Round 86 (round 4 for me): SW 137.4, EW ??
Day/Weight/Comment:
08/11 - 137.4 lbs: I've been off track for a while, just riding it out.
08/12 - 138.0 lbs: TOM finally started, that explains the week of cravings. I think I'm over it. Of course, I start every day strong and sort of go off the rails around 3pm. Need to break that habit!
08/13 - 137.8 lbs: Feeling pretty good about where I'm at today. I did not go off the rails at 3pm yesterday for the first time in a long time, progress! Spent a couple hours cleaning out the garage instead and before I knew it, it was after 5pm. Maybe I just need to distract myself each day around 3pm... Heading out to play some pickleball in a few. Enjoy your day everyone!
08/14 - 137.4 lbs: Back to the start. Been yo-yoing here for a while (looks like 2 months at least) but I think I'm going to get past it, feeling good. Played a bit in the sun yesterday and will play again tonight, making a big salad for dinner. Have a great day, guys!
08/15 - 138.0 lbs: And the yo-yo continues. I ate pretty well yesterday, even had a protein smoothie for dinner after working out. Will just keep on keeping on. I'm in a good frame of mind to stay on track and haven't gained too much during the fall, looking forward to an upcoming loss... I can feel it coming .
08/16 - 137.2 lbs: Yes, finally broke through (and TOM is gone). Taking the day off from working out and plan to do some yard work, house work, organizing, etc. Will be working out a ton over the weekend. It's also usually easier to eat well over the weekend because I'm so busy, looking for a strong finish for this round! Might even reach goal - 4 days to go. Off to work...
08/17 - 137.2 lbs: nice to still be here. Played in the sun 3 hours today. I’m beat and looking forward to doing it again tomorrow. If I can eat well tonight, I think I’ll see it on the scale tomorrow.
08/18 - 136.8 lbs: feeling pretty exhausted this afternoon after another 3 hours playing in the sun. Came home and cleaned a bunch in the yard, probably not the best idea. Going to try to eat well tonight, hard to do when I'm so tired, all I want to do is eat and veg out.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

Round 86 (my round 4)
8/11 - 158.5 - holding steady with very gradual loss. Last day with mom quiltingjaine here. She flies home tomorrow leaving me with a freezer full of keto meals/entrées.
8/12 - 158 - and then the tummy revolted. And then quiltingjaine & I had a carb-full meal before she left to go home. Been eating some emotions today. Tomorrow it’s gym & sun and clean eating.
8/13 - 158 - glucose was up, but the rest of the numbers are good so far. May not get much sun today, but I’ll still hit the gym & watch my mouth!
8/14 - 157.5 - baby steps. Baby steps. Watched my food & got in a good workout yesterday. Rest day so errands today. And preparing for the next major life change - taking the baby to college.
8/15 - 157 - busy day of packing & loading ahead. 3 busy days ahead! I will be getting in my gym time today though.
8/16 - 157.5 - traveling the next few days, so no scale. Have to own my eating.
8/17 - No Scale - move in day at ISU. Blood numbers are good though. No gym, but we’ll be busy all day.
8/18 - No Scale - driving back to OK after brunch with the kids. Numbers were even better this morning! I’m not going to have my “home scale” until tomorrow, so I’m not weighing until I can use it. Don’t want to stress myself out!9 -
@quiltingjaine, thank you for the insight!! I thought “Woo” MEANT woo-woo!!, like, “great job, you go, girl!” I’ve used that to congratulate members for a great loss, or a great thought or whatever.i had no idea it meant something else entirely! I apologize to anybody I “woo”ed in the past. Ah! Live and learn🙃!7

@quiltingjaine I love cruises, too- been on 6 so far, but it's been a few years since the last one. You'll be able to get plenty of exercise, probably. It's the desserts that get me in trouble!2

