2/1: 226.6
2/7: 224.6

Kind of disappointed in my loss this week but it is still a loss. I think it's related to TOM stuff as I tend to retain weight during this part of my cycle but still frustrating to be doing all the right things and not see the scale move! The lb loss was just in the past 2 days so hopefully the scale is moving again!
February Goals:
-Exercise 7 days a week! Crazy, I know but two of the days are active recovery days (yoga/pilates).
-Get under 220s for good!
-Work on making sure I get enough water in. I feel like I struggle to drink enough water (I get busy and forget!).13 -
Hi everyone this is my first time joining a online community but reading your posts makes me want to be part of your journey, together we can help each other.13

Height: 5'7"
Highest Weight: 254
End of January Weight: 244.7
2/7: 243 (-1.7)
2/14: 242.1 (-0.9)
February Goal Weight: 238.7 (lose 1.5lbs/week)
Final GW: 165 (then reevaluate)
I've lost count of the number of hours I've spent shoveling snow this past week and we have another storm on the way next Monday. It's a great workout but also hard on the back sometimes. Anyway, I'm happy to see a loss this morning, even if it isn't quite meeting my goal. I've already lost more this month than in all of January, so that's something!

Happy Friday everyone! I just wanted to say how much I love this group and how awesome everyone is! I commented on a different post and some people were just so rude! I'm thankful that we all have each other to help us through this journey! Ok...enough being mushy on this Valentines morning!14
-
Happy Valentine's Day everyone!! I agree @vegasgirl0825, this group is awesome. I only follow supportive groups (for a whopping total of two).
Valentine's Day Friday weigh-in!!
SW: 245 (doctor weigh-in in January - did not weigh again until 7 Feb)
2/7: 240
2/14: 239
Feb GW: a consistent 237
GW 1: 199
UGW: 155
Non-Scale Goals for February (posted 2/3):
- limit alcohol (10/13 day AF!!!!)
- lose 5lbs (1lb down in a week!!)
- walk 6 days a week, and begin couch to 10k. (Did not make "walking" goal but did increase steps significantly, AND have officially started Couch to !0K and completed week one - 3/3 runs!!)
We are all on a roll!! My husband and I aren't exactly romantic anymore (kids, busy schedules, no time, lots of other excuses), but this morning when I came down to leave for work, I caught him staring at me. I asked him what was up and he said, "I don't know, you look nice today." Unprompted compliments are the best compliments. Made my day.12 -
Wanted to check in and say hello to everyone and give a quick update. All you ladies really inspire me and are helping me stay dedicated. You are all warriors and don't forget! I'm gonna have another weigh in Sunday ugh. I went to the gym yesterday and had a good workout, was on the cardio machines 40 minutes which felt great. I've only been in the gym twice now ugh but hey! Good luck ladies!9

Side note: Someone earlier this month made a post about how the image in the mirror changes. I want you to know you're not alone. Many times a day, I'm startled at my reflection in the mirror. It seems as if I'm not looking at the ME I'm used to seeing. It takes a minute for me to feel the changes. My clothes are smaller, but I really don't FEEL smaller. People say something EVERYDAY about my weight loss. But when I look in the mirror, I don't see the dramatic change that they do. I'm hoping this will change over time. I've even talked to my sister about maybe needing to see a counselor.
When I talk about the mental part of my journey, this is exactly what I’m referring to. What I am trying so hard to do is to look at not only what I see on the outside but what is happening on the inside of my body.
When you look at what’s going on inside of your body… From the health of your teeth because you are eating healthier… From the health of your skin because you are drinking more water… From analyzing your blood work now in comparison to your blood work when you started your weight loss journey... from testing your cardiovascular and muscular endurance! Everything has changed! Seeing these changes from the inside out…in my humble opinion, will help you reach your goal weight… and more importantly maintain that weight for the duration of your life!

