Starting super late for this round, but I have to get on it. Stupid Coronavirus!
Female, 50, 5'2"
Haven't weighed for a month--serious error in judgment.
2/25: 134
3/24: 139.2 (+5.2 lbs)
OMG. Well . . . I ran a lot less and I ate a lot more. Mostly I ate a whole lot of bread, and I rarely do that. Basically two loaves of sourdough in the past week. Plus I ate a bunch of birthday cake for my end-of-the-world 50th (on the 12th) . . . for days and days after my birthday.
I'm on it. This is not okay.
@vickro Welcome to the group, we are so glad to have you!!!! It sounds like you enjoyed your birthday. Happy 50th.

03/22 …..202.0 ….. Prep cooked yesterday so dinners are under control for the most part. Low supplies are making the sides difficult. Now, I just have to watch any other meals and snacks. I am hoping that today will be even better than yesterday. On the home front, today I have to get out there and clean 5 cabins and I am a nervous wreck about the possible germs. Of course, I will take every precaution but still……..I have found that neighbors and townsfolk are starting to call and ask if I have gloves, bleach, Lysol, toilet paper etc. that they can buy off me or that I can share with their family. They expect I will have those products in a motel situation, honestly, people are thinking of anything they can to keep themselves safe. I wish I could share with everyone but my suppliers have dried up so I have to be cautious. I am trying to help/share with my adult kids / family and closest friends. However, if I run out of supplies I have to close my business. And, I have to remain diligent in protecting the public when they come to my place of business. Business and revenue has slowed for sure, but is still going on. What a sad state our world is in right now. I know other countries and other US states are faring much worse than northern Michigan. Prayers to you all. Our best defense is staying as healthy as we can. Today I will try to find the time for some additional indoor movement.
03/23 …..201.7 ….. a bit better.
03/24 …..201.6 …..
03/25 …..201.6 ….. Supply truck arrived at our grocery store. Still no TP, yeast to bake bread etc. but some things were restocked in very small quantity. I spent my day shopping (which is allowed during the mandated stay-in in Michigan). I delivered to all my children and closest friends so more people could stay in. I had to go out for repair parts anyway so this was the safest bet for everyone. I am back inside today. I may go out to rake my motel parking lot a bit as exercise (exercise allowed outside during mandate) and try to keep things looking okay. I’ll be raking around snowpiles, but it is supposed to be warmer today so I want to take advantage of it. I see that our group are real troopers in light of this virus. I am so proud of you all for your efforts to continue on the best journey possible during this pandemic. {{hugs}} to you all!

Round 108 - March 18 to 28
Female, 5’, 67 years. SW – 163.8, GW – 164 something, UGW – 140.
Goals: continue with 12 hr. IF, see if I can complete my tracking every day and get focussed exercise most days – either gym exercises I can do at home, other (like fitness video). Don’t expect to go to the gym for 2 months and then my membership will be almost finished. We do have a treadmill that my husband uses so I guess I could get used to using that.
Day/Weight/Comment
03/18 – 163.8 – sick with the regular flu
03/19 – 161.8 – Threw up and then hardly ate yesterday, so it is a false low – but still lovely to see that #. Feeling much better today.
03/20 – 164.2 – Back to normal.
03/21 – 165 – Feeling pretty much recovered and it looks like my weight has too, lol. I did give in to snacking on graham crackers late last night, so if I stick with IF today maybe it will drop to 164’s. Have been getting more phone calls, texts than usual from extended family all checking up on each other. That with the online news has really put a dint in my organization and days. Today making a list and getting some fresh air and exercise time. Weather here is very early spring – rhubarb just emerging. I’m toying with the idea of starting some plants inside for later transplanting. I haven’t done that in years but still have the light setup and it’s so much fun to see all the stuff germinate plus no idea if greenhouses will be open.
03/22 – 164.2 – Don’t feel like I deserve this as I snacked on cashews last night. Oh well, a better day today. Another beautiful day and typical for us this time of year – under the trees on the sunny side of the yard things are turning green and the rest has 2+ feet of snow. Good thing I see the sunny side from the diningroom.
03/23 – 163.8 – Nice to see this and hope I can keep going down. Tracked all and IF - 12 hrs. Feeling pretty good though still some coughing and sneezing – ack, was hoping to do a quick final run to the groc. store but I guess not today.
03/24 – 163.4 – Tracked and IF. Hung sheets on the line and did a little bit outside. Love the fresh air but have to make myself get out there. I’m 2/3 done, and can hardly wait to finish, a bigger cross-stitch project and it’s really helping with the snacking because I have to keep my hands very clean. So much better than surfing the news in the evening.
03/25 – 163.8 – IF -12 or more, didn’t finish tracking but stayed quite low. DH went to the groc. store during the seniors’ time this a.m. to pick up milk and a few other things because I am still coughing. Feeling very thankful to be alive and ok, in my own home, and spring coming outside.