Day/Weight/Comment
08/11 130.6 Stuck! I was at this weight all last round.
08/12 131.8 Expected this. To get out of my stall, I ate a few hundred 'extra' calories yesterday (kinda- I'm usually a couple hundred under, so I made sure to use them all).
08/13 130.4 Hey there 130-point-something, my old friend, how ya been? Knew I'd see you again.
08/14 130.4 Asking for a friend, does CICO even work for losing the last 5-7 lbs??
08/15 129.6 The 120s!!! Nice to see- very nice- but here's why I'm not too excited about it: I barely ate yesterday! Hey, we can all bust plateaus if we don't even eat a measly 1200 calories, but OBVIOUSLY that's a failing plan. It's honestly a little depressing because I only broke into the 120s after barely eating, so how the heck am I supposed to get there eating normally?!
08/16 130.4 Surprise, I ate yesterday! Like a real, live human! Expected, yet I *was* hoping to see another 129. Even though the difference between yesterday's and today's number isn't even a pound and I look exactly the same, I like the lower number better, ha. It's kind of similar to how when you see something marked $5.99- intellectually, you KNOW it's 6 bucks, yet on some level, you're thinking, awesome, only $5. For me, anyway, my feelings about weight loss aren't always guided by rational thinking. Probably the biggest gift of this challenge beyond losing weight is gaining insights into how I think, which should help me maintain eventually.
08/17 129.2 Oh, the torture of waking up to this weigh-in on a Saturday morning with the entire weekend stretching before me! And we're having fried catfish sandwiches tonight. I'll log the best I can and try to stay within calories.
08/18 129.2 Hmmm, the fish fry will catch up to me tomorrow, I'm sure.
08/19 129.2 I'm expecting a bump up any day now, maybe even +2 lbs. I'd like to be wrong about this, but I won't be. Still, regardless of how I officially end the round, round 86 will still stand out as The One Where I Broke Into the 120s!

Lotta miles, not much exercise. Did not make the best choices, but did reasonably well. Had some carbs over the weekend so I expect the scale will show an uptick. Que sera sera. Back on the wagon tomorrow!!

08/11 - 139 9/31 I am really getting so frustrated I can cry. This isn't fair anymore... If anyone pulled my activity, constant moving and eating habits they would be withering to nothing... I am really starting to hate this. I am working way to hard to see no results. This is not fair!!!! I have even dropped foods and replaced them with fruits and veggies last week... I haven't eaten this healthy in almost two months but I seem to see steadily be climbing. I dont know what to do anymore 😭😭
08/12 - 140 10/31 something has to change. I have been watching my macros and they seem fine. Super frustrated. Going to try one last thing. Hopefully that helps or else I am going to need a nutritionist or something to really beat this weight

Ready for my round 23
OSW 88KG
RSW 66.5 kg (-21.5 kg)
Goal... Less than I started
I gained last round and I have more vacations this round so I need to focus.
08/11 65.9 kg and now to get back to my holiday maintenance of 65. Preferably before Thursday when I have 2 more nights away and little control over food available.
08/12 65.05kg so pretty much back at my holiday maintenance.
08/13 65.1kg and keeping it good. Not expecting to lose until I go home next round. Maintenance is fine for the holiday.
08/14 65.05 maintaining. Got another mini break coming up tomorrow and then back to lake house on Saturday
08/15 64.9 kg...... A loss! I'm away for the next 2 nights including wedding anniversary tomorrow. I'll be as good as I can be with little control over the food available.
08/16 DNW as away
08/17 DNW as away
08/18 65.6kg which is pretty good as I didn't keep an eye on calories just kept Keto. Stayed at an off-grid organic permaculture place and ate the best salad ever! Also drank some wine for the 1st time this year to celebrate anniversary.
There were monkeys in my garden this morning which is not common!

