8/31: 224.0 (-1.6)/18.9 (-0.2). A reward from heaven because I finally went to the gym? I went out to dinner with my wife, and split a sandwich with her. It was relatively healthy, but my willingness to portion control was what made my night a success.

9/1: 225.6 (+1.6)/19.1 (+0.2). I did my best last night with what I could regarding food (quality/quantity), at least as much as I could while out at a restaurant I love. It's likely my previous weigh-in was a slight exaggeration (weighed late) and that it was affected by me working out the night before. I'm going to the gym this morning, and I'm going to try my best to keep things under control today (wife's birthday party). If I have alcohol, it will be in the form of a mixed drink or two (spirit + diet soda). Going to the gym this morning (right now) to try to give myself a little wiggle room tonight. Oh, and to get myself into good habits! :-)

9/2: 225.6 (0.0)/19.1 (0.0). I went to bed late last night and got up late this morning, so this number is potentially a little bit under what it should be. I did pretty well yesterday at my wife's birthday party; I planned out what I was going to eat before I ate it (for the most part). I had one beer, but other than that it was all spirits + diet soda. I couldn't resist a tiny slice of the best carrot cake I have ever had (homemade by my sister-in-law). I also hit the gym before going to the party, which made it twice in three days that I made it there. I think I can sustain three times per week: Friday (with my wife), Sunday, and Tuesday, with basketball starting up this coming Saturday. I'll shoot for three times times at the gym, but I'll feel successful even if I can make it twice per week. Coming out of the weekend (particularly given two celebrations for wife's B-Day) still at my starting weight for the round feels like a pretty significant accomplishment.

@untrachelable Hang in there with the shopping till you find a shop that makes you feel good. When my daughter was shopping for hers, I got more than one upset, angry and scared (that she wouldn't find one she liked) phone call but on about the third trip she found a good one.
She is fairly short, a little up in weight, but has very well developed shoulders because she weight lifts to be in shape as a paramedic. They kept trying to put her in something sleeveless even though she said she needed sleeves, but she stuck to what she knew about what looked good on her and eventually found something she felt beautiful in.

8/31: 197.8 (+/- 0) I didn’t think yesterday was horrible but I guess it wasn’t great. Weighed in today after my light breakfast. But not gaining is ok by me. Guess I’ll make this a 9 day challenge.

9/1: 199.0 (+1.2) well this challenge isn’t working so much so far. I did good all day yesterday. Even went to a wedding and didn’t eat. Ate McDonalds late but only half the food. Still early. Still hopeful

9/2: 198.2 (-.8) not to bad. Had a good workout yesterday. But ate a lot of junk food in small quantity. Mostly because I had a late lunch/ early dinner and was getting hungry. As long as it’s going down. Hopefully I can get back to my starting weight

08/31-208.9 Plan today is for hubby and I to organize the bedroom closet and storage room. Husband started back up on MFP this week. He lost 50lbs easily a couple of years ago just by stopping to eat junk food, but he wasn't ready to make any other changes to lose the next 40-50lbs and he has maintained his weight for the last 3 years. This week he started to track his food and he was shocked on how many calories he was eating.
09/01-208.9 Did not drink a lot of water yesterday and had more snacks then usual. Organized and clean storage room yesterday and working on bedroom today. Ankle still sore, so went out for a walk instead. Strength coach today and then going out to lunch.
09/02-209.8 Had a great lunch at a local mexican restuarant. I didn't drink much water yesterday, so plan for today is to get my water in.

REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.

Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

Stick with the process. It DOES work! But it does take time, effort, and most of all, patience!

8/31 NWI Up before 5AM! BPC on board. Back to Long Beach and fly home. Will add final weight on 9/1 which might be up due to travel but will be fine. Still fit in my size 4 shorts - good thing because that’s all I brought! El Pollo Loco double chicken avocado salad. Half for lunch when we got home and half for dinner after picking up DGD and her friends at the airport, taking them for groceries and dropping them at their hotel.
9/1 122.0 Back home in my own bed last night. Ship’s beds are comfortable but there’s no place like home!
9/2 122.0 I didn’t drink enough water on the ship last week because I failed to take my larger water glass. Now need to get back at it. I’ve caught up on the posts from the time I logged in last night. Missed 137 posts in the last round but c’est la vie.

