3/18: 139.0 (+.2) – This next several months will be challenging as we are all having to change our daily realities, activities, eating, etc. The more we can talk about it the better. I went to my small gym today (at a private club so its still open but they are limiting it to 10 people at a time. Thankfully I was by myself, and rode the bike for an hour and rowed for 10 min. I miss running and walking as I need fresh air. But I am determined to heal the hip and keep on keeping on. Everyone hang in there.😘
3/19: 139.0 (0) Nothing new. Just trying to stay put and work, entertain myself, eat healthy, etc. I went to the nursery yesterday, waiting to get in as they kept it to 10 people and strolled around in fresh air and bought a few plants to repot my pots. That will be nice…to be outdoors. Take care❤🌻🌞
3/20: 140.2 (+1.2) Ate like crap at dinner. Drank wine. Stressed and sad. Overwhelmed with all of this BS right now. Will try to do better. Sorry to be such a Debbie Downer😥
3/21: 139.8 (-.4) Went to the gym yesterday before it shut down. Was alone until I wasn’t so that was weird. Not any more. Peloton arrived today for a trial. Will give it a whirl later.😎
3/22: 140.4 (+.6) Peloton is here….fun so far. Eating comfort food while comforting is not the best for weight watching. Found out this morning that my 24 year old son in NYC is showing symptoms of a virus – assuming Covid 19 but he will not go to doctor because they said per the website not to bother unless you were in bad shape. No testing available either. He will just have to deal….sent him some stuff yesterday so hopefully he stays mild and can rest and stay in for a week and be over it.😑
3/23: 139.2 (-1.2) Ate a pretty unhealthy lunch but a really healthy vegetarian dinner. Drank some wine. No idea why I am up and down a lot other than stress. Life is unreal these days so not going to attempt to be able to understand it. It’s going to be a long week. 😒
3/24:138.0 (-1.2) No idea….did eat under and did a very short ride. I think the veggies helped my system reset. Need to do that more! Was able to find a thermometer and fed ex to my son. I hope he is ok. 😯

3/18 192.2 Happy to start with a loss! Am down and blue this morning—didn’t sleep well, my daughter was laid off with the rest of her company, so this at least is something nice to think about. Working hard to get exercise in and keep calories green. Can’t let the blues mess with progress...
3/19 192.2 Happy to stick with the lower weight and not bounce up. So far sticking to the program but struggling with feeling burned out by all the firefighting and emotional support I have to put out there.
3/20 192.2 Exact same weight again. Realistically I’m doing the exact same things—eating green, exercising—but I’m also out of routine with this working at home and have a higher level of anxiety as reflected in a rising average resting heart rate. So I’m ok with maintaining—my goal is to be compassionate with myself right now. Compassionate by being healthy, but not harsh.
3/21 DNW—away from scale
3/22 191.4 Yay, a loss! Was worried about the salty pot roast last night and not much vegetables.
3/23 191.4 Kept the loss, happy with that. Started omega oil pills last night—nauseous this morning and didn’t get in my run. Wondering if it’s related.
3/24 191.4 was hoping for a little more off, but ‘twas not to be...at least no gain. I developed a sore shin yesterday, may have to stick to the exercise bike for a little while to rest it. Never feel like I work out as hard on the bike...I should look up some videos to keep it interesting.

