I have a curious question and my experience losing weight in a sensitive area of life. I honestly have no one to ask in life and would be too embarrassed to any way.
When you were heavier were you having issues getting and maintaining a certain thing for intercourse like I was? I just wonder if that effects most guys that are heavy, a small percentage or just me or what?
Now down 73 pounds its insane what is going though. It happens at the drop of a hat now as the saying goes. I notice I get nocturnal ones every single night as well.
Any info will be appreciated and I'm sorry if that was TMI. I apologize if your not supposed to discuss this on the boards. Just curious what others experiences were in this area and losing weight? Ladies I especially apologize for the subject matter.

Obesity can be linked to low testosterone, and in those cases, symptoms may be reversed with substantial weight loss as you have done (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3955331/). That sounds like what you're experiencing.16

lol... no shame bubba...... Yes, I had issues when I was heavier. When I lost weight, most of that went away. Actually had really high testosterone , but also had high estrogen. Estrogen blocks the effect of testosterone.12 -
OP,
Did you know that one pound of fat needs about a mile of nerves, arteries, veins and capillaries? It's the main reason of the why of the cardiac problems. Since the penis in a special form of cartilage needing blood to swell, you have more blood to make it swell. That is in conjunction with all the testosterone swimming in the brain and body. I find that when I at my weight of 205 as opposed to my yo-yoing weight of 235, it's a little bigger as well.8 -

Yup, found an inch or two. Actually became supper lean OP. Has the exact same problem. Test and LH tanked. Gaining weight to help with that now with some success.5 -
ED (erectile dysfunction) is quite common in obese individuals, with the risk increasing with increasing BMI. Here's some info on the subject.... https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/24720114/
As well, weight loss can treat ED... here's an exert form healthline... Losing weight may be one of the best ways to restore normal erectile function. One study found:
Over 30 percent of the men who took part in the weight loss study regained normal sexual function.
These men lost an average of 33 pounds over a 2-year span. In addition to weight loss, the men showed reduced oxidative and inflammatory markers.
By comparison, only 5 percent of the men in the control group had erectile function restored.
The researchers didn’t rely on any pharmaceutical or surgical options to achieve the weight loss. Instead, the men in the group ate 300 fewer calories each day and increased their weekly physical activity. The eat-less-move-more approach may be very beneficial for men who are looking for answers to ED and other physical problems.
On a side note, men are not alone in experiencing sexual dysfunction due to obesity, women do as well, just the physical issues are not as obvious.10 -
Excellent info guys, appreciate it. I'm just glad I lost weight for a whole host of reasons, this just being one.9

No shame in the game! Yes, low libido and horrible staying power when I was obese... 88 lbs later and changing my diet, lets just say the blood flows to all the right places now and a more normal libido has returned! I exercise every day and believe that helps tremendously too!7

Oh that's another thing. Lasting much longer, better quality for both. Wife is much happier.6 -
While I was fortunate enough to not experience ED problems while at my heaviest the one slightly related thing I have noticed since dropping over 100lbs is a definite increase in libido.
Not that I was blindly celibate before but I've found I'm far more keen, far more often these days.1 -
No beer belly obscuring the view makes it look bigger too.8

Also has to do with endurance. Getting worn out during the act as a result of poor fitness can cause things to um... go south? before conclusion.
There's a lot of vascular tissue which is also affected by poor fitness and diet. Elevated blood sugar, blood pressure, and cholesterol can mess up the plumbing.5 -
I should add that your libido can also suffer if you under eat. I lost about 250 pounds. There was a time near the end of my weight loss when I had no libido. I had no interest in sex - it didn't even cross my mind. I had been under eating for months. In addition to having no libido, I had hair loss, brittle nails, was constantly cold, and always thirsty. After realizing what was happening and increasing my calories it took months before I got my mojo back.
Everything is OK now (and much better than when I was morbidly obese). This is why so many of the veteran posters here urge folks to adhere to calories goals appropriate for the person's circumstances and why there is so much push back when people go under the default minimum calories (1200 for women, 1500 for men).15 -

Makes complete sense for multiple reasons.
From a hormonal aspect hormones are free cycling, so the effects are diluted as you mass increases. One of the key reasons why being overweight is so harmful that it forces the endocrine system to overwork.
From an anatomical aspect the human body is a bag of water and if that bag is larger in other places you limit the fluid dynamics in others. The corpora cavernosa and corpus spongiosum fill with blood, so if that blood is filling other spaces you're going to see a decrease in size.
Now I'm thinking of a PSA motivating men to lose weight.
...the more you lose the more you grow.

Thank you, I appreciate that. I wanted to know what others thought so bad but how do you ask people that? Ya don't, but I got the answers here.0 -

Yes, if people who lost weight like me, I'm guilty of this, if we were honest with other overweight people we could use this as a motivator. Your sex life will increase, become REALLY GREAT and your certain something will get bigger or look bigger and will work better. It took me a bit to word that in a PG manner.2 -
Finally a topic on this board that's not idiotic! Thanks for bringing this up (no pun intended.) Great discussion. I wish there were more topics like this and fewer of the silly stupid stuff.4

No prob. I was too chicken to bring it up before but I really wanted people's thoughts on the subject.1 -

If you find topics in particular forums to be idiotic (cough chit chat cough) you can hide them so you don't see that forum. If you want directions for that, let us know if you browse on your phone or on a computer.3 -
On a comical sense it is nice to be able to see it without a mirror. 🤣 This is the best side effect that I didn't even think of when I started to lose weight. It just didn't enter my mind or thought process because I was focused on other things related to losing weight like fitting into nice clothes again and not looking grossly overweight. My wife is definitely happy as well. Let's just say she wants it much more as well now. That is not a slight to me at all, I don't blame her at all. It was once a week, and not good quality. Now it's 3-4 a week and much better quality, longer lasting. Nice to hear afterward, well that lasted a long time. 🥴4

It's flagged, not reported. It won't go to the mods until there's 5 on it. Plus it's not true abuse, so it's just abuse of the abuse flag, for whomever flagged it.Mazintrov13 wrote: »kshama2001 wrote: »Finally a topic on this board that's not idiotic! I'm not sure about on mobile, but from the desktop, go to the forum main page, hover your mouse above whichever forum you want to be rid of, click on the gear that shows up, and click "unfollow." Then go to the top of the forum, just above where the categories are listed, and change "view" to "following." It will remove any of the forums you've unfollowed.2 -
My husband ' drive ' has increased a lot since losing a lot of excess weight. It's not something we discussed but it is noticable now.1