Good morning!
Today is my weigh in day. Had a loss and that is always good! I am very close to my first long term goal for 2020. I set these long term goals in January and were based on certain milestones. When I reach 10 lbs. lost in 2020 I get a pedicure! Yay!
I pick up my new piece of equipment that will allow me to do some strength training and I am very excited to add that into my routine!
Welcome to all the new people on the thread! This is a very supportive and informative thread that has been a lifeline for me during my journey!
@lillann61 unprompted compliments are the best! Great job on cutting back the alcohol, I am doing that as well and my weight loss has bettered from it!
@tarzan37 Ugh snow and shoveling. I do not miss those days! But a loss is a loss!
@FadedNovelty 1lb is a great loss! Especially if TOM was anywhere around
@BrownSugar174 Happy Valentine’s day to you too! Thanks for your encouraging posts, very inspiring! You are doing great and regardless of the BMI's the BSA's and the you know whats It's all about how you feel and you are doing fantastic!
@Cupcakecrusoe way to smash your goal…you can definitely reach the 200! Happy anniversary!
@kali31337 I am sorry you are having the TOM issues…only real benefit of menopause for me. Hope it levels off for you. Great job meal prepping to prepare for your classes!
@speyerj glad you enjoyed the yoga! I have been meaning to look into that because I feel my body and mind would definitely benefit from it! Good luck with the doctor’s appointment, how great that will be to finally not be on the blood pressure meds!
@bluffgirl67 glad you are able to get back to your routine and are feeling better! Holding is good when you have a week of not feeling well!
@ravenstcloud glad you are finally feeling better and are released to go to the gym!
@shorepine nice job sticking with your fitness in an otherwise hard situation!
@leadmare I am so excited for you and your new home! Sounds like you are really looking forward to it! Once you get in and all moved and unpacked…it will be so worth everything!
@aerohead21 that’s awesome that you did great on your exam! One indulgence is okay and sometimes you need to give yourself a break with your work load! Don’t beat yourself up about it!
@sharpdust Enjoy your anniversary! I like your attitude toward your week and great job for jumping back in and preparing. You are so right that we need to be flexible with ourselves.
@MuttiNM love your attitude and that you are looking at your journey overall! I like the healthy list of foods you like, great reminder that we can eat healthy and enjoy it! Great job on your weight loss since you started!
@aliciap0116 great loss and great NSV with the ice skating! So so so proud of you for taking the leap!

Happy Valentine's Day all! I hope you have a great day, whether or not you're celebrating.
Weekly Weigh In:
2/1: 251
2/7: 249
2/14: 247
This number really made me smile because I have not been in the 240s in years, like I previously mentioned, and now that I am a few pounds into it, I just feel so good. I am really doing it! I had to miss my first kickboxing class, but I had a terrible stomach virus and did not want to get sick on the mat, haha. So, I figured that was a good enough reason.
I haven't replied in awhile, but work and class is pretty busy for me right now, but I am reading them. Welcome to everyone that is new!
@RavenStCloud, glad to hear you're feeling better!
@speyerj, interesting Yoga practice, I have never heard of that before! I hope the doctor appointment goes well.
@pamiede, it is hard to see the changes, especially since we see our bodies everyday. It is a hard mindset.
@sharpdust and @aliciap0116 , thank you for the words of advice on the friends hang out, it is something I am going to have to learn to adapt to.
@bluffgirl67, I hope you get to feeling better soon!
@Aerohead21, great job on the exam!
@kali31337. great job meal prepping to set yourself up for success! It is so easy to just say "I'm going to go to the cafeteria".
@CupcakeCrusoe, great job! I am not a sushi fan, haha, but you enjoy! You can eat all the sushi I wouldn't
@BrownSugar174, great work! Your motivation is always so encouraging and positive.
@FadedNovelty, the scale is moving though, that is always a great feeling.
@Tarzan37, shoveling is the woooorst, I hate it haha, so props to you!
@lilann1961, unprompted compliments feel so good, also great loss and meeting most of your goals! You're killing it.
@katarina005, and you inspire us! Even if you've only been twice, that is great! You're working on forming a habit.
@mmccloy12, great loss and great work meeting your goals.11 -
I am over 200 pounds & I am also trying to lose some weight to get off medications. I had lost 17 pounds but, I have gained those pounds back plus a few more. I am working on being more accountable for my own health.15

I just found this group and I'm loving it! I'll join in even though the month is halfway over.
Age: 31 (for 10 more days!)
5'8''
SW: 292 12/2019
CW: 278 as of today

February goals have been to watch my macros more closely and so far I've done well. I'm hoping to get to 260 by the middle of April when my hubs and I take a beach trip for our anniversary.
13 -
I normally weigh in on Saturday but switched to today because I go back to work Monday (after being home the last 7 months with my new baby boy and my 2 daughters ) AND it's a new job closer to home! Anyway I decided to spend as much family time as possible with my kiddos and husband. I finally had my whoosh! Also, I previously had never posted my highest weight so I added that to this, because I don't want to forget that I accomplished that loss as well!
Highest Weight: 265--November 2019
Jan. SW: 255
1/31: 248
2/08: 250 (+2 lb, water fr exercise, I'm sure of it)
2/14: 246.6 (-3.4 lb)
Total loss since November 18.4 lb