Day/Weight/Comment
3/18: 272.0 lbs (-2.1) … my uptick weight continues to fall off. Got in a nice run this afternoon, running for 28 minutes at a 12:00/mi pace. Felt good to get back to that after all the stress and uncertainty lately. Didn’t quite get enough steps in to hit my daily 10k goal by the evening so I went on an almost 3 mile walk at 10pm with my headlamp on. Hopefully I didn’t weird out my neighbors, but it was nice to get some fresh air and exercise. | Running: C25k Week 8 Day 1 | 15,806 steps |
3/19: 269.2 lbs (-2.8) … big drop today, which I found surprising given that I didn’t eat super clean yesterday. This marks the first new low in about a week or so and now I’ve finally fully recovered from my recent uptick. It’s a little dreary today but my wife and I are still going to go for our lunch walk anyway. It’s good to get out of the house -- we’re feeling pretty cooped up being home all the time. | 10,741 steps |
3/20: 271.8 lbs (+2.6) … up a bit today. Not surprised to be honest, yesterday was a big, unexpected drop. Might have just been a little dehydrated or something. | Running: C25k Week 8 Day 2 | 10,441 steps |
3/21: 270.6 lbs (-1.2) … down again, a bit more reasonable of a dip this time. Had a very tiring day, went for a bike ride and then spent about 4 hours doing yardwork. | Bicycling: 5.5 miles | Raking 3 hours, Misc Yardwork 2 hours | 14,805 steps |
3/22: 271.3 lbs (+0.7) … I was really tired today and took it pretty easy. Engaged in a bit of stress eating in the evening, landing somewhere around maintenance calories. | Rest Day | 4,314 steps |
3/23: 271.4 lbs (+0.1) … My second week of working from home starts today. Getting back to my daily walks and keeping myself at 10,000+ steps per day after a break yesterday. Went for a nice walk over lunch and then spent about 2 hours shoveling snow and playing with my daughter out there, helping her build a snow fort despite only getting around 6 inches of accumulation. I wound up shoveling parts of the yard to concentrate snow in the area she was playing | Snow Shoveling: 1.5-2 hours | 13,064 steps |
3/24: 269.9 lbs (-1.5) … Down a bit more today. Yesterday started a week-long step challenge at work and I got trounced on the first day with one of my coworkers pulling out 18,000ish steps. Going to need to ramp that up if I want a chance at winning. Went for a long walk this morning before work. Planning to go back out at lunchtime. | Walking: lots | 8,471 steps as of 10:30am |

03/18 - 361.8 - Good news. My interview on Monday went well. Better news. I have applied for several positions with state (PA) and federal gov't. One position with the state just got back to me and said I scored a 100 on their test. Now I'm just a bit excited. Getting a job with either means I can use my time in the Air Force towards retirement. I'll have to work until I'm 72, but hey... it does take a huge weight off my shoulders. Bittersweet news... My mom has lived with me for the past 20+ years. We recently found out she has early stage dementia. But the state is saying she now qualifies for in-home health care. Which means that while I am at work, someone will be here most of that time. This would be another huge weight off my shoulders. I had to reset my scale and it jumped up. Not happy, but let's see how it goes for the next few day.
03/19 - 360.9 - At a time where the coronavirus is virtually collapsing our economy, I got offered a job yesterday. I just have to pass the background check. As long as my previous employers are honest, I'll be fine. I guess the stress was slowing my weightloss, since I'm down almost a pound. The real barometer is if it continues. Time will tell. Also got my payout from my 6-month DietBet. I put in $175 and got out $176.30. Yup, a whopping $1.30 of winnings. Needless to say, I won't be doing that again. And that's a cautionary tale for anyone interested/considering participating.
03/20 - 359.4 - And downward we go. Back under 360 and I hope it stays that way.
03/21 - 359.3 - Slowly we continue. As long as I'm level or dropping, I'm ok.
03/22 - 359.1 - Starting to exercise from home. I liked going to the gym because if I drove there, I seemed to be more invested. I know I have to exercise, even if I sometimes fight myself. Downward we go!
03/23 - 358.0 - I think I'm solidly under 360 now. And a little roadmark... I'm now down over 20% of the total weight I want to drop. And I'm a little ahead since I've now reached my goal for this round.
03/24 - 358.4 - A small tick back. Not a problem, since the downward trend still holds.

Please join us! Starting on 03/18 JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS, we will begin Round 108
Anyone can join us at anytime during the round.
Join us! If we stay mindful we can do this, you can do this.
Welcome back past members, welcome new members, let's keep each other accountable for another 10 days!
Here is what you do: Post your daily weight and add little comments along the way of how your day went. Post everyday to let us know how you're doing! Copy and paste the days in your response--tell us how much you lost and other non scale victories (NSV) you'd like to share.
FOR NEWBIES - I find it easiest to copy the dates to a document or note in my device and edit it each morning. Then copy and paste to the message board. MFP will return you to the spot on the board where you left off on your previous visit which is nice to know if you like to scan all of the posts.