** ROUND 86 **
Round # 18 for me
Day/Weight/Comment
08/11 392.8
08/12 395.0
08/13 394.4 – Well I am back. Had a busy weekend. I am still trying to get back on track. I had a great WW meeting. I attended the meeting. The goal is to attend the meeting again Saturday and to lose weight. I had a 1.2 pound gain this week. For a total of 3.6 gain. ☹ But I am going to turn this around. Not worried, just going to keep at it is all. I got my 7000 steps in yesterday. My eating could have been better. I had a salad last night instead of fast food.
08/14 395.8 Salty foods but an overall ok day.
08/15 394.4 back down or a maintain. I will take it…. Struggling. Trying to eat better today. I got my 7000 steps yesterday and will get them today. Keep rocking it you all--I see a lot of losses! :flowerforyou: If you have not lost today that is ok too because you are here and checking in and that is what counts and will help you on your journey. It will help us all get there. Keep up the good work Everyone!! :flowerforyou:
08/16 392.6 Another blue day and another blue dot day yesterday too! Not enough blue dot days this week to have a loss this week at WW's weigh in tomorrow. But I am going for weigh in and staying for meeting also. I will make 5 days in a row 7000 step goal this week if I get it today which I will. Eating has been pretty good today too. My goal this weekend is to get in the 380's by Monday. I have a BBQ tomorrow and I must make Mac and Cheese for it. Not sure what I was thinking when I volunteered to bring M&C. But I have a plan. As long as I don't have 2 bad days on weekend, I usually do ok. But 2 bad days is never good. Have a great weekend everyone!! :flowerforyou:
08/17 388.4
08/18 389.4 I stayed in the 380’s today! Hopefully I can stick it tomorrow. I had a lot of salt today and not enough water. The good thing is I have tomorrow to drink my normal water quota. It is normal for me not to get in enough water on the weekends. After 2 weeks of gains at WW I finally lost yesterday, and it was my 2nd week staying for the meeting! It was a very good meeting -- just what I needed. I got my 7000-step goal 7 days in a row this week! And today over 10,000 steps with a DVD and some cleaning! I am afraid to increase step goal. I am going to leave it at 7000 for a while. This is a 1st. Yesterday and today I did a Leslie Sasone dvd. I am getting back on track…yeah!! I got some more de-cluttering done this weekend. Next weekend I am going on a short weekend trip with friends. So I need to plan well. Have a good week MFP friends! :flowerforyou:

08/20 <<<Round 86 goal weight: 387 >>>
My journey … ("I May Not Be Where I Want To Be, but I’m Not Where I Use To Be!")In 2003 Weighed over 600 lbsMy highest weight was 611 in 2003. Weight in 2004 before weight loss surgery was 580. Lowest weight after surgery was 302 in 2007. "I May Not Be Where I Want To Be, but I’m Not Where I Use To Be!"
In 2005 Weighed under 400 lbs
In 2007 lowest weight after surgery 302lbs
I joined MFP on March 27, 2010 weighing in at 388 pounds. I was re-gaining weight and stumbled up on it while trying to get back on track. I was determined never to see 400+ on that scale again for me.
I have been morbidly obese all my life. I have a lifetime of mental and physical scars from obesity. In October 2004 I had Gastric Bypass surgery. WLS (Weight Loss Surgery) was the best gift that I could and did give to myself.
Between 2008 and 2010 I gradually gained back 80 of almost 300 pounds lost initially after weight loss surgery. I never reached my goal weight of 200 pounds. I still managed to keep off over 65 percent of the weight I lost which is very good and I am very proud of my accomplishments since 2004. It has literally changed my life for the better on all levels. I am here to lose re-gained weight and to reach my initial goal weight. I am in no hurry. I am taking this one day at a time and I am in it for the long haul.
Surgery did not fix the head. It is a good tool and the best gift I have given to myself, but it was not the easy way out as many people think. Once the honeymoon period is over after the WLS it is up to the patient to keep the weight off.
On August 29, 2011-- I was admitted to Intensive Out Patient Eating Disorder Program to learn how to manage my binge eating disorder effectively. The program is wonderful indeed and will be instrumental in me reaching all of my goals. The focus of this program was how to eat and not diet. Weight loss was not a goal of the program. I actually gained 20 pounds in program. But I had to get thru a lot of stuff and my the time I was released I had stopped gaining. I was discharged from program on December 3, 2011.
My tool is still working for me today. My head is still the issue. SO the struggle continues. I will never beat myself up again. I fight the fine fight faithfully and positively everyday. Because that is what will get me to my goals one day. Even though it may not show up on the scale every day -- Everyday I make progress one way or another just by showing up, waking up and trying.
Giving up is not an option for me. Perseverance, Patience, & Positive thinking will help me reach my goals…… and the same is true for you too!! We have the power within us.:flowerforyou: SW 373.4 - 1/3/19 GW 299 - 12/31/19 :flowerforyou:Round 64 - SW 373.4 EW 369 (-4.4)