Happy Valentine's Day lovely ladies.
@theleadmare The house sounds lovely esp being able to have a potting shed. Hopefully the inside will be exactly what you want.
@Aerohead21 Glad you did well on the exam. You're life is crazy busy and an occasional burger with fries isn't going to stop you from reaching your goal. I honestly don't know how you do it all.
@BrownSugar174 I agree. There are many aspects to being "healthy". Sure insurance looks at BMI but like you mentioned that doesn't take into account body type and other things. Being off medication, body measurements, blood work, etc are indicators of health also. Your doctor has the right idea. That along with your approach to overall well being is a perfect match. Nice loss for the week.
@speyerj Very interesting to see the origins of BMI. I had no idea the concept was that old or so "white European". Even with trying to make it a better indicator it seems to fail in so many areas. I wonder why it is still so widely touted as the be all end all?
@Savannah80 Good strategy making your runs with others. It is so much easier to talk ourselves out of doing stuff but letting others down is hard. I wish I put more effort into not letting myself down. Working on it. Thanks for the video. Doing things slow and easy is definitely my plan. I will think about doing the maintain a bit then go back to losing mode once I get a few more pounds. Makes sense.
@kali31337 You're doing exactly what you need to do. Going slowly and making good choices is the way to go. If you can squeeze in a short walk before eating lunch. Leave enough time to eat but walk first so you aren't tempted to skip it. Once you tom is over you will probably get a whoosh.
@CupcakeCrusoe You are crushing it this week! Enjoy your sushi night.
@FadedNovelty Losing 1lb is great! When the weight comes off at a slow and steady it is much easier to keep off in the long run. You're doing fine just stay focused and follow your plans.
@zinniss Glad you joined us. I'm may be biased just a bit but I think this group is fabulous!! Everyone is supportive, encouraging, and full of ideas plus willing to share ups and downs.
@Tarzan37 Great work topping Jan's loss. I've seen you logging all that snow shoveling and don't even envy that job. This month is only half over so plenty of time to work on reaching Feb goals.
@lilann1961 Congrats on this week's loss and goal progress. What a nice thing to hear from hubby this morning.
@katarina005 Great job on hitting the gym! I know some days are hard to get started but once we do the feeling of getting it done is awesome.
@mmccloy12 Nice loss and great work on hitting goals. Looks like you are giving the new treadmill some love and hope you enjoy your new equipment.
@torihudson6 Great loss and Congrats on getting back to the 240's! I hope you are feeling better and back to kickin' it.
@msdebb247 Welcome. Set small goals and plans to achieve them. Start with something simple instead of trying to do too many at once. Keep reading here for ideas and support. You can do it.
@cheesenobiscuit Welcome. Your beach trip sounds wonderful.
@lbostic89 Awesome loss!! Enjoy your family time this weekend.