03/18 157.1 ~ {Steps 14,539} ~ Taking one day at a time, yesterday was extremely stressful but I didn’t go to food, yay! It turns out my daughter is working from home this week. This helps since I can be home with my husband this week.
03/19 157.1 ~ {Steps 8,810} ~ Today hopefully things will workout for my daughter to stop out by for lunch. Focus, focus focus! Edit: I didn’t do tooo bad, my hubby wanted Burger King. We will see how it effects my weight.
03/20 157.2 ~ {Steps 13,126} ~ I was able get a couple nice walks in even with all the craziness. I didn’t make the best food choices hence the spike in my weight but it’s okay, I’ll take a pound.
03/21 158.1 ~ {Steps 14,643} ~ I had to run to the store for a few things since I’ll away at my daughters tomorrow hopefully only Thursday. Today though is the last day my husband is working till this gets better. Unfortunately we think it’s better for him not to visit our grandkids too. Let’s all stick together so this can be over, stay safe!
03/22 157.7 ~ {Steps 12,066} ~ The next few days will definitely be a challenge since I’ll be at my daughters till Thursday or Friday.
03/23 157 ~ {Step 8,794} ~ I’m starting the morning with a elliptical workout before my grandkids wake up. As I’m writing this my grandson is coming down the stairs, lol. My main focus is healthy food choices. Let’s stay safe!
03/24 158 ~ {Step TBD} ~ Late dinner last night, ugh. I have no control over dinner time unfortunately!

@merph518 Years ago I was told by a physical therapist that I don’t swing my arms normally when I walk. I assume it’s because of my back surgeries. Consequently, I wear my step tracker on my ankle. I do get some odd looks from people but that’s their problem. It DOES count my steps!4

03/19 122.0 They finally closed our community center. My question is, why does it take 3 people to “man” the empty building through APRIL when no one can get in??? It seems like a lot MORE web surfing will be going on at our expense!
03/20 121.5
03/21 120.5 Apparently I’m more distracted than I had realized. I keep forgetting to make my daily post after I make comments. Yesterday I sat in our courtyard and enjoyed the sun and 59 degree afternoon.
03/22 121.5 A touch of stress eating I think. 7 saltines with butter last night. I have started a diary of our doings and goings on since earlier this month.
03/23 120.5
03/24 120.0 This lockdown is tough. My husband swears it’s been 2 weeks instead of the one it actually has been. I have caved to the desire of that hot end slice of homemade bread and the loaf is almost ready to come out of the oven. It rose for too long and started to fall.😢

3/18 255.6 The start of heading back down and hopefully to new lows this round.
3/19 254.4 That’s the previous low I hit anything lower will be a new low. I was looking through my phone at older photos and then I saw my newer ones, the difference is so profound. It really helped me to see how far I’ve come.
3/20 255.2 Early weigh in, Japanese take out, and a lack of sleep. On the plus side I got to the store early enough to get potatoes and chicken.
3/21 254.4 I’m glad to be back down I had a high sodium lunch, which sometimes gives me a bounce up. I also hit ovulation time according to my health app, so I’ll see if I hold or manage to drop. Sometimes if I’m really careful I can still see a drop or two, but usually I hold or bounce around.
3/22 254.0 New low, yay! It’s been a bit since I’ve been able to say that and I’m so glad that I didn’t give in to the want to eat yesterday.
3/23 253.4 Yay for the continuing downward trend. I wanted to eat to eat again yesterday and I finally had a couple of spoonfuls of ice cream and a small amount of chocolate milk. I didn’t binge though and thankfully it helped a lot. I’m really proud of myself for sticking to just a couple of bites nd not letting it spiral out of control.
3/24 252.4 I don’t know what brought about this big drop, but I hope the downward trend continues and I don’t bounce back up some.