Goal: Improve Sleep - duration of 7hrs and score above 80.
8/11 200.9 lbs 6h18m/79/11:38pm - blew my calories on Friday night, so this isn't unexpected. It's also not permanent. Look out, One-derland, your girl is coming for ya....
8/12 199.7 lbs 6h4m/80/10:51pm BUSY day, but had good energy throughout. Back below 200 and sleep score at 80, so I'm starting my Monday right.
8/13 199.0 lbs 5h47m/73/10:52pm Sleep still not optimal, and feeling sore & run down. Pleased with the continued losses on the scale, tho.
8/14 200.5 lbs 4h39m/70/11:16pm So sore - muscles probably retaining water - and my feet & ankles are a little swollen; wish I'd been able to get to Zumba last night. Busy day at work, tho... will get to Combat tonight. Not sweating the gain today. We'll see again tomorrow.
8/15 199.9 lbs 4h51m/69/10:38pm Combat last night - dragging my way through it. Feeling completely worn down & mood is suffering, too. Not making goal this round.....
8/16 199.9 lbs 7h34m/91/9:42pm Five more nights of sleep like this and I think I'll feel pretty good! Had a difficult day... was over-emotional and blew out my calories. Hope today gets me back on track.
8/17 200.5 lbs 7h13m/86/11:08pm Not unexpected after Thursday's calorie blow out, but good to have slept well. Hoping to clear the funk today - another concert tonight, so I have to bank cals & carbs.
8/18 200.3 lbs 6h13m/73/12:53am Way over cals yesterday, so this was unexpected. Gonna kill it in combat today and try to rectify the slide.
8/19 199.8 lbs 5h1m/66/11:39pm Didn't get to Combat; ended up picking up a new foster instead. 🐾 The 1st night with a new dog is always challenging, but Cecil did remarkably well. I stayed within cals & macros, so I'll call it a win.

Food -- cut out added sugars & flour products; focus on healthy plant-based foods with some fish & chicken. Calorie goal ~1400
Exercise -- Aim for a 4-6 mile walk most days; weights either working in garden/house or at gym.
Weight -- I don't like to set weight goals since I can control only what I eat & do, not what I weigh. However, my aim this round is to be consistently below 160, and my goal for the remainder of 2019 is 140 or less.

Whaaaaa??? Delayed reaction? Whatever it is, I’m pretty ticked off at myself. Sigh. But I have been eating better the past few days, so I have to think this is a fluke. We’ll see. Anyway, it’s a beautiful morning, so I’m off to a section of the river greenway I haven’t walked this summer. Then I plan to dig out old icky mulch piled on too thick by previous owners and replace with good stuff. Rain maybe later, so we’ll see. Life is good even with a few unwanted pounds. I’ve been talking about my garden for the past couple of months and thought I’d show you the view from my patio yesterday — at the beginning of June, this was just grass and river rock.

