Yesterday was slightly annoying. I was supposed to have my new direct report starting and was looking forward to inducting him (and getting some help!) But it then turned out that his paperwork hadn't all gone through so he didn't start. He's starting on Thursday, but it's annoying. Meant that my anticipated fun day of inducting turned into a day of getting bored at my desk. But I managed not to binge, even though I really felt like it. I allowed myself to have some treats in the evening, and ate back my exercise calories (which I'd been planning to bank), but overall I stayed in the green. Happy with that!
Yesterday's goals:
- Track all food and drink
- Be in the green with calories banked Was in the green but no calories banked
- Not have unplanned snacks/ binge outside the home I had one mini cupcake but left it at that. That's a victory!
- 45 min lunch break
- Read 1+ career development article
- Take regular ‘breathe/ reframe’ breaks at work to manage emotions Forgot about this, need to make a better plan for what these are
- Stay positive Could have been more positive
- Finish work by 6pm
- Talk to boyfriend in French
- Meal plan for tomorrow
- Dispose of Christmas tree
- Gratitude journal
- Lights off by 11
Today I'm going out for drinks and dinner with some friends. I'm determined to stay in maintenance. I've planned my eating and drinking and it is achievable. Just need to watch out for the drinking - when it creeps up I often cheat on my plan! (And end up with a hangover which I really don't want).
Today's goals:
- Track all food and drink
- Be within maintenance
- One water (equal volume) for every alcoholic drink
- Max. 6 units
- Not have unplanned snacks/ binge outside the home
- 45 min lunch break
- Read 1+ career development article
- Take regular ‘breathe/ reframe’ breaks at work to manage emotions
- Stay positive
- Finish work by 6pm or earlier
- Home by 11 latest

Good morning all! Sunny and cold here in NJ - BRRR I guess winter has finally arrived.
Today is the first day of a brand new semester! Looking forward to meeting a new group of students and trying some different things both in and out of the classroom. I'm teaching a research writing course again after a few semesters' hiatus, which is a nice change.
I'm also ready to get back on track on MFP after a few days of incomplete logging and not setting goals. For whatever reason, every so often the focus on counting calories and maintaining accountability starts to feel oppressive, and I need a break. The funny thing is how short this last break was. Although I hadn't planned to do so, I wound up logging my food and setting goals last night. It's nice to see habit kicking in when my motivation is low.
JFT Goals for Tuesday, Jan 21, 2020
• Complete food log and maintain a calorie deficit
• Pick up a padlock for the gym
• Meet with trainer for fitness eval and workout plan
• Make split pea soup and pack up some for Mom

Busy, busy day for me. I thoroughly enjoyed the 4 day break with my hubby!! Then Sunday my little guy fell and busted open his tongue so no sleep that night. This lead to sleeping and laziness all Monday. Now I've gotta get back to it!!!! I hope you all have a fantastic day today

This weekend was a good weekend although I didn't eat as according to goal as I could've, but it's a new day! Today will be great!6 -
Hello friends! I just caught up, glad to see everyone is doing well for the most part! I was quietly lurking for a bit - then just stopped logging in all together for a week or two! Not sure what made me hop back on today but I earned my 4 year badge 10 minutes prior to logging on so I found that pretty serendipitous! I know I'm here for a reason!
I'm 33 weeks pregnant -not sure where the time has gone? We had our baby shower on Sunday - it was perfect, and I felt so loved! We also did a 3D ultrasound and did some shopping the weekend before that. I'm still working full time, and DH is on week 3 of his new job so still transitioning. Needless to say, the fatigue has caught up, the house is a mess, we've ordered out or gone out way more than I would ideally like, my eating has been lots of cravings and less of what I need, I'm not sleeping whether its heartburn or snoring or general discomfort. But despite all the less than perfect I'm trying my best to enjoy this season of just DH and I that is coming to an end, and this season of carrying a human inside me too! I'm trying to just focus on the good stuff and not get swept away in the anxiety of whats next. I already did an intake with a clinician with my midwives office so if I do start stumbling down the PPA and PPD path I have clinical support already established. Anyway, I'm happy to be back here with you all!
Anyway, I have some small but simple goals I want to focus on for these remaining weeks of pregnancy.
1. 75 grams of protein daily
2. 75 oz of water daily
3. Minimize sugar intake
4. 1 chore in the morning, 1 chore in the evening
5. Don't panic - baby has a place to sleep, diapers, clothes, and food - the rest is gravy.
6. If you need help, ASK!10 -
TUESDAY:
1. Weigh in
2. Walk on both work breaks
3. 10,000 steps
4. 5 freggies
5. 10C liquids
6. Gym (cardio/weight workout) after work
7. 6 hours sleep