@quiltingjaine, Your bread looks good to me! Nicely browned and crusty. Yum. I have my butter ready😀
I'll be making choc chips muffins today for my littles. They're excited. My granddaughter video called me this morning to read a book to me.😄
I needed chocolate chips so went a hunting for them. Found at Safeway. Mmmm, Safeway put a pattern on the floor for customers to keep a 6ft distance. 😟 I didn't notice it. I saw a sign on the door as I was leaving. Cheapest gas seen today, Crown, Ingleside $1.75 regular keeps dropping. Sounds great, but not. That's my daily run news.
186.6 today. Eat one biscuit, okay. Eat 2 biscuits, NOT.5 -
Hi, I’m Karen and I’m in my 50’s

SW-160
3/19-160-It’s wonderful to have ALL of you here!☕️🌷
3/20-159-Whew! Only 1/2 of the walk and ate a slice of bread and butter-treat! Big walk today and lots of sewing/quilt at home.
3/21-158-Well, it’s easier without having social eating events to go to. I’ll just keep on sewing and walking.
3/22-158-Walk and sew today.
3/23-158-Expected a higher weight since I made hearty turkey soup with pearl barley. More walking and quilting!
3/24-157-Yipeee!!! Walk & Sew, Walk & Sew!!!!8 -
Round 108 - March 18 to 28
Female, 5’, 67 years. SW – 163.8, GW – 164 something, UGW – 140.
Goals: continue with 12 hr. IF, see if I can complete my tracking every day and get focussed exercise most days – either gym exercises I can do at home, other (like fitness video). Don’t expect to go to the gym for 2 months and then my membership will be almost finished. We do have a treadmill that my husband uses so I guess I could get used to using that.
Day/Weight/Comment
03/18 – 163.8 – sick with the regular flu
03/19 – 161.8 – Threw up and then hardly ate yesterday, so it is a false low – but still lovely to see that #. Feeling much better today.
03/20 – 164.2 – Back to normal.
03/21 – 165 – Feeling pretty much recovered and it looks like my weight has too, lol. I did give in to snacking on graham crackers late last night, so if I stick with IF today maybe it will drop to 164’s. Have been getting more phone calls, texts than usual from extended family all checking up on each other. That with the online news has really put a dint in my organization and days. Today making a list and getting some fresh air and exercise time. Weather here is very early spring – rhubarb just emerging. I’m toying with the idea of starting some plants inside for later transplanting. I haven’t done that in years but still have the light setup and it’s so much fun to see all the stuff germinate plus no idea if greenhouses will be open.
03/22 – 164.2 – Don’t feel like I deserve this as I snacked on cashews last night. Oh well, a better day today. Another beautiful day and typical for us this time of year – under the trees on the sunny side of the yard things are turning green and the rest has 2+ feet of snow. Good thing I see the sunny side from the diningroom.
03/23 – 163.8 – Nice to see this and hope I can keep going down. Tracked all and IF - 12 hrs. Feeling pretty good though still some coughing and sneezing – ack, was hoping to do a quick final run to the groc. store but I guess not today.
03/24 – 163.4 – Tracked and IF. Hung sheets on the line and did a little bit outside. Love the fresh air but have to make myself get out there. I’m 2/3 done, and can hardly wait to finish, a bigger cross-stitch project and it’s really helping with the snacking because I have to keep my hands very clean. So much better than surfing the news in the evening.