Round 86 goals: fast 3 days. Stick to proper macros on eating days. Close all rings every day
08/11: 209.8. My weight popped up again. What a pain! I will be fasting until Wednesday morning, maybe longer if I feel good. Yesterday I started with a bad stomach ache. I never get stomach aches. Hopefully fasting makes it go away fast because it is very uncomfortable
08/12: 207.8 still continuing the water fast. Yesterday was a wonderfully relaxing day. I did exactly what I wanted. I ate about 200 calories of chicken so not a perfect fasting day. Today will hopefully be better. I am
up bright & early to get in a sunrise walk.
08/13: 206.2. Still continuing the water fast. I did eat food yesterday. Probably 300 calories. I was like a bad kid eating when I was home alone. I would like to not eat for a full 24 hours because at this point I am afraid I am just restricting calories and not getting the benefits of true fasting. I feel good, slept relatively well. I missed my sunrise walk this morning, because I slept in, so I will have to figure out some time to get some exercise today.
08/14: 207. I ended my fast earlier than planned, yesterday at supper. I was very hungry. I am sure next time will be easier. It took a long time to fall asleep & it probably would have been better to break my fast in the morning as I had planned. My next fast will be in 7 days.
08/15: 209.4. I expected a jump up but not quite this much! We had supper at an Italian restaurant with a supplier so wine was flowing & dessert was had. Such is life. I did not eat 7000 calories so it should drop back down in a couple of days.
08/16: 208.4. Slowly coming back down. I did well with eating yesterday. No snacking, just had a pork chop for supper. The fast I did reminded me that I don’t have to eat just because get a hunger pang. It passes & I will survive. Today I will do yoga. I missed my sunrise walk but my dog is still waiting so I will take him for a shirt walk so he can settle.
08/17: 208.2 yesterday was a day full of anxiety for no reason. Weird how that happens some days. It happens to me much less now. I made some not so great choices but kept my calories low by skipping supper.
08/18:dnw
08/19: 212.4. Sigh. I struggle. I expected a 1lb gain… not over 4lbs. I had some drinks (too many) Saturday night. Yesterday was my 3rd day of all day anxiety. I didn’t log food on Saturday & Sunday, but I didn’t eat out of control, even though I wanted pizza & take out. I cooked healthy suppers both days. Back on track today even though I am disappointed, frustrated, angry with my body &myself . It is hard to make progress when one night takes away 17 days of losses.. we will be going out for supper for DS birthday tomorrow so I could say screw it for today & tomorrow & eat & drink my frustrations but I won’t. I will drink my water, be active & log my food... that bad voice is still arguing telling me to take a diet break.. that only will hurt me, it won’t help.

08/18 Away for the weekend. No scale nearby. Helped my son move out of his college apartment at MSU and into his new “real” apartment in Pittsburgh, then long drive home to Philly. Lotta miles, not much exercise. Did not make the best choices, but did reasonably well. Had some carbs over the weekend so I expect the scale will show an uptick. Que sera sera. 08/11 – 132.6 – Went to a birthday party and enjoyed a piece of cake. Following the kids must've helped balance it out.
08/12 – 133.0
08/13 – 132.4 – TOM. Didn’t eat enough calories yesterday and fell asleep early.
08/14 – 132.0 – Most of my calories were at the end of the day yesterday, which isn’t my normal but has happened a couple of times recently. I was having a busy, stressful, not good day. Used to be I would have eaten, instead I didn’t want to eat anything.
08/15 – 132.4
08/16 – 131.6 – Yesterday I scheduled my biometric check (for my employer’s insurance) for 9/11. I am actually kind of excited about it this year. 1-I am finally in a healthy weight range, 2-It is almost 4 weeks away so I am hoping to be in the 120s by then, 3-My fasting glucose was borderline last year, and after having gestational diabetes 3 years ago, I am hoping to see that come back in the normal range.