Re: covid-19 vaccine. I know there is a lot of talk about finding a vaccine but the info. given at work to my daughter (a paramedic in AB) was that the virus has already mutated. In other words, it will be like the flu; not a surefire or lasting thing when they do get one.
The other side of this is that humanity has its own way of dealing with this: once the virus passes through enough of the population many people will have immunity and there will simply not be enough carriers to keep it wildly spreading.
Another interesting note - in all the thousands of deaths in Italy, there were 0 under 30. This is why people are now looking to find a way to protect the vulnerable while getting the younger people back to work.6 -
Another interesting note - in all the thousands of deaths in Italy, there were 0 under 30. This is why people are now looking to find a way to protect the vulnerable while getting the younger people back to work.
Editing to make sure I say that I'm not saying @wellnfree is not aware of this and I know he/she was stating something positive.
@wellnfree It's true about the death % being greater for those over 65, but not about the affect it is having on younger people from being hospitalized in critical condition, to lasting lung damage. I feel that the focus on % of deaths (not critical conditions/hospitalizations) and the early-on information about "just the elderly" makes everyone think it's just those that are older that can be adversely affected.
Article:
But as the pandemic ratchets up, with 417,000 cases and counting worldwide as of Tuesday, it’s increasingly clear that the coronavirus is severely harming substantial numbers of people under 50.
In New York City, health officials said Friday that of 1,160 people hospitalized with COVID-19 symptoms, one in four were between ages 18 and 49. That squares with what appears to be happening nationwide: Across the United States, about 38% of coronavirus patients sick enough to be hospitalized were ages 20 to 54, the CDC reported last week.
Young people outside the US have also been severely affected. In Spain, about 18% of hospitalized patients are under 50, according to the latest data. And in South Korea, more than half of confirmed cases are under 50, with the ages 20–29 being the largest age group. (The government doesn’t break down how many of those cases required hospitalization.) Anecdotal data out of the UK, where demographic data on patient ages has yet to be released by the government, also suggests that young people have needed intensive care in hospitals.

I' m in! Thank you, @GrandmaJackie!
69 years old female...5'5" ...I used to be 5'7" but arthritis hit and I lost two inches, so now that two inches is squished around my waist like the billows of a big accordion... ...Oh, well. I'll just keep working on it.
We used to walk 5 miles a day. A pinched nerve and back surgery side-lined me for about a year. Then I had back surgery. Then I had hip surgery March 10th. Recovery is slow. Sure do want to be back walking!
The Shelter in Place has everyone freaked. We need to remain calm and respectful of each other.

3/22: 140.4 (+.6) Peloton is here….fun so far. Eating comfort food while comforting is not the best for weight watching. Found out this morning that my 24 year old son in NYC is showing symptoms of a virus – assuming Covid 19 but he will not go to doctor because they said per the website not to bother unless you were in bad shape. No testing available either. He will just have to deal….sent him some stuff yesterday so hopefully he stays mild and can rest and stay in for a week and be over it.😑
3/23: 139.2 (-1.2) Ate a pretty unhealthy lunch but a really healthy vegetarian dinner. Drank some wine. No idea why I am up and down a lot other than stress. Life is unreal these days so not going to attempt to be able to understand it. It’s going to be a long week. 😒
3/24:138.0 (-1.2) No idea….did eat under and did a very short ride. I think the veggies helped my system reset. Need to do that more! Was able to find a thermometer and fed ex to my son. I hope he is ok. 😯
3/25: 139.2 (+1.2) This scale is acting wonky but I did have a very salty fajita meal and a couple of cocktails while doing a zoom bookclub . Who knows. Social isolation messes with the mind and the scale. The good news? Talked to my son today. He sounded a bit better!🥰
@bearly63 So glad your son sounded a bit better! Hopefully he'll continue to get better each day