DAY / WEIGHT / COMMENT
03.18 / 93.6kg / We're on lockdown, advised to stay at home, social businesses are closed, social gatherings are discouraged, so we get no visitors, mostly because me and my kids are all sick (regular seasonal flu). Older one is 3 and a half, younger is a year and two months old, and staying at home all day alone with a huge list of treatments for all three of us has been stressful, trying to be on top of everything for them has left me slide back into emotional eating. We don't keep junk food at home so at least it's nothing like that, but it's noon and I've already shot my calories for the day, and I'm afraid if I slip back into this without hitting the breaks somehow I'll lose the progress from the past month. So I'm happy to have found the challenge and I think having to add those comments will help as well to process things.
03.19 / 95.2kg (+1.6)/ A bit after midnight but still not in bed so it's still today for me 😅 I expected the weight to be up after yesterday but not as much, that kind of shocked me. I just have to keep reminding myself it will go down again in a couple of days so I don't fall into self-hatred. I always fluctuate by a lot, and I have always thought before I started weighing in daily those would probably be around a kilo top, but it's often two or three and it's shocking every time. Having a separate app that shows me a trend helps with reminding myself this is not real weight put on, it's just the result of a bad bad day. I use Libra to add those since it feels crappy to add them here even though mfp prompts for daily weigh-ins. I hate seeing an update on my feed that every few days I lose the same 0.5 kilos, so I just add when I've lost from my previous lowest. My calories for the day ended at being 1804, and with my tdee being around 2020-2300 I'm still happy with that. I usually aim for less but it's an improvement over yesterday and still keeps me on track. I've been able to be very strict until noon this time, had lunch and all that but I made something sweet for the kids and ended up getting way too much of that for myself as well. Without it it would have been a perfect day. Need to start preparing myself something to snack before I start making those cause otherwise I think I'll always be caving in, and I don't want to deprive them of having it at home just because their mom can't control herself. It's weird how easy it is to know how much they can have and follow it strictly cause I don't want them to be hurt by it as I am, and at the same time not be able to apply it when it comes to myself. I'm working late again and didn't snack after dinner however so I'm happy with that.
03.20 / 94.3kg (-0.9) I fell asleep with the kids It was overall a good day, again around 1800 since I went to see how my mom is and she had sweets. This time it wasn't an accident though, I checked the labels, made sure I eat exactly as much as I should based on that. Seeing the scale turning back around that quickly in the morning defintely calmed my nerves.
03.21 / 93.7kg (-0.6) Yaay, back where I started! Feels a bit like I've wasted a couple of days from the challenge, but that 92 goal is starting to seem achievable again. Oats for breakfast, small lunch, few snacks, and a small dinner. Drank some calories which I shouldn't have, but I kicked chores in the butt, have been up almost the entire day cleaning something. Ended up the day at 1474, which is right up where I want it to be. Keeping myself occupied has helped a lot, plus I sort of skipped dinner today since we had electricity issues and couldn't cook anything and there was enough left from the last meal just for the kids, so I had a bite of cheese, had my vitamin C drink thing, and left it at that. The funny part is I'm not even hungry and I'm not sure if my stomach is finally getting used to needing less or my brain being hyped about keeping up with the challenge. Either way I'll take it.
03.22 / 93.3kg (-0.4) Finally a loss since the start of the challenge! I have no idea how many calories I've had today, we celebrated the fact our baby started walking with a ritual bread, and that's home made and it's way too tedious to track it since not all brands I use exist in the database. But I again skipped dinner, haven't snacked, that thing has been really filling. Just had a glass of juice in the evening. Will see how things go with the scale in the morning, but I feel satisfied and zero hunger is around, so I call that a sort-of-a-win. It kind of sucked to celebrate something like that locked at home though, it's going to suck even more for Easter, so I'll be keeping my hands occupied with preparing stuff for then so at least the kids feel like it's fun.
03.23 / Did not track
03.24 / Did not track. Had a big health scare, have been around hospitals both days, ate whatever I could on the go, went into emotional eating again out of fear. Picking myself back up again, this doesn't solve the issue.

We used to walk 5 miles a day. A pinched nerve and back surgery side-lined me for about a year. Then I had back surgery. Then I had hip surgery March 10th. Recovery is slow. Sure do want to be back walking!

