Feeling pretty disappointed ladies. So after my last post saying my scales went crazy I finally bought a new one today. Of course me being all excited to see if there’s been any change I jumped on. I’ve gained 2 kg (4.4lbs) 😩 I don’t know what I’ve done to gain so much weight in such little time. In the last week I went from doing just cardio to adding strength training 4 times a week and because of that I decided to up my calorie intake just slightly. I’m about 2 weeks away from my period coming so I don’t think it’s that. It’s so disappointing.
I’m holding onto hope that it’s from my new exercise routine, the fact that I weighed myself in the middle of the day rather than first thing or maybe that this new set of scales is more accurate and the one that died was being generous on my actual weight.
Sorry for the rant. Just need to keep going forward I guess, hoping the scale shifts for my formal weigh in on Sunday.
Also I know tomorrow (it’s the 28th here) is the last day of Feb but I’ll just post my total loss for the month anyway. Total loss (including the new gain) is 2.1kg (4.6lbs). I’m happy with that despite the sudden gain. I’ll definitely be joining the March group if there is one, I’ve learnt so much from all you lovely ladies. The atmosphere in here and sense of community is something I really love about this group. Congratulations to everyone on your efforts and losses for this month. Onwards we go!6 -
Iamthekateanator wrote: »@ehusted7059 Welcome! I'm new here too and also trying to watch carbs and sugar. My advice for a goal weight for march is to enter your goals and stats and then daily your food into the app and when you hit "complete food diary" at the end of the day it says "if every day was like today you would weight x amount in five weeks." Maybe someone else will have better advice though. But I'm using that as my goal for the end of march! 🙂
Mine varies so much! But that’s a good idea so maybe I’ll take the average of a few days.
I’m glad I’m not the only new one. It’s kind of intimidating to share numbers on such a big forum when I haven’t even brought myself to talk to my husband about it.

heaviest weight: 304 (July 2017)
End Jan weight 264.2 (been around 260 for over 1 year maintaining that 40 lb loss)
Weekly goals: 1 - 1.5 lb/week (4-6 by end of feb)
End Goal: 215
About a decade ago, after being obese my entire life, I decided to lose weight. I did the food weighing and counting macros. I started at 274 and lost 85 lbs in 10 months. Calorie restriction of about 1300 calories per day. I could lose 2-8 lbs a week. I got a Tummy tuck and for the first time in my life I was “pretty”. I mentally wasn’t ready for the psychological component of new found “attractiveness” it was overwhelming, the attention, being able to shop in any store. Ultimately I’m the stereotypical story of losing it to quickly without the knowledge to maintain. So here I am years later fighting the good fat fight again. Gaining confidence in myself (at 300 lb more secure in my skin than when I was 189), I’ve found it hard to really do this again. Workouts I’m stellar at but the diet is my biggest struggle. Shoutout to everyone In this group, I just learned my fitness pal has this support community and am thrilled to be apart of it!
Keep strong ladies!9 -
@svm569 if you did weigh in the middle of the day that's probably where the pounds are coming from. Especially if you had anything to eat during the day before you weighed. Also scales can be different. Losing 4.6 lb in a month is fantastic! Marathon not a sprint!! When you weigh in on Sunday from then on you'll know the scale is accurate!10

Let's Do this for February!

My last weigh-in for the month! On track for 8lbs a month which is great! I was a little bloated due to hormones this am and had a small jump this morning but I'm happy with how everything is trending.
I over did it on Saturday and then paid for it the next two days but this continued loss is showing me that while I need to continue to make good choices, I don't have to completely change my lifestyle.
Super happy and can't wait to see what March as in store!7 -