DAY / WEIGHT / COMMENT
03.18 / 93.6kg / We're on lockdown, advised to stay at home, social businesses are closed, social gatherings are discouraged, so we get no visitors, mostly because me and my kids are all sick (regular seasonal flu). Older one is 3 and a half, younger is a year and two months old, and staying at home all day alone with a huge list of treatments for all three of us has been stressful, trying to be on top of everything for them has left me slide back into emotional eating. We don't keep junk food at home so at least it's nothing like that, but it's noon and I've already shot my calories for the day, and I'm afraid if I slip back into this without hitting the breaks somehow I'll lose the progress from the past month. So I'm happy to have found the challenge and I think having to add those comments will help as well to process things.
03.19 / 95.2kg (+1.6)/ A bit after midnight but still not in bed so it's still today for me 😅 I expected the weight to be up after yesterday but not as much, that kind of shocked me. I just have to keep reminding myself it will go down again in a couple of days so I don't fall into self-hatred. I always fluctuate by a lot, and I have always thought before I started weighing in daily those would probably be around a kilo top, but it's often two or three and it's shocking every time. Having a separate app that shows me a trend helps with reminding myself this is not real weight put on, it's just the result of a bad bad day. I use Libra to add those since it feels crappy to add them here even though mfp prompts for daily weigh-ins. I hate seeing an update on my feed that every few days I lose the same 0.5 kilos, so I just add when I've lost from my previous lowest. My calories for the day ended at being 1804, and with my tdee being around 2020-2300 I'm still happy with that. I usually aim for less but it's an improvement over yesterday and still keeps me on track. I've been able to be very strict until noon this time, had lunch and all that but I made something sweet for the kids and ended up getting way too much of that for myself as well. Without it it would have been a perfect day. Need to start preparing myself something to snack before I start making those cause otherwise I think I'll always be caving in, and I don't want to deprive them of having it at home just because their mom can't control herself. It's weird how easy it is to know how much they can have and follow it strictly cause I don't want them to be hurt by it as I am, and at the same time not be able to apply it when it comes to myself. I'm working late again and didn't snack after dinner however so I'm happy with that.
03.20 / 94.3kg (-0.9) I fell asleep with the kids It was overall a good day, again around 1800 since I went to see how my mom is and she had sweets. This time it wasn't an accident though, I checked the labels, made sure I eat exactly as much as I should based on that. Seeing the scale turning back around that quickly in the morning defintely calmed my nerves.
03.21 / 93.7kg (-0.6) Yaay, back where I started! Feels a bit like I've wasted a couple of days from the challenge, but that 92 goal is starting to seem achievable again. Oats for breakfast, small lunch, few snacks, and a small dinner. Drank some calories which I shouldn't have, but I kicked chores in the butt, have been up almost the entire day cleaning something. Ended up the day at 1474, which is right up where I want it to be. Keeping myself occupied has helped a lot, plus I sort of skipped dinner today since we had electricity issues and couldn't cook anything and there was enough left from the last meal just for the kids, so I had a bite of cheese, had my vitamin C drink thing, and left it at that. The funny part is I'm not even hungry and I'm not sure if my stomach is finally getting used to needing less or my brain being hyped about keeping up with the challenge. Either way I'll take it.
03.22 / 93.3kg (-0.4) Finally a loss since the start of the challenge! I have no idea how many calories I've had today, we celebrated the fact our baby started walking with a ritual bread, and that's home made and it's way too tedious to track it since not all brands I use exist in the database. But I again skipped dinner, haven't snacked, that thing has been really filling. Just had a glass of juice in the evening. Will see how things go with the scale in the morning, but I feel satisfied and zero hunger is around, so I call that a sort-of-a-win. It kind of sucked to celebrate something like that locked at home though, it's going to suck even more for Easter, so I'll be keeping my hands occupied with preparing stuff for then so at least the kids feel like it's fun.
03.23 / Did not track
03.24 / Did not track. Had a big health scare, have been around hospitals both days, ate whatever I could on the go, went into emotional eating again out of fear. Picking myself back up again, this doesn't solve the issue.
03.15 / No weigh in Did not weigh in in the morning. I will not let stress cause me to overeat and if I have to skip one more day to avoid it I will. Ended the day at 1541, with a lot of chores at home to burn as much as I can, since I am not allowed to exercise for at least a week. The ten days are almost over, I know I'm not going to reach the goal I set at the beginning, hopefully I'll at least be less than what I started.

