03/21: 272 (-2.8 lbs). This is probably due to the fact I'm sick. Nonetheless I'm grateful for the loss.
03/22: 271.8 (-.2 oz) I'd be very happy if I could finally get out of the 70's this round. 😊

03/26: 271.6 (-.6 oz) Had hoped to get out of the 70's this round, but at least I'm still losing. I should reach the 60's next round.
03/27: 272.6 (+1 lb) Don't know why I gained a lb. I only ate 1,195 calories, and that was 215 calories below daily limit of 1,410 calories set by MFP. I think it's probably water retention.
I have lost a total of (-5.6 lbs) this week, so I'm really happy about that. 😊11 -

In a weird way I’m fine with holding steady within a pound of 180 for the past 5 weeks. I’m no longer gaining as I was, my metabolism is settling down, and I’m getting a good sense of what my maintenance calories really are. I haven’t been exercising much but as the weather warms up I’ll get back to walking long distances and I’m planning to expand one garden and plant a new herb garden (assuming the nurseries are open), so that will help. I also have some house painting (inside) left to do, so if I can keep my calories steady, I should start to lose again. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. Now to shake this stupid cold! I hope you’re all finding ways to stay calm and healthy and in touch through these chaotic times.

How’s everyone doing? I’m trying to keep busy with my work (writing) and things I’ve put off for ages (sorting photos, going through clothes for what no longer pleases...). I’ve been trying to talk to one or two friends every day on the phone — social media are great, but we need to hear voices. I was going to teach a couple of writing classes this spring and summer, but they’re cancelled, of course, so I’m setting them up to teach online and hoping that will be productive for everyone involved. I’m looking forward to warmer weather so I can play in my garden. I’d love to hear what others are doing to stay healthy and as happy as possible during these difficult times.

All things considered, okay. I did get out for a walk yesterday morning — it was 64 degrees F and lovely. Then the wind came up and the temp dropped 25 degrees by noon! Whoa! And now it’s trying to snow. Harumph. Oddly, even though we’re stuck at home I’m not snacking, and we are eating healthily. I’m a bit stir crazy but having a sinus headache that makes me go to bed for a while has helped — make lemonade, right? Last week I found a gorgeous Bassett entertainment center in a second hand store and it was delivered yesterday — see picture. We’re adding shelves inside — lots of storage space! I hope you’re all finding creative, loving ways to ride this out. Stay healthy!

Happy Sunday, everyone. If there’s an upside to our current situation, it’s time to do some of the things I’ve been putting off. Yesterday I cleaned out my “baking drawer” in the fridge — the spilled flour had been calling me for a while. Also went through everything, tossed a couple of things that were wayyyyy past their use-by dates, and wrote dates on the others in big fat numbers I can’t miss. It all looks so much tidier, cleaner, and more inviting! I hope you’re all finding things to do that make you happy.

I indulged in some butterscotch chips yesterday — that’s right, the chips straight from the bag. They were worth it! But I’m resisting their pull today. Off to do some actual work.👩💻 I hope you’re all finding things for which to be grateful amid the chaos and restrictions. I’m writing down at least one thing each day. Today I am grateful to have a warm home to shelter my DH and Mike the cat and me.

TOM started late last night so I was definitely retaining some water there. Need to up my water intake again, anyway. Hopefully next round I can have a bit of a routine and I'll be working from home so I can hop on and actually get a chance to read through everyone's posts.
Previous Day's Comments03/18 - I honestly forgot about it. I have an ick "head cold" (not the virus, its from the sudden change with allergies to/from TX). Just a slightly stuffy nose and some mucus that's drained to my throat. Woke up with cotton mouth and chugged water before I ever even got out of bed. Forgot I was going to weigh in today until I got out of bed a few minutes later. Oops! I think I know where my claritin is and I'm going in search of it through the packing madness in my house. Definitely need to focus on my water, I'm so dehydrated. My skin and body are showing it (like giving myself a bloody lip this AM when it cracked from dryness). I'm sure it'll also help with hunger as yesterday I could NOT be satisfied. I'd eat and still be hungry. It was madness. Today should be better, especially with water. Going to make some tea, as well, for caffeine since I already packed and moved my coffee pot. Body slowly adjusting to less and less caffeine throughout this, at least. I will weigh in 2 more days and then hopefully have a chance next week sometime once I start unpacking. I'd like to see some progress during this round, but only time will tell...
03/19 - I was afraid of this... So many carbs and a lot of mindless eating (including ice cream which bloats me like no other) and barely any water. Last day of work, they're taking me to lunch then I turn in my stuff. Still can't find my office keys. I swear they're in my office but I don't remember where and today is my only opportunity to look. Oh well. BF wants to pack the Uhaul Saturday morning and take off right after. Going to be a long day (even longer for him since he drives in Friday evening, that's a quick turnaround). Lots of stress. Lots of cleaning to do today. Taking the last of the packed items down so I can clean. I'm not looking forward to the cleaning of my kitchen. Really not that bad, just hate it.

