Kate UK - Sorry to hear about your holiday worries. Spain is having a lot of problems. Is it worth going? They are taking stricter measures than us.
Allie - I hope looking after your granddaughter won't stop you being active in looking for a job. Perhaps she could help you!

Bummer: We have been encouraged to increase our tele-work day schedules, but not directed to work from home totally yet.
Corona Impact: We cancelled out our trip to Virginia Beach for next week. We decided to have some friends join us at a local restaurant for dinner Wednesday to celebrate DH’s 71st birthday. Now I’m not sure we should even do that. I managed to order my groceries for delivery Saturday morning. Whew! I was getting worried that there wouldn't be much left on the store shelves. Up to this point DH has been pretty resistant about the grocery pickup and delivery services. This morning after hearing about the stores’ long lines and lack of stock for some things he caved in. I was relieved and pleased.
OMG! For the first time in my life I owe taxes. I’ll make sure this doesn’t happen again by changing my deductions.
Katla: Happy 50th Anniversary in advance.
Mary: I often self sabotage too. I just try to keep my mind on my goal. The most important thing after you fall off the wagon is getting back up there.
Debby: I hadn’t heard about the cases in Williamsburg and Yorktown. I’ve been thinking that most of the cases have occurred near military bases in Virginia.
Barbara: Thanks for the Epsom salt bath suggestion. Yes indeed! It does ease the itching but it also dries my skin out which aggravates the eczema even more. The web says lukewarm showers using a gentle cleanser, pat dry and liberally apply the cortisteriod. The doctor is going to give me a shot to relieve the itching on Tuesday along with my biopsy results.
Heather: I feel the same way about my grandchildren. “Excited to see them come. Delighted to see them go.”
Take care!

Heather So glad Saga finally cancelled their cruises. I felt certain they would, but just in the nick of time! I would take the refund now.

Learning Coach for grandson today. Mostly Algebra, which he detests. His younger sister is home because our county schools are closed for a Preparedness Day for teachers in anticipation of area-wide school closings. Grandson is going to find this unfair and be in a foul mood most likely. This should be fun.

JR undies have rubber inside so holds the wetness in more.Still doesn’t phase him tho . He must have a high thresh hold for wet discomfort I’d be wanting dryness. Going to keep trying maybe he’ll catch on soon to what Y why I want him to stay dry for.
Concentration on JRs birthday with Pawpaw tomorrow. Happy thoughts 💭.
We’re all informed got the links to check to make daily decisions.Seeing bad sources popping up from them tabloids (Elvis had an aliens 👽 baby ones) on the news even now. Just keep living make any changes we need to as we go to our daily routines to meals. If we figure out low cal recipes for a stockpile of ramen noodles post it.
Big hugs guys. We got to look forward like Women who have survived in the past from wars to outbreaks. They were the back bones 🦴 in such times of trials y tribulations so are we (same DNA 🧬! Same instincts!) we can do this.Hard but will get through.

Good morning ladies!
And we have a chilly morning with snow in the forecast.
Barbara AHMOD - it sure warmed my heart to read about you taking your elderly neighbor in for a warm-up. Brave of her to leave her house and actually come to a neighbor's. We could all be there some day. Dog-washing... crossing fingers there's another groomer close to you. Can be quite a task even when they are small like ours.
Margaret and those of you with family members who are medically fragile-sending good thoughts your way. You are doing the right stuff, using common sense. I turned into a compulsive hand-washer several years ago and nary a sniffle (other than allergies) has reared its ugly head in our house despite us never getting flu shots.
Lisa - bet it IS good to have your house back to normal. Where did you say the family was headed?
Katla and Tere - what is it about those darn huge pickups? Ever since I read about your mishaps, it seems those flippin monsters end up parking next to me... so hard to back out of a parking place as I can't see around them. Wish they'd be directed to park down by where the RV's park, or at least out by themselves. Anyhow, glad insurances will be making things right. Such a hassle and worry though.
Rebecca - love those Athena pix. Holy smokes she's growing fast! I know grandparents aren't supposed to ask - have the kids said if they have plans to eventually add a brother or sister for her?
Heather - I agree, take the money and run, lol. By the way - glad your DH's blood test scare turned out to be nothing, and glad no long term damage from the fainting.
Here's my latest Master Gardener volunteer saga and has to do with criminal history background checks! How's that for a lead-in? It's an epistle so free to skip.Because we often interact with children, volunteers are required to go through criminal history background checks every 2 years per the state policy. In the past, we've submitted name, social security number, and date of birth (no fingerprints) to the county coordinator which was then forwarded directly to the State Patrol for checking through the state and national database for any hits.
Now, we are due again. This time, they have contracted with a third party vendor and we've been instructed to go online and submit our information. So I got onto this vendor's website and actually read the "read this then sign" information. It was about our rights for doing them a credit check. That sent off my alarms. I emailed our county coordinator and asked him what this was all about.
He answered back not to worry, they weren't going to do a credit check, just the criminal history part, and he gave me every assurance it would be fine. Something still didn't seem right.
I went back online to the vendor's website and searched out their legal part - terms of service. Disclaimers all over the place.
I then emailed their legal department and specifically asked, if they were hacked, would they assume any responsibility for financial problems we volunteers might have as a result? Like when Equifax got hacked?
I never had any concerns about that when information was forwarded directly to State Patrol.
Haven't heard back. I'm guessing their answer is a big no, and how could they? I went thru the complete background with fingerprints several months ago for a concealed carry permit, and if the MG folks won't accept that, I am done.
Covid-19.I agree we are approaching over-saturation level here. Additional suggestion - especially for the "news reports" that have videos - how about putting them in a spoiler? Or just providing a link so those of us with interest can explore further?
Weight-wise.... I've reached maintenance and now the challenge really begins.... can I allow treats in at night and still skip breakfast doing a 16 or 17 hour fast without gaining? Going on my 3rd month. Got a jar of Kim Chee at the store and it's really good and gingery and garlicky, all things good for the immune system. Keeps the vampires away too.
Mary - you look great. But a question - have you changed anything in your 19:5 plan that is causing you worry? Maybe you said and I missed it.
Heading to town shortly to get my early morning shopping done before the zombies rise, lol.
Make it a good Friday the 13th, ladies. We still have many, many blessings and things to be grateful for despite the gloom and doom news reports.