R108 SW 132.6kg
Day | Weight | Change | Comment
03/18 | 132.6kg | No change | Busy day at work and had visitors all evening/night. My mum came in to town ready to babysit my son today, so I picked my sister up on my way home from work and brought her to my place as well so we could all catch up. Later, my dad also decided to come into town but he didn't arrive until about 9:30pm. So it was a late dinner and a few beers, I was expecting a rise on the scale. On the bright side, I didn't snack after work and I didn't have dessert. Got all my water in, but no exercise. Hubby out of town for a day trip today, will see how shopping goes - we normally do an online order that he can just pick up, but they have cancelled that service at the moment so that is frustrating. Stay safe, everyone!
03/19 | 132.7kg | +0.1kg | Made homemade pizzas on wrap bases last night, they were delicious and much lighter than the normal dough bases I make, but I think my sodium was very high as a result (perhaps I should choose a more healthy topping than pepperoni...). Only drank 2L of water too so that also wouldn't help. No exercise as I'm still trying to shake this cold off. Our supermarket shelves were bare when I went yesterday afternoon - no TP, soaps, potatoes, bread, pasta, rice, tissues, canned vegetables, flour, ready-to-make packet meals, cheese, milk...nothing. This was Wednesday afternoon. Our store gets one delivery a week, on Tuesdays. So I don't expect to find anything on the shelves for the next week, which is ridiculous. What's happening, as the cities stock out, people are coming further and further out into the rural areas to wipe our shelves clean too. Their stores get deliveries daily, but they can't wait that long. I don't know what I'm going to feed my one year old toddler by the end of the week, unless they happen to get another delivery in (which they have to pay the freight for, so they won't do that as they don't make enough profit to cover it). I really don't understand how people can be so selfish. It's not a production issue, there is plenty of product available, it's just distribution is the issue - they can't keep the deliveries up to the stores because the demand is increasing exponentially! People are literally panicking over nothing. They're panicking because the media is telling them to. I wish the media would just stop covering all of this and just report the statistics and whereabouts of the virus, nothing more. It's so stupid, people being worried that something is going to stock out, so they buy as much as they can, causing it to stock out. If everyone just stuck to their normal buying, it wouldn't even be an issue but no, people are selfish and greedy.
Sorry for the rant, I'm just extremely frustrated with people.
03/20 | 133.1kg | +0.4kg | Wrong direction! It's just water weight, obviously, but I'm not sure what's caused it. Maybe sodium. I didn't drink enough water the last couple of days too. Feeling anxious and sad, and that leads to poor decisions for me usually. Hubby bought a lasagne for dinner last night, normally we would split it and eat half each, but I did split my share in half and ate it with a salad (bringing the leftovers for my lunch today with a salad). So that's another small win in the 'smaller portions' dinner plan.
03/21 | 133.3kg | +0.2kg
03/22 | 133.5kg | +0.2kg
03/23 | 133.5kg | No change | Sorry, I have been a bit AWOL this weekend. I just didn't get online to MFP at all, but I did keep weighing in. Weight still rising, which I know is from poor choices and overeating and anxiety and lack of sleep and no exercise whatsoever. I've gone off the rails with everything happening. I'm in Australia, and our state is just starting to close "non-essential" services as of today (so pubs, restaurants, clubs etc. - basically anywhere that people gather together because people have been ignoring the "social distancing" recommendations and have been packing into clubs and onto beaches). I'm not sure what this means for my work situation as I should be able to work from home, but it's all up in the air at the moment!
03/24 | 133.3kg | -0.2kg | Dropped some/all of the excess water weight so that's good. Still feeling extremely anxious, but went to bed at a good time last night and managed to get a good sleep which I think makes a huge difference. Still fighting this cold that doesn't seem to want to go away, will be interesting to see if I'm sent home from work or not. The policy is supposed to be to stay home if any symptoms, but last week I was told it was up to me. I asked my boss about working from home, he said it didn't sound promising but he'd ask. I'm waiting to hear back from him, but I'm really hoping it's a yes!
03/15 | 133.0kg | -0.3kg | That's looking better. I have been better about my snacking, but not getting as much water in with the cooler weather here. On the bright side, I've been approved to work from home, though I'm not sure when it's starting and to start with it's "on a short term basis to be reviewed" - which I take to mean they don't trust that I will actually do the work from home. Nice to know I'm so trusted after working here for 8 years!
03/26 |132.8kg | -0.2kg | Keeping on keeping on! Still struggling with the last bit of this cold that I can't seem to budge. Today is my first day working from home, it's on a 14-day trial basis and then reassess. What I got from the conversation with my manager is that they don't want everyone doing it (even though the government has stated if you can work from home, you should) as they don't trust everyone! So I'm not to advertise the fact I'm working from home as then others will want to as well. It's a ridiculous excuse, if you can't trust your employees to do the work from home, then you should have other employees. It's not like they monitor what we do through the day on site, and simply being on site doesn't mean you're working! Oh well, at least I can be at home where it's safe and have less chance of bringing the virus here.

