👻Ladies, let's be spookily spectacular this October!👻
In this group, we post our weekly/monthly goals to help motivate ourselves and each other. We're all about holding ourselves accountable, sharing both our struggles and our victories, and supporting each other when times get tough.
This group is for everyone, so, if you think you belong, you do!!! It doesn't matter how you keep track of your weight (pounds, kilograms, stone, measuring tape, etc) or if you prefer tracking progress by using non-scale victories. It doesn't matter if you're 300lb+ or, conversely, less than 200lbs, but you once were. Again, if you want to post with us, we'd love to hear from you!
🧡Welcome to all the newbies and to all the ladies that have been posting for a while. Let's rock this October!!! 🧡
🎃🎃Tell us about your Halloween plans! Worried about all the candy laying around? Excited or nervous about fitting into a costume? Anxious you're going to be lost in that corn maze forever? Eager to meet the Great Pumpkin? Concerned because you've already got the "This is Halloween" song from The Nightmare Before Christmas stuck in your head???🎃🎃

So I spent September getting back on track from a crazy summer and overall it went well. I'm trying to buckle down and finish out October with an awesome Halloween!
My weekly goals for October are:
🧡Eat at/below my calorie limit 6 out of 7 day
🧡Eat vegetables with at least 2 meals/snacks
🧡Cardio 3 days a week
🧡Strength training 3 days a week
🧡Talk a long walk (with/without dogs) at least once
I'm going pumpkin picking with my niece and nephew this weekend and we're decorating shirts and making Halloween crafts! I'm excited to see which of my old costumes I fit into this year!17 -
Good morning!!
I am a newbie here and only started my journey 3 weeks ago. Hoping this time it sticks.
SW 247
CW 238
GW 170
Height 5'7"
Currently I have been stuck bouncing around that 238 mark for a while. This is where in the past I have gave up and gone back to my old ways. This time I am staying strong and focussing on my health.
This is my goal for October.
Don't loose focus. Staying strong. Getting my butt moving more.
As for Halloween I plan on cuddling my new grandson who is due to make an appearance on the 26th!17 -
SW 288
CW 237.1

I struggled a little during Sept and had to get myself back on track. Hoping to stay focused and get moving more this month! 🎃 🦇🍁10 -
Hey! Great thread! Count me in!
I started back on 22nd August and have managed 27lbs off so far and am desperate to keep that going. Online support really helps me and I log every day even though I don't always get to Community every day so it'd be great to be part of this.
Starting weight 325lbs August 22nd
Current weight 297.8lbs This morning
October Goal 285lbs ambitious but I really want to be there!
To do this I will:
*Eat within my calorie goal every day even if going out
*Gradually increase my steps again
*Not overdo things s that my Plantar Fasciitis stops me walking again
*Start using my kettlebells to try to tone my bingo wings at least 5 days a week.
Looking forward to it. Good luck everyone!13 -
I'm back again! I'll be using today's weight as my start for the month: 219.4
So my goal for October is going to be 214... hopefully 210 though, we'll see how it all goes.
I don't do much for Halloween, but my costume is probably in need of adjustments. I usually wear a corset with it so it'll probably need to be tightened... hopefully it's not too big.15 -

GW 175?
I FINALLY broke through the 230’s.
I had more NSV’s than lbs lost, but I’ll take them.
The biggest NSV was going from a size 26 to size 12 at Torrid!(pic at bottom)
This month is a HUGE month for us because we go to over a dozen Halloween events!
Lots of walking and fun times🎃
Keep kicking butt ladies and remember to ALWAYS challenge negative self talk♥️

SW: 262.8
CW: 215 (this mornings weight)
GW: 199 (then I will set a new one)
October goal: 210.0
I struggled the end of August and all of September. I ended up with a gain for the month of September. At the beginning of September, I started taking olanzapine and seroquel. Unfortunately, they make me extremely hungry and groggy. Fighting the hunger while groggy is tough but I am determined to do it this month.
Goals for October
1. Walk a minimum of one 30 minutes a day( more is better)
2. Eat a decent snack when I take my evening medications
3. Log everything thing I eat
4. Be more active in my support groups even if it means just reading what you all have posted
Thanks for having me