03/24 - 147.3 - I am all over the place. Body is sore in almost every way. I'm exhausted (despite getting 10+ hours of sleep the last 2 nights) and just now settling in. I start my new job tomorrow. I'm hoping that it's just tomorrow and Thursday, off Friday (since engineers work 4-10s with every Friday off) so I can continue settling in and getting my life together. Finally got some water in as I found my water bottles (tap water tastes nasty -- there's a refill station just a block away from the house, but I have yet to get that done for BF and I. He ran out while kids were here). Haven't had a chance to read through posts yet so I hope everyone is doing well despite the virus madness! Hoping I can get back on a schedule with y'all by next round, but we shall see. Going to try to post when I can, but I'll be weighing and updating my Libra app daily (so long as I don't end up running late while I learn traffic and commute times)

Previous Day's Comments03/18 - I honestly forgot about it. I have an ick "head cold" (not the virus, its from the sudden change with allergies to/from TX). Just a slightly stuffy nose and some mucus that's drained to my throat. Woke up with cotton mouth and chugged water before I ever even got out of bed. Forgot I was going to weigh in today until I got out of bed a few minutes later. Oops! I think I know where my claritin is and I'm going in search of it through the packing madness in my house. Definitely need to focus on my water, I'm so dehydrated. My skin and body are showing it (like giving myself a bloody lip this AM when it cracked from dryness). I'm sure it'll also help with hunger as yesterday I could NOT be satisfied. I'd eat and still be hungry. It was madness. Today should be better, especially with water. Going to make some tea, as well, for caffeine since I already packed and moved my coffee pot. Body slowly adjusting to less and less caffeine throughout this, at least. I will weigh in 2 more days and then hopefully have a chance next week sometime once I start unpacking. I'd like to see some progress during this round, but only time will tell...
03/19 - I was afraid of this... So many carbs and a lot of mindless eating (including ice cream which bloats me like no other) and barely any water. Last day of work, they're taking me to lunch then I turn in my stuff. Still can't find my office keys. I swear they're in my office but I don't remember where and today is my only opportunity to look. Oh well. BF wants to pack the Uhaul Saturday morning and take off right after. Going to be a long day (even longer for him since he drives in Friday evening, that's a quick turnaround). Lots of stress. Lots of cleaning to do today. Taking the last of the packed items down so I can clean. I'm not looking forward to the cleaning of my kitchen. Really not that bad, just hate it.

03/23 - We left early due to the virus issues. Packed uhaul Friday night and left at 4am Saturday. Unpacked house today and got vehicles registered (they're due in Kansas in April). Drivers license office closed but my license is good to 2024 anyway. It's been craaaaazy. But I love it so much already. Moved my start date up to Wednesday instead of Monday to try to beat some of the madness and get me in their system to start working (utilities, I'm essential).