@CamandJarvis I suspect that all the stress from the move, the new job is causing the exhaustion. You may be sleeping plenty, but if it's not good sleep... Let's hope that now you are starting to settle in and starting the new job, everything will settle down. Add what's going on with world/coronavirus, like many of us, it feels overwhelming. The most important thing is to take care of yourself, your health.7

Hello everyone, 😊
If I've posted twice today forgive me because I simply can't find it. Like a knuckle head, I have often hit done instead of post reply. Today feels like a knuckle head day.
I've found my way back. It's been ages since I was last online. With so much happening to us all right now I won't burden you with my trifling inconveniences. There are too many real problems out there for me to complain about anything.
"No mercy and no excuses" I quote an old online friend of mine. I managed to keep the fat off about ten years but in the past year I've managed to hit a ten year high. No way am I going to turn this weight loss surgery success story into a failure story.
The round is nearly over but I'm re-committing to my partial daily fast. No solids from midnight to 4pm at the earliest and one small snack plus one full meal daily. It has been working for me.

Looking forward:
- March: I need to focus on getting back to where I was pre-Christmas
- 2020: Goal is to stabilise weight around 145
- Strengthen strategies to reframe the tendency to use unhealthy snack food as a reward/treat.
- Make sure I have prepared healthy snacks available
- Cut down on eating between meals
Back Story:2018:2020
My goal was to get down below 160, to allow me to enjoy the indulgences of holidays and celebrations.
2019:
I exceeded that and have been below 150 for most of the last 2 months.
In 2018, I put on 10 lbs over the last 2 months of the year.
In 2019, I consistently lost weight since the end of July. I put on about 4lbs over the Christmas break, but was still below my original 2019 goal.
That's a WIN in my book!
Focus: maintenance! I might even manage to lose a bit more ever so slowly.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

JGMTD Round 108 (30 for me)
Sorry for disappearing last round. There were so many changes to adjust to, and I never seemed to be able to get a post together. I went from being busy packing for a trip to see my son to being even busier cancelling travel arrangements, gearing up for teaching all of my courses online, picking up a few supplies, checking in with family, and keeping up with daily developments. More recently, I’ve been self-isolating (except for solitary walks outdoors), teaching online, and figuring this new reality one day at a time.