September was a total flop for me so here is hoping for a better October. I will post tomorrow my goals after thinking about them today!!9

I lost 6 pounds on my own, then I joined the Ideal Protein Diet which is expensive but helpful. I drink so much water I'm sure I have barnacles on the bottom of my feet. I can't exercise or walk any distance because I separated my spine helping my 98 yr old mom in law. Hope to lose 10 pounds in October. I beat 5 types of cancer in 5 different body parts so I'm sure I can "fight the fat" and win!14 -
SW: 264.3
CW: 248.4
GW: 125.0
Goals for October:
1. Lose 8 lbs
2. Walk at least 25 days in the month
3. Add strength training at least 3 days per week
My weight loss has been great, but I’m still in really bad shape physically. I really need to start gaining some strength so that’s going to be my focus for October.
I wish everyone a great month. Be consistent, be brave, and be kind to yourselves.10 -

Did this challenge in September and really enjoyed it! Ready to go it again in October!9 -
Thanks for running this challenge again!
October start weight 101.1kg
October goal weight 99.9kg
Goals
Stay under net calories of 2000 each week
Snacking 25% of calories or less each week
Planning the week's meals on a Sunday
Get back to running 3.5km
Halloween isn't much of a thing here so I won't have any extra food temptations for that, good luck to those of you who do!!7 -
I am in! Glad to continue the challenge!
Sooooo, after a few dr appts mid-September, when I was weighed, I found out my SW was, um, a bit higher (according to the scale, 7lbs!!!!). As I went through the rest of the month, I was diligent about a few things and my HOME scale now says I at what I thought my starting weight was last month. I apparently had not weighed myself as much as I had thought in Aug and Sep...and boy did it catch up to me. So here we go again. I will weigh in on Sunday mornings. I know scales fluctuate with clothes and some may be more precise than others, but it was a blow to my pride (and health) that I took seriously and hopefully have hit my stride. That was the highest I had ever weighed-in not pregnant (and only 4lbs from that!).
Starting weight: 238 (I was weighed in at 245 on 13 Sep at the Doctor's office)
Goal Weight for month: 229
Ultimate Goal Weight: 155
Goals: No alcohol with the exception of one day (8 Oct--long story), continuing my daily 30 minutes of walks, keeping my calories within my correct calorie range.
Good luck to all who are in this October!11 -
OK October, here I come!
Starting weight (May 15th 2019): 220 lbs.
Current weight: 203.4 lbs.
Goal weight: 145 lbs.
October goal weight: 200 lbs.
I am hoping (again) for more weight loss than that, but considering all the ups and downs I had last month, I thought I'd keep it reasonable. I'm keeping my calorie intake to around 1100-1200 daily, and walk for at least an hour a day, as well as doing some weight exercises. Continuing to eat super healthy, including several servings of vegetables especially at lunchtime.9 -

October Goals
🎃 Get down to 225
👻 Walk at least 10,000 steps 5 days a week
🦇 Workout at least 3 days per week
🍁 TRACK everything - I tend to eat the same stuff over and over and I get lazy about tracking
Halloween is my favorite time of the year! I love decorating the house - we are definitely the house that goes overboard and we have a huge Halloween party each year. I think this year I'll buy candy that I don't care for, in order to avoid them.10 -

Shooting for 6 pounds this month.
- log everyday
- continue to drink min of 64 oz. a day of water
- exercise more - gym 3 - 4 times a week
- limit alcohol intake
I like Halloween. My son is getting older so it's not as exciting as it used to be. We decorate and go trick or treating. I usually leave the candy outside for kids to come by. I can usually resist, but may allow myself one or two. I used to go to parties, but get frustrated with costumes. I am large chested and nothing ever fits, even when I lose weight So now I just throw on something black and a cape and call myself a witch...:) I do love the pumpkin spice flavors...gotta stay away from starbucks:)5 -

