02/28 …..195.8 ….. I had dinner at DD#2 last night and some glorious time with my DGS #4. She tries to keep it a bit more carb and calorie conscious for me which is very thoughtful. Not as on plan as at home but not too bad. I am unsure of exact calories & carbs, info too sketchy when I’m not sure of exact recipe, but overall didn’t seem too bad. I walked with my son at school during conferences since school was open. A little slower as he is not used to it, about 3.0 mph but I was proud of him. My total calorie burn for 110 minutes was 597. I walked 18,119 steps for the day, 7.67 Total Miles, burned 2839 Total Calories. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 5 hours & 47 minutes and only woke up once! An average day overall.
02/29 …..198.6 ….. I really blew it when out with a friend. Got in my walk but I ate back 80% of the calories and the carbs were through the roof. And I only ate ½ my dinner and brought the other half home for my son! I deserve every bit of this. My walk was 93 minutes. Feeling weak and unprepared. Uggg.
03/01 …..199.8 ….. Absolutely no excuses except for the fact that if I am not 100% perfect and on target with every single morsel on this low-carb plan, I gain. However, it does seem to be what is best for my T2D. I just get tired of the continuous "failures" at every turn of everyday life. I'm going to keep fighting.
03/02 …..201.6 ….. Emergency Unexpected Travel yesterday for me & my son. I arrived back last night. Diet plan & exercise out the window. I am only grateful that my scale number isn’t worse. However, I don’t like being back in the 200 club that I worked so hard to graduate from. I’ll be very mindful today.
03/03 …..201.6 ….. A very good day yesterday in walking and food until I ate the large bowl of cereal last night. I haven’t had a bowl of cereal in 2 years and I have to say, it was good. The cravings are horrendous after a lapse so I am trying hard to get through that. It had very little to do with hunger. We still have a ton of snow here so no outside activity. I sure wish there was a gym nearby but it’s Amish country here. Just farms and cabins. Thank goodness the school lets us old folks walk the hallways in the evenings! Last year we had snow through May. The largest blizzard being 10 inches of snow. In fact, it has been snowy until June for many years now. However, I am still hoping for a normal spring (by Easter) that lasts. I am sleeping again in the 4 hour range for the past few days. This is the norm for me but keeps me at a 20 hour waking window of eating. I am using IF for at least 12:12 right now but it's still a very long day without food. I continue to try careful planning. Last night after walking I did some more prep cooking.
03/04 …..200.8 ….. Yay! Finally a drop of almost a pound. A great day yesterday. I preplanned meals and got in a bit of walking at the school. I even got 6 hours & 5 minutes of sleep.
03/05 …..200.6 ….. Being Mindful. Walked at the school. Had 2 oldest grandsons over after school for dinner & dessert. I was at the high end of my cals & carbs, but I managed to stay just under. Still feeling strong.

Goals: continue with 12 hr. IF, see if I can complete my tracking every day and get to the gym 3x a week and not eat back the cals. Getting some exercise the non-gym days would be a great bonus.

03/03 – 164.8 – Decided to allow myself an apple after a very long practice last night but didn’t eat anything else. Completed tracking and right on target.
03/04 – 164.8 – IF – yes. Tracking – mostly, expect it was very close.
03/05 – 165.2 – Bought frozen soup for a quick supper after shopping and think it was loaded with salt. Some snacking in evening but did track all and was only 57 cals. over. Took a walk since it was such a beautiful day (inspired by peoples' comments on here) and I was shopping in the valley where the snow is almost gone and there is a nice park. Streets here in our mountainside town are clear but steep and still loaded with gravel from winter sanding.

