Women 200lb+, Let's Aim High This July!!!

Well yesterday I finally hit onederland, today it stuck! I have met my original July goal (my birthday month).
HW in June 2018 242, SW in November on MFP 236, CW 198.8 - I also had measured in May (which was only about 7 lbs ago), and retook my measurements today - I dropped 1.5 inches in my hips and .5 inches around my neck - which shows the exercise is toning up also. My bust was also slightly smaller, and my waist stayed about the same. My next goal is to be 190 by the end of September.... I'll think about August goals for our next board.
Wow, great!! Your progress is really showing!1 -
Thank you so much! @OneSourApple0

Hi everyone!
SW: 265
CW: ??, 230 last week
GW: 135
5ft 3in, 26 years old
My scale is out of comission, so until I can order a new one I'm following my wellness plan and just paying attention to how my clothes fit / how my body feels.
> eating 1600-1700 cal per day
fruit or veg with every meal & as snacks
high protien
whole grains
limited sugar, fat, and oil
> keeping my apartment tidy with daily chores and stretching every morning (nearly 200 cal burned from 45 min of light activity, a nice lil bonus)
> 15 - 60 minutes of walking each day, gradually adding more time as my stamina grows
> meal planning and prelogging as much as possible. It really helps me stay on track!
I'd like to see at least -5lbs next time I weigh in. But in any case, I know these habits will continue to make me feel great.
Feel free to send a friend request! I keep an open diary to friends.

Well, I was doing good until this week. I made several tuna dishes the past 3 weeks. I forgot tuna is high in purines. I now have gout! It hurts so freaking much. Elevation is the only thing that sort of helps.

So close, but yet so….
I got on the scale this morning and weighed in at 200.8lbs! My goal for the month of July was to get under 200lbs. So Close! We have 12 days left in this month....Can I do it? We will See!8 -
I'm 1lb away from my July goal! This month has been crazy with work and personal issues but I've not let it derail my diet. I'm learning to not let a bad moment ruin the whole momentum. Good vibes for the rest of July!!!5

I’m down to 197.4, which means only one more pound to get back to where I was before vacation. I’ve been exercising a lot and it feels great! Seems like a lot of us are a pound away from our next goal. Woohoo!7
-
I'm in a rut of gaining and losing the same 2 lbs over and over and over. I know this will pass, and I'm working on tightening up my logging, but DAMN, it's frustrating.4
-
I was doing well until I had a gout flare. I have gained 4 lbs because I’ve tried to keep my foot elevated. I think I might be able to get my shoe on Sunday. If I can, I’m going to be on the recumbent bike. Really upset with myself that I didn’t eat less!

I hit 200 on the scale a few months ago. However, given that I avoided the scale for 2 years, I'm willing to bet I was at the 200 mark well before that.
I started this week at 198, and ended this week at 196.4!! I have a long way to go to reach my goal, but if feels good knowing all the logging, early mornings, and exercising has paid off!5 -
So I might have set a too ambitious goal for myself to lose 10 pounds this month. There are 10 days left in the month and I am 5.9 down. Not bad at all, but I suspect I'll fall a pound or two from my goal.
This is my second month after a year and a half hiatus. I'd forgotten so much. Such as how the first month of tracking will be my best month; it won't always be that easy. I lost 15.9 pound my first month. That kind if weight loss isn't sustainable. And it's mostly water.
Now, every pound will be a struggle as my body fights what I'm putting it through. And the motivational message when you complete your dairy that "if every day were like to day you'd weigh x in 5 weeks" has no basis in reality. Weight loss isn't a simple mathematical equation and it's rarely linear. So many other factors like hormones come into play.
I need to reset my expectations and celebrate a 6 pound weight loss, not beat myself up because it isn't 7.5 -

Well said! Hey, its 6 lbs less than you weighed before! I call that a WIN! 👏🏻🎉2 -
Weighed myself yesterday to get a better idea of where I'm starting at now, 182. I would love to get to 180 by the end of the month but seeing as how that's closer than I had thought I'm not holding high hopes. Not to mention I'm starting to use weights again which will probably build muscle. I have to remember that and not get discouraged if I see the scale bounce around.
Well, let's see what the scale says next week!
PS, feel free to add me! I could use the friends for motivation and will gladly be a helpful motivator! 😁3 -
So this month and especially the last two weeks have been hard for me because I haven't really been home. I've been on vacation or down the shore or watching my friend's little kids. My food intake is crazy. One day it's 4,000 calories and the next it's 1200. I'm trying this week for normalcy. Wish me luck. 🤞🤞🤞5