I've been having a great week, I've been under my calories, done my exercise... and I'm doing between 35 and 40 minutes now, not just 30 minutes!! But, I did eat out yesterday and I know it was a high sodium day, so there's the jump. Bleh!! I'm not sure what the weekend will bring food-wise, or tonight for that matter, but I'll keep trying to make good choices. I'm not the least unmotivated at this moment!! Happy Valentine's Day my friends!!8 -
Happy Valentine’s Day everyone.
It was Valentine’s Day here yesterday (I’m in Australia). I’d be doing so well this week, even getting two workouts in a day most days. Well yesterday everything went out the window. After planning all my meals for the day I was close to my calorie allowance for the day. I ended up having a small piece of no sugar dark chocolate and a whole heap of salt and vinegar chips that hubby brought home for me (my biggest craving and enemy). I knew I had overdone it and would pay the price. Woke up this morning to a 300 gram (0.6 lb) gain. I’m upset about it but I’m not letting that stop me from keeping on going. It’s a minor setback and good lesson in why I shouldn’t over eat. So going to hit my workouts hard today so that I have a decent weekly weight loss to report tomorrow.6 -
Lord give me strength because there are goodies everywhere!9
-
I have been off of here for a few days because I've been so sick. It's just a cold but nothing is ever "just just". I've lost more weight without trying. I'm at 195.8 and not happy at losing weight fast, without trying, mostly because I don't want to gain it back when I know I'm eating sufficient foods. I thought I was, but I guess not. Haven't been able to track, however. I'm also not as angry as I sound, but I'm hyped on caffeine and sugar and anxiety so I can't think straight.
@aliciap0116 I agree that community is beneficial. It works for me, and I'm a huge hermity introvert.
@Terytha It is totally a numbers game. I think that eating veggies is a huge part of it, but it's definitely not the only thing, you're right. And yeah, when you're eating healthy it is so hard to eat everything you're supposed to.
@sharpdust This is a good reminder that everyone is unique. Someone (or some character, honestly can't remember) said recently that snowflakes aren't the only thing where they're all one of a kind. People are too!
@mmdeveau Exactly! It definitely sounds like a profound yet rough revelation. The deepest one for me was that if I don't do it now, in a year I'll be just as upset or more than I am now, because I hadn't done it a year ago. (Basically, prevent the future regret by learning from past regret.)6 -
Hello, and thanks for making this thread!
My official start/weigh-in is tomorrow, so I'm going to write out some basic goals for now until the end of this month. My biggest challenge will be with binge eating. I tend to eat my breakfast and then will have a second breakfast, then a third, then lunch, then... you get the idea. Non-stop eating, especially when I'm not logging it and being mindful.
Goals for February:
1. Drink 16 oz. of lemon water when I wake up
2. Meditate
3. Stretch for 10 minutes
4. Go on a walk for at least 45 minutes
5. Have a small breakfast and not eat again until noon
6. Log all of my calories and exercise via the app
Next month I intend to add some more goals. But I will keep it simple for now, as to hopefully form a solid routine.
6 -
@bidingmytime I find that if I'm not logging things before I eat them, I eat mindlessly (same with not planning my food for the day, which I didn't do today and resulted in my waiting way too long to eat so, of course, I went through a drive thru. I blew my sodium intake for the day but determined to make tomorrow a more mindful day. Glad to see you here!
I'm 5'3"
SW: 256.5 lb
2/1: 255.5 lb
2/7: 253 lb
2/14: 251 lb10 -
Today's been rough because Boyfriend is having a resurgence of his mental health issues and I have had a migraine most of the day. I got the shopping done, came home, and went right to bed, and we ordered pizza for dinner because I just did. not. have. it. And, you know, he wanted pizza. So we'll see how that sits with me. It worked within my calories, at least.
Tremendously excited to see inside the house tomorrow. Of course, if we like it there will have to be a home inspection to check for issues we can't see, and all of that stuff, and we'll have to call the bank and arrange the financing. But for this amount of space, for this price, in good shape, there's very little that would totally put me off it. I hate to say it, but I suspect that some of the reason it hasn't sold yet is that the racial composition of the area is changing and, um, some people in this city are racist. (sigh) Decent houseproud middle class people are people I can live beside, regardless of their color, and it's a decent quiet middle class neighborhood.4 -
@Danielle__S yes, I am the same way. I do not like the fact that I am imprisoned by this system of calorie and nutrient logging, but I guess that is what my current limitations are and I must abide by them in order to succeed. It wreaks havoc on my OCD, but I'd rather be obsessing over numbers than being stuck in an unhealthy body. Oh, I must be careful with my sodium, too! I'm one of those rare birds that prefers salty over sweet. Give me savory food every day over a banquet of desserts.
Thanks for the reply and good luck to you!
10 -
Happy Valentine’s Day! I am not behaving myself at all 😭 I need to get back on track before this behavior becomes a habit.12
-
I definitely gave into some goodies, nothing that put me over my calories but just a smidge over in my sugar and fat categories. The only reason I’m upset with myself is that I ate it out of stress versus mindfully eating it. That’s one area I’m trying to work really hard on.
@Aerohead21, you got this! Now that you’re aware of what you need to fix, you can work on it.7 -
@bidingmytime, I also prefer salty, savory over sweet! I can pass a sweet buffet without thinking twice. Put me in front of a table of snacks, portion control becomes nonexistent. Well it used to. Most days I have a pretty good handle on it. Now catch me around TOM all bets are off. That is the one time I actually crave the sweet stuff too. If I can find sweet and salty together. Look out!8

Happy Valentine's Day!!! 💜💞🤗 i hope everyone is having a wonderful day. I am so happy today because i have been able to lose 12 lbs since i started up again. Thanks everyone for the kudos, feels good!
@Danielle__S Well done!
@theleadmare crossing my fingers about your house! (and agreeing that people sometimes suck
@bidingmytime you can do this. Just think of where you'll be in a month or two whenever you get the urge not to log. And welcome!
@aerohead21 do carrots or sticks work better for you? back on the horse tomorrow, it's a new day!
@torihudson6 it's so hard when all this good stuff is around. you've got this, though.
@xprincesszeldax happy valentine's day! I know, isn't it so exciting to think about how much more awesome we're all going to be because of the things we're doing now?
IIiiiii ate all the sushi, as promised. And I went a little over my calories, from my rough guesstimate, but I'd say my guesstimate is pretty close, so I'll take it.
Didn't get a chance to go running today, so I'll have to make it up tomorrow. But that's probably for the best, because I made a whole crock pot full of beef tips today (my husband's favorite), and I forgot to weigh the whole thing in grams. And now he's eaten some so my weighing wouldn't be accurate and Oh well. So I'll have some extra calories to weigh against the unknowable beef tips (and I'll still try to estimate by volume, but I'm so peeved, )11 -
@bidingmytime I felt every word you said about the havoc on your OCD, I am exactly the same way, I have a spreadsheet for my daily weight that I also log on Libra lol, then I have my weekly measurements (waist, hips, arms, calves, etc.), then I have my Cal in, cal out, deficit table....I have been approaching this like a full time job. And it is! But my family and I deserve this!5
