a couple of years ago a guy invited me to play this with him and his friends and i didn’t know what it was and was afraid it would involve unsolicited peters so i declined

Haha! It's a game for pros I think. I usually give up, the cat knocks all my *kitten* on the floor anyway when I'm playing cards1 -

It would help if they would stop randomly introducing new mechanics into the game every time we get a new set. Also, part of the confusion comes from people teaching other people incorrectly which causes grief when in sanctioned tournaments.
I'm a filthy casual player, so I play purely for fun, not tournament standings.1