CW: 239.1
GW: 180
Goals for October:
Drink 150 oz water/day
Walk 5 miles per day
Burn 3000 calories a day
Log everyday, for better or for worse
Get to 230
Thankfully I'll be out of town on Halloween, so I won't have to pass out candy! I've got quite a bit of travel this month, which makes it hard to meet my goals. Got to work extra hard to make up for it.4 -
I’m in!! Started back this morning having weighed myself at 226lbs. Not really the weight that freaked me but I can’t stand looking at myself so decided to relaunch MFP, started on C25k and signed up for a half marathon next year. I have rheumatoid arthritis and was diagnosed last year and been using it as an excuse to eat what I want and not exercise - woken with a new focus this morning. October is my favourite month so what better time to start!
CW/SW. 226
GW. 160
Goal for October -8
Goal is to do week 2-6 of C25k and walk at least 10k steps a day and make the right food choices. Being mindful of what I eat.
Here’s to a positive and successful October!!
Thanks. Katherine x5 -
I'm also in, I have to undo some months of hearty stress eating - maybe I can take my stress out on some innocent pumpkins - my goal is to eat to plan and burn 400 a day through cycling or on some cardio gear I have in my shed here.4

Overall Starting weight 343
October Starting weight 247
Goals: Log daily, NO CANDY, focus on fruits and veggies after protein, 100 oz of fluids a day, weights 3x a week, walking 30 minutes a day.
Challenges: work has a table full of candy for their "Operation Santa Claus" fund raiser. For 25 cents you can purchase a Lindt Chocolate Truffle (a weakness), or a $1 gets you a cup of candy (hershey's miniatures). Last month I indulged because I happened to have cash on me after my morning coffee. This month, I'm buying a gift card at the coffee shop for my coffee and not carrying the cash so I'm not tempted.
Fluid intake - I have an app to help me track my fluid intake and it's set to a stretch goal of 110 oz.
Exercise - I have a friend at work who is also trying to stay in some sort of shape and is my walking buddy on our 15 minute breaks. Weights I can do at home on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I want to do a plank challenge - I think I have an app for that which I just need to reload onto my phone.7 -
New goal for October: do not go into hibernation.
It's cold, we had a snowstorm that dumped like 4 feet already, and I want to go home and curl up in blankets with a hot drink. I do not want to go outside.
But... I must go to the gym. 3 times a week is what I promised myself and my husband, and I'm not gonna break my 2 month streak.7 -

October goal: under 220!
whew, it's October already! I had some fun air travel adventures this weekend, which meant I had to lecture yesterday on about three hours of sleep. so I'm in recovery mode today, though I'm starting to feel less zombie-like.
I usually avoid halloween parties since I never have a costume I like/fit comfortably into, but maybe this is my year!
I'd like to finish up the 220s this month. last month I had a couple stalls, but I was slacking a little on the drinking front. 🍺🍷 my goal is to continue biking to work and on weekends as much as the weather allows (biking in the rain is tricky with glasses!), but I'll also be exploring winter-time-indoor activities for the coming months of freeze.
happy October everyone! 🎃5 -
@Terytha avoiding hibernation will be a challenge! no snow here just yet (probably in December), but morning temps will be dropping to the 40s/50s this week, which means biking will be much more chilly. I just bought myself longer sports leggings and a zippered sweatshirt (in smaller sizes than I'm used to!) as a way to support myself. warmer clothing should help with getting out there. maybe something like that will help with motivation! 😀6

Advice! I am attempting IVF and insurance is now requiring something called a Clomid Challenge - basically the doctors put me on Clomid (like crack to ovaries) to see how my body will respond to fertility meds before paying for the really expensive injection meds. I know this is going to cause water weight and other issues. Should I even bother weighing myself this month or just focus on my goals and see what happens?1