Day | Weight | Change | Comment
03/18 | 132.6kg | No change | Busy day at work and had visitors all evening/night. My mum came in to town ready to babysit my son today, so I picked my sister up on my way home from work and brought her to my place as well so we could all catch up. Later, my dad also decided to come into town but he didn't arrive until about 9:30pm. So it was a late dinner and a few beers, I was expecting a rise on the scale. On the bright side, I didn't snack after work and I didn't have dessert. Got all my water in, but no exercise. Hubby out of town for a day trip today, will see how shopping goes - we normally do an online order that he can just pick up, but they have cancelled that service at the moment so that is frustrating. Stay safe, everyone!
03/19 | 132.7kg | +0.1kg | Made homemade pizzas on wrap bases last night, they were delicious and much lighter than the normal dough bases I make, but I think my sodium was very high as a result (perhaps I should choose a more healthy topping than pepperoni...). Only drank 2L of water too so that also wouldn't help. No exercise as I'm still trying to shake this cold off. Our supermarket shelves were bare when I went yesterday afternoon - no TP, soaps, potatoes, bread, pasta, rice, tissues, canned vegetables, flour, ready-to-make packet meals, cheese, milk...nothing. This was Wednesday afternoon. Our store gets one delivery a week, on Tuesdays. So I don't expect to find anything on the shelves for the next week, which is ridiculous. What's happening, as the cities stock out, people are coming further and further out into the rural areas to wipe our shelves clean too. Their stores get deliveries daily, but they can't wait that long. I don't know what I'm going to feed my one year old toddler by the end of the week, unless they happen to get another delivery in (which they have to pay the freight for, so they won't do that as they don't make enough profit to cover it). I really don't understand how people can be so selfish. It's not a production issue, there is plenty of product available, it's just distribution is the issue - they can't keep the deliveries up to the stores because the demand is increasing exponentially! People are literally panicking over nothing. They're panicking because the media is telling them to. I wish the media would just stop covering all of this and just report the statistics and whereabouts of the virus, nothing more. It's so stupid, people being worried that something is going to stock out, so they buy as much as they can, causing it to stock out. If everyone just stuck to their normal buying, it wouldn't even be an issue but no, people are selfish and greedy.
Sorry for the rant, I'm just extremely frustrated with people.
03/20 | 133.1kg | +0.4kg | Wrong direction! It's just water weight, obviously, but I'm not sure what's caused it. Maybe sodium. I didn't drink enough water the last couple of days too. Feeling anxious and sad, and that leads to poor decisions for me usually. Hubby bought a lasagne for dinner last night, normally we would split it and eat half each, but I did split my share in half and ate it with a salad (bringing the leftovers for my lunch today with a salad). So that's another small win in the 'smaller portions' dinner plan.
03/21 | 133.3kg | +0.2kg
03/22 | 133.5kg | +0.2kg
03/23 | 133.5kg | No change | Sorry, I have been a bit AWOL this weekend. I just didn't get online to MFP at all, but I did keep weighing in. Weight still rising, which I know is from poor choices and overeating and anxiety and lack of sleep and no exercise whatsoever. I've gone off the rails with everything happening. I'm in Australia, and our state is just starting to close "non-essential" services as of today (so pubs, restaurants, clubs etc. - basically anywhere that people gather together because people have been ignoring the "social distancing" recommendations and have been packing into clubs and onto beaches). I'm not sure what this means for my work situation as I should be able to work from home, but it's all up in the air at the moment!
03/24 | 133.3kg | -0.2kg | Dropped some/all of the excess water weight so that's good. Still feeling extremely anxious, but went to bed at a good time last night and managed to get a good sleep which I think makes a huge difference. Still fighting this cold that doesn't seem to want to go away, will be interesting to see if I'm sent home from work or not. The policy is supposed to be to stay home if any symptoms, but last week I was told it was up to me. I asked my boss about working from home, he said it didn't sound promising but he'd ask. I'm waiting to hear back from him, but I'm really hoping it's a yes!
03/15 | 133.0kg | -0.3kg | That's looking better. I have been better about my snacking, but not getting as much water in with the cooler weather here. On the bright side, I've been approved to work from home, though I'm not sure when it's starting and to start with it's "on a short term basis to be reviewed" - which I take to mean they don't trust that I will actually do the work from home. Nice to know I'm so trusted after working here for 8 years!

03/18 - 164.7 I'm really losing track of my goals. I haven't worked out in 9 days and I completely binged out on snacks yesterday. I'm definitely in a downward spiral. I usually track my weeks from Sunday through Saturday which means I'd keep on this path and start fresh on Sunday. That's too long. I am starting fresh today. I can do this. Please help hold me accountable!
03/19 - 164.9 Wrong direction. I did get a workout in and stayed relatively close to my calorie goal. Going to workout today and stay under my calorie goal!
03/20 - 164.9 Well I got a workout in however I went WAY over my calorie goal. On the bright side, I ate all the snacks in my house so I have no more temptations. As long as I break even this round I'll be happy.
03/21 - 164.0 Getting close to breaking even! My SO offered to go get me my fav snacks while practicing social distancing and renting and watching The Invisible Man at home. Guess what, I said no! I would not have been able to use portion control and it was past my eating period.
03/22 - 163.1 FINALLY back on track towards my goals!
03/23 - 162.3 Very proud. Trying to stay positive through this Pandemic.
03/24 - 161.4 Wow ... I remember just a couple months ago inching towards the 160's. Can't believe I'll reach the 150's soon!