Did Jillian Michaels 10 Minute Body DVD. The plan for tomorrow is to do Kari Anderson’s Center Floor DVD.
Made a cake for Vince Wed. and iced it yesterday. I previously made my own icing but right now I’m thinking that we’re getting tired of it so maybe I’ll stop for a while.
Newcomer bowling last night. Jess called while we were going into the bowling alley. Seems the official word from Iowa state is that officially they are going to only online classes for the next 3 weeks. That’ll take her up to spring break. But in talking to the professors they feel that it’ll be extended until the end of the semester. Still…I wonder how they’re going to address the issue of the surgeries. So maybe we’ll have her living here. No, she’ll probably go to VA
For years whenever I went to the md office or the dentist or whatever, I’d take my tablet for reading material.
Lisa – thank you very much for your words about the virus. I many times just skim posts that are only about the virus. What will be will be. Ohhh….Levi is adorable (like Athenia. Hey, can you just imagine if the two of them got together?)
Before the soup kitchen today I need to go to the post office, then the bank. On the way home I need to stop at WalMart to get Loki’s med and Vince’s. I’m also going to look out of curiosity to see if they have any more alcohol. If they do, I could probably use some, but I don’t need it right now.
Lanette – SNOW??? Oh, according to the bulletin at church, anyone who volunteers in the church is supposed to have a background check. I can totally understand those who work with the children, but someone like me who only lectors and is Eucharistic Minister sometimes? Oh well.. Credit check????
Katla – when we were down at the condo, to be honest, I really didn’t like parking next to Vince. He has a big SUV and I always worried about people there walking in the parking lot and my not seeing them. I never told him

Women of the past I’m times of tribulations banned together we built planes ✈️,sewed, gathered water from afar no matter how unsafe, saved many,y fed with whatever we have. We can do this again! We survived more than the younger generations cause we worry then pick ourselves up dust off find our strength!
We have been the Witch Doctors to even plaque Doctor's in the past . We were nurses to actresses for troops. We have been the builders to caregivers since the dawn of times! We hunted, gathered, tanned hides, sewed it into clothes! We make a house even if we only have 1 lawn chair 🪑, a bowl,y a pot to piss in only! We survived NO sleep with sick kids to been sick ourselves waiting hand y foot on others who are less or more sick since we were old enough to carry the rags behind mama with the ice water bath bowl in her arms!
We’re strong 💪 we will always be strong 💪! That’s why God gave us a cry valve we let off the steam get back up like a kettle ready for tea times!
I am 143.6 lbs today! I budged! JR asked for underwear 🩲 again.Even if it’s for for awhile got to be glad for it at least. Asked the doctor by phone he said Boys are stubborn trainers but girls catch on fast accept it more. He said stick with it he’ll finally catch on like when Mom makes her boy do his homework as he kicks like a mule he finally sits at college or a job doing paperwork without a push.