08/11: 313.4 lbs (-1.3) ... a good way to start out the round! Completed Couch to 5k W1D3 this morning.
08/12: 313.9 lbs (+0.5) … small fluctuation, I’ll attribute to it a bigger dinner last night (steak!), though I was still under my budget. 6 mile bike ride this morning.
08/13: 313.2 lbs (-0.7) … good stuff! That matches my previous low. Letting myself rest a bit today cardio-wise.
08/14: 312.5 lbs (-0.7) … that’s a new low for me, and under my goal for this round… just need to hold onto that loss and not fluctuate up too much in the next six days. Completed Couch to 5k W2D1 this morning. I was very winded by the end of the jogging intervals, but I made it through them! Joined a gym this week and I’m going to check it out and poke at some strength training tonight for the first time.
08/15: 312.3 lbs (-0.2) … continuing my downward trend. It’s been a good week. Didn’t accomplish much at the gym, it was fairly overwhelming - so many machines/devices in there that I don’t have the faintest idea what to do with - so I just walked on the treadmill for a while and watched others. Signed up for 3 personal training sessions to get me started.
08/16: 312.9 lbs (+0.6) … small uptick. Honestly, I expected more than this. I forgot about dinner and didn’t eat until almost 10pm, which definitely showed on the scale this morning. I still have some soreness in my left leg and my stomach felt off this morning, so I decided to push my next run off a day.
08/17: 310.6 lbs (-2.3) … nice! Beat my previous low by 2lbs. Still need to run today, didn’t get to it this morning. Completed Couch to 5k Week 2 Day 2 later in the afternoon.
08/18: 312.2 lbs (+1.6) … I expected this. I treated myself to Chinese take out last night. Fit within my budget but was a bit more food (and more carbs) than I typically eat for dinner. Tasty though. Still below my goal for this round, so I’m happy.
08/19: 311.2 lbs (-1.0) … some uptick recovery. Hopefully I’ll see another loss tomorrow to round out the challenge. Completed Couch to 5k Week 2 Day 3 this morning, though my left leg is a bit sore. I might give it a few days rest and redo that run. I’d be more comfortable ramping up my running intervals next week if I could complete this one without pain.

Goal this round: 159
I have my coffee with all of you each morning, checking in.
8/11-168-I had a giant burrito after all of the hot sweaty yard work yesterday. I am excited to be starting a new round!
8/12-170-I am glad it’s Monday. It is so much easier to eat healthier during the week.
8/13-167-Good food choices, no chips or a drink while I made dinner.😳My friend and I went horseback riding this morning and now I’ll do half of my big walk and start in on the laundry, housework and quilting......it’s supposed to be hot.
8/14-166-I’ve been eating my big meal at lunch and just having a protein shake at dinner and I feel so much better late in the evening without heavy food in me. I’ll get my 7 mile walk in and hopefully some yoga.
8/15-165-I hope I can keep the downward roll. I will walk, quilt and swim today. Later I will go help start setting up a fundraiser.
8/16-165-At least I stayed there. While we were setting up at the fundraiser, someone came around with a big tub of “evil” deep fried tortillas and I took one and ate it....why? I would have weighed a pound less this morning without that crap in me!
8/17-166- Lots of physical work setting up at a fundraiser yesterday, in the heat. It was nice that they fed us, but it was salty. I’m off to set up more today and work at the fundraiser tonight. It’s for a wonderful cause, it’s just so hot, whew!
8/18-170-After church this morning, we will go help take down the fundraiser. I haven’t been in my normal routine of big walks and a protein shake for dinner, just long hot days on my feet and odd food. Today is a good day to re-coop!
8/19-166-I made wise food choices yesterday. Lots of yard work today.7 -

08/11 300.4 So close.
08/12 299.2 Yay!
08/13 299.8 First thank you everyone!! I’m far from the finish line, but it’s so nice to hit this point in my journey. It’s been a long time since I’ve been under 300. My next big goal is 250, that will be my lowest weight in about 20 years.
I’m not surprised by a bounce, I’m just happy that it’s not higher. Yesterday I was hungry and craving high calorie, high sodium foods. I knew that I wasn’t thirsty so I ended up opting for some high sodium soup that I could fit into my calories. I felt a lot better afterwards. My nsv yesterday was listening to what my body needed without going on a binge.
08/14 299.8 I’m okay with maintaining I’m still retaining some water from the high sodium day. I’m also a little stiff and sore this morning from deep cleaning and rearranging my kitchen. Lastly I’m still waiting for tom to show, but I’ve had a few of the signs that it should arrive in a few days. I struggled a lot less yesterday and even turned down ordering dinner in because of a stressful afternoon and instead stayed on plan. I’m really proud of myself for not turning to food and to deal with my stress.
08/15 299.4 Hopefully I’ll keep dropping I’d love some more distance from 300.
08/16 298.6 I was out and about yesterday and will probably be again today or tomorrow. It’s been a long time since I’ve been out and about, I hated being seen and hated how much effort it took just to get to the car. Because of this I planned a HUGE dinner because I hadn’t had much earlier in the day. However as I was measuring it out I stopped at about half my planned portions of everything going I think this is more than enough. In the past I would have easily eaten three times the amount I had planned to serve myself. As a result after dinner I was under 1200 calories for the day, so I treated myself to an ice cream bar that was well within my calories and macros.
All in all it was a very good day. My nsv was walking around Walmart, I hadn’t walked in a store for at least three years.
08/17 298.8 Tom finally arrived this morning, only 10 days late. This means I’ll drop some more soon, get my energy levels back up, and have less overly hungry days, at least until next month.
08/18 298.4
08/19 299.8 I can handle tom or being sick, but not both at the same time. I had a high calorie, high sodium, high carb day yesterday so I earned every bit of the bounce up and a little more. I’m going to try to stay on track today, but I’m still fighting a cold.

