Thanks @mbaker566 and @Tramboman for the breathing suggestions. I am sure the humidity played a big part but I will give some stretches a try as well as suggested by @ContraryMaryMary. I did try some basic standing stretches (arms over head and leaning from side to side) but they didn't seem to help much. I don't think my back or shoulders are especially tense, certainly not like they used to be when I was working :)

I ran last night after teaching aerial yoga. the plan called for 2 but i'm 4 in the hole from missing 1 of 2 long runs from the weekend. I didn't take the dogs. I wanted to get it done but i also wanted to go at a comfy pace. Joy and Speed Demon have a hard time to taking it slow. It was hot, and humid. There was a breeze but more often than not, the air was still and thick. Heat lightning to the north and west. It went well. I tried to think about continuing the motion of my leg/foot all the way thru. People have said it here and in the form workshop I took last year emphasized it too. I tried to use both legs equally. Leaning forward always feels weird. When i run with the dogs, i need to lean back a bit. If they get too interested in something, i go donkey and dig in my heels and lean back. so far so good. no @zeesparrow falls yet.

HAHAHAHA! I totally get it. I love running with my dogs, but it certainly does make it challenging to lean forward. But now that you mention it, I probably wasn't leaning back yesterday. Another lesson learned the hard way!

5 miles today. I forgot to tighten the Fitbit, even though I was trying again to see if I could find HR Max. No evidence to indicate I got a better reading than yesterday. I did, however, average 10:24 per mile. Fitbit claims it was still 62% Cardio. I think I could have gone another mile, but the hubby came home and he'll be wanting dinner.

I don't know how I'd feel about running in hail, but I'm not particularly afraid of being struck by lightning. There are a large number of trees in the neighborhood much taller than me. I think there's a much greater likelihood that one of those would FALL on me after IT was struck by lightning. And I rate the risk as pretty low, there, too. I do like to run in the rain. Mostly, I prefer the treadmill.

Just curious, how long do your daily runs take? How do you fit it into your schedule?

Muggy run that was supposed to be a tempo. Not sure what it ended up as but speedy it was not. @rheddmobile I'm tempted to say that I'll take hail over this weather any day!

@PastorVincent Good luck on your race! Looking forward to your report, which I'm sure will be super interesting. :D

A hot humid run, despite seeing several dogs no @zeesparrow style fall so I guess that is a win.

Haha! Absolutely. Avoiding any type of injury is a win. Good luck with your races this weekend!

Here in America, we have a saying... "May you live in interesting times" and it is claimed to be an "ancient Chinese curse"

@PastorVincent go show 'em how it's done!

Yep. I will give it the old left, right, left, right, left, right, left, right, repeat until done plan. They will never see it coming!