03/23 - We left early due to the virus issues. Packed uhaul Friday night and left at 4am Saturday. Unpacked house today and got vehicles registered (they're due in Kansas in April). Drivers license office closed but my license is good to 2024 anyway. It's been craaaaazy. But I love it so much already. Moved my start date up to Wednesday instead of Monday to try to beat some of the madness and get me in their system to start working (utilities, I'm essential).
03/24 - I am all over the place. Body is sore in almost every way. I'm exhausted (despite getting 10+ hours of sleep the last 2 nights) and just now settling in. I start my new job tomorrow. I'm hoping that it's just tomorrow and Thursday, off Friday (since engineers work 4-10s with every Friday off) so I can continue settling in and getting my life together. Finally got some water in as I found my water bottles (tap water tastes nasty -- there's a refill station just a block away from the house, but I have yet to get that done for BF and I. He ran out while kids were here). Haven't had a chance to read through posts yet so I hope everyone is doing well despite the virus madness! Hoping I can get back on a schedule with y'all by next round, but we shall see. Going to try to post when I can, but I'll be weighing and updating my Libra app daily (so long as I don't end up running late while I learn traffic and commute times)

3/19 254.4 That’s the previous low I hit anything lower will be a new low. I was looking through my phone at older photos and then I saw my newer ones, the difference is so profound. It really helped me to see how far I’ve come.
3/20 255.2 Early weigh in, Japanese take out, and a lack of sleep. On the plus side I got to the store early enough to get potatoes and chicken.
3/21 254.4 I’m glad to be back down I had a high sodium lunch, which sometimes gives me a bounce up. I also hit ovulation time according to my health app, so I’ll see if I hold or manage to drop. Sometimes if I’m really careful I can still see a drop or two, but usually I hold or bounce around.
3/22 254.0 New low, yay! It’s been a bit since I’ve been able to say that and I’m so glad that I didn’t give in to the want to eat yesterday.
3/23 253.4 Yay for the continuing downward trend. I wanted to eat to eat again yesterday and I finally had a couple of spoonfuls of ice cream and a small amount of chocolate milk. I didn’t binge though and thankfully it helped a lot. I’m really proud of myself for sticking to just a couple of bites and not letting it spiral out of control.
3/24 252.4 I don’t know what brought about this big drop, but I hope the downward trend continues and I don’t bounce back up some.
3/25 252.6 I don’t know what caused the little bounce, but I didn’t know what brought on such a drop yesterday, so I guess it all evens out.

It seems like so little, but I think I'm OK with it taking a few weeks to get there. I haven't been tracking carefully, too busy with homeschooling kids and working and trying to get them out for bike rides and such so we stay mentally happy too. Hugs to everyone finding their new norm.
3/26- 154 Kind of surprised. I ran, took the kids for a hike and did a ton of yard work, but I didn't really track my food. I do decent for breakfast and lunch and then it kind of falls apart.
3/27- 153.6 I'll take it. I even ate a whole candy bar yesterday. I should have stopped at half, but I'm still trying to find that happy medium. I need to be able to eat junk every once in a while for this to be sustainable for me. I just have to learn how to moderate and generally eat better. Getting there.

