Seems he just looking for extra cash 💸30

This depends on how big you still are and health implications. What was their reasoning?6
-
Did you ask him why he thinks you need injections when you lost 1/2 of the weight without them? That seems like a very questionable procedure when you have done well without them.13

...injections of what, exactly...?20

My first thought too.
Ask for the reasons and then go and see another doctor for a second opinion ... If the injections are seconded there it is a good hint that they are actually necessary.4 -
In your pic, you look healthy. How do you feel, perform, hunger levels? Actually height weight, bf?0

Not sure where you are but if in the U.S., was this from your primary care doctor or a doctor at one of those weight loss "clinics"? If the latter those clinics often push B-12 injections as some kind of miracle serum...4

Get another doctor.

I have been instructing my doctor in sensible approaches to weight loss during my visits... no joke. He admits that he has learned a lot from me and not because I am a guru but because doctors are not trained for it.22

Or the second doctor is equally incompetent. It could go either way. Depends on what these proposed injections are and the reasoning behind them.2 -
+1 find another doctor...

What everyone has said plus being scared of needles is like the least reason not to do whatever this jerk says.0

Brass tax: your doctor is misinformed at best and a money grabbing idiot committing malpractice at worst.
Calories in, calories out.
You don't need foreign substances to lose weight, be it orally safe supplements or otherwise. The idea your doctor is suggesting injectables is even more so concerning.6 -

That's only 44 pounds. You don't need injections.
Injections of what, anyway?3 -
Hi OP, let us all know what injections they are. I'm a nurse and NEVER in my career have I heard of injections for weight loss. If it were that easy we wouldn't have an obesity epidemic. Wat an odd suggestion, if it were me I'd continue on mfp and definately get a new dr. You said you got halfway by urself so you can do it! It's not a race, go slowly and surely. The hardest part of weight loss is the last few kilos, so browse the forums and learn as much as you can, there are 1000's of people here with sucsseful weight loss stories and very helpful tips. Goodluck!10

I know weight loss clinics like giving B12 (with some stuff added) shots with needing a B12 deficiency for some magical reason. Maybe that's what it is0

The first injection I thought of was HCG, which is quackery https://www.webmd.com/diet/hcg-and-weight-loss#1. I don't know why you would need injections to lose weight, but if this doctor is trying to sell you these, run away!3

Saxenda is an injection that people give themselves while trying to lose weight.
OP, seems to me you are doing just fine on your own right now. Was this doctor aware of the success you have already had? If yes, I wouldn't be going back to him.2 -
Is this doctor an MD or one of those ND "doctors" <--- Sarcastic quotations1

Oh, right, HCG.
OP - if that is it, do get another doctor.2 -

Screw BMI. N=1 here, I nam currently 6'2" 190 as of this am. My BMI chart has me at "overweight", calipers at sub 10, visual by James Krieg has me below 14, omron 306 via has me at 13% bf. Yeah... still fairly leanish...... How do you FEEL? I mean you just lost 45lbs! F#c% what your doc thinks. What do YOU think?14 -

Ah yes thank you! You still have to maintain excersise and a calorie deficit on it though don't you? I'm not familiar.0 -
Doctor may need a bigger boat (or fancier car, nicer house etc)2

i hope the OP finds another doctor.0