02/27 - 188.2 not feeling very well today, my supervisor yelled at me for no reason today for 45 minutes and it made me feel so bad about myself I got sick and threw up in our bathroom. I asked why he's cancelled all of our meetings for the past 6 months, because I was worried something was up, and he just like, transformed into a different person and yelled at me for implying he wasn't invested or interested in his "subordinates." He sent me a bunch of angry emails afterwards and I am freaking out trying to figure out how to move forward. I can't believe my one sentence question that I thought was pretty reasonable/innocent created such a hurricane of anger
02/28 - 187.6 still haven't responded to any emails, kind of worried my working relationship with this person is destroyed even though I really don't think I did anything wrong. At least my weight is down, which is nice, but it might just be from being so sick. Got sick again later today and threw up again. Broke keto so I could eat some crackers to try to settle my stomach
02/29 - 188 still very nauseated, still haven't responded to the emails. Trying to figure it out. Trying to focus on having a nice weekend but it's hard because I'm kind of terrified of work next week. Didn't exercise again today, feel too ill, but trying to stick to my diet as best as I can. I really want to break through this 188 barrier, I've been coasting here for months
03/01 - 190.5.. Not sure why my weight shot up overnight. Maybe it's an overreaction to keeping all my food down again. Finally started feeling better and got lots of exercise today building a fence, digging, laying cinderblocks, etc. Nervous to work again tomorrow
03/02 - 190.. slightly down, which is good, but I wish it were more down, I really don't want to end this challenge with a gain, especially a mystery gain. Was very good about my diet, did some exercise, and my boss apologized to me. I still feel bad about it and dont really trust our professional relationship, but it was nice that he did some reflection and gave me a heartfelt apology (via email... hahah). Hoping to be back down again tomorrow
03/03 - 187.9! Wow, super down. OK, at least the diet is working again Got a lot of exercise in today and did a good job of sticking to my diet. Got lots of work done too but got a huge migraine around 6PM that basically robbed my entire night. Missed dinner and spending time with my partner. These migraines have been more and more frequent, it's very frustrating.
03/04 - 188.4.. back up! This has been a bit of a roller coaster challenge for me hahah. Feeling nauseated again today, but my head feels good so so far so good. Doing well on my diet and at work today and I went to the gym for the first time this week. So I'm going to call today a win even though it's still early
03/05 - 187.2! The smallest number I've seen on a scale in years! Yeehaw! I'd like to keep up this momentum, I really want to break through the 188 barrier I've been stuck at for what feels like months now - correction, now that I've checked my logs, has been two months and one week! Going to be extra strict about my diet, really focus on getting my exercise in, and not let myself give in to temptation. I've been so happy with my progress that I've let myself cheat here and there, but it really adds up. I told myself it was okay because I wasn't really gaining weight, at least not more than a pound or two, but now seeing how I haven't really made progress in 2 months, I see that those cheats really do make a big impact.

02/27 | 134.0kg | -0.9kg | Still getting fed up with the daily fluctuations so I decided to try using the Happy Scale app to smooth those fluctuations. My actual weight today was 133.7kg but Happy Scale tells me that my moving average weight is 134.0kg so that feels like a more correct amount to me. I'll be putting the Happy Scale moving average weight as my measurement each day and see how that goes. I drank a lot of water yesterday, starting to think that's a key for me. I did eat some unhealthy foods but surprisingly it fit within my calorie limit - probably due to the smaller dinner size I had! Did 15 mins of walking, wanted to get on the stationary bike but my sister called so I was on the phone to her for a while and then it was too late to get started. Will aim for more movement again today and definitely keep up the water!
02/28 | 133.6kg | -0.4kg | Actual scale read 132.9kg - haven’t seen that number in a long time so glad to see the moving average coming down. Did 10 mins of walking and 20 mins on the bike so feeling good about that. Today we have the memorial for a friend who passed away in a tragic farm accident so I don’t expect to do any exercise or control my calories today. I know I should, but I think there are more important things today.

03/01 | 133.5kg | -0.1kg | Actual scale read 133.7kg. Long, long day in the car yesterday but I didn’t eat a lot. Drank a couple of sugary drinks (frozen coke was amazing!) but drank a LOT of water so hopefully not too much water retention. My feet/ankles were very puffy when we got home last night so I was expecting a much higher read today. Glad I drank so much water, will keep that up today.

