589 calories left over on the tracker
02/08 - 155.9
673 calories left over on the tracker
02/09 - 157.9 - A little disappointed to see a 2 pound jump over night, but happy to have hit that new low yesterday. Going to stay the course.
557 calories left over on the tracker
02/10 - 157.4
350 left over in calories - less workouts than usual
02/11 - 158.2
Negative 475 - calories over
02/12 - 159.6 - I did expend a great deal of calories yesterday, but also ate a lot.
240 calories left over
02/13 - 158.8 - That will teach me to have a nice dinner once in awhile lol. Hopefully I work the rest of that off by tomorrow.
722 calories left over - my calories left over are based on 1200 calories per day, so I achieve those left over calories by exercise.
02/14 - 157.7 - I would really like to be below my start weight at the end of the 10 days, but tomorrow's festivities are going to impact my Day 10 weigh-in. I will work out lots today to hopefully start tomorrow weighing less than today.

I need some accountability. These last 10 lbs are brutal. I'll be in DC for work for the week. I intend to make good food choices, but eating out the whole time will be rough. Goal for this round is just to be down a pound because of that.

02/09- 156- I'm surprised it's not more. It's the weekend. I went out to lunch with friends and had a drink date last night. ugh. Sigh, and I have not been good today. Tomorrow is a new day. I will try to remember to drink more first.

02/14- 160 Yeah. I'm not surprised. I'm learning a lot. I was at a conference all week. They served us multi-course lunches and social hour hors devours every day. Sigh. I'm not good at limiting myself when excellent tasty food abounds. It is highly unlikely I will finish down at all this week. Seeing as it's my birthday today. We had doughnuts to celebrate at work and I'm eating out all weekend with family or friends. I will try harder...

Round 103 - Jan.28 to Feb.6
Female, 5’, 66 years. SW – 165, GW – 163 something, UGW – 140. (This really should be 125 or 130 but that seems like such a long ways to go and 140 would be a huge improvement.) The 12 hr. IF along with everything else (portion control, watching calories in foods, exercise) seems to be working well for me.
Day/Weight/Comment
02/07 – 166 – Out for dinner Thurs., for sure way over cals.
02/08 – 165.8
02/09 - 166
02/10 – 165.8 – Rather late to the game and thought about skipping the Round but then thought, “And would I end up making those cheat days? Oh, very possibly – just by accident, of course, you know.” So back at it. Off to the gym today and sunshine in absolutely blue sky after days of gray fog and snow.
02/11 – 165.6 – Sorting through papers and came across the Dr.’s handout on invisible GERD. Untreated it can affect your vocal chords! As someone who loves singing and has worked pretty hard at improving the last few years, this is major motivation. Of course, the primary suggested treatment is lose weight. The second is no food in the evening.
02/12 – 164.8 – So happy to see this. Made tuna quiche yesterday because my husband, who won’t eat it, was away and I love it. Thought I was way over calories but stuck to my determination to log and found out that I was ok – that kept me from giving up and eating random stuff. It helped that breakfast was a bit lighter and there was no cheese in the quiche. Also, with the invisible GERD on my mind, I was careful to stick with the IF. Off to the gym today and then careful grocery shopping – no bad treats, if they come in my house I Will eat them.
02/13 – 164.6 - Good gym time although I took it easy on the arms as they are sore from painting. Didn’t manage the shopping, so off to do that today. Stuck with IF and logging.
02/14 – 164.6 – Stayed with 12 hr. IF. Almost didn’t finish logging, had already shut down the computer, and then thought, “I’ve done all the measuring, and I’m not going to record it??” so I turned it back on and found that I was only 60 cals. over. I think that finding excuses for not tracking cals. is my brain’s sneaky way of slowly throwing it all out the window and being lazy.