8/11 169.1 I didn't post this weekend though I did track. Foodwise I was ok except for Saturday I was over by 300 or so calories. Basically at maintenance. Which is no biggie really other than the fact that I have somehow pulled my hamstring. I can't walk. I haven't walked since Thursday. My leg hurts when I do walk... My mental health state misses walking already. Sharing your house with two people is challenging, more so when one can't go upstairs or drive so they're in the living/kitchen/bathroom 24/7 and the other has mental health challenges. I did spend a lot of time with my great-niece. Please see the pic of miss Sassypants watching Toy Story and at the park with my convalescing friend. We ALL needed out of the house. Too bad it was so miserably hot even at 10:00 a.m.
8/12 168.2 Some of the water gone. The best way to get over this hamstring thing is rest. No walking for at least 2 weeks. I have been doing some research on exercises you can do with the injury. The two that are options for me are the stationary bike and the rowing machine. I've never tried the rowing machine I might give it a whirl over the next couple of weeks. I'm proud of myself that I'm not letting this stop my exercise schedule. Yes, it's going to jack with my schedule and I HATE that (OCD has many forms ) but it's not an excuse to sit on my booty. I won't lie the Saturday late-night muffin MIGHT have been a little self-pity but I woke up with the right mind-set on Sunday.
8/13 168.0 Right direction. No gym last night, I had a hair appointment. The pain in my leg has already lessened. Good on calories though I miss the extra I get with exercise. It's been the hottest days of the year so I couldn't have walked outside anyway. Last night at 9:02 my weather app said feels like 100 degrees Fahrenheit. WOOHOO, I'm ready for the Ber months already.
8/14 169.1 Why up? My only guess is the new exercise is causing me to retain water. I rode the stationary bike last night for just under an hour. I was able to get my heart rate up and actually kind of liked it. Tuesdays are normally weight night so I think I'll stick to that and avoid anything that stresses my legs. It's so easy to get discouraged when you really think - it should be down today and instead it's up. The Water Retention Variable... a daily weigher's arch-nemesis.
8/15 168.3 Back down. I rode the bike instead of weights. I wanted to do an hour since I wimped out the night before. I think I could do an hour Plus. I may try on Saturday when I have more time and people aren't at home waiting for me to cook dinner. I'll do weights tonight. I had my days all mixed up yesterday, I thought it was Tuesday. I'm glad it's Thursday and am ready for Friday. I'm tired. BF is taking his youngest to college this weekend and his oldest will go back next Friday. It will be so weird to have both gone.
8/16 167.4 Down again, I'll take it! I was low on calories yesterday, I wasn't trying just wasn't hungry enough. I wish there were more days like that . I spent my hour at the gym doing weights and avoiding things that would involve my hamstring. It only cut out a couple of machines. I will be back on the bike this weekend. It kind of makes me want to ride a real bike. Maybe when the weather cools off I'll rent a bike. That's something different that I use to love. Happy Friday!!!
8/17 166.4 This is the lowest weight in 16 or 17 years. It’s water weight gone because I ate at maintenance yesterday and didn’t work out. I was expecting no loss or a small gain so I’m thrilled. It’s rainy this morning, I’m going to sort thru clothes that need to go. I know I need to do some fall/winter clothes shopping and I ain’t mad.
8/18 167.3 Back up a little but I’m ok with it. I wasn’t that great yesterday, my only workout was housework and I had 4 delicious cookies that I’m not sorry I ate. Usually, my have one rule works for me but those pecan sandy like butter thumbprint cookies with caramel in the middle and chocolate drizzled over are too good. I’m going to ride the bike at the gym today. An hour is a minimum, I have 3 extra cookies (600 or more calories) to work off! Enjoy this summer Sunday.
8/19 167.7 Up again - sigh. I rode the bike for 90 minutes yesterday, was within calorie goals so naturally, I'm up today. I ran around all day yesterday running errands then cooking and babysitting in the afternoon and evening. Is there anything better than getting a very cranky toddler to sleep when you have a million things to do? I have one day to lose a pound in water weight. It happens all the time, it happened in this round twice. Fingers crossed and let's drink that water!!!7 -

