What is your "Petty" Reason to Lose Weight?

I think most of us have had the fantasy of making everyone's jaw drop in disbelief while singing Mariah Carey's "Someday" to an ex of ours, however, my petty reason leans a bit more towards just wanting to show everyone I'm not the person they had me pegged to be. There is an event in August I'd like to attend, and I feel like it will be a time for me to shine. It's kind of like either I start losing the weight now, or I don't go. And I want to go. I want to do this. So that's my petty reason: to show up to this event, and feel good, look good, and show everyone this awesome transformation of body, mind and spirit. Kind of like I want to be inspiring, but you know deep down I'm doing it because there's a handsome guy there I wanna impress, too....
Also, I have this lovely (casual) dress with the most vibrant green color that I bought literally over 10 years ago. Even though it didn't fit me the day I bought it, I said to myself almost prophetically, "Some day I'm going to fit into this/wear this, and look absolutely gorgeous." This August event is where I'm going to wear it. I just know it.
Okay, so I weighed myself officially today and took measurements, as well as pictures. So I'm going to add another petty reason to my listed from yesterday: I don't want to look 20 months pregnant any longer.
I mean, I know that's how I look... it wasn't a shock, per se. But since we're practically Amish here and don't have any full length mirrors around, it's no wonder I haven't really seen just how bad I look from the shoulders down. After I saw the full length pictures combined with my weight and measurements?... oh dear.15 -
To wear cuter clothes!9

To wear cuter clothes!
Yes! I'll add another one to my list: to wear jeans again! Not that I ever really looked good in them before, but never could feel comfortable in pants due to my non-existent waistline and belly. I'd love to have a somewhat flattened belly and be able to wear pants and not be forced to only shop for skirts with elastic bands to be comfortable.8 -

I don't consider it petty per se, but I have lordosis in my lumbar spine. It's not enough to do more than give me some one-sided back pain if I stand too long or do too much, but that's something I have to keep a very wary eye on as I age. I guarantee that carrying a big mass of weight in my lower belly as if pregnant is not helping that lower back. And that's not going to get any better with age. That's the real reason that I want to make sure the skin comes off when I get the weight off. The weight of the skin itself is probably pulling on my lower back.
And, you know, I want to be that strong, slender 70-something woman who can walk miles and lift things and has a long rope of silver hair down her back and a love for life that radiates off her and makes her lovely, no matter what age she is.22 -
I bought a pair of uber soft leggings at Goodwill (my go-to store while losing) yesterday. They are just a smidge too tight. I think a loss of 7-10 pounds should make them perfect. Hoping to wear them on the plane to my birthday getaway in mid April.12

In about a month I'm going to Scotland to dog-sit for my brother, while he and his partner go on a glamorous weekend away.
I have a lovely pair of thermal walking trousers bought in a sale, that currently don't fit. I can just about get into them, but there would be no striding out or scrambling in them.
It will be freezing so the goal is to be able to move in them!13 -
Sister who is always making snide remarks aboiy people’s weight and diet, and giving side-eye and making shocked faces at people’s bodies she disapproves of.6

Petty—My dad and stepmom are super fit and in their 60s (I’m 46). She and I are the same height but she weighs a lot less than me. Last year we all ran a 10K and she kicked my butt. This year I want to run it faster than my 63 year old stepmom 😄
Btw, we have a great relationship, and they would both love it if I got back in shape and could kick her butt in a race 😊. I’m down 25 lbs, so only about 12 more to go. Oh yeah, and some speed intervals!27 -

Me too, that and so I can be the hot mum.4 -
A silk Chanel skirt that I bought to fit into! Still has tags on it! This Spring! It will fit!15

I would like to be an inspiration to the one person in my life that truely matters, it would be great to do active things together!10

Thought of another one. I want to wear high heels and have my legs look awesome. My cheating soon to be ex but is already an ex in my mind, has this thing where his not so secret mistress(es) wear heels because he likes the way it makes their butt look. I know I’ll never look like a super model, but I’d like to be able to wear some heels and stockings in front of him and let him see my butt as I walk away forever.
On that note, I want to have some mind-blowing sex/love making with some guy I’m really attracted to and vice versa. Haven’t had sex since last April (purposely) and I’m saving up! The lucky guy I get my hands on when this weight is finally off... he’s going to be in for the ride of his life!22 -
I lost a little over 40 lbs a few years ago. I wanted to take a small break which turned into a year. I lost my motivation at some point and gained about 15 lbs. But now I'm back to try this again. My petty reason?? I bought tickets to take my daughters to a concert in May. I want to be able to run around and keep up with them, but I also want to look good. LOL. I have 100 days.9

I want to show all the people that I work with that are on expensive packaged diets that require you to buy special food and get "coaching" that you can lose weight (and more importantly keep it off) by good ole moderation and exercise.19

I want a hot bf.15

I was sick and tired of being asked when the baby was due. 😩 I never felt attractive or sexy. I want to feel confident and sexy and not be scared of doing things because of my shape.

I hear ya, sis! Little joke... one time years ago when I was at my heaviest, I parked in one of those "For Expectant Mothers" spots. I guess I was just in a bad mood that day and wanted to use my girth to my advantage for once.12 -
Simply so I feel more comfortable in the bedroom, plus flexibility.
Yet to find someone to share the bedroom fun with though 🤦🏻♀️10 -
I'd love to be a small bride. Not that I have a man or even need one right now. But if I ever did. I want to feel like a princess in a wedding dress8

I want to shut her up. Also I do not feel attractive no matter how much my husband tells me my weight doesn't matter, to me it does I lost my sexy feeling.
Sexy is an attitude, trust your husband.
Having said that my petty reason is to see what's going on down there when we bump uglies
I know this isn't facebook but we need a laugh react 😂2 -
Also to feel like I still look like a girl when I'm not wearing makeup8

Meee too!!! But hoping probably nix "cute" status to "attractive" for me not "hot" since I will still be 4'11" with doe eyes as I've been told. Several have said I already look like a cue-pie(?) doll or cutie pie or little girl or china doll (I'm not Chinese)...3 -