This round I'm going to drop as much fat as possible; get my cardio back on track; and continue to redefine this diet for life. There are jeans I'm determined to get back into in the next couple of weeks. 🙂
Starting 104 at 169.6lbs
Day/Weight/Comment
02/07. 169.6
02/08. 169.6
Arrrgh, I posted then hit done instead of post 😡.
Condensed version: Carbs high but within tolerance. Macros & calories are good and protein is up. Rolling months calorie average is trending lower than I'd like.
Lots of salty food since Thurs has me on water overload so no proper weigh in. Waking morning weight provides better data than evenings with extra liquids on board. Until this big thirsty response passes I'll do a morning weight check.
I've only skimmed everyone's posts lately. Things are still backwards and upside down. I 🤗 appreciate all of you & thanks for the support.
02/09. 169.6
Holding steady at my usual evening with in
-no gain (blessings)
-no loss (not complaining just counting my blessings)
Carbs are way too high because I went for what's easy instead of what's right. Protein, fat & calories are all on track.
I'm lagging behind on exercise. The next few days will require extra effort to catch up and get myself off carbs. Stagnant is not progress particularly because I'm fixing my mistakes.
02/10. 168.6
I had to take off my jewelry for the scale to move. Thankfully I'm holding okay despite my well earned carb bloating.
Today I'm restricting meals to16 fasted/ 8 fed hours and working on protein based meals. Cardio might not happen but I'll do what I can. This week is already exhausting!
02/11. 168.4
This week is doing me in but I'm determined to keep weight loss going. I've had excellent carb control yesterday & today despite a shorter fast than I prefer. Time restricted eating has turned out to be the easiest form of appetite control I've experienced.
When my fasting hours are done I focus on my protein and managing my net carbs. Calories fall into place leaving me room to enjoy a high cal day once in awhile with no harm. Now if the rest of my universe would fall into place I'd be ever so grateful. 🙏🏽
02/12. 168.4 carried forward
02/13. 168.4 carried forward... again
The scale is messing with me because it "knows" how to push my buttons and it also "knows" I need it as an objective measure and it further "knows" this measure matters during medical appointments but this moderately priced house hold appliance does not "know" what a run on sentence is. The brainless digital object has been "punk". 😠 I'm not recording any up's right now when I'm diligently working my way down. On plan, macros & cals tight.

@MSWDiet Your rant about the scale was funny - not your frustration, but your rant LOL. When I was tracking with pen and paper prior to MFP, I too would just carry forward my last weight if I was doing all the right things and my weight would go up. On MFP, I some time will just not weigh for a few days (DNW) (I've seen others do this as well on here) - what ever it takes to keep on keeping on! Anyway, appreciate the humor.6 -
@kmfeig87 I am so very glad to hear that radiation is getting a little easier! I was thinking about you.5

Day/Weight/Comment:
02/07: 128.0 Good start. Met my protein goal yesterday. Probably won't weigh in again for a few days, just wanted an accurate starting weight. Today was a rest day but I ended up playing an hour of pickleball. Will do my leg gym workout tomorrow.
02/08: Went over on calories today, went to a party and made good choices but pretty impossible to track.
02/09: Played some pickleball outside, spent the rest of the day working and stayed well under my calorie goal but did not meet my protein macro.
02/10: Tentatively stepped on the scale - still at 128.0, phew. Hoping to stay on track today, I'm getting a cold, have a boat load of work to get through and didn't sleep well. Sort of a recipe for a disaster. Plus, I'm skipping my workout today and have a class tonight, feeling scattered and off kilter. Thinking a nap might help.
02/11: 127.4 lbs. Had a fantastic work out this morning followed by an hour of pickleball with my left hand, sort of getting the hang of it. Off to work and maybe look at some dresses if I get a minute.
02/12: 127.4 lbs. Great workout this morning followed by 1 hour of pickleball. Hit my protein macro yesterday and am on track to do it again today.
02/13: DNW, was too cold to undress for the scale . I'm ready for sun and summer! Hit my protein macro yesterday and stayed under calories. Today is a rest day, always hard to not have those extra workout calories. Yesterday was a leg workout day and I decided to see if I could handle squats with a barbell instead of using the Smith Machine and I did it! I'm planning to transition to just doing barbell squats from now on, much better for me to have to stabilize my body than to rely on the smith machine to keep the weights steady. Was concerned that my elbow wouldn't be able to handle the weight but I was careful and it was ok. Woot!
02/14: 127.4 lbs. Very interesting (to me) that my weight doesn't seem to fluctuate like it used to do. I wonder if it has to do with eating way more protein than I used to. Hit my protein goal yesterday and stayed under calories.
But, I was super super tired for some reason. Great arm workout this morning, followed by 1.5 hours of pickleball. Still playing left handed and I plan to commit to left handed play for another 4 weeks at least. It's challenging and frustrating but also super awesome to be back on the courts. Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