This round is gonna be weird as last ended, and this started in Las Vegas, where all my discipline, rules, plans, diets and what-not seemed to have stayed on the plane when I arrived in Vegas. I’ve probably gained all my weight back which I’ve lost since June. So my guess is my first weigh-in being back is around 165lbs. (168 was my highest!) We’ll see tomorrow how much damage Vegas means to me 🤣
08/13 161.4 lbs (+4.2 lbs)
Wow! “Only” 4lbs gain. I was sure my Vegas trip had done more damage than that. Not fun to restart my milestone I already reached, but hey. I knew it would, it was my choice. I enjoyed the trip, and now I just have to get back at it.
08/14 161.2 lbs (-0.2 lbs)
Slowly but surely. Was hard to stay on track yesterday. Did cheat some, but not nearly as bad. Got some snacks left from the trip. I hate to throw food, but might just need to in order to get back on track properly.
08/15 160.4 lbs (-0.8 lbs)
Wow, almost a pound! I didn’t even feel I was doing that well. I still have 3lbs to go before I’m back to pre-Vegas. Not sure how that will work out this weekend as we’re going camping. Guess I have to postpone my expectations, and instead be expecting to be back sometime end of next week. We’ll see I guess.
08/16 159.4 lbs (-1.0 lbs)
Wohoo! Another pound! I’m not even really doing keto. I’m not tracking, I’m having a little carbs… I’m not sure how this is happening. But something is still working without extreme fasts or strict keto. That’s a first!

08/12 – 142 – I haven’t weighed in this low on a Monday for a while. Some of my weekend food choices may catch up with me tomorrow, but I did a lot of moving around yesterday so hopefully, it won’t be too bad.
08/13 – 142.5 – Here’s my weekend blip up. I found out that I have a small kidney stone yesterday, so I definitely drank a lot of water.
08/14 – 142 – Well, if nothing else, I’m getting extra steps in because of all my bathroom trips. More water today. Looking at the likely causes of kidney stones has made me re-evaluate my eating habits. Almonds and cashews have become my go-to snack at the office over the past year and of course, that can help cause stones. There are also a number of other foods and supplements I’ve been eating that can contribute to them. Just when I thought I had a handle on how to eat at maintenance, I’m going to have to change things up.
08/15 – 141.5 – All that extra water seems to be paying off. I’m off work tomorrow to prepare for hosting an extra large family gathering on Saturday. I’m going to stay on track, because I’m sure I’ll be indulging on Saturday.

08/19 - 142.5 - I haven't had time to post the past few days, but I have tracked my weight. All the food that was brought to the gathering on Saturday and was left at my house was a reminder to me of how easy it is for me to gain my weight back. I fought off the urges yesterday to finish the brownies, cake, and cookies that are stacked in my kitchen, but it wasn't easy. I've packed them up this morning, put them in the fridge, and I'm taking them to work tomorrow to share with co-workers. What doesn't get eaten gets thrown away.