@svm569 how does your sodium intake look. That’s what gets me sometimes. You’ve increased your calories...does that mean your eating more sodium?3
-
Checking in! Today is weigh day 213.4! Was 215.4 last week. Diet alone. I feel super good about this feel as I head towards my June surgery I may well make it to the 190s 😍. I did struggle a little with very mild hunger a few days but I think mainly it’s timing of meals and need to add a tad more protein or fats to carry me through. I’m headed into my full on diet mode. I did not see the four week plan and groceries list so I’m just gonna do that! More calories than I’ve been using and maybe it will help with the hunger I was having ( it was very mild tbh but annoying)6

@BrownSugar174 my sodium has been really good, it was one of my goals to get that under control and Ive done that. Just going back through my diary entries I’ve noticed I’ve gone over just a little on mono and poly unsaturated fats. That’s one area I need to work on but I haven’t gone way over my limit either. I’m genuinely stumped with the sudden weight gain. I suspect it may be due to my increase in calories and change in exercise routine but honestly I didn’t expect such a big jump. To be honest I was quite down about it all but hubby gave me a good pep talk tonight and I’m motivated again. I’m starting ‘fresh’ again tomorrow and hopefully I’ll start seeing the numbers go down. The first of each month I’ll be taking measurements so I’m excited to see where I’m at with that, hopefully that shows more of a change than the scales.2

@GroverBlue78 you got this 🥳 I found when I was around that particular weight the thing that motivated me was to make a goal and achieve it no matter my weight at the end. It was a fitness goal so I decided I wanted to do a 5 k. It seemed nuts at the time bc I don’t run I hate running but a goal I wanted for the year to accomplish. I picked one it was a glow run. It was like 3 months away which was kinda freaked me out. I did c25k app too prepare I did it every day no excuses ( I had 3 kids then) I got up at 4 am before work before anyone needed anything from me and did it. No I didn’t want to actually at first I hated it. But then I started to love it. I fell two days short of completing my c25k app before the 5k but I did it I ran the entire thing I came in third to last I think 28th place or something, but I did it! And I know you can do anything you set your mind to. A goal is more motivation to me than just losing. That’s kinda bleh. My goal now is not that exciting but it’s working for me for now and you just have to find that thing!7

@svm569 🥰having a supportive hubby is an absolute blessing🥰. You can do this!3

@sharpdust ❤️ I know you can find the balance between short term and long term happiness losing weight. You can do it.
@NeachyBird welcome!
@shalanne sounds like you know what to do but putting it in practice is hard because you're afraid of failure. As long as you treat yourself right, and eat enough, move some, keep a deficit, then this will work. Promise.
@bluffgirl67 I love that even though your plans fell through, you still found the time and motivation to do some weights.
@shorepine good luck on your 5k!
@cory17 this process takes time, but it sounds like you've got the right attitude- the time for self care is always.
@Aerohead21 man I tell you I could not be a teacher- so much work! I really admire that you are doing a job for the good of kids, even at the expense of your own time and sanity, sometimes (I hope I remembered right that you're a teacher not a student! )
@svm569 congratulations! 14 lb is a lot for a month! I know you know this, but I'll say it anyway- it probably won't be as much next month, but any loss is worthy of celebrating.
Big news everyone!
I got to ONEderland today! 198.8. I would show you my scale, but it's grody with paint splatters from painting the bathroom. 😂
I'll probably bounce up or around a little, but so so happy to see 1's on the scale again.
On advice of some MFP runners, I'm reducing running to three days a week, so today is lifting day! I hope everyone's having a great day! Let's kick it in the etc.

Good Morning Lovely Ladies!
Well! Today was the day! The first weigh in since my decision to go 25 days without cookies (my Lu Le Petit eColier), ice cream (Haagen Daz chocolate) and chips (Lays). It was a struggle the first few days but my “village” motivated me to stay strong!! I’m so proud to say I’m a little ahead of my 1/2 pound to 1 pound a week weight loss goal👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🎊🤯💥!!
I have hit 60+ in total weight loss since beginning this journey!
We are continuing to knock it outta the park💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽!!