Back Story:2018:2020
My goal was to get down below 160, to allow me to enjoy the indulgences of holidays and celebrations.
2019
I exceeded that and have been below 150 for most of the last 2 months.
In 2018, I put on 10 lbs over the last 2 months of the year.
In 2019, I consistently lost weight since the end of July. I put on about 4lbs over the Christmas break, but was still below my original 2019 goal.
That's a WIN in my book!
I need this more than ever now that I am in maintenance! I might even manage to lose a bit more ever so slowly.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

03/02 133 – 10 miles walked yesterday, delicious Sunday lunch out with DH & 4 of my siblings, meant that I was not hungry at tea time so just had a juicy pear. Calories 373 in credit & all macros well in credit.
03/03 133.4 – 10.64 miles walked yesterday, 476 calories in credit, all other macros in green. Not much chance of a walk today; Dad's funeral & it's raining .

02/29 - I've had the worse week I've had since beginning MFP 12/27. Everything has felt off and I feel like I'm starting to go down a slippery slope. I'm going to try what worked a couple of rounds ago and try to hit every goal for just 5 days - so here goes:

It IS getting tiring being this rigid with tracking every goal, every day, but I was slipping badly for a couple weeks. I feel stronger in every way now so one more day to make it the five I committed to, then I'll keep going just not post every goal, every day. It's time to weigh again Fri or Sat. 69 years old female...5'5" ...I used to be 5'7" but arthritis hit and I lost two inches, so now that two inches is squished around my waist like the billows of a big accordion... ...Oh, well. I'll just keep working on it.
We used to walk 5 miles a day. A pinched nerve and back surgery side-lined me for about a year. Then I had back surgery. Now I'm waiting to get my hip fixed. Hip Doc said surgery in April. Ugh! I can't do any walking or biking...both kill me. I see my personal trainer three times a week. She is taking it very slow and easy with me.
I have March 10th as my hip surgery date...much better than April!

02/28 – 169.2 – Added two new strength exercises to my gym routine today. Went to the local sushi place for lunch. Their dumpling soup is delicious but seems to have a day’s worth of sodium in it. Still, it was the perfect thing for a cold, windy day.
02/29 – 169.8 – No surprise, given that I was over on sodium and calories yesterday. Today was much better – enjoyed time with my grandsons and met all my goals!

03/02 – 169.0 – Great day to walk outdoors! All goals met Swamped with work, so my participation in this forum has been pretty erratic. I’ll catch up – soon, I hope

02/27 - 73.9 - Finally some movement. Period started yesterday which might explain why I have been ravenously hungry the last week! Calories were a little over yesterday but generally okay.
02/28 - 73.6 - Was exhausted yesterday, but eating was okay.
02/29 - 74.1 - Was expecting that, monthly lunch at work (aka the company buys us all lunch) and there was so much pizza. And then pizza left over. So because I wogged myself at lunch I ended up not being in the slightest bit hungry for dinner and didn't eat anything, so swings and roundabouts.
03/01 - 74.9 - Very hard judo session + salty Chinese for dinner = retaining oh so much water. I even feel puffy today. Drinking loads of water to make up for it and hopefully tomorrow will level me out.
03/02 - Was late this morning and forgot to weigh. Previous day was okay. Eating was a little all over the place as the day was very stressful, but overall was fine.
03/03 - 73.7 - Another solid day. Eating was a little over what I'd like, but then I went and did a very intense judo session, so I'm not feeling guilty about the situation as a whole. I still worked out below calories.
03/04 - 73.2 - Was not expecting a drop like that this morning. Don't get me wrong I'm very happy with it. Yesterday was good eating and came in under calories. Even actually practiced only serving out half of my dinner and then eating the 2nd half when I was hungry. Stopping when I'm full is something that I struggle with (especially if I've already logged it), so serving out less to begin with is something I'm trialing to calibrate my hunger cues.
03/05 - 73.1 - Down again? Nice! Solid day yesterday, even ate dessert and stayed under goal. I'm so glad I finished my very boring salad options for lunch as well, I should be back to my more interesting salad choices for today.
03/06 - 73.1 - Staying solid. Another good day of eating yesterday, well under calories and certainly didn't miss it. Pretty much everyone in the office got a katsu for lunch (we have a really good place by us) and I was craving something other than salad, so I went and grabbed myself a sandwich instead to avoid going over my calories. It was very much needed and was yummy.

