I changed my weigh in day to Saturday for this month. It's been a hectic and stressful week here and I'm glad it's over! Sunny and 70 yesterday and today so I've been getting in long walks with my pup. Eating has been kind of all over the place from not eating much at all at the beginning of the week to eating more in the past few days. I was down to 239.9 earlier in the week but have bounced back up. I had lost over 3 pounds in 3 days, which is not good. If I get overly stressed I stop eating and that's not the way I want to lose the weight. Anyway, hopefully the rest of the month will be smoother sailing. Still no conclusive test results for my sister. Doctors are really frustrating sometimes.

My body is still getting used to me exercising regularly. And hydrating properly. I expect my losses going forward won't be quite as extreme.6 -
Hi everyone! Hope all is well. I’ve been skimming and it seems like a lot of people have had a rough start to March. Luckily we’re only a week in so hopefully it turns around soon! Everyone in my state is worried because the Coronavirus finally hit us, so the stores are wiped and just the generally vibe of the city isn’t the best. I’m trying to not let it stress me out, but I worry about my mom. She has a lot of health issues.
I definitely did not have a loss this week, but I plan to weigh on Monday. I’m a little nervous honestly, but I know I just need to bite the bullet and do it. I hope the weekend is restful and recharging for everyone!8 -
@Aerohead21 I have the same negotiations in my head, last night I was negotiating Chinese food. I ate a salad for lunch and had a quesadilla for an early dinner around 4pm but come around 6pm I was hungry again. I ended up negotiating on some spicy pork chop, no sides. I logged it and it put me over, but I satisfied my craving without throwing everything out the window. Can you make room for some chocolate in your calorie budget? I know you have a low calorie limit but I think making room for chocolate instead of denying yourself it may help this not feel so depriving. You may not need it but if it will make your weight loss journey less miserable then I would see if I can fit it in somewhere.
@katarina005 Reflect on your week but don't beat yourself up. A new week starts now
@Tarzan37 Stress definitely affects my eating too. I hope they can figure out what is wrong with your sister soon
@asthesoapturns I also started exercising this week, unsure of how it will affect the scale but I feel SO GOOD! That alone is worth it
@torihudson6 It is definitely a concern here in CA as well. Panic in stores with no water or toilet paper available. If your mom can stay home and avoid crowds as much as possible that would be best. Hoping that safety precautions (wash your hands!) help stop the rapid spreading. Also cute profile pic!
I signed up for a STEAM collaborative at work which means I signed up for Saturday work! Lol but its good money and stuff I can bring into my class so not complaining. I woke up early and you know what I did? I ran a mile! Took me 15 minutes lol but I did it. I was debating whether I had time to go to the gym beforehand or if I should go later and I decided to just get up and run now. It felt SO GOOD! My knees didn't ache, I was able to keep a steady pace. I still plan on going to the gym tomorrow morning to get my 4X done for the week. Who am I? Lol
For anyone struggling with motivation to exercise just know that its been about 4 months since I started this journey and I only now have strung along a weeks worth of exercise. Your motivation will come, just keep up your better eating habits, keep positive intentions for yourself and when the time is right you will get moving. Have a great Saturday everyone8 -