Day/Weight/Comment
03/18 – 165.8 – Starting this round in a good place. Although I didn’t post last round, I managed weigh in and meet my calorie and exercise goals most days. Today was a pretty good day, despite the grim news reports and increasing restrictions. My online class went pretty well and I met my goals. I’m finding stability in the habits I’ve developed and serenity in my outdoor walks.
03/19 – 164.6 – After a rainy start to the day, the weather cleared and I got out for a walk again, tackling a more rugged trail to get my heart rate up. I’m glad the parks are still open, although I don’t know how long that will last. Got a few chores done, but much of the day was spent addressing online teaching issues and providing long-distance support for stressed family members. My sleep schedule is totally shot, but I’ve been pushing myself to fix simple, reasonably healthy meals and to stay hydrated. Glad to have the structure of these challenges to help me stay grounded.
03/20 – 164.6 – Unseasonably warm, but such a delight to get out in short sleeves and enjoy the weather. I skipped most of the chores and took the dog for a long walk in the park. Did well on calories but a little under on hydration.
03/21 – 163.4 – Slept in and slightly dehydrated, so I think this number is misleading. Managed a short, chilly walk in the park with my husband and just squeaked in under my calorie limit. Didn’t get much work done today. I had a nice, long phone conversation with my son and saw my daughter briefly, although at a 6+ foot distance, since I’m the support person for my mom. Things are ramping up very fast in NJ. Today we got our “stay at home” order, with most non-essential businesses closed and all gatherings banned. Fortunately, the parks are still open.
03/22 – 164.4 – Rain all day, so no walk. I was up early, so I managed to book a grocery delivery and ordered a few fresh items. Met my calorie and hydration goals but didn’t get much done. I haven’t been particularly hungry or motivated lately – guess I shouldn’t be surprised with all that’s going on. Looking forward to some sun and warmer temperatures tomorrow.
03/23 – 164.4 – It felt great to get out in the sun today. After a busy morning teaching my online classes, I took a long walk with the dog, heading to the park and following a meandering stream-side trail. Not the most rigorous workout, but the serenity was just what I needed. Met my hydration and calorie goals, but paid more attention to my macros when fixing meals today. Did a bit of meal prep for the rest of the week as well, so overall, a pretty good day.
03/24 -163.4 – Another busy, rainy day, so I didn’t get a walk in. But I stayed below my calorie limit and ate balanced meals today. I’ll be fixing some herb tea and catching up on Westworld tonight for a little dystopian escape.

Day/Weight/Comment
03/18 134.4 – 7.08 miles walked yesterday, met up with sisters for afternoon tea.
03/19 134.2 – rain all day yesterday meant only managed to walk 4.83 miles, kept eating well under control though so 218 calories in credit, but carbs over.
03/20 134.2 – 6.47 miles walked yesterday. C-19 ? Biggest problem here in my area of the UK is stupid people stockpiling, shelves are cleared of TP, nappies, long life milk, flour, pasta, rice, long life milk, frozen veggies, basically anything with a long shelf life!! WHY ?? If everyone just shops as normal there is plenty for everyone. Schools shut for everyone except children of key workers from end of today. All over 70's are self isolating for 12 weeks & all public gatherings have been stopped. I am standing by and prepared to help with fetching & carrying, walking dogs etc. for anyone self isolating – I've not been called on yet. I think it's the media's approach that is causing the panics, so there have been minimum deaths so far here, far less than from other ailments, so why stockpile? Luckily, we're not on lock down; if I couldn't get out and walk I would go crazy, I really hope it doesn't come to that!!! Stay calm everyone and shop as normal.
03/21 134.8 – 5.5 miles walked yesterday, spent majority of day at my elderly housebound & in early stages of dementia MIL's, took her some essential supplies to find her just sitting in her chair staring at a blank TV screen. “They've switched our electricity off, have they switched yours off?” She had not had a hot drink or eaten although she does have cold food available there. So after checking the neighbours was on, using their microwave to give her a hot meal and cup of tea, I started to try to get the power back on. Made some phone calls to power company and BIL & finally established that the cooker socket was tripping out the power. All this took time, but so glad to get everything back on. Gently chastised her to phone us if it happens again, but as she is stone deaf & has lost her hearing aids !!!!! She was due to be reassessed for new ones yesterday, but the home appointment was cancelled as she is in the very vulnerable group. She also will not accept any carers & lots of help of us her family too, she gets very annoyed at us thinking we are interfering and taking her independence away, thing is she is not capable of doing much anyway it's like walking on eggshells and very frustrating as we really want to help!
03/22 134.8 – 8.46 miles walked yesterday locally in lovely spring sunshine even if it was a little nippy! Happy Mother's day to all other mothers out there, stay safe and keep washing your hands. Meeting up with my DD, SIL & GSs at a park where we can safely meet up – at the required metre distance! It's our GS's 2nd birthday tomorrow. Our DS is in self isolation after siting next to a colleague at the start of last week with suspected but unconfirmed C-19, so only phone contact with him at the moment . Thankfully he's not showing any symptoms. Crazy crazy times.
03/23 134.8 – 7.3 miles walked. A totally different & bizarre Mother's day yesterday, DS 'phoned from his self isolation, met our DD & family outdoors in the spring sunshine, we each took a picnic; they sat on one bench, we sat on another!!
03/24 134 – 11.39 miles walked yesterday, 821 calories in credit and all other macros in green – a good day yesterday.:). So we in the UK are in lock down, luckily we are allowed to go out once a day to exercise, so I shall have to do my walking all in one go. I wanted to do my bit to help feed the nation and as I am fit & healthy, but not working, so at the weekend I put my name forward at our local supermarket for a temp. contract to re-stock shelves and have an interview this am; however, my DH expressed his concerns at me being more exposed to potential carriers of the virus & we have his elderly very vulnerable DM that we have to give regular care & attention to – she refuses to have carers in, Upshot is that I have agreed that I will cancel the interview, I am disappointed but we have to think of our families health too, he is being sensible. At least I shall be giving blood this pm, so still doing my bit for the community. When will this end? So worrying, keep safe everyone.
03/25 133.6 – 9.3 miles walked yesterday, outside was very quiet – everyone crossing the street if they met anyone to more than keep the obligatory distance apart, other than when I gave blood, obviously impossible to keep a distance when the blood carer is taking the blood! But all other precautions taken and constantly wiping everything down with anti-bac wipes. More obvious police patrols. Calories 315 in credit & all other macros in green.
03/26 134.2 – 8.67 miles walked yesterday, everywhere so quite, just the odd other person out taking their allowed daily exercise and crossing the street to avoid being in anything like close contact!! Surreal!! Lots of rainbows popping up in windows of those homes of primary school children doing their job and making me smile as I walk smile 447 calories in credit & all macros in green. Keep safe everyone x.