I need advice!!! I don't know who else to turn to and everyone is so amazingly helpful here. It's a long one, but I want to explain it as detailed/thoroughly as I can for y'all. I've never resigned from a job before so this is all new to me. I think I know what's best, but I tried to explain my concerns regarding it and why I'm hesitant going with my heart on this one.
I don't have a start date set in stone, but I'm really believing it will be 30 March (2 New Hire Orientation start days: 9 Mar and 30 Mar... 9 Mar will be extremely difficult as I'll have to move and leave most of my stuff in Kansas until I get a long enough weekend to come up with BF's truck to pack it and a trailer to bring it down. BF is out of town on work the week before and his kids start spring break the 7th). Plus, kids won't have a ride to/from spring break if I start on the 9th so I'd be ruining that for them. I can't fathom doing that to all of us when the new company has offered up an alternate date and very willing to be flexible and allow me to start then.
With that, I'm tentatively planning on my last day being the 25th (still need to coordinate with BF when he's able to bring truck and trailer up). If it is the 25th, my two week notice would land while I'm on vacation (which has been approved and put on the calendar). So my options include:
1. Put in notice (via phone or email, see option 2) the Thursday, 5th, before vacation (I'm off Friday due to my 9/80 schedule) and hope my boss allows me to come back for a week and half after vacation to build a turnover document, clear my office, and hand over everything essential to my job. If he doesn't, I leave nothing behind for my replacement (except what I manage to build between now and then, but he doesn't know that -- I'm just being as proactive as I can) and personal items in my office PLUS I will have a 3 week work/pay gap I'm not sure I can afford. We cannot end on vacation, meaning I'd have to come in at least 1 day of work after vacation to be paid for said vacation. Otherwise its early termination (and I forfeit my bonus payout from 2019, since one must be actively employed on payout date which is the 13th. Kinda rubs me the wrong way since I worked my butt off in 2019 for it and I'd only be a week out from receiving it. I'm selfish, but at the same time, I earned it!) Even if I did just 1 day after vaca, its 9 days unpaid between jobs and that's still quite a bit of a gap when bills need to get paid. More explanation below*
2. Put in notice while on vacation (my boss works 2 hours from me so an in-person notice really isn't very easy... no reason to drive 2 hours to tell him I'm resigning to drive 2 hours back to work to actually do my job... so either way its a phone call or email). It seems rude, especially since I'd be on vacation 2 days out of the two weeks notice. I'm leaning against this one despite what a couple people say. I don't want to leave on a bad note!
3. Put in my notice (likely in person, as my boss is trying to come to the plant every week) on Monday, 16th, when I get back from vacation. I will only be giving 8-9 days notice (8 if Wed 25th is my last day, 9 if Thurs 26th is my last day) and I'd be willing to work the Friday I'm typically off work (I'd normally be off Friday, 20th, due to my 9/80 schedule, but I can switch to 8 hour days and work Friday if he deems that better to ensure a more thorough handover/documentation).
I don't want to leave the company on bad terms and I do adore my boss. I want to do right by him and the company, especially since the last time he asked me about moving I said I wasn't (I was casually looking what was in the area, not really applying for jobs then as BF had JUST moved. I wanted to see what was down there at the time and not make a rash decision to just up and leave without research and being comfortable with the options/area). I'm trying to put as little gap between employment but still give myself time to move out of state without being super stressed out on my first day.
*Next Friday I'll find out about taxes and that may alleviate some financial concerns with employment gap (assuming I get a return and if so, how much I'll get). Also, before this vacation happens, I'll have 24.5 hours of vacation leftover from last year's rollover plus any vacation I've accrued thus far for this year (only about 2 days at end of Feb). After vacation, I should have 4.5 days plus whatever is accrued this year to get paid out to me.
BLUF: If I get early termination (don't come back to work after vacation), I'll have 24.5 days+ accrued vacation pay with 3 weeks of no work (unsure of timeline for vacation payout)
If I work at least 1 day after vacation, I only get 4.5 days + accrued paid out, but I'll get paid for the days I was on vacation plus any days I work the week after vacation.
I don't want to assume and rely on something I'm not guaranteed to get in a timely manner, especially when it comes to bills. If I get at least 1 day of work after vaca, at least I know I'll get my paycheck on the 27th of March (covers the 9th-20th so 6 days of work, minimum) to help cover bills. If I don't, I'm not sure when I'll see the check for my vacation payout and will have to rely on tax return (if I get one) and credit cards to cover bills (which I was originally planning on using any return I get to pay off a debt or two but life likes to throw curveballs!)
Thank you all in advance, I don't know what I'd do without you! And if you read all that, I'm sorry it was so long. Hopefully it wasn't too hard to understand. This is stressing me out so bad it's really starting to impact my health and I want to take back control of my anxiety to get back to healthy8 -
Round 104 – I am in!!! I’ve seen Onederland on the scale the last few days but it hasn’t stuck. I’m hoping to see it more this round.

