leaked during my run, but I continued and didn't use it as an excuse to stop the run early. "Anything you can do, I can do bleeding" 😉
Sat 20/07 72ish 🚶♀️13k, drive back to Amsterdam, on the road ca 9hrs
Fast: 23-12=13hrs
Eat: 12-12=12hrs
I'm keen to see what I weigh back on my digital scales tomorrow.
So the day wasn't too bad in terms of travel food and snacks. But then I got home where my sister had baked for me and we needed to have a glass of wine (or two)...
