What is the most disturbing thing that society accepts as a normal behaviour?

Admittedly, what might be disturbing to one person can be completely normal to someone else. That is, things that totally gives me the creeps might not even bother the person sitting next to me at all, and obviously vice versa. However, there are quite a few social norms which a lot of us tend to realize are actually pretty disturbing. What are some of the things that society thinks are normal but in your opinion give you the heeby-jeebies?

...wait, what, that's NOT considered normal?

It is possible to know people. They show you who they are. You just have to be looking.

Getting your "money's worth" at a buffet restaurant...gluttony I guess for the sake of a dollar value.

I've had people say it's not worth it for me to go to a buffet, because I'm a vegetarian and also probably won't eat 3 plates of food.

To me it's still "worth it" for the variety and getting to pick what I want.

Whereas I wouldn't go because there is no way I would ever get my "money's worth". I don't eat 15 dollars' worth of food anywhere, so... meh. Also, I can't take my leftovers home.

Will say some of the variety you get at buffets are awesome, though. :)