02/29 - 151.8 Wrong way scale! Not too worried, I tend to bounce around a little. Stayed within calories, but probably need more water.
03/01 - 151.6 Wish it would drop a little faster, but at least it's moving in the right direction again.

03/06 - 144.6 - I swore I'd be up! Very happy about staying status quo after dinner last night. Off today to do physical therapy and run some errands. Picking up BF's youngest for the day (he's off school while is siblings have school and his mom and stepdad work) He's grounded from electronics and he wanted to help me and his mom was okay with me getting him away from tempting electronics and giving him some hard labor (helping me pack). Lots of activity I foresee. Early night and early wakeup tomorrow. I may weigh out of habit but don't know if I'll have a chance to post. No scale at BF's so I'll hop on at the end of next round and have probably 2 days weigh-in there. That will be my damage report/spring break recovery hahaha my next two rounds will be hectic as 107 is spring break and 108 includes moving. Scale must be packed at some point! But I'll still hop in to post updates when I can and see how everyone is doing! I'd miss y'all too much otherwise.

Previous Day's Comments02/27 - It's quite okay, though not pretty to see. A very late carb-heavy dinner and still waiting on TOM (been feeling it terrible yesterday and today -- it better hurry up and get along now). Gives me room to drop during this last 9 days before I leave. I'd love to see 145.x again but this will also be a bit of a stressful 10 days planning and packing. Update: the ankle fracture is actually an old one-- they were able to see what they think are calcium deposits which wouldn't have shown up in less than 24 hours from injury and there's no indication its unstable whatsoever. Called it a very bad sprain. Some tears in the ligaments are likely. I'm in a stabilization brace but off crutches and out of the boot. They're also referring me to physical therapy to help keep ligaments healing properly. Doc has no problem with my walking on it so long as its stabilized which I'm very happy about. I can take short walks and get more movement in now to help this weight gain along out the door for good. Plan on having 95% of my house packed prior to spring break so plenty of movement from that! I'll have 5 days to then pack the remaining 5% once I return. Feeling very positive about this round and ready for spring break! Haven't seen the kids since BF moved first week of Dec and I've missed them so much.
02/28 - Trending down, yay! TOM finally showed up and took some bloat with it. Another late dinner as I ate with my neighbor and his daughters -- carb heavy italian with some wine. Tonight will be steaks on the grill but not sure what sides yet so hoping tomorrow is a much nicer number. Hit my 65oz water goal Today's goal is to finish 2.5 30oz bottles and work my way up to 3 (90oz) over time. Hoping lighter carb/protein-focused dinners combined with more water will get me back to 145.x for spring break. I'm DETERMINED. I want to feel confident in myself and it'll set me up nicely for summer as well. Plenty of beaches, rivers, kayaking, floating, etc in my future. I want to be able to enjoy those experiences rather than constantly think about how I look and feel ugly for it (I know I'm not, but my slight dysmorphia tells me otherwise more often than I like to admit.) I'm sure I don't do myself any favors by not sucking it up and eliminating or at least reducing the things I know bloat me up. Limit gluten-filled carbs will be a focus going forward. Lactose is much easier for me to avoid.
02/29 - On my way back down! Fasting until dinner because I had a few drinks while playing darts last night. 3 drinks at 80 calories a piece didn't do me in calorie-wise, but I know with IF, alcohol gets burned first, then glycogen, then fat. It was about 1am so it'd be about 5pm before I hit my 16 hours. I'm fine with it, don't feel hungry anyway, despite my stomach grumbling at me lol Shush and enjoy the water and tea, belly! Going to do some yoga for ankle injuries today. Feeling a bit squishy. BF wants me to gain confidence to wear a bikini I bought years ago and forgot I had. It definitely doesn't fit, so I went shopping and trying on today.... squish squish squish. Found a top I absolutely adored (and bought for motivation)! Bottoms however... I'm a pear shape so that's where my squish is. Didn't like my belly hanging over that much and the skin/fat around my hips absorbing the side of the bottoms... I'll be okay by summer if I keep up with what I've been doing the last month, but hopefully I can lose the squishy feeling I've gained in the last few days by next week. If not, they have swim bottoms that are like shorts and I can get those until I'm more comfortable. (BF is not being controlling, he just hates that I don't have confidence or find myself beautiful/attractive. I'll wear it around friends who are also like me but more comfortable with wearing a bikini, no matter their body shape. I know they'll hype me up and get me more comfortable with myself)
