My boyfriend is 6ft 3" and in really good shape. I'm 5 ft 5" and squishy. I dont want people to look at us and think 'why is that guy with a dumpling?' Can't change the height difference but can get slim and toned!17

I’m just sick of being fat!
I want to go shopping and get clothes that I like and actually look good in them. Don’t want to look at pictures of myself and only think of how big I look.
I see other people being successful at their weight loss and I want that too!11 -
I have a closet full of rad vintage clothes that either don't fit anymore or dont look good on my thick waist. Also every time i go thrifting I find some amazing true 60s or 70s vintage dress that just... won't... zip.4

I want anyone from my elementary or high school, who happen to cross my path again, look at me and think damn, she's hot and she's changed so much. I'll be 34 years old in a few days, it's high time that I make that a personal year full of sexiness and health.

My husband is not toned by he is very thin. We were both thin in college and then I gained a lot of weight over the years. And my teenaged daughter is tiny. Even the dog is thin! All three of them eat as much as they want. I don’t like how I look in family pictures when I’m overweight.
And clothes! Being able to wear a sheath dress with confidence.
Diabetes prevention is my very sensible health reason, but it’s the petty stuff that oddly motivates me more in the moment.8 -
borrowing this from a movie quote, "I want to look good naked"6

I want my ex to eat his heart out.9

2 years ago I did a boudoir photo shoot. I want to have them redone when I hit goal. I want to be blown away by the difference.4

I want to wear cute/sexy undies. I want to be able to walk into whatever shop and be able to pick out a matching set of bra and panties. Wear them and feel like a million bucks. I want to be able to walk around in them in front of my husband and actually feel sexy for a change. Ya know...12

YES!! My ex husband cheated on me too. He is still with her. We are divorced. However, she is naturally paper thin and I will never be her size. BUT I can totally relate to what you feel

Yes this is what I think too. She cheated on me for a long time before the divorce was final. I want that jacked revenge bod.
Would also be nice for some intimidation for when my oldest daughter starts dating.5 -
My petty reason is I don't want to be another "thick" girl my boyfriend has dated and I don't want anyone to think he settled for me. We have been together 3 years, through my graduating and in school full time while he was working. He doesn't cook or clean (it was the way we were both raised.) I still work full time while looking for a better job and he is only working part time until he gets promoted in a couple weeks.
Plus when exes look at his Facebook and go, "I'm prettier than her right?" I want her friends to have to lie.4 -
My petty reason: You know the song "Jesse's Girl"?? I want to be (or at least feel like) her.6

The really good swimsuits aren't made in my size and I swim on a master's team. Stupid manufacturers think swimmers are all the size of 12 year olds. Tired of wearing a black speedo that goes to midback and too low in front.
So to rock a suit!!7 -
Two petty reasons
I want my husband to actually be proud when his coworkers and friends that haven't met me come over. Be jealous bc he has a hot wife.
Second, at a bad time in life someone I loved enough to marry broke up with me and blamed me, only to find out he was talking to some fake 100 lb *kitten* from the Phillipines online behind my back. It's scarred me for life to be the one who worked so hard for that to happen.14 -
Three "petty" reasons:
1. I want to have many options every time I went to clothing stores. The Philippines is not that "big-guy" friendly in terms of clothing apparel and what was left for a big man like me are shirts that are heavily printed with skulls, eagles, etc.; clothing apparels that have designs that are years behind in terms of style; the color options are not that plenty.
2. I want to trek mountains with people close to my heart and help medical missions on far-flung areas that can't be accessed with vehicles.
3. Discrimination and prejudices towards big guys is a reality. Even though persons close to my heart accepted me for who I am, I can't defend them against the judgemental stares of biased people whose eyes followed like CCTV cameras.
I was 264 lbs and successfully reached 183 lbs five years ago, but I relapsed and ballooned back to 298 lbs. Already lost 58 pounds. At the moment and currently, weigh 240 lbs. I'll be aiming again for 175lbs.22 -
1. Clothes shopping suuuuuucks as a big guy.
2. I'm too good of an athlete to be picked last in basketball
3. My ex girlfriend still views my IG story
4. So I can stop flaking on friends when they go to the beach12 -

I don't want to be the fat sister at family gatherings. I want to be the hot one in crop tops!8
-
1) I want to be able to be better on top....
2) feel comfy on a plane.
3) be smokin hot. As petty as this sounds, I do have a pretty face, great teeth, huge endless hair lol this sounds awful saying it but if I lost weight I think I would be as they say... smokin hot. 😬 idk why that’s so hard to say.
But I Friggen love this thread.
Of course we all want to be healthy. I love the reaaaaallll petty reason. Or the cherry on top 🤣10 -
I don't really have a petty reason anymore. Not in it for looks or revenge, just health.2

I had a boyfriend who went hiking without me, because I was slow. Then injured. I want to lose weight and gain strength and leave him in my dust!8
-
To disprove all the so called 'experts' who think their way is the only way5
-
Two reasons
1. I want to prove to my mother that her stupid fad diets don’t do anything and calorie in/out is the primary goal.
2. I have a coworker who has accepted a challenge, highest weight loss percentage over 6 months. A $20 gift card is on the line13 -
My husband has always told me that I am beautiful, no matter what my size has been. I want to feel that way for once. I want to be able to shop in the regular size section where the clothes are so much cutier than the plus size section. I want people to see me. Not my size or weight. It's amazing how dismissive people can be when you are bigger. Sad, but true. Most of all, I want to look good naked and feel comfortable on top! I'm so petty! 😉8

When I was younger it was to look good. When I became a father it was to be healthy and fit for my family. As I get older, I want to be the old guy who does pull-ups and handstands and yoga. All the while maintaining by six pack...13

We're going to Universal Studios next year, and I want to be able to look good in vacay pictures. As much as I LOVED going to Disney World in '17, I am embarrassed to look at photos of myself on holiday because of how big I am This is a time to be with my children and let them build memories, and I don't want them to remember me being the self conscience fat mom.12
-
My petty reason is because an ex told me I look like somebody who will never be skinny.
I was 265 then I am 200 now.
Weight wasn’t the only thing I dropped.26