I believe it’s stress. I’m a nurse and on the front lines in the er and icu . So far no corona in our hospital but it’s still stressful. I am getting a hip replacement on the 25 th so more stress but I’m continuing to try to stay on plan.
03/19 255
03/20 255 surgery is still on.
03/21 252.4
well the surgery is now off. I was waiting for the other shoe to drop. I have to call my short term disability and rescind that and get back to work. We are tentatively scheduled for May 6. My surgeon felt bad but it’s out of his hands. Our hospital system has 28 hospitals and over 750 icu beds and not one patient with the virus but the government is forcing them too. I do understand but having none on bone pain and knowing I have to endure another 5 weeks just stinks.

03/23 249.8
03/24 249.8
03/25 248.2. Glad it’s dropping. Today would have been my surgery for getting my hip fixed. Thanks covid 😡. We are tentatively scheduled for April 29 . It could be earlier but as soon as the ban is lifted I’m my surgeons first case. So I can’t take my nsaids just Tylenol which is not cutting it. I plan on sticking with my healthy eating because that is the only thing I can control at this point.

3/25- 154.4 I don't feel like I've been jumping around insanely like I was in the past. I hope that means my body is adjusting to this new weight. I only have 4 pounds to go. It seems like so little, but I think I'm OK with it taking a few weeks to get there. I haven't been tracking carefully, too busy with homeschooling kids and working and trying to get them out for bike rides and such so we stay mentally happy too. Hugs to everyone finding their new norm.
3/26- 154 Kind of surprised. I ran, took the kids for a hike and did a ton of yard work, but I didn't really track my food. I do decent for breakfast and lunch and then it kind of falls apart.9 -

3/18 - 180.8
In a weird way I’m fine with holding steady within a pound of 180 for the past 5 weeks. I’m no longer gaining as I was, my metabolism is settling down, and I’m getting a good sense of what my maintenance calories really are. I haven’t been exercising much but as the weather warms up I’ll get back to walking long distances and I’m planning to expand one garden and plant a new herb garden (assuming the nurseries are open), so that will help. I also have some house painting (inside) left to do, so if I can keep my calories steady, I should start to lose again. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. Now to shake this stupid cold! I hope you’re all finding ways to stay calm and healthy and in touch through these chaotic times.
3/19 - 181
How’s everyone doing? I’m trying to keep busy with my work (writing) and things I’ve put off for ages (sorting photos, going through clothes for what no longer pleases...). I’ve been trying to talk to one or two friends every day on the phone — social media are great, but we need to hear voices. I was going to teach a couple of writing classes this spring and summer, but they’re cancelled, of course, so I’m setting them up to teach online and hoping that will be productive for everyone involved. I’m looking forward to warmer weather so I can play in my garden. I’d love to hear what others are doing to stay healthy and as happy as possible during these difficult times.

