So, I've been quiet lately, hoping to come back with good news. There is none, other than the fact that today I made an appointment with the lead mental health specialist at our local hospital. I've been putting this off but I realise that it's needed.
BMI as of the last 2 days - 16.5, although it was 16.1 last week (fluctuations, not fat). That's 5.4lbs down since I last posted (August 7th).
The earliest date I can get is September 4. It's better than nothing.
Many thanks to everyone that commented and advised on my previous threads, it's very true that "sometimes you can't see the wood for the trees".

I think you're doing the right thing. I hope this will be a productive and transformational step for you, in the direction of peace and happiness. I hope you'll keep us posted on progress. :flowerforyou:4

I’m proud of you for making the appointment. Now your next step is to *keep* the appointment. And I know you can do it.6

Thanks for your kind words and encouragement everyone 😊 It's taken me a long time ro realise that my weight loss efforts were beyond "normal". I just didn't think I would ever let myself get like this again but, I do want to stop it before it gets out of hand so I will keep my appointment, definitely. I just hope and pray that he speaks English or I'm buggered because my Turkish isn't good enough for something like this 😕
I'll update this thread as and when 👍
Oh, today's ZBMI is 16.312 -
I've just had an email from the hospital, my doctor has had to cancel the appointment (no explanation why) and there's only 1 other psychiatrist on the online booking system. He's got no appointments until October.
Today's BMI is 15.918 -
I've been regularly checking the online appointment system and my original doctor now has appointments free for 16th September. I've booked one 👍
BMI is still 15.9 but I'm expecting a change tomorrow.7 -

I think you should go to hospital and be evaluated instead of just using an online system. They may be able to bump you up in line if you do.6 -

It's impossible to see a doctor without an appointment unfortunately. The system here is ridiculously irritating re; appointments - you can go direct to the relevant department secretary and be told you must call the appointment telephone number. When you call the number you are told you must go to the department secretary 🤯
The online system is new (first time we've tried to use it) and doesn't seem to be as straightforward as it could/should be.
I've got an appointment with the endocrinology department on 6th September as my last CT scan showed a polyp on my thyroid. I'm presuming that blood tests will be required (?), maybe all will show that I'm well 🤔4 -

Please tell whatever medical profession you see on Sept. 6 that you are underweight and are still losing weight and that you need help to address this before it gets any worse.

Yes, I was planning to mention it because that knowledge may need to be factored into any tests they'll do 👍6 -
BMI today is still 15.9. I don't understand why ☹️2

OP if I remember from your previous thread you are in turkey but originally from UK? Can you fly home for a few months and get NHS treatment?
Treatment for an eating disorder is going to be talking based. Is that going to be an option for you if you stay where you are? Can you speak Turkish well enough or are there English speaking psychotherapists over there?
Apologies if I have misremembered.8 -

No way am I eating at or anywhere near maintenance. I know the MFP rules/guidelines on these matters so I'm not going to say what my daily calorie intake is but it is NOT maintenance.
Using the past 8 weeks data my maintenance works out at 1700 calories/day. I'm consuming considerably less than that. I'm expecting a whoosh any day now.0 -

That's correct, I'm out in the sticks in Turkey. I wouldn't be entitled to or deserve free NHS treatment now and I don't believe in adding to the already huge strain on the NHS. Also, I know what treatment is offered there and how long it takes. I just couldn't spend that long there even if it were possible.
I'm hoping that the psychiatrist I see can speak English. If not, I know that the hospital has a translator. She's not great but better than nothing.