A little about me.. I used MFP religously back in 2011-2013 but then graduated college, started a job working 70 hours a week and lost most sight of any sort of healthy lifestyle. Fast forward to Dec 2018 - I was in a MVA and ended up in the hospital and inpatient rehab for 98 days. I dislocated my R foot, fractured 5 ribs, punctured my R lung, broke my R wrist, broke my L collarbone, snapped my L femur, and my L tibia/fibula/ankle were shattered along with 7 of my toes. I didn't walk on both feet until August 2019.
My goals for this spring are just to get back into healthy eating and gaining strength back. My left leg, as you can imagine, is fairly weak from not using it for so long. In addition to working my strength back up, I need to lose some of this flab as I found 2 super cute wedding dresses that looked nice now but would look AWESOME a few sizes smaller Wedding is June 2021, so I have some time to make it happen.
I always welcome new MFPals so feel free to add me!
You're on your way! I would suggest water areboics regularly...5 -
Oof. Today we cleaned several large broken things out of the garage, and we have more to do, but we didn't have room and were too tired after one trip to the electronics recycling/Goodwill/ sports resale store to do a second. It freed up a lot of space, so now I can work on getting the smaller things packed up and all things in boxes tidily for the eventual move. I lifted and toted a lot today, and I am tired and sore. Definitely ate back exercise calories today. I can be a little hungry and be okay with it for an hour or so, but there's a level of ravenous especially when doing physical work that I feed. I may not always have to do that like that, because I used to not be able to be a little hungry that long, but right now I do.
In my first marriage I had someone who I could say, "Hey, good weather on Saturday, let's load the weight set we don't use and the broken electronics and get rid of them," and he would agree on Wednesday but once Saturday got here he'd absolutely refuse to do it because he wanted to go do something else, or he was too tired even to help me load it up, or didn't want me to use the car because he might could want to go do something. And then he'd snipe at me about things being a mess. So it was very healing for me to have Boyfriend willing to help me identify what was going, help me take it apart and load it up, and spend the late morning/early afternoon doing it even though he would have rather spent the day writing. Now I can handle boxing up the loose stuff and disposing of the things we don't want at the local resale place.10 -
Just want to start off by saying thank you to all you lovely ladies about your words of encouragement and understanding towards my post about my emotional binge on Friday. It seems that although I had quite a binge I still somehow managed to lose weight this week, 1.2kg (2.6lbs) to be exact! So my stats are as follows:
SW 101.3kg (223.lbs) 26 Jan 2020
Feb SW 95.5kg (210.5lbs)
CW 94.3 (207.8lbs)
GW for Feb 92kg (202.8lbs)
I had a NSV this week and that is that I managed to jog on the treadmill for 15 minutes straight at a level 2 incline and speed of 5.2km/h (3.2miles/hr). I know it’s not much for some but for me this is huge!! And I wasn’t dying either by the end of it! I’m hoping to slowly increase my jogging distance and maybe one day go into running.
There’s something I haven’t mentioned before. Only my husband and kids know about my weight loss journey. All my family either live interstate or in the US (for those that don’t know I’m in Australia). Mum keeps asking if I’ll be starting a journey anytime soon and I keep telling her not yet as I’m so busy with my 6 kids, particularly my 15 month old twins and 5 month old baby. I’m trying really hard to lose this weight and to surprise her. We have a lot of heart disease in my family so getting my weight under control would be huge.
As for goals, I’m still not drinking enough water. So need to keep on that. I’ve tried drinking a glass every hour but it leaves me feeling nauseous so I might try half a cup every half hour that way I’m hoping to get in 2 litres of water a day. Also my fat consumption hasn’t been good this week either, but not too bad either. Still need to work on that.9 -
Thank you for your words of encouragement. Husband and his pneumonia are not very well and he’s sleeping in the spare room to try stop me catching it, I miss hugs!
Got through a huuuge work day today, wtom arrived, ate my exercise calories totally back for the first time this year, scraped and to be honest I don’t care...I’ve worked hard, done great and I was craving energy and carbs.
Hope you’re all having a good weekend, be kind to yourselves xxx7 -
@sharpdust I may have pushed my luck a little, 1 1/2 walk up and down steep hills, but I love going down to the quay, and didn't want to bus it. Feet are a bit sore XD
@svm569 I can't drink 64oz in a day unless I'm sweating like heck. I'd have to camp put in the bathroom. Try a lower point and find what works for you.
@fitchick37 I hope your husband get over his pneumonia quickly. I had it last year, it's very rough. Take good care of yourself too!4 -

I've just been going to Anytime Fitness since I've had a membership there for 2 years and barely used it pre accident haha I've already gotten a LOT stronger just from the handful of workouts I've done4 -
Hi, all. No loss for me this week either but I refuse to stress about it. Just planning to keep on keeping on ... I’ll weigh again Monday just as a pulse check.
I have faith that our March will end in Triumph. Just wait and see💕10 -
I really believe our weight loss results this week are squarely the fault of the time change tomorrow! Yes, that’s the culprit for sure!😊8

Oh my goodness! I was so busy most of Thursday and all of Friday I had no chance to read this thread and now I'm several pages behind! I'l catch up eventually but I wanted to get a post in.

