All kinds of people are ALWAYS smiling at me--when I'm oout and aboot...total and complete strangers (and a LOT of them)--I really really LOVE that!
I'm counting this as an NSV because it helps/inspires/encourages and ummmmmmm...it makes me "feel" stronger, more joyful or something like that in some good, strange but delightful and wonderful way!17 -
My doctor at my annual checkup told me I was looking really healthy, that he could tell I had been not only maintaining my weight loss but also building muscle. He said it made him happy because in family medicine it seems like more often than not people come back from year to year and have gained weight, or lose weight and then gain it back. He was happy to see I had been successful for a whole year. It's nice to have some professional validation from a medical standpoint.
I had someone come up to me at the gym and ask how I learned to lift weights, that they saw me and I looked like I was doing great. I told them I really appreciated it because I was having a down day. You never know when your kind compliments may make someone's day. I am so thankful for that woman!34 -
The parking spaces where I work are small and many spaces are even smaller when people do not park directly in the middle. Many cars are wide, also. Today I could only find a very small space and I had to use it. I was worried that I would not be able to even get out of my car. But I did!31

have had my weight off for a couple years now and no one comments on it and I miss it but had not seen someone for a long time today at the gym and she said you have lost weight, made me feel good!22

I am still getting compliments from colleagues that I don't see often on campus - 2 today asked if I lost weight and said I looked great!14

So go and put something heavy on your scale that is not your weight and it will wipe it’s memory with the new weight. Then weigh yourself.
My wife does that. I'm the something heavy.11 -
Boss’ birthday today with all the fixing (cake, etc.) Calorie budgeted my lunch to “afford” a small slice! It was delicious and I’ve stayed well within my daily goal.27

I was doing calisthenics and a guy was stretching next to the TRX setup/monkey bars. So I asked him if he was waiting to do a set, he could, because I was resting between sets. He said no, that I'd intimidated him enough and he was going home to cry.

Tried on a medium shirt and belt today. They fit, though the shirt was a little tight in the shoulders.21

Bought my first pair of pants in size 1234

I went 30 days straight sticking to my diet plan and no Late Night Snacking, which is my toughest challenge.
The amazing part is how EASY this month has been.
In the past, I used to be miserable on whatever diet program, just hanging on by a thread to get to the end.28 -

No late night snacking?! Tips. Please.

I had another person notice my weight loss today. Haven't had anyone notice since I reached 50lbs lost. At 60lbs down now so have pretty much been seen by the few people that know me in this country as I don't know many people here.
Another thing is that I got a decent note tip at work today. This just doesn't happen to me; the fat girl. On the very rare occasion I would be tipped the most it would be would be 20p. I see big note tips happen time and time again to the thin girls but not me even for doing the exact same job better than some of them. But again.. I'm not so fat anymore and the unfortunate fact is that weight does make a difference to how worthy I must seem to receive a tip.
Oh and some old man customer at work (not the tipper) tried to kiss me on the lips when he arrived. I managed to dodge that one! Ewww never had that happen before!

You too? I'm glad I'm not the only odd duck - I was fully expecting to be miserable and I'm not.6 -

Me three. I know I binge if I feel restrained. But I can have ice cream and hot cocoa with whipped cream three nights out of five. Apparently my subconscious thinks that ice cream, candy, and chips mean that I'm not on a diet, and so it throws no binge.11 -
Was moping a bit earlier - English side of family coming for visit, and I told them no Twiglets or other nibbles for me this time (can't trust myself). But just now, the picky eater of the group asked if I'd be willing to teach him some of my 'delicious, healthy recipes', and that made my day My low-fat Scotch eggs are a hit, apparently!16

Low-fat Scotch eggs?
DO TELL!
Reminds me of a Peter Wilde song.4 -

Then I noticed all the other disagrees with everyone else. I feel sorry for people who rain on others' parades, if that's the case.
Anyways!! I came down with a touch of the plague (I'm exaggerating - but I was very miserable!), but it's cleared up quickly and although I am not ready to resume my workout routine, I have an appetite and energy to go grocery shopping. I made some great choices at the stores today! And I weighed myself this morning and was down a whole bunch. I know it's totally not real (just from not eating hardly anything for three days) but seeing that temporarily-deflated number motivated me a lot. I know I can get there. This sickness was sort of like a 'detox' and I feel actually kind of refreshed and ready to make good progress now! I still need another day or two to completely rest my body but I feel in a healthy mindset and in a great place to resume control.
I read on here somewhere that on some devices it is really easy to hit the dislike button with a random thumb - one person noted that this had happened to them a couple of times. I choose to assume that this is the reason for some of the very strange 'dislikes' one sees on here Congrats on your speedy return to health and great shopping choices12 -
This weekend I went to a family wedding where I saw people that I haven't seen for 20 years. I was told that I had turned the clock back years and that I looked younger than when they last saw me, in spite of me taking the decision to stop colouring my hair and to go au naturelle! Of course it is an exaggeration but it did make me feel great30

35 minute 5k. Could have run the whole thing. People walking on the left and my son’s asthma slowed the time down.23

I know it doesn't seem like much but I had spinach today. I also had enough water and I'm proud of both of those things40

I have to buy new bras. The ones I was wearing are too loose in the band!24

I did 10 chin ups in a row for the 1st time today. This time last year I was 95 lbs heavier and could barely walk up one flight of stairs without being out of breath. Not bad for an "old man" of 55... Now on to 20 in 2020!

My pup and I went hiking today and I had enough energy to go the whole time!22

I ran up and down the stairs a bunch of times yesterday (I'm having house issues that required frequent basement checks) and I didn't feel tired at all. Those stairs used to get my breathing going.30

A good friend asked me last night when I was going to start competing in physique or powerlifting (she’s a power lifter). I was flattered, but demurred bc of my crappy hip and sub par squat. She insisted on knowing my lifts and was confident I’d do well for my age/size on the state level if I just competed in bench and deadlift...so...maybe I’ll join her team for a few sessions and see what the coach says 😬 def a confidence boost just to have someone ask me about competing!27