03/01 - Didn't expect to meet my goal so soon. Apparently the fasting worked wonders! Only had 60oz of water, rather than 90, but I had a very late start -- only began drinking water at 1130! Coffee pot is packed so I am surviving on tea for my caffeine fix (to avoid migraines) and water. It definitely forces me to get more in. Now to keep it up and maybe I'll be fortunate enough to get to 144.x? I suppose it is possible now that I've had this drop, but I won't get my hopes up. Dinner will be fajitas with the flat iron steak I have. Need to use it up and neighbor is happy grilling it for us. Not sure about lunch but have some leftover stir fry veggies I will try to get in with whatever else I find to eat. My pantry and freezer are dwindling quite nicely, though it makes healthy eating a little more challenging. A good lesson in portion control I suppose.
03/02 - Not a big deal, expected bounce from sodium. Could not resist the temptation of chips and guacamole with our fajitas last night. Got my 90oz of water but the salt came at dinner so no time to flush. Woke up feeling that water-weight squish. It'll go down quickly, I think, if I stick to my goals. Lots of water today, naked fajitas for lunch, and not quite sure dinner yet, but focused on making it light.
03/03 - Water weight gone from sodium binge. I will say, I wasn't quite expecting it to be gone that quick. Now to keep it here or drop more. No more going up! I got my 90oz water in yesterday. Not much by way of food in the house anymore. If my burger patties are thawed by tonight, I'll cook one up (no bun) with a side of veggies for dinner. There are 4 of them so it should be enough for tonight, tomorrow night (food truck at work as my splurge for lunch), and Thursday lunch and dinner. Hopefully I have enough veggies on hand to make it through that! Today's lunch is a can of chicken and dumpling soup. Not ideal, plenty of sodium as all canned soups are, but its what I had available. Either that or overpriced vending machine food. At least the sodium will be early on and I have time to flush it out before tomorrow. Will have to figure out Friday's food when I get there.. I'm off work so I have options.
03/04 - Actually surprised by this. Today is my coworker's last day. She and I went to lunch one last time together yesterday so I had a much larger, heavier meal. I was 70 calories under my goal with just lunch. Luckily for me, it kept me full through dinner. I had a handful of frozen grapes for a sweet tooth and was satisfied. Today we have the food truck (tradition for another coworker and I). The burger patties I had planned for last night weren't thawed so thankfully I wasn't hungry. Hopefully by tonight they will be. I moved them lower in the fridge where it doesn't seem to be as cold. Physical therapy this morning - very nice to sleep in! I needed it. Trying to get a couple sessions in before I move. The lady was so nice and understanding. Hopefully I can be out of the brace soon!
03/05 - Well, lunch was heavy and I snacked a few times during the day so dinner was out. Luckily, I wasn't hungry so skipping dinner and doing an unplanned OMAD type day wasn't difficult. Kind of upset that my MFP app and the desktop version show different numbers in my food diary. They sync food, but not goals? I thought I was okay on calories according to my app, but when I looked in detail the goals I adjusted on the desktop site are different than the goals in the app and I was, in fact, over calories by approx 150. Oh well, I still got a loss out of it (likely due to the fasting since 5pm instead of my usual 7pm) and I'll take it. Had my first physical therapy appt for my ankle yesterday and one more tomorrow. The difference in strength between my ankles is very small so I've already progressed much further than my PT expected. Managed some yoga last night for detox and digestion. Tummy was rumbling (not hunger) after so I guess that practice got some things moving. It was tough and my balance isn't what it was a few weeks ago, but it felt good and apparently worked for digestion. Definitely broke a sweat which I missed.