The physical therapy is doing wonders, so I'm back in the grove with running. Went for my longest run in 4 years this morning. About an hour of running covering 5.5 miles.
Work has been stressful and busy, but family and friends have buoyed my spirits. My youngest girl is home for Spring Break - she's such a joy to have in the house. My husband and I have been enjoying Portland Dining Month - we went out 3 times last week! Amazing food. I've been logging the meal in advance and using that info to help me decide what to eat for breakfast and lunch. But today I cooked at home and made quite a feast for dinner. White Bean au Vin with Polenta and a Vegan Caesar Salad. My daughter was thrilled to be eating my cooking again. Ah, life is good. I am feeling so happy these days. So full of life and love.12 -
A sudden death struck my family this weekend, my cousin's husband committed suicide this morning, any good vibes, positive thoughts, and/or prayers (whatever your preference) would be greatly appreciated for her and their 3 children. I felt so helpless in receiving that call this morning...what can you do or say in this situation...all I could muster was telling her I was there for her, anything she needed to just let me know.
Now to switch gears before I get too many emotions going...
Sooo...tomorrow is weigh in day for me and I DREAD IT...the weekend spent so far has been traveling and eating out...YUCK!! I haven't made myself exercise at all since this month began, so it isn't looking favorable for me to reach my 20 days of exercise goal, well we have 23 days left this month and if I am going to get anywhere close to accomplishing it I better get moving tomorrow. I have so been using this group forum as my outlet this month, which seems to be one giant nest of stress and I feel like a baby bird stuck inside it...hopefully soon I can get that push outta the nest and get back to flying!!! GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE OUT THERE and know I am sending encouraging thoughts to any who are struggling right now!

Sorry, haven't tapped in for a bit here. Twas a rough Feb/early March. I'm just getting over my second round of flu (2 weeks sick out of 3 - Boo!) This second one knocked me way down, didn't eat for over 2 days, barely drank because every time I did it would feel like I was gagging and make me throw up. Chills, sweats, too sore to move, the whole shebang. I was a sad, sorry Hurley. On the up side, it knocked the scale back 10 pounds in 2 days, on the down side, that's water weight and not a healthy way to drop a couple, besides. Had to laugh at my logging for those two days. My activity tracker showed me with daily steps of 186 and 875, but burning more calories than a normal day. That shivering and restlessness will do that to a person, I suppose. Egh. Glad it's mostly over. I finally feel human today with the throat and cough much improved. I wanted to burn the bed/bedclothes/bedroom, but settled for washing everything including myself until I could stand us. Feeling stronger today, mostly myself, finally.
Sooo, on that note, here's my current status for March:
SW: 310 lbs
GW: 150 lbs
CW: 272.6 lbs (-37.4 lbs after rehydrating back from 270.4)
End of March goal: 270 (-40 lbs)
Mar 1: 278.0
Mar 7: 272.6

Hope all you lovely ladies have been doing well! It's supposed to warm up tomorrow and the family and I are going to hit the trails.11 -
Morning all, good to see all of you hanging in there, dealing with the ups and downs of life. Hugs and high fives!
I haven't really set goals for the month because i'm away from home most of the month with one thing and another, and want to focus on fitting in with the people I'm with and taking the meals as they come, but hoping at least to log everything and read this thread every day, so far so good! Today I'm by the seaside with a friend and we are planning a 9 mile walk. Good luck all!7 -

💚Hello, all! Doing my Sunday night check-in.
In Corona news: they've reopened my school to the teachers and staff, but students won't be coming back until March 23rd. I was still being very cautious this week and not really going anywhere but to the convenience store in my building and to my school, which is on my block. I might venture to the grocery store this week (which is only two blocks away) if I can go during non-peak hours. I'm being hella paranoid and everyone else I know is just living their life (albeit with a mask on), but I'm just gonna continue to hang out in my apartment where the germs hopefully can't find me.🤞🤞🤞
I felt really proud of myself for eating a healthy lunch on Friday when all of my co-workers ordered in fast food. I had finished my lunch by the time theirs arrived and the smell of grease was overpowering. Also, I'm thinking of ordering dumbbells to be delivered to my apartment, which I think would help more than just the stretchy bands I have currently.
Anyway, my goals for next week are to keep cooking and bringing my own lunches to work and to exercise at least three times. Best of luck to everyone else next week!9
