I'm feeling very discouraged and I don't know what to do. I am angry at myself and so disappointed. I constantly see the number on the scale going back up whenever it goes down. I've never been at this much of a standstill before. I thought for sure I would be under 230 by now. Today the number is 234.2, but I'm sure tomorrow or within the next few days it'll go back up again. I have not been recording each weighing in here as you can see, but there have been times where I've gotten down to 232, and then there have even been times this month where it's gotten all the way up to 238 ):

In my head I know I can get to under 230 eventually. I've come this far, I've lost over 85 pounds since the very beginning. But it just feels so far away, and a part of my brain just tells me this is it, this is the lowest I'll be at, I'm always going to be stuck at over 230... That I'm done, I can't lose anymore, I've reached that point where I'm stuck forever...

Oh no!! What a terrible feeling. I don't understand big weight fluctuations either (I certainly have them too). But as long as you know 230 will happen (and you know it will) then you've beat that negative voice that tries to convince otherwise. I'm so glad you shared your struggle. It helped me not feel so alone in my struggle. You've been, and continue to be, such an inspiration - hugs.

Thank you as always - I love seeing your posts! It is great reading about your journey. We're in it together for sure!

    An update:
    10/24/19 - 231.8
Not gonna make my goal of 224 in the next 6 days... but at least I'm starting to see more progress. I suppose even if I didn't make my goal, I still won in the end as I at least lost something over the course of this challenge.

I'll start a new thread for the next challenge in a few days! Happy to see that everyone has been trying so well this round!

Not where I want to be and not going to reach my goal but at my age I lose pretty slowly and I’m just happy to still be heading in the right direction. Also my goal is 170 which my doctor set for me so happy to be so close to it! Good luck everyone!!

I am so pleased that I have hit my CGW. This is due, in no small measure to the accountability of posting here week after week, and seeing how hard everyone is working towards better health and fitness.

Never give up! Never give in!

😍I changed my CGW to Level 3: 152.8, in great trepidation, but here I am, and with 4 days to spare. 😍

This will take me to my lowest weight in 40 years. I'm doing it 5 lbs at a time!
It has taken me almost 5 years to get here!

Challenge Starting Weight: Aug. 1: 257.4
    Challenge Level: 3-4 stars
    Challenge Goal weight: under 240

    Aug 1: 257.4
    Aug 15: 254.4 down 3lbs
    Sept 1: 251.4 down 6lbs

Sept 8: 251.0, down .4 lbs since last week, 6.4 since start of the challenge. Was at 250.0 yesterday. Sundays and Mondays are always seem to go up a few decimal points...

Sept 15: 248.6 down. 2.4 since last week, 8.8 since start. Best this week was 247.8 yesterday and Friday. Not bad of a “gain” after quite a tailgating experience yesterday! (In state rival, college gameday, 14 hours of tailgaiting and football only to go home 1 minute into the second quarter due to the second lightning delay, torrential downpour, and flash flooding. Watched the team lose by blowing an opportunity at the last second due to a bonehead mistake)

Sept 22: 248.4. Down .4 since last week. Best this week was 247.0 yesterday and Friday. Tailgating did me in yesterday; the team won 72-20. Next 3 weeks off tailgating, but they're going to be busy. Next weekend is our anniversary followed immediately by my birthday mid week followed by back-to-back weddings the next 2 weekends after that. I am going to have to practice the self-control I did not show yesterday. LOL.

    Sept 29: 246.4
Oct 6: out of town, no official weight

Oct 13: 244.4. Down 2 lbs from my last official weigh-in 2 weeks and and 4 lbs over the last 3 weeks. Between my anniversary, my birthday, and 2 weddings, i put on some water weight that made the the last 2 weeks feel like maitenence weeks, but the past few days have been a pretty dramatic drop (243.6 yesterday). What that tells me is that even though I haven’t denied any indulgences (2 mini cupcakes at last nights wedding!) i have been making overall sustainable choices for this journey. I did change my goal for this challenge, however, because “under 240” is more realistic with 2 weeks left than my original 232.

Oct 20: 245.4 down 12lbs ffor the challenge, but up a pound from last week, which makes sense since we had a “homegate” day yesterday and I’m full of breakfast pizza, cheese puffs, ribs, mashed potatoes, and stuffing. And drinks. And Friday was walking taco day at school (don’t be fooled by the name, it’s all taco, no walking. lol). But i am down an inch on my waist and an inch and a half on my hips, so even if the scale didn’t move, my measurements did.

Oct 27: 241.8 yesterday for a 30 lbs total loss and 15.6 lbs loss on challenge. Up a bit today after tailgating yesterday and late night dinners 3 days this week screwing up my digestive routines. Probably won’t hit 240 by Wednesday unless i get a perfectly timed “whoosh” of water weight from this weekend.

By October I hope to lose the last 8-10 pounds and be in maintenance. I have been doing this for a year now and assumed I would already be there, but alas I am still working on it. So good luck everyone! My weigh in days will be every Saturday. They seem to be my best days and the lowest.

    Challenge Starting Weight: 143.7
Challenge Level: 2 (technically my goal is to lose 8.7 pounds)
    Challenge Goal weight: 135

08/01: 143.7 I think this is a little higher than it should be, but we are starting here.
08/03: 142.2 I've been here for a couple of days now, hoping for a loss next week
08/10: 139.6 this seems super low today. It will probably bounce up a bit, but I’m happy with it today
08/17: 142.1 I have not been doing great this last week. Monday I’m back on track I matter what.
08/24: 142.1 same as last week but that’s ok. The last couple of weeks I have not been on my best game!
8/31: In Texas to deal with husbands dad’s stuff

Total Loss For August:143.6 = a loss of 0.1 pound (not a great month, lol)

    9/01: In Texas NS
09/07: 143.8 I’m on a diet break right now so this is pretty good
09/14: 143.2 Just getting back into the swing of things. Looking to finish strong and around 141.xxxx
09/21: 143.7 was a lot lower yesterday, but ate Chinese for lunch. Sodium I am sure
09/28: 140.9 super excited about this. Have seen this number a couple of times before. Hoping it will stick
09/30: 140.9 I am going with Saturday and Sundays number. Today was 145.9 beer and lots of it yesterday.

Total Loss For Sept: 140.9 = 2.7 pounds
Total Loss For Challenge: : 2.8 pounds

10/01:146.5 I changed up some medications and think this is just water retention. Hopefully it goes away soon.
10/05: 141.5 I would have liked it to be a little lower, but these last couple of pounds in the 140’s are rough.

10/12: 142.3 was lower all last week but had a couple of beers last night. Darn weekends and their beer.

10/19: 141.5 still hanging out in the 140's. At this rate I am going to be lucky to lose anything this month!

    10/26: 142.3 booo!!!

MY NAME IS DONNA. I AM 59 YEARS YOUNG & FROM THE MIDWEST USA. I AM APPROX 5’ 5” TALL.

    Start date: August 1st, 2019
    Challenge Starting Weight: 202.0
    Challenge Level: ✴✴✴✴
    Challenge Goal weight: 184.0

August 01: 202.0 Where am I going to go with this? To the Moon, Alice! (The Honeymooners, Sorry, I’m showing my age!) I feel good about this round.
August 08: 195.8 I have worked hard this past week & am keeping the slip-ups more in control. However, I’ll never be perfect so I am just happy to continue the losses, no matter how big or small! This week was a good week.
August 15: 195.4. I’m grinning ear to ear to see continued downward trend. Hard work is paying off!
August 22: 196.2 Went up higher yet, but I’ve dropped it back down a bit. On my way to better, bolder, brighter, beautiful!
    August 29: 195.4 Better.
    August 31: 192.6 Even Better

Total Loss for August……………… -9.4 lbs. Lost

September 01: 192.6 Trying to stay strong over the 4 day Holiday weekend!
September 05: 194.6 Bit by the holiday on the *kitten*!
    September 12: 195.4 I can do better!
September 19: 195.0 Travel hurt me this past week. But down a touch and every little bit helps!
September 26: 196.6 Travel again, home last night, bad weigh-in today & lack of movement in car. More travel today. I hope to lose this water retention this week & be back at home in my “safe zone” where sticking to plan is much easier!
September 30: 192.0 Finally I beat the travel bloat! But traveling again today! Ugg.

Total Loss for September………….. -0.6 lbs. Lost
Total Accumulation of Weight Loss for Challenge………… 10.0 lbs. Lost

    October 01: 194.4 Direct after-travel weigh-in
October 03: 191.6 Working hard on this. 2 more days of travel upcoming and the next weigh-in will be directly following it. I hate when that happens and I have to report temporary bloat!
October 10: 191.8 I lost all of my fabulous progress this week after taking 2 different trips. Lots of driving/car sitting & restaurant food. Not always the best of choices. I hope much of this is fluid retention. I will be working on the damage all week! Never say Never!
October 17: 189.0 Okey Dokey. That is more like it! It will be nearly impossible for me to lose 5 pounds by the end of this round with my age and health conditions, but trust me, I’ll give it all I’ve got! I would love to make goal!
October 24: 188.4 Yikes, I didn’t even realize that we were this close to the finish line! I doubt that I can lose 4.5 pounds in one week to make my goal, but I’ll take it as far as I can go. I am still very proud of this round!

Had a really wild ride this last week. The Friday (the 25th) after last weigh in I dropped to 246.1. Then proceeded to shoot up to 251 by the 28th. And now today down to 247.8. First week like this for me. Kind of crazy. I didn't do anything different. But I guess this is the start of my body fighting back and I need to change things up. Next challenge should be interesting for me.

    October 30: 188.0

Total Loss for October………. -4.0 lbs. (after losing day 1 after travel water weight first).
Total Accumulation of Weight Loss for Challenge……….. 14.4 lbs. Lost

    Total Challenge Loss: – 14. 4 pounds

I am so pleased that I have hit my CGW. This is due, in no small measure to the accountability of posting here week after week, and seeing how hard everyone is working towards better health and fitness.

Oct 31: 242.6. Was back at 241.6 yesterday, went out for margaritas and mexican food last night, so i get it. 15lbs lost over the past 3 months for a 5lb per month average. Ready for the next three months!

    10/31: 140.7 uuugghhhh

Total Loss For Oct: 0.2 pounds
Total Loss For Challenge: 3 whole pounds which averages to be a pound a month!