I am going to be traveling on a day trip today. Bad timing since I’ve been on a roll. I will try to be mindful. I have already taken a short walk this morning before I leave & I will take a longer one tonight when I get home. I will try to be mindful of my diet with NO DESSERTS. Yesterday’s stats: 1070 Calories In / 2752 Calories Out. 22 Net Carbs. 13,387 Total Steps & 5.66 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 4 hours & 1 minute. I cleaned my own home at moderate pace for 77 minutes & I walked at moderate 3.0 mile pace for 67 minutes. Total extra calorie burn was 665. Good luck everyone on this round! 09/01 …..192.6 ….. I had a day trip yesterday so not as much movement as I would have liked. No change on the scale. Happy for that as I did have a dish of sherbet yesterday with a travel friend. Yesterday’s stats: 1526 Calories In / 2666 Calories Out. 63 Net Carbs. 14,887 Total Steps & 6.3 Total Miles. 11/13 Fitbit Step Hours & I slept a wonderful 6 hours & 49 minutes! Woo Hoo! That is so much better than my usual. I fit in a 17 minute walk before my day trip out of town and I got in another 74 minutes of a brisk walk finishing just before dark. I also got in 109 minutes of misc. housework & etc last night. Total calorie burn was 931. I hope all the USA is enjoying the beautiful Labor Day Weekend, and that all others are having a lovely Sunday!

09/02 …..194.2 ….. Holiday weekends are not good for me! Even when my calories are very low & my carbs reasonable , even if a touch too high. Yesterday’s stats: 885 Calories In (and I gained?) 1771 Calories Out. 42 Net Carbs of mainly friendly veggies. 17,771 Total Steps & 7.73 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. Charged fitbit so not sure of exact sleep hours but it was slightly over 5 hours. I rigorously cleaned tourist cabins for 45 minutes, did yard work for 36 minutes & walked at moderate pace for 62 minutes. Total extra calorie burn was 803 Calories. Happy Labor Day to all US Citz’s.

08/31 126.4 Well the 1.6 lb whoosh at the end of the round went right back up to previous weight so as usual have to wipe out the gain at the beginning before showing anything for the round - LOL. Dinner out the night before was heavy on sodium/carbs (although guesstimated calories were under), so may come back down after a day or so. Tried Xtrain today (20 min spin/tabata body weight exercises)!

09/01 126.4 Well at least it did not go up! Only 2.6 lbs away from Healthy BMI! patience, patience patience...

09/02 126.6 Up, but according to scale the gain is muscle and not body fat so will take this as a plus - LOL. Typical pattern after a whoosh - exercise has been great as well as calories so expect the upward pattern will break in the next day or so. Just to repeat again, but as long as the number of drops/amounts are more than the stalls/increases I will be making forward progress!

08/31 128.4 I'm under a lot of stress and not feeling well. Feeling highly ambivalent about my journey, which is scary. This is what happens to people in maintenance if they're not careful! I'm close enough to goal that I'm slipping in my hard-earned habits simply because I feel mostly good about how I look- tons better, anyway. I need to refocus, come up with some new goals.
09/01 128.4 Going on vacation, and still feeling meh. I should probably take a diet break (did this before by calculating maintenance calories and it worked out well), but... I have a feeling I'm going to come back heavier.

Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and have gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then; I don't want to gain any more, but would like to get back to my goal weight – I'm working at it – it's a permanent way of life !

Human nature wants a drop, but can't expect to undo 4 days sabotage with one healthy day! Determined to stay within healthy eating today. 10 days to my holidays

09/01 133.4 - 12.83 miles walked and 99 flights of stairs yesterday, a good food day; all macros in green. Not really that amazing that when a healthy eating plan is followed the results show through! I am thrilled by the number this morning; I feel good, energised and positive.