All things considered, okay. I did get out for a walk yesterday morning — it was 64 degrees F and lovely. Then the wind came up and the temp dropped 25 degrees by noon! Whoa! And now it’s trying to snow. Harumph. Oddly, even though we’re stuck at home I’m not snacking, and we are eating healthily. I’m a bit stir crazy but having a sinus headache that makes me go to bed for a while has helped — make lemonade, right? Last week I found a gorgeous Bassett entertainment center in a second hand store and it was delivered yesterday — see picture. We’re adding shelves inside — lots of storage space! I hope you’re all finding creative, loving ways to ride this out. Stay healthy!
3/22 - 179.8
Happy Sunday, everyone. If there’s an upside to our current situation, it’s time to do some of the things I’ve been putting off. Yesterday I cleaned out my “baking drawer” in the fridge — the spilled flour had been calling me for a while. Also went through everything, tossed a couple of things that were wayyyyy past their use-by dates, and wrote dates on the others in big fat numbers I can’t miss. It all looks so much tidier, cleaner, and more inviting! I hope you’re all finding things to do that make you happy.
3/23 - 180.4
Monday, Monday.... I over did it a little yesterday — all healthy, but.... I’m trying to let go of a stupid cold and I think NyQuil might make me retain a little water. Off to work (down the hall, into my office...). Stay well, everyone!
3/24 - 180.4
I indulged in some butterscotch chips yesterday — that’s right, the chips straight from the bag. They were worth it! But I’m resisting their pull today. Off to do some actual work.👩💻 I hope you’re all finding things for which to be grateful amid the chaos and restrictions. I’m writing down at least one thing each day. Today I am grateful to have a warm home to shelter my DH and Mike the cat and me.
3/25 - 180.6
That’s Monday and a Tuesday kicking in. It’s fine.
3/26 - 180.4
I was at the grocery store when they opened at 7, in and out in 20 minutes, and - ta da! - I scored toilet paper! Yay! Finally they’re limiting it to one per customer, so that’s good. It was lovely being out early. Supposed to be a little warmer today, so I’m hoping to get out into my garden for a little while. Weeds to pull!

OSW-187 Sept. 2018
Walk +/- 7 miles 4 x week. Goal Weight this Round: 158
Drink plenty of water, alcohol on weekends
SW-160
3/19-160-It’s wonderful to have ALL of you here!☕️🌷
3/20-159-Whew! Only 1/2 of the walk and ate a slice of bread and butter-treat! Big walk today and lots of sewing/quilt at home.
3/21-158-Well, it’s easier without having social eating events to go to. I’ll just keep on sewing and walking.
3/22-158-Walk and sew today.
3/23-158-Expected a higher weight since I made hearty turkey soup with pearl barley. More walking and quilting!
3/24-157-Yipeee!!! Walk & Sew, Walk & Sew!!!!
3/25-158-I’ll take it!
2/26-156-Glad to be making progress. Walking, sewing and not eating out is agreeing with me.10 -

03/20 160.0 lbs 13,000 steps, IF 16 hours. Goodness, I would love to see the fifties but obviously my scale can not go that low. LOL
03/21 161.0 lbs 1100 calories, 18,000 steps IF 16 hours. Not sure what I did. Hoping it goes down tomorrow, except today I plan on quilting.
03/22 160.0 lbs 1400 calories, 14,500 steps IF 16 hours. Come on, I have lowered my goal to just seeing the 159. The scale flashed 159.9 at me and said nope settling on 160 again.

03/15 160.0 lbs Surprise, Surprise, it just will not go below 160.0. 1150 calories, 15,000 steps, IF 16 hours. I guess I will starve the next two days to get below this mark. Ugh!
03/26 159.2 lbs 624 calories, 15,160 steps, IF 16 hours I made it under 160 finally, hope it holds for tomorrow but my "elderly friends, 67 and 68" and I are doing our weekly brave it to town to pick up some groceries and of course we will be going to someones house for a beverage after.
