After a solid week of being under 150 it’s a bit disappointing but I’m still on course to hit my goal.
My work schedule has dominated my workout schedule. I’m going to spend some time this next week getting that under control.
I really, really want to be under 150. My new long term goal is to wear tight leather pants on New Years.6 -

I'm just starting to get back on the bandwagon. I had a really hard time when I started gaining weight after cutting back my portions and working out all because of other health problems but I'm pushing hard to get back. I'll take any tips or pointers to help with new foods to eat or exercises to try.

Hi. You asked about exercises to try.
I have been getting into Fitness Marshall this year and have seen a real change in my body. It is dance. Each song is 3-4 minutes long, so if I have time for only 1 or 2 songs I am still getting a quick workout in here and there.
Modern stuff like Demi Lovato, Ariana Grande, Nick Minaj etc. You never get bored because the songs are so short.
He is on Youtube, so I get it on my big TV through a blu-ray player, on my smart TV by casting from my phone.
I must say that the first time doing a new song can really be a giggle, but you get the moves by the end of the song. There are a few that have become favourites for me, I suggest starting with Usher's "Yeah" and seeing if you like the format. 4 minutes of your time.
It works the entire body and gives you some new dance moves : - )1 -

69 years old female...5'5" ...I used to be 5'7" but arthritis hit and I lost two inches, so now that two inches is squished around my waist like the billows of a big accordion... ...Oh, well. I'll just keep working on it.

So I thought I did good over the weekend. Worked out Saturday morning. Got over 10k steps both days and only went over my calories on Sunday but I still had this massive weight gain. A little disheartening. Still managed to hit the gym yesterday and will go again today but I really need to start seeing some movement on the scale.
That happened to me this spring. Made me nuts. I found some articles online that linked stress responses of increased cortisol and fluid weight gain to the stress we impose on our bodies when we amp up exercise and healthy eating. It kinda made sense. I double checked my food diary and made sure that I had my calorie intake goal right, and I just pushed forward and upped the water intake for a couple of days. Then, for no apparent reason, the scale caught up. Hang in there, I know it's disheartening.2 -

I would love to make my goal of 140 this month. Saw 141.7 last week of July once and then boom never again. I spiked back up to 143/144, so hoping it will go back down and get comfortable there. I guess we will see what August brings us! Good luck everyone!

Thoughts: This is an off week. I'm in a small rural town that is our county seat, and this is Fair Week. I've already been twice. The good thing is lots of walking - and I slayed my step goal both nights.
I'm enjoying the food, but am applying smart choices. I carry in a bottle of water, then order lemonade or tea and forgo the soda. The first night I ordered a country ham sandwich (this IS Virginia, y'all), but I ditched the bread and just ate a couple of my granddaughter's fries. Night 2 I bought a funnel cake, but ate less than a quarter of it before letting the kids scarf the rest down and I split a grilled sausage sub with my husband. We bought 2 to go as we were leaving. That was enough for lunch & dinner yesterday for both of us - and I ditched the roll on mine.
No deprivation, a minimal hit on the scale, and the trend weight is still dropping. I'll take it.

August 16 - 158.5 - Maybe I can get in more calorie burning today than I did yesterday (only managed to burn off 262 cal). It seems that I need to burn at least 500 each day to see any kind of results. I rely on Zumba-esque type workouts to get the most burn for the time. Tomorrow is the multi-cultural festival in my town, so I hope to wake up to a good number before sampling the delicious international fare.

Good job on moderating at the fair.
I tried to do the same at the Riverfront Blues Festival in Montana last weekend. Being away from home is always challenging. While the food and drink choices might be delicious, they are not good for people trying to lose weight. Over the 4 days I did pretty good for all but one of them when I ate twice instead of once. I was also very active (including a 3 hour kayak down the Kootenai River the night before the fetival) for all but one. I tried to split things to be able to taste more options - Philly chicken sandwich was amazing. There wasn't a salad or a low calorie beverage in sight. I expected the hit.

Welp. My downward trend has been broken, lol.
It is to be expected since I have eaten like crazy this week between 1200 to 1700 calories. I'm happy it's not a worse gain. I've got 5 more workouts to do before reaching 100 workouts for the year at our local gym and my husband has 7 more workouts to go.
I will be happy to just be under 130 at the end of the month. Keep it up everyone!