Day/Weight/Comment:
02/07: 201.5 (+0.5); Thursday info: 4548 steps, 4 of 12, 5hr44m (74); Thursday was another long day of work and then dinner out with friends. I was tied to my desk and did not exercise after I got home from dinner. I saved a decent # of calories for dinner but we had sushi and I ate all the edamame. That was A LOT of sodium. I never know how to log sushi so I just gave up. Made sure NOT to eat anything extra before bed.
02/08: 202.5 (+1.0); Friday info: 4359 steps, 6 of 12; 5hr23m (73); Friday was a short day at work. I skipped family dinner and sort of went off the rails at home. “Shark Week” is due to begin soon and I’ve been craving salt, salt, and more salt. Not getting my water in at home either. ******I know this is just a small hiccup and I will get past it. Even as my weigh-in’s remind me of a heartbeat (up, down, up, down), I am still on a downward trend. Instead of focusing on the # on the scale, I will keep trying to move and log. The scale will work itself out as I go.
02/09: 202.5 (0) Saturday info: 9520 steps, 6 of 12, 7hr18m (81); Saturday was barn day! While we had snow flying, I did make the 125 drive to the barn to ride with friends. I was able to ride 2 this weekend for about 60m of activity. Then I made the 125 trek back home, with more snow flying. I got Wendy’s (apple bites/grilled chicken) for lunch and grabbed Subway (oven roasted chicken breast with tons of veggies & Cheetos) for dinner but I got a footlong instead of a 6inch. Then I seemed to just snack mindlessly the rest of the night after getting some bad news about my DA. So it was an 80/20 day for me with lots of steps and calorie burn. (4hr28m fat burn, 7m cardio, 2m peak for a total of 4hr47m & 1149 calories burned)
02/10: 202.3 (-0.2); Sunday info: 1836 steps, 3 of 12, 11hr11m (78); Sunday was a bad day. My DA passed away around 6am after being taken off life support the day before. Apparently, she had been hiding how bad she was from everyone, including her only child. ((My best friend’s Grandmother had passed away early Saturday morning after her 2nd stroke in about 10 days.)) I was just emotionally exhausted. I had no desire to really do much of anything. Mom and I just waited for info to come in and tried to update family in KY. ((I was worried about who was going to be #3, as we all know death comes in 3’s.))
02/11: DNW; Monday info: 2195 steps, 3 of 12, 6hr13m (80); Monday was even worse. I woke up with a migraine and just could NOT adult so I stayed home from work. I laid in bed until I couldn’t stand it anymore. My mom and I were just zombies all day. Mindless eating. Then we got a call that my grandmother’s friend passed away (she had also had a stroke) so, that was 3 in 3 days. So very heart breaking. I was feeding my sadness all day long. **Again, this is just life and it happens so I will keep on keeping on and work harder to get myself back on track.
02/12: 202.3 (0); Tuesday info: 5659 steps, 9 of 12, 5hr6m (80); Tuesday I got back to work and back to my regular routine. I did a lot of crying but talking about things helped me process the loss of my Aunt. I got my eating back on track but didn’t do any extra exercise. For some reason, I cannot seem to get more than 5hrs of sleep on “school nights”. Need to make a better effort on this part. My cousin stopped by with his GF and they filled us in on all the things no one knew about my Aunt’s final months. She had been preparing to not be around much longer but never told anyone. We all agree that she was probably waiting until my cousin’s nasty divorce was final and his children were safe in his custody.
02/13: 201.1 (-1.2): Wednesday info: 4525 steps, 4 of 12, 5hr5m (78); Wednesday was even more back to normal. Work was work. Eating was 100% accounted for. Still didn’t do any exercise or get more than 5hrs of sleep. One more day at the office and then 4 days of time away from everything with my Mom and Aunt/Uncle in KY. Taking my laptop so hopefully I can check in here to keep me accountable, even if I’m not weighing in. Love you guys!!!
02/14: Leave for KY; 200.7 (-0.4); Thursday info: 6245 steps, 7 of 12, 6h24m (77); Thursday was a long, pre-vacation day at work so I was stressing about getting everything done before being out for 2 days. I did really well at work but when I got home, it was late and I wanted something quick so I finished off the 4 pieces of pizza I had leftover from the other day. That really pissed off my insides. I was miserable the rest of the night. Ugh!

