This week at the gym I saw my friend, and she says to me “ I saw you standing over there but I didn’t recognize you, I thought you were one of the trainers that work here” lol Also, I’m doing higher reps with more weight and when I leave the gym and I’m walking down the stairs my legs don’t feel like jello and like they’re going to give out on me. Woohooo!27

I had to park in a remote parking lot and take a shuttle into a work meeting due to construction closing my normal parking lot. Well when I went to leave there was no shuttle in sight. So I walked the 4 blocks back to my car (at a brisk pace because it isn't the best neighborhood) and I actually felt great and not out of breath when I got to my car.
2 years ago I would have walked at a snails pace, stopped for a few breaks, and still been out of breath when I walked that far.28 -

Someone at the gym said the same thing to me, didnt think much of it til I read this. She said you work here, right? To tell you the truth I am smaller than most of the instructors!16 -
There was definitely signs of a cheekbone in the mirror this morning!31

I moved from a Lifestyle group (active weight loss) to a Maintenance group because I have been cycling the same 5 lbs for 4 months and I haven't been feeling well. 3 weeks into the new group and I am down those 5 lbs and starting to feel good again.19

I usually get weighed once a week (Mondays work for me) and take measurements once a month.
This time the measurements haven't been done since the first week of September but even I'm surprised by the results.
48.5cm down across all the measurements.22 -
I was squeezing into a size 22 when I started this journey. Today, I fit every single pair of size 12 jeans I tried on (except for the length...don't get me started on that s**t-show). I am pretty sure I was born a size 14.26

Too long? Try Lee Short Petite. It's one of the few options for small inseams nowadays.
Too short? Maybe someone else can help!3 -

I'm in a weird place where I haven't lost much weight on the scale but somehow my leggings look like pants now. The knees are so baggy.15

I went to the gym for the first time since everything started going wrong. I walked there without my lift partner, because he moved to Detroit.
I did the very basic 5x5 program with the app telling me what to do and how long to rest.
I did all the reps and all the sets.
I didn't drop the bar. I didn't require rescue from a spotter. I did a bit of extra stuff. I walked 4 miles home without anything mortifying or scarey happening with my body. I'm definitely getting better, and Monday, I can increase my squat weight and find out if I still hate OHP. (I do. Forever. I will ALWAYS hate OHP.)21 -
LOL... Another funny thing, a little embarrassing, but I used to use my stomach to brace my plate on. Basically use stomach as a table.
I keep trying to do it out of habit, and well, have had to clean up a couple of messes because plate tilts and spills. Can't seem to remember there's no stomach there to hold plate.26 -
My morning face is back! You see, I used to really like how my face looked in the morning, fresh and bright. The night face is always puffy and tired. But with all the weight, one day I noticed my good morning face was gone, and it it’s place there were eyes scrunched in by fat, and disappearing lips. But now that’s gone, and my good face is back, with normal lips and eyes!29

I was hungry towards the end of a long days work yesterday, bought a small bag of popcorn from the vending machine, best of a bad lot, approx 90cal, took one handfull and realised they were sweetened. Threw them out, I don't like sweetened popcorn and it's just not worth the calories. Didn't go back investigating anything else and just hung out till I got home16

Today is parkrun day.
The alarm went off just before 6am. Pitch black outside.
I lay in my nice warm bed, and listened to the howling wind and rain hammering down.
Debated staying in bed, well, because.
Had to get up as needed the bathroom.
Decided that I'd get dressed and see what the weather forecast was.
Forecast was totally dire.
Woke my son up as he always goes with me to parkrun.
Had a discussion about it, thought to have breakfast and then decide.
Weather still dire. Decided to go to the parkrun and see if the weather was better there.
It wasn't.
Decided to see if there was an umbrella in the boot of the car as we could then just walk it under the umbrella.
No umbrella. Son not looking very keen.
Tell son that I'm going to have a look as it was a different parkrun. Son decides to go with me.
Lots of trees - good, a bit of cover. Bad - leaves everywhere, so slippery. Not much mud though as tarmac paths all the way.
Decide to walk round the course as I didn't want another slip/fall, I have enough to recover from without adding more to my list of problems.
Had a very pleasant, fast walk around a lake four times in the company of my wonderful, wonderful son.
So, despite the weather, we got up, went and did it. Got wet but we dried out.
Very glad that we did it. Otherwise I'd have regretted it all day.
And if the weather improves, I might get to go out for a bike ride or a run later.
And, even better, got home to discover that England are through to the final of the Rugby World Cup. The day just got a whole lot better...30 -
Today is Parkrun day - we're in Canada - rather chilly! Started my WLJ in Aug 2018; did couch25K NHS December 2018 and in Aug 2019 started outdoor running with ParkRun! (Couch 25K was done on the treadmill at home). I don't really like running but love the feeling of accomplishing the 5K and the smiles from everyone else. Am volunteering today so need to wrap up warm! Would never have thought 2 years ago that I would be running every week. That's my NSV/20

This morning I was going to go to a 7:30 step class. I woke up a bit late but hurried around and was only going to be about 2 minutes late for class (I've got it timed to the minute). I got in my car to leave and realized my husband was parked behind me. So I ran into the house, got his keys and jumped in his car...only to realize that his car was completely frosted over. I was going to take time for this to be cleared. So I was too late to go to class. I thought of just going back inside and skipping a workout, but instead I went and did some running/walking on the indoor track, some lifting, and 100 cals on the rower. It may not have been as high intensity as my class, but I still was active.37

I wore an old pair of work trousers to work which I couldn't even do up a month ago. It's about a week since I discovered that I could do them up but they were still really tight. I wore them today and although they are snug I can sit and stand comfortably in them. It won't be long before I retire my newer pair as I regularly have to hitch them up now and have been wearing leggings underneath them at work to reduce that. Since the newer pair are new I want them to last as long as possible though! But still while losing.17

So I ran 5.16 miles today. In a 9:55 pace. I looked back at my run history and my first earnest run was April 2nd. I ran 2 miles at a 13:14 pace. My average heart rate was also 10 bpm higher than it was today.
It’s taken consistency and dedication to get here and I am well aware that a 9:55 is by no means blazing fast but I’m proud of how far I’ve come!36 -

I'm certainly impressed. Your starting pace is the probably the only pace I could maintain even if I was being chased by bears. My endurance is pretty good on a lot of things (swimming, rowing, etc) but running is apparently not something I was built for. (stupid knees) You should be pleased as punch with improvement like that from any point in your chosen sport. I'm so happy for you!9 -
Today I cycled 17 miles.
This was a major achievement and something I didn't think I'd be doing again this year.
The only downside was that my lovely husband tightened up the bolt on my seat as it was wobbly and had to remove the seat and seat post to do it. But he didn't get the seat back in quite the right position - it was a fraction too high - so now I have a slightly sore tail end.
It was worth it though.
Maybe next week, if I can fit in some more rides beforehand, I'll be able to tackle one of my big hills again.
You have to aim high sometimes!22 -
I was looking at apartments and taking pictures today.. captured myself in one of them and actually liked the way I looked. Before I lost the weight (20lbs), I was always really unpleasantly surprised about how big I looked in pictures14

We went to the Magic Kingdom today. My husband, toddler son and I had plenty of room together in the Haunted Mansion doom buggy and Under the Sea clamshell. I can think back to just a few weeks ago when it was a much more snug fit.26

Went to a store an tried on a pair of trousers They were a little too loose to my liking and I wanted a size down form the size 36 (US size 4 I think UK 6 I think) Deeply disappointed that they don't have it in 34.
I have outgrown one of my favourite stores at the bottom end19 -
My tightest slacks from 7+ years ago fit beautifully. Also it's that TOM, and my go-to work pants from the last year are falling off despite the bloating.
I think my biggest NSV is that I am no longer living in fear that I'll eventually regain the weight.33 -

Heard that. Coming up on two years maintenance of a 45 pound loss. Now I know that if I am mindful of what I eat and log it all, I can keep it off forever.

I have little to no double chin in pictures now!!!! No more extending my neck & worrying about it while posing for pictures! & I didn't realize how much weight fell off my face until I compared these pictures. Yay!!👏

Oh wow! That’s awesome! It’s weird to hear that but sort of nice, it shows that we’re putting in the work. Good for you, keep up the hard work!💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽7