Recap M 1/20 MLKJ holiday: I work today but hubby doesn't so he will be home when I am done... rare for us on a weeknight.
1) Move hourly / stairs breaks / 5 somethings = Fitbit 7,094 steps, 250+ 12/14 & 26 floors
2) Prelogged everything but supper / net calories zero / 14c water = Hubby and I decided to stay home for supper instead of going out & I cooked something easy & reasonable. Then I had evening snack attack of Brookside (and no exercise cals to offset)... oops. Net cals -412 , sodium -1,586 (zowie!), sugar -34 , fiber excellent, protein good, 12c water
3) BC-CC (ugh) once I finally forced myself to start, not as bad as I thought
4) To-do's: post JFT weekly w-i / order tickets yay ~ 3 date nights w/ hubby / email P funny neither of us watched end of championship game, just too painful / updated ins. card in car finally / prep lunch for T / evening w/ hubby
5) Floss / retainers / bed & no tv 10:20 (treadmill before work T)
JFT T 1/21 ~ Yippee ki-yay! Finally got up to early alarm (ok, after several snoozes) and did treadmill workout before work. Not exactly my full distance but it's a start. Back in the habit again?
1) Walked 2.6 mi treadmill + cool down + stretched before work = yay me!
2) Move hourly / pace during noon webinar / stairs breaks / 5 somethings
3) Prelogged everything but supper / net calories zero (yay exercise cals) / 14c water
4) BC-CC / request email for f/u OAHC mgmt response / contact HD for webinar assist as necessary
5) Evening: boil eggs / put dishes in racks away / massage appt 7:30 / other?
6) Unplug 9:30 / floss / retainers / bed & no tv 10:20 (treadmill W before work)
I got home from work yesterday (hubby had holiday off) to several surprises: he disposed of dead mouse in trap in garage & he washed pile of dirty dishes. Since he no longer works from home, I am the chief dishwasher (we rarely use our old dishwasher) b/c he hates that chore... I was surprised to say the least, and happy, and told him how happy/thankful I was. He hates the phrase "happy wife happy life" (stubborn mule) but after 15 years of marriage (and 9 years together before that), he's learning it really means something.
@pridesabtch Gorgeous dress! I can't wait to see a photo of you wearing it. Also, love your "new" hair.
@mytime6630 I am related to or know at least 5 men treated for prostate cancer, and all are now cancer-free. Wishing you and hubby the best outcome.
@Faebert Yay for gym time! So happy you can work out (gently) again.
Welcome to more newbies! If anyone needs/wants more MFP friends, please read my profile before you send a friend request.4 -
@mytime6630 - I hope your husbands tests come back with good news.
I am up for a 5lb challenge, this morning I weighed 188.6 but think I better check tomorrow too as that seems low to me. Yesterday I was 190.2
@Faebert - you are such an inspiration, I really mean that. I am just in pain from my hip and you had major surgery and are still getting it done.
@AJB1014 - nice to read your update! Glad you had a wonderful shower and got spoiled.
Well yesterday was another bust on my goals. The only thing I accomplished was writing in my Journal.
Today I go get the post put in for my crown and get a filling. I think there are two more fillings when this is done after I get the crown put in.
I am not posting goals today as I think I’ll be sleeping most of it away after my dental appointment. My fear of dentists is being challenged this year.

Are we going to start the discard 5 again?
As I said the other day, I bought a goal dress. Very low cut, very sparkly, size small, that I expect to be wearing by NYE 2021 if not sooner. The 5 lb challenges are nice for me because it isn't daunting.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery for anyone else who isn’t well at the moment.2 -

I hope tomorrow’s weigh in recognises my recent efforts. I’m tired from cleaning my parents home and have looked at my house and it’s dirty! My dirt will have to wait as I don’t have time to tackle it this week.5 -

OMG! THIS IS TOTALLY US! hahahaha! I'm going to have to start following her! I didn't know she was on FB. I saw him read a letter from her on TV once and it was so funny, I had tears in my eyes laughing!2 -