CamandJarvis wrote: »I need advice!!!
This is stressing me out so bad it's really starting to impact my health and I want to take back control of my anxiety to get back to healthy
@CamandJarvis If I understood everything correctly, it seems #3 covers everything except just a shorter notice, which 8 to 9 days isn't really that short. It seems you would get your bonus, which getting anything financially to help when you're moving is a must; you would tell your boss after vacation, not during, and maybe in person. You can always tell him that you didn't want to tell him during vacation and that you preferred to tell him in person if you feel a need to explain an 8 to 9 day notice. #1 is out because you have doubt whether your boss will let you come back and you can't chance that. Your notes throughout this shows you are extremely conscientious and I'm sure they are going to miss you! Congratulations and good luck with your move and new job - how exciting!!7 -
@CamandJarvis why don’t you just give your notice now? As long as you officially signed your offer letter and assuming your background check and drug test come clean. 2 weeks is just a recommendation. If it’s a month or longer notice, I think that’s fine. That gives the company an ability to find a replacement and still have someone staffing the position to not create a lot of stress for your coworkers. Just a thought! Whenever I have signed an offer letter, I give notice. Once I gave a 3.5 week notice and they were super grateful.7
-
@CamandJarvis Has anyone else recently (last 1-2 years) given notice before leaving? Were they allowed to work those last 2 weeks? From the company perspective, do they trust the employee would continue doing a good job after giving their notice?
I've seen people do the *proper* thing and give their two weeks, yet the company immediately released them and they were short two weeks of pay. Is your relationship with your boss strong enough that you would trust him on this? What is/Is there a company policy on giving notice?
Personally, I'd give the notice AFTER you qualify for that bonus. When I left my last employer, I was 2 weeks shy of the bonus and didn't get it. But that is big corporation policy here in the US. The bigger the company, the less they care about their employees.
The last thing... and this is major... do NOT give your notice until you have a firm date that the new employer is starting you. After college, I had two friends that were hired and given verbal start dates. They turned down other opportunities because they wanted to work for this company. And when they showed up for orientation, they found they did not have a job. Which meant they had to start looking again and had lost opportunities/burned bridges when they turned down the other companies.11 -

We went to a Brazilian steak house last night. I guess it is true. Protein, protein is OK. The meat was all lean and flame broiled. And I did not have much before going before. I am going to do a DVD shortly. I see this challenge has 2 weekends sort of and I already pre-planned for next weekend. Have a good week everyone!!
02/10 389.0 (-1.6) It feels good to be back on track. Under calories yesterday and I tracked everything. I did not do DVD. Will shoot for getting in my step goal today.