Machka: Complacency is one of the problems which leads to the spread. I applaud all your very sensible precautions. I have upped my laundry schedule, too. Hand washing is a given, and I use tissues to operate door handles etc when outside the home. I will increase measures as/when/if things change.
Your vigilance is crucial in view of your situation re your DH. Neither of us have major underlying health problems to contend with, but are being cautious nevertheless.3 -

Just off out for a walk with DH. Back later.1 -
Kate UK - Would your travel insurance cover it if DH is sick? Or is there a big excess? Of course your doctor would have to provide a certificate.
Karen - That Lily Belle already looks so grown up!
We walked over to the fish market in the sunshine. Glorious. Bought fish soup, faux caviar, blinis, frozen king prawns, fresh haddock and two small skate wings.
The promenade was half covered with pebbles again! Sea spray coming over the sea wall. Nearly got soaked!
Going to ice the cake next.

Enjoying seeing pictures of all those babies .. and flowers and pups..5 -
Lannette- Thanks. I still do the 19:5 fasting and it really helps keep me within calories the majority of the time. I am working on the last 10 pounds that I have never lost before. I’m just amazed at how our minds can sabotage our efforts! We can be on plan for weeks but go off one day and feel like a failure and mentally give up. I agree with Tere that it’s important to get back up on the wagon as quickly as possible!
Thanks for sharing the baby/grandchildren/fur baby pictures they bring me joy and make me smile! Here’s one of my favorites. The twins after putting on makeup.

Mary Just checking with you to make sure the 10 lb goal is feasible - is this goal to lose 10 extra lbs you had regained, or 10 lbs less than your size 0 photo? What is your current BMI?2

The 10 pounds is just a number. I’m really going for muscle development and fat loss. I’m not sure what my BMI actually is. I’m currently at the weight of the size 0 photo. However sizes of clothes fluctuate by brands. I’m trying to do a recomposition which is building muscle through diet and exercise and lose any left over body fat. I hope to be like Ernestine Shepherd someday. I’m actually very close. My goal is to continue to strengthen my bones through the Kettlebell and progressive overload. I’m definitely not anorexic. I want to show women our age that they can be healthy, strong, and get rid of their tummy rolls through a healthy diet and exercise! Maybe someday if I get bored I can become a fitness instructor. I already have a coaching license.

Good morning, all.
Allie -- is today your last day of work? Have you had your farewell dinner yet?
Virus talk below -- don't want to be ghosted by anyone! My life is consumed with virus talk, so not much to add here. My schedule for next week was just blown up because of emergency meetings scheduled. 13 year old's school was cancelled for two weeks. My ex husband lives in S. Korea, in Daegu, which was totally locked down. We were emailing last night, and he told me to hang on -- the ride is going to get really bumpy. I am already at my max, honestly, trying to juggle my on campus students/faculty and my prison students/faculty (all Oregon prisons are now closed to the outside for 30 days.) What to do, what to do.
Breathe and calm down. This too shall pass.
Love, love, love the baby, young children pictures. Those babies especially, are just too much!

Kate UK - Foreign Office now advising against all but essential travel to some areas of Spain. If it extends to your bit then that would also be an insurance claim.
Phew! Iced my cake. It was really, really hard. I've put a very thin layer of chocolate butter icing in the middle. Then I had to piece together the top, which had fallen to bits and then cover the top in blue buttercream. That is the last time EVER I will ice a 4 cake! No one will notice how bad it is once all the decorations are on it and I won't be offended if people scrape off all the sickly icing. The cake is more like a really fudgy brownie. Still, it's only Bea who has to approve of it.
Photos tomorrow once it's decorated.
Cup of tea waiting for me.

Covid-19 responseThank you well said! I think because my whole family is at risk including me for the tougher version is what makes me so cautious and wanting as much accurate knowledge as possible. I just want there to a bed for any one who needs it to survive this virus, the flu for that matter, or any other life saving medical procedure. This is what is meant why it is so important to level the curve. It is everyone's best interest. Hence that is what I meant by somethng greater than myself. Unfortunately I cannot do this alone we need everyone doing what they can to issure the safety of ourselves and of our loved ones.
I am walking my talk I will stay home as much as possible the next three plus months...I am giving up subbing, singing in the choir because the church I attend has at least 500 attend, and my painting class at the Y. I just rescheduled a rountine dental appointment. When I do go out I will take the same kind of precautions you take Terri.
My next goal is to set a rountine with all this addtional time I have since these are off the menu for awhile.3 -

Mary - I've noticed on the Delay Don't Deny Intermittent Fasting group on Facebook, there are many, many fasters reporting small amounts of weight loss according to the scale, yet losing plenty of inches and sizes.
So maybe you are one who needs to ignore the scale and gauge your success on how your jeans are fitting, as others here have mentioned. I've tried real hard to use that approach instead of dwelling on that lying scale, lol. You look great, and remember that a photograph adds ten pounds so in real life you probably look ready to set sail in a strong wind.
Those twins putting on makeup are so cute. I think they could show ME a few tricks, lol.
Karen in VA - pls tell Lilly Belle to quit growing so fast! What fun to get to see her so often. Do you folks have her every day? Do you still help home- school your grandson?