Good job everyone who is meeting their goals or close to! And welcome new ladies! It's great to see that we aren't letting setbacks knock us off track. This is my first month so I know the crazy downward roll of the scale will come to a defeating halt soon enough. Then it's a battle to not give up when I don't lose a thing for two weeks. But at least I've pushed through before and so I know that I can win the war.
I had set a goal to be 222 by my birthday, Aug 5th. I hit 221.6 this morning. BUT first month, water weight, I'll just be happy if the scale doesn't pop back up.2 -
I know I am really late to the July group, but wanted to jump in so that I can participate in August goals!2

back from vacation and logging. I was going to try to keep track, but I mostly didn't have service while traveling (Empire Builder train for 44 hours each way). I decided to relax on tracking and just try to make good choices, but also just enjoy the vacation!
only up 0.5lbs today, as compared to before leaving town, so I'm feeling pretty good about it. yay!1 -
I’m back up a pound after the weekend. I’m hoping some cardio will ease me back down. I wanted to finish July at below 195, but I’m not sure that’s going to happen!1

Hello, I'm really hoping someone can offer me a bit of advice because I've been struggling. I have been on a 30 carb keto diet since July 1st, and have not had a single cheat, but the carb cravings have never gone away. Sometimes i lay in bed for hours, simply fantasizing about cereal. When i first started this diet, I was told the cravings would go away after 2-3 days, but it's been 22 days and they seem to be getting worse. I've been losing weight on this diet (i'm not weighing myself for the first time until aug. 1st) and I know this because my clothes are all too big now, but I still feel like I'm doing something wrong. I made my diary public if anyone wants to take a look.
Please help!1 -

Your diary is still private.
I mean... maybe keto isn't for you? You can lose weight just counting calories. Then you could have cereal instead of just dreaming of it.1 -
Sw: 240 cw: 220 gw: 150 my goal in a month or two is 211. I don't have opportunity to exercise as much as I like so I'm making the best of it. And working on my bad habits3

When I get a craving I eat it (but a small amount). I’d recommend getting up and having 1/4 cup of cereal with 1/4 cup of almond or low fat milk and be done with it. Your body could be craving a nutrient. I focus on calories, slight redux in carbs and try to reduce sugar. You should find an eating habit that works for you longer term....my 2c.

So I weighed in this morning at 199.4! Have not seen a "1" anything in a while! But as we all know the first time usually doesn't stick , meaning Ill probably see between 199-202 for the next couple of weeks. Can't wait until I am well into the 1's.
But I am happy to see it nonetheless.13 -
At the start of July, 240.8.
This morning, 234.6.
So basically 6 pounds lost this month which is pretty solid. Wish it would come off faster but if I eat any less I will feel like crap.
Probably not making 200 by Christmas, but should be around 210 at least, and under 200 by my birthday in February.
I've started taking B12 again. Hope it helps this infernal dizziness.6 -
Well, I started this month off at 224.4, and my goal was to reach 219 or below. It was a hard month full of traveling and setbacks. I started to think that I wasn’t going to reach it. My body has a weird habit of seeing no losses, even gains, and then suddenly, it’ll have a spike in losses. That happened this week. Today I weighed in at 218.6. I reached another goal. I am now down 20.4lbs total, as I started at 239lbs in May. I am SO happy to reach this milestone. I am traveling again soon, which will probably make me gain a little, but only temporarily.😊6

Do you check your ketones? If my carbs are too low, my ketones go up to “seek medical attention” levels and all I think about is bread ;-). For me, I need to be between 50-80 carbs to maintain the right level of ketones.
I’m inadvertently keto, though. A recent bout of strep and pneumonia threw my system completely out of whack and my blood glucose went from fine to crazy within a couple days. Apparently the carb level my body needs for blood glucose stabilization is keto. However, since my carb level is a bit higher to maintain a safe level of ketones, I can have a slice of toast now and then because veggies aren’t always enough to hit my 50 carb minimum!