My journey … "I May Not Be Where I Want To Be, but I’m Not Where I Use To Be!"In 2003 Weighed over 600 lbs.My highest weight was 611 in 2003. Weight in 2004 before weight loss surgery was 580. Lowest weight after surgery was 302 in 2007. "I May Not Be Where I Want To Be, but I’m Not Where I Use To Be!"
In 2005 Weighed under 400 lbs.
In 2007 lowest weight after surgery 302lbs
I joined MFP on March 27, 2010 weighing in at 388 pounds. I was re-gaining weight and stumbled up on it while trying to get back on track. I was determined never to see 400+ on that scale again for me.
I have been morbidly obese all my life. I have a lifetime of mental and physical scars from obesity. In October 2004 I had Gastric Bypass surgery. WLS (Weight Loss Surgery) was the best gift that I could and did give to myself.
Between 2008 and 2010 I gradually gained back 80 of almost 300 pounds lost initially after weight loss surgery. I never reached my goal weight of 200 pounds. I still managed to keep off over 65 percent of the weight I lost which is very good and I am very proud of my accomplishments since 2004. It has literally changed my life for the better on all levels. I am here to lose re-gained weight and to reach my initial goal weight. I am in no hurry. I am taking this one day at a time and I am in it for the long haul.
Surgery did not fix the head. It is a good tool and the best gift I have given to myself, but it was not the easy way out as many people think. Once the honeymoon period is over after the WLS it is up to the patient to keep the weight off.
On August 29, 2011-- I was admitted to Intensive Out Patient Eating Disorder Program to learn how to manage my binge eating disorder effectively. The program is wonderful indeed and will be instrumental in me reaching all of my goals. The focus of this program was how to eat and not diet. Weight loss was not a goal of the program. I actually gained 20 pounds in program. But I had to get thru a lot of stuff and my the time I was released I had stopped gaining. I was discharged from program on December 3, 2011.
My tool is still working for me today. My head is still the issue. SO the struggle continues. I will never beat myself up again. I fight the fine fight faithfully and positively everyday. Because that is what will get me to my goals one day. Even though it may not show up on the scale every day -- Everyday I make progress one way or another just by showing up, waking up and trying.
Giving up is not an option for me. Perseverance, Patience, & Positive thinking will help me reach my goals…… and the same is true for you too!! We have the power within us.*One of my major goals is to get my BMI under 40 (260 weight) so I can have surgery on my knees *

@CamandJarvis -CONGRATS!! My company (which is a big Corp) has allowed people to work who have given notice. I really think it depends on the company and the position. I am old school and I believe in giving notice the old fashion way. Face to face with a nice amicable letter that states how you hate to leave and have learned a lot from company and your boss, etc etc. You never know when you may need a reference from this boss. So, it is always nice to explain in person why you must move on and how you sincerely have appreciated everything the company and boss you are leaving has done for you career wise. This goes a long way. I usually keep in touch with my old bosses via LinkedIn and one boss I am good friends with. Keep networking after you leave.... you never know when it will come in handy in life. Keep it amicable on your end always.
As @kecward78 stated, make sure you have signed all the acceptance letters from the other company, and it is official before giving notice. Hopefully by now they have FedExed you a welcome package and papers to sign and return. and if you have to take any background or drug test, etc wait on the results. Make sure you are officially hired. Don't jump the gun with a verbal. I also know of cases that this has back fired. Again Congratulations!!! :flowerforyou:
