Woohooo!
Someone at the gym said the same thing to me, didnt think much of it til I read this. She said you work here, right? To tell you the truth I am smaller than most of the instructors!
Oh wow! That’s awesome! It’s weird to hear that but sort of nice, it shows that we’re putting in the work. Good for you, keep up the hard work!💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽7 -
This is great, because my scale weight is plateauing this week and I need another way to measure my successes:
-My friend said recently "You're looking skinnier!"
-My pants are falling down... all of them (holding them up with belts and drawstrings for now)
-My shirts are too big now
-I am building muscle, can lift more, and have higher endurance
-I am learning that the weight doesn't matter at this point, but lower body fat % and higher muscle % (which might even mean weight plateau/gain)
-My skin is clearer
-I have more energy
-I feel more confident and generally happier19 -

Love your before AND after face! Lovely!8 -
ElizabethKalmbach wrote: »So I ran 5.16 miles today. In a 9:55 pace. I looked back at my run history and my first earnest run was April 2nd. I ran 2 miles at a 13:14 pace. My average heart rate was also 10 bpm higher than it was today.
It’s taken consistency and dedication to get here and I am well aware that a 9:55 is by no means blazing fast but I’m proud of how far I’ve come!
I'm certainly impressed. Your starting pace is the probably the only pace I could maintain even if I was being chased by bears. My endurance is pretty good on a lot of things (swimming, rowing, etc) but running is apparently not something I was built for. (stupid knees) You should be pleased as punch with improvement like that from any point in your chosen sport. I'm so happy for you!
This is so kind of you to say! Also i'm impressed that you row! I attempted that once (on a machine) in college and totally messed up my back! I'd love to though, seems like such a great workout.5 -
Woot! Just hit a personal best for my deadlift today! I completed a 1x5@100lbs this afternoon - so excited!!32

I’ve been struggling for clothes for a few weeks as the seasons change as all the winter clothes I dig out are swamping me in a very unflattering manner. I dug out a bunch of skirts from 20 years ago that I’ve never been able to bear to throw out because I loved them so much after I had my youngest daughter and had dropped the baby weight.
I’ve very rarely worn a skirt for a very long time because I’m very short so the lengths are always an issue, but these skirts were always great as far as that goes. They’re actually a little big on the waist now but because so many years have rolled round the shape is back ‘in’ again.
Every. single. person I saw over the weekend told me how good I looked! I may have a stone to go to my goal but that was a lovely boost!31 -
I notice that I naturally sit up straighter now, since there is less weight in the chest area. I can also sit cross legged with no back support for much longer.25

Tried on a size large jacket the other day and it was loose.21

I've gained enough confidence in myself to know I deserve better than what my current relationship was giving me, so I broke up with him.65

I LOVE THIS!!!6 -
The shop girl helping me Saturday told me “You have to fit your curves first!” The NSV is that the “curves” she was referring to were not my hips/thighs, but my shoulders and biceps, which were clearly on display through a thin clingy sweater! I don’t have naturally broad shoulders, so it was nice to see the thrice weekly upper body sessions are producing results!18

It is a positive and kind of a negative NSV at the same time. I pulled out my favorite flannel shirt today and instead of bulging out of it like I did 80 lbs ago, I am swimming in it. But the jeans and t-shirt underneath are form fitting perfect and several sizes smaller than I wore at the start of my journey. I'm still wearing the flannel, it's a great reminder of the hard work I put in this year and it is so comfy!

Reset myself (mentally as well as physically) and then pulled the last set of 5. In the past, I would just stop if I missed a lift. Felt good to work through a setback and reach the goal I set.
So impressive my friend! Those are those Superman moments you speak of!!!!! Have fun fishing!7 -
My short term memory is sometimes a sieve so pardon if I already posted this.
I recently wore jeans.
In public.
For the first time since 2013 or so.

Today for the first time ever I was able to do more than ten full chin-up/pull-ups for five sets. I used to need 40lbs of assist on the machine to do that, and was able to do 3 or 4 chin-ups without any assist
Yah for me33 -
I was still going through the "can't really see the difference" stage. I have to take a photo every month for a weight loss challenge and I wear the same shirt for each one. Aside from the bad hair do as I had just finished a bike ride, this feels pretty good!44

Wow!! Huge difference in such a short amount of time. Your hard work is paying major dividends. Congratulations!!!!4 -
I hit my 500 day streak of logging on MFP!43

I did not want to run this morning. Not at all. We had our first skiff of snow last night and the temp was right at the freezing mark. But I dressed for it and headed out the door anyway. And of course you know how the rest of the story goes......I had a good run and am very glad that I went. Which is exactly how I knew it would be. And yet I had tried to talk myself out of going. I guess the NSV is that I was able to over ride my default setting of sitting in a warm house with a cup of coffee in hand.34

Day 5 of no headaches since starting to watch what I eat again. Also blood pressure has been good.28

I can wear a medium shirt and last year I was in a L-XL. I also can run for 5 minutes on the treadmill which I did not try until this past month because I was scared of losing my balance and falling. I also tried HIIT for the first time this past week and I was able to do a lot of the exercises without much trouble. (I had stayed away from of it due to fear also)22

I'd like to share my Halloween outfit for today.
Sorry it's in a bathroom I'm at work.
I bought this coat years ago to wear over my steampunk outfit. It does up with three little belt clasps. Previously, I needed the corset on to do it up at all.
Today, with just a t-shirt and some leggings, it does up at its tightest setting.
Also I've scared three people by pulling the hood down and just staring at them lol.

My bust has shrunk 3/4"! I mean, it's not much in the grand scheme of things, and my waist has shrunk several inches so it's not helpful proportionately, but it gives me hope that it will shrink more.28

Just had to buy a pair of size 6 pants!!! My size 8s keep falling down. They are kind of snug but should fit just right in a couple weeks. Haven't worn a size six in about 5 years before I got pregnant with my first!

I took a bite of a Halloween treat, and it was not good. I threw it away rather than eating it anyway!30

NSVs are small (but feel huge) and come at any time, case in point; This morning I went to a favored diner I hadn't been to for a while. Upon turning to greet me the usual hostess was startled, "look at you" 😊. I obviously was standing and looking much better than what she remembered last time. Boy, that feels good!!24

Had a random woman in an elevator say "oh my gosh your dress, i love that! also your shoes! you know, you just look really great!" then she turned to my husband and said "you better buy her a drink or something because she looks awesome" It was SOOO flattering, and she obviously doesn't know what i used to look like so for me it was totally just a validation that I must be carrying myself better and generally taking more pride in my appearance.40

The good news: I didn't eat any Halloween candy! The not so good news: I didn't buy any because as has been the trend where I live, I got no Trick or Treaters. It would have been pointless.16