Looking forward:
- March: I need to focus on getting back to where I was pre-Christmas
- 2020: Goal is to stabilise weight around 145
- Strengthen strategies to reframe the tendency to use unhealthy snack food as a reward/treat.
- Make sure I have prepared healthy snacks available
- Cut down on eating between meals
Back Story:2018:2020
My goal was to get down below 160, to allow me to enjoy the indulgences of holidays and celebrations.
2019:
I exceeded that and have been below 150 for most of the last 2 months.
In 2018, I put on 10 lbs over the last 2 months of the year.
In 2019, I consistently lost weight since the end of July. I put on about 4lbs over the Christmas break, but was still below my original 2019 goal.
That's a WIN in my book!
Focus: maintenance! I might even manage to lose a bit more ever so slowly.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

Update in Michigan: We are in a mandated stay-inside until April 14th (at least). It is not that the governor hope there will be a vaccination or cure by then, only that we may have enough medical supplies to take care of the anticipated sick, especially what they are forecasting they will need in the hospital setting such as respirators, masks, swabs. That whole thought is scary. Our local grocery store truck came in today so I ventured out (afraid of getting pulled over the entire time) to get necessary grocery items for both my DD's, Grandkids, brother, maintenance man and dear friend of our family. Made the deliveries, picked up some plumbing parts for a cabin and headed back home.
I was informed after my call to the Governors office yesterday that my motel & cabins are considered essential so they can stay open and act as support for essential business still running (construction crews etc).
Still no toilet paper, but I finally got a loaf of bread, and a pack each of the hamburger and hot dog buns for myself and DD's. Stay clean & well everyone. My prayers are with you all.10 -
JGMTD Round 108 (30 for me)
Sorry for disappearing last round. There were so many changes to adjust to, and I never seemed to be able to get a post together. I went from being busy packing for a trip to see my son to being even busier cancelling travel arrangements, gearing up for teaching all of my courses online, picking up a few supplies, checking in with family, and keeping up with daily developments. More recently, I’ve been self-isolating (except for solitary walks outdoors), teaching online, and figuring this new reality one day at a time.

Day/Weight/Comment
03/18 – 165.8 – Starting this round in a good place. Although I didn’t post last round, I managed weigh in and meet my calorie and exercise goals most days. Today was a pretty good day, despite the grim news reports and increasing restrictions. My online class went pretty well and I met my goals. I’m finding stability in the habits I’ve developed and serenity in my outdoor walks.
03/19 – 164.6 – After a rainy start to the day, the weather cleared and I got out for a walk again, tackling a more rugged trail to get my heart rate up. I’m glad the parks are still open, although I don’t know how long that will last. Got a few chores done, but much of the day was spent addressing online teaching issues and providing long-distance support for stressed family members. My sleep schedule is totally shot, but I’ve been pushing myself to fix simple, reasonably healthy meals and to stay hydrated. Glad to have the structure of these challenges to help me stay grounded.
03/20 – 164.6 – Unseasonably warm, but such a delight to get out in short sleeves and enjoy the weather. I skipped most of the chores and took the dog for a long walk in the park. Did well on calories but a little under on hydration.
03/21 – 163.4 – Slept in and slightly dehydrated, so I think this number is misleading. Managed a short, chilly walk in the park with my husband and just squeaked in under my calorie limit. Didn’t get much work done today. I had a nice, long phone conversation with my son and saw my daughter briefly, although at a 6+ foot distance, since I’m the support person for my mom. Things are ramping up very fast in NJ. Today we got our “stay at home” order, with most non-essential businesses closed and all gatherings banned. Fortunately, the parks are still open.
03/22 – 164.4 – Rain all day, so no walk. I was up early, so I managed to book a grocery delivery and ordered a few fresh items. Met my calorie and hydration goals but didn’t get much done. I haven’t been particularly hungry or motivated lately – guess I shouldn’t be surprised with all that’s going on. Looking forward to some sun and warmer temperatures tomorrow.
03/23 – 164.4 – It felt great to get out in the sun today. After a busy morning teaching my online classes, I took a long walk with the dog, heading to the park and following a meandering stream-side trail. Not the most rigorous workout, but the serenity was just what I needed. Met my hydration and calorie goals, but paid more attention to my macros when fixing meals today. Did a bit of meal prep for the rest of the week as well, so overall, a pretty good day.