@svm569 when I first started strength training I noticed weight gain for 1-2 days after. It can be from inflammation of muscles, which is a natural occurrence from strength training. Any time you feel muscle soreness from a workout you have inflammation which can add a bit of water weight. This may be a good time to focus on non-scale victories 😊5

Friday Weekly Weigh in:
SW: 243
CW: 224.6
GW: 160ish.
2/1: 226.6
2/7: 224.6
2/14: 223.6
2/21: 221.4
2/28: 220.2
February Goals:
-Exercise 6 days a week! Crazy, I know but one of the days is an active recovery days (pilates).
-Get under 220s for good!
-Work on making sure I get enough water in. I feel like I struggle to drink enough water (I get busy and forget!).
Well, didn't lose as much as I would have liked for Feb! Oh well, got pretty close! I'll get under the 220s next month for sure and see how low into the 210s I can make it I do know I have been gaining muscle so that may be part of it too. My workout regime seems to be working and I feel A LOT stronger so I'll take it.4 -
Got my size sixteens yesterday. They slide over my thighs smoothly, but not over my backside yet. So that's definitely inspiring; I didn't expect them to go up my thighs. That's the sort of thing that really inspires me. Another couple of weeks!!13

@AlexandraFindsHerself1971 I love those inspiring moments! Your doing a great job! I’m so proud of you!3

After the week I have had, I am not surprised I totally forgot my weigh in. My daughter (age 10) has been having weird fainting spells and other weird, non diagnosable issues since last May. She had an episode on Tuesday, requiring a 24 hour EEG and our first overnight stay in the hospital as parents. While we know she has anxiety and some of it can be chalked up to stress and ocular migraines, everything always comes back normal. Test wise, she is a 100% healthy girl. The test ended early (due to the positive results, so we were home by Wednesday afternoon), and diet kinda went out the window. I am not too much of a stress eater, but I did make unhealthy choices, had some wine, and a margarita...and those useless calories add up FAST. I did over eat yesterday, but I am trying to listen to my body a little more to figure out if I am "really" hungry, or thirsty, or sleepy, etc. I will sheepishly weigh in tomorrow morning, and I am on a healthy track today at least!11

Height: 5'7"
Highest Weight: 254
End of January Weight: 244.7
2/7: 243 (-1.7)
2/14: 242.1 (-0.9)
2/21: 242.1 (no change)
2/28: 243.1 (+1.0)
February Goal Weight: 240
Final GW: 165 (then reevaluate)
Up a pound this morning. I expected a gain after a high sodium dinner and a slice of cake last night. I haven't been sleeping well. A lot of anxiety lately. My sister is still waiting for test results and is very worried about the c word. Please send good thoughts her way this week!

@svm569 I can definitely understand the frustration and disappointment, but I think what @jguldi11 said makes sense. Our bodies always respond in one way or the other to any kind of change so starting a new workout routine may be the culprit.
@AlexandraFindsHerself1971 congrats!!! You should be really proud of yourself and I know that has got to be a big motivator when you’re results become tangible.
@BrownSugar174 that is really inspiring me! Thanks for sharing your results. I think a lot of my failures were because I was in such a rush to be the perfect size that I overwhelmed myself. But seeing your progress throughout your journey motivates me to take it easy and be kinder to my own journey.
So I realized my very first post was just a rant and I didn’t actually include any goals lol:
SW: 240
CW: ?
GW #1: 190
My current weight is a guess right now because I don’t do my first weigh in until Sunday (March 1st). My goals for the rest of this month, and probably for March as well, is to be consistent with logging in my foods, staying focused on continuing to eat healthy foods, and keeping track of my calories. I don’t have premium yet, so it’s a little difficult to accurately track my diet because I’m also intermittent fasting, but I guess it can be a goal to buy the membership as well, lol. Other than that, all of you are motivating me so much!!! This is the first time I’m holding myself accountable to interact and ask questions in a group and I’m so glad I am.
Have a great day!!!!10
