What's Your Most Recent NSV

Another one.
My current jeans are a little too big. Still wearable but I’ll need a smaller size soon.

I was at a local non-chain owned thrift store today and found several high quality jeans of the same brand, all 10’s. $6 & $5. (UNHEARD of in my area, Goodwill upcharges $10-$15+ for used jeans where I live. Often you can see that the item has a target clearance tag and the thrift store is charging more than targets tag which is still attached to the garment)

I bought 4 pair, 2 of them flannel lined. Perfect for the bitter cold months coming up.

I am SO proud of myself for buying jeans knowing I’m so close to them fitting (that was a rule I had for a long time, no more buying things because I want them to fit “someday”)

And the $ I saved feels so nice. My total spending today is equal to a single pair of fast fashion jeans I almost bought last weekend because of the before mentioned too large jeans I currently have.

Now I’m SO motivated to smash out workouts and watch these jeans fit marvelously.

I wore a dress today and felt like a million bucks in it. I can’t remember the last time I wore one.

Actually getting back on here after avoiding it for months.

Logging 200 days here on MFP! It may seem small but for me being consistent means accountability. I need this! Also I had a friend whom I hadn't seen for a while hug me and say " You're getting so skinny!" I have a long ways to go and skinny isn't my goal but it was still nice to hear!! 😊

A PB on my 12km run. I am so happy with that. In the back of my mind I am toying with the idea of a half marathon in 2020 but some uncertainties wrt to work schedules are not making it a given yet.
Also husband is back to running He's on 6 now again

Two personal bests in the gym yesterday - bench press 5 sets of 3 at 140 lbs and 5 sets of 5 pull ups (starting on a plyo step).

Also, I went to the bank this week to cash my paycheck, and I think I saw one of the employees notice my shoulders and chest.

During my lunch break today I quickly phoned my Mum to touch base and she asked me what I was doing this weekend. When I told her I was booked in to do a German Christmas Baking Course she replied in her huffy voice “I don’t know why you would do that. You don’t even eat it”.

Normally I would have been upset or offended because she can’t just be happy for me. There is always judgement and criticism around how, what, when and where I eat. But today I simply replied “because I enjoy it”.

That, my friends, is a huge NSV for me xx

I'm sorry you have to deal with that attitude from someone who should be supportive.

Also I too very much enjoy baking and cooking goodies. I don't eat much of it- I give it away. No one seems to complain about me sharing the wealth.

My NSV for the weekend was another 'your head knows, but you finally feel the truth of it' moments.

In the spring, someone in my life and I talked about how we each wanted to start a healthier approach to life. After a couple of weeks, he began to drift from his plan and then eventually gave up on it completely. On my end, initially I was using MFP inconsistently and so wasn't making as much headway as I wanted. But, 88 days ago I began logging every day because it reinforced my determination and gave me cold hard numbers to use when making my choices. Though I'm imperfect in my efforts, and I can't always see any physical changes myself, I'm at the point where family, friends and coworkers often tell me they see the results and how proud they are of me.

That other person frequently orders delivery or brings home huge amounts of fast food. Last night when I looked at the stack of three pizza boxes he was calling his dinner, I had my moment of clarity. 88 days of sticking to a goal is all that separates us. He could have been equally successful, had he put in his own 88 days. Each time he mindlessly gorges takes him another step away from where he wishes he was. Each pre-planned meal takes me a step closer. That's all it is - 88 days of choices.

The time flew by, and so now I'm looking ahead with a new appreciation of what I can accomplish by Day 176

This really resonated with me. I have had many 'ups' and bad days along my health journey. But instead of focusing on 'what could have been' if I had been 'perfect', I need to remind myself of where I would have been without all the progress I have made. As they say, the time will pass anyway.

I walked to Pilates in new leggings that were pretty darn flattering.

Shopkeeper locking up for the evening said,”Girl, you look like a million bucks!” as I walked past. It’s a super fashionable men’s boutique and this guy always looks like he’s stepped right out of GQ. That meant a lot since I let myself run towards the “slob” end of the fashion spectrum the past few years.

Someone commented after class that I’m looking really “solid” from behind (we’ve been taking the same classes for years- she likes the back row and I always go for the first row).

But best of all, my balance is finally improving, I’m not falling out of every balance pose, and it’s silly, but after class, I realized I can stand on one leg to put each sock on, without having to prop myself on something. That is a big deal for me right there!

And I went shopping at Macy’s with a very petite friend yesterday for a mother-of-the-bride dress. I had to size down twice and realized I ended up with the same size she wears. That was a shocker.

I’ve got a dress and a backup dress. And both look great on me! And I bought some sexy heels and makeup, lol. I haven’t worn either in years. May need lessons! I feel all Pygmalion.

Yesterday I got hit on by a very young ripped guy at the gym. I'm pretty sure he misjudged my age, and as soon as I told him I was married he backed off. At this time last year, someone mistook me for my sister's mom. She's six years older than me. I expected to look more fit, but I did not expect to look so much younger.