End R87 - 136.6lb - Round gain 2.7lb - Loss to date 22.0lb

My aim is to be back to my pre holiday weight of 133 less a pound or two by the end of September (which will be end of round 90)

08/31 - DNW - Was out last night with hubby for our 17th wedding anniversary - champagne cocktails, beautiful chateaubriand, bottle of red, cheese board and liquer coffees. Didn't log but guessing it wasn't within calories for the day

!! Hubby brought me up tea in bed this morning too so didn't bother to get up and weigh in first - although would definitely be up after last night!! Back to normal today - a gardening and DIY day today so just need to remember to drink plenty of water as thats where I often go wrong at the weekend and its pretty warm here again today.

09/01 - DNW - got a long overdue lay in this morning and sat up in bed reading with my cup of tea - lovely way to start a Sunday.

09/02 - DNW - Tried to weigh but my scales decided to have a hissy fit and just show "Lo" - so need to get some new batteries for it today. I know scale would have been up though as not the best of weekends plus the usual Sunday night family roast. But a new week, a new month, kids all back to school and college this week, my work hours return to normal. Food planned and prepped for today, water bottle at my side on my desk.

09/03 - DNW - Got in from work yesterday and girls wanted to go to the cinema for a last day of the holidays treat so didn't get to sort batteries for the scales so still couldn't weigh this morning!! Work all day today then gym tonight so may not get chance today either! Waved my youngest off to secondary school this morning so no more school runs for me now and the other daughter heads off to college tomorrow... All change in our house from today - time to get focused on me I guess!

Hello everyone. Is it ok if I join? I read this post every single day, and its only dawned on me now to join in. I don't post much.
Anyway, I'm 40yo, from Ireland, with two boys, age 10 and 7. My starting weight was 168 and I am at 143 now. Goal weight 130 - 133.

31st Sept: 142.5. 4 mile run on Saturday morning. Took boys off for haircuts and last few bits before back to school. Stayed within calories.
1st Aug:142.5 Last day before school starts. Ate chips and sausages at amusement park and crisp sandwich before bed. 2 glasses of red wine. Enjoyed them.
2nd Aug: 142.5. Sons hurling training cancelled for tonight so I will get a run or a walk in with some of the dogs. Home made left over curry for lunch and shepherds pie for dinner.
3rd Aug: 141.75. Went for a 5 mile walk up the local forest with 2 of my dogs and my friend. we got so caught up chatting we took a wrong turn and got lost. Slight panic attack. The whippet was grand but the St. Bernard was shattered. We were sprinting trying to find our way out, it was pitch dark at this stage. 20,100 steps!! Plan for today, left over shepherds pie for lunch. Piloxing class tonight and son has a Gaelic match so not sure what to have for dinner yet. Have thin salt and pepper steak so maybe that with home made wedges and mushy peas.

8/31 228.8 lbs ⬇️ 2.4 lbs. Losing water weight because of a med change. Good day yesterday- went out to cantina for Mexican but stayed on track otherwise. Walked 3 miles.
9/1 229 ⬆️ 0.2 lbs. Great day- yoga, swam 60 min, walked 3 miles. Tracked food, decent choices.
9/2 229.7 ⬆️ 0.7 lbs. Swam 60 min, walked 3+ miles. Husband birthday, too much yummy food.
9/3 228.6 ⬇️ 0.9 lbs. Swam 55 min, walked 3.5+ miles. Joined Fitbit step challenge. Tracked food, food choices but too much sodium.

8/31 197.9 lbs 4h51m/69/11:10pm - woke up around 4:30, but did fall back to sleep for another hour or so; looking forward to a good workout today.
9/1 197.4 lbs 6h5m/76/11:41pm - ended up doing absolutely nothing for the first time in forever and it felt glorious! Quiet day with the dogs. Even let my Fitbit recharge...
9/2 196.8 lbs 7h7m/84/10:04pm - very active, good sleep. Coincidence? I think not. Though I did over-hydrate and as a consequence, was up a few times, I did fall back to sleep pretty well.
9/3 197.1 lbs 7h18m/88/10:19pm - good workout and otherwise restful; did some stretching and used my foam roller & acupressure mat to help with lingering soreness. Good sleep... want more - lol