02/27- 157.2 sigh. I'm only just back to where I finished at 2 rounds ago. I got a new digital scale so I'll see if it fluctuates like my old one. I'm not going to super obsess about it, because I don't have that much left to reach goal.
02/28- 156.4 Happy about this. Did 30 min of HIIT in the AM and walked 2 miles. Will try to be good on the weekend, but have drinks tonight.
02/29- 156.7- Rode Frosty since the ground was frozen.

03/02- 157.0- well that's not awful for a weekend. I'm always super active, but then I don't really track and eat a bunch of crap. It doesn't help I was ghosted yet again and I'm an emotional eater.
03/03- 158.0 WTH.. I guess that's the weekend. I stayed under calories yesterday, but ate a ton of cabbage soup. Maybe water weight, who knows. Just staying the course. Ran 2.5 miles yesterday with Frosty.
03/04- 156.4 better. I'm guessing that was water weight and salt from the cabbage soup. Tracking calories. It was donut breakfast at school for the youngest today, but I didn't eat the whole thing and I'll try to eat well the rest of the day. Ran 3 miles yesterday.
03/05- 154 I had leg cramps post ride and HIIT last night so I know I'm dehydrated and this is artificial. I won't freak out tomorrow when it's back up. Still, it's nice to see. Only 4 pounds to goal weight. Must drink more water.
03/06- 154.2 I went over calories yesterday by a little. I was just really hungry. I don't think I got enough protein or drank enough water. Protein is what keeps me full and it's hard to get enough without going over in calories. I'm sure I'll pay for the overage tomorrow... Short ride on Frosty yesterday

03/01 62.8, calories were 1230. I finally got under 63.3! Maybe my scale is not as sensitive as it should be. I'm happy to finally see some progress!
03/02 62.8 calories were 1499. I splurged a little with a taco salad for dinner.

03/04 63.3 calories were 1329. Started my period so I suspect that's why the number went up. Ate way too much chocolate today! I don't expect to see the scale go back down for the next few days, but I will try to be good and stay consistent calorie wise.

02/28 160.4 1751 calories, 8000 steps, physical therapy was a waste of time, I got a heat pack for ten minutes and went over exercises that I had already been doing before this last month of back pain. No massaging, nothing. But come back twice a week so I can take your money. Ummm... I made another appointment with the doctor today, which is 90 miles of driving again. If I don't get an MRI and something to get me through the weekend........ I gave into tears from pain and ate two rows of girl scout cookies.
02/29. 159.2lbs. MRI today.
03/01. 159.6 lbs. 2500 calories, 6000 steps spent four driving to mri but met my daughter and she took me out for supper and we splurged on desserts. So this number will continue to go up for another day. Restarting this month, hoping to find out what’s wrong with back, get some pain control and take back my life.
03/02 160.0 lbs 1085 calories, 7500 steps
03/03 160.2 1375 calories, 19500 steps. Back is better but loss is hard with no IF because of eating breakfast with pain pills in the morning. Hard to keep calories to 1000 for loss.
03/04 160.6 lbs 1136 calories, 18,500 steps. So my stomach the last couple days are not liking the pills plus I keep gaining no matter how much exercise. So going off the pills to fix my stomach. Ugh!
03/05 160. 0 lbs 1036 calories, 15,200 steps. IF 16 hours. So I ended up taking the pill at noon and continuing with them because my back started getting worse. Another side effect is water retention. Stomach is still not happy on this diet. No MRI results yet.