3/18: 139.0 (+.2) – This next several months will be challenging as we are all having to change our daily realities, activities, eating, etc. The more we can talk about it the better. I went to my small gym today (at a private club so its still open but they are limiting it to 10 people at a time. Thankfully I was by myself, and rode the bike for an hour and rowed for 10 min. I miss running and walking as I need fresh air. But I am determined to heal the hip and keep on keeping on. Everyone hang in there.😘
3/19: 139.0 (0) Nothing new. Just trying to stay put and work, entertain myself, eat healthy, etc. I went to the nursery yesterday, waiting to get in as they kept it to 10 people and strolled around in fresh air and bought a few plants to repot my pots. Found out this morning that my 24 year old son in NYC is showing symptoms of a virus – assuming Covid 19 but he will not go to doctor because they said per the website not to bother unless you were in bad shape. No testing available either. He will just have to deal….sent him some stuff yesterday so hopefully he stays mild and can rest and stay in for a week and be over it.😑
3/23: 139.2 (-1.2) Ate a pretty unhealthy lunch but a really healthy vegetarian dinner. Drank some wine. No idea why I am up and down a lot other than stress. Life is unreal these days so not going to attempt to be able to understand it. It’s going to be a long week. 😒
3/24:138.0 (-1.2) No idea….did eat under and did a very short ride. I think the veggies helped my system reset. Need to do that more! Was able to find a thermometer and fed ex to my son. I hope he is ok. 😯
3/25: 139.2 (+1.2) This scale is acting wonky but I did have a very salty fajita meal and a couple of cocktails while doing a zoom bookclub . Who knows. Social isolation messes with the mind and the scale. The good news? Talked to my son today. He sounded a bit better!🥰
3/26: 139.6 (+.4) Yep….eating back all my calories and not the best mix of food-wine and candy. Stress is messing with me.
3/27: 138.6 (-1.0) Down a pound from yesterday and up .6 from beginning of the challenge. Lots of flux. My goal during lockdown, which for me will last well past Easter because I choose to listen to the specialists and not the ones running for reelection, will be to try to maintain under 140. 3/18 192.2 Happy to start with a loss! Am down and blue this morning—didn’t sleep well, my daughter was laid off with the rest of her company, so this at least is something nice to think about. Working hard to get exercise in and keep calories green. Can’t let the blues mess with progress...
3/19 192.2 Happy to stick with the lower weight and not bounce up. So far sticking to the program but struggling with feeling burned out by all the firefighting and emotional support I have to put out there.

Realistically I’m doing the exact same things—eating green, exercising—but I’m also out of routine with this working at home and have a higher level of anxiety as reflected in a rising average resting heart rate. So I’m ok with maintaining—my goal is to be compassionate with myself right now. Compassionate by being healthy, but not harsh.

3/25 192.0 I’m guessing hormonal fluctuations. Or else because 40 minutes on the bike in the evening is not as helpful to metabolism as a walk in the morning! No good reason otherwise for an uptick, was green for calories.

03/18: 177.6 (A nice 2 lb drop from yesterday! I did an at home Zumba class from what I remember during the at person one using Spotify. I made a delicious dinner and tried to release some stress. I’m still going to work since they haven’t shut down and I don’t see them doing it unless the governor does it for the whole state. We’ll see! Taking it day by day!)
03/19: 178.8 (I’m super sore from my workouts at home! This weight gain is only temporary since I’ve completely changed the way I workout. I did another YouTube workout and ate to plan.)

I’m so stressed out because my husband has been ordered to not work and thankfully I work for an essential business so half of our normal income will come through just fine. My husband has to file from unemployment today and we’ll see how much he gets. It’s gonna be a struggle, but I’m grateful that I’ll have enough money for essentials. I need another mental health day, so I will be staying at home like we’ve been ordered to (I usually have every other Friday off so my weekend has started) and organizing my bathroom. I didn’t do a workout yesterday but I got approved to work from home so I’ll be doing that next week. Only time we’re really gonna go outside is when we need to go to the grocery store. Hubby is going right now to see if there are eggs anywhere. We only have 3 left and there’s a shortage!)

03/24: 178.6 (Had a normal day at work and did another YouTube workout. Hubby put the crockpot on for dinner and I did not have to cook anything last night. Those are my favorite kind of meals!)

03/18 - 361.8 - Good news. My interview on Monday went well. Better news. I have applied for several positions with state (PA) and federal gov't. One position with the state just got back to me and said I scored a 100 on their test. Now I'm just a bit excited. Getting a job with either means I can use my time in the Air Force towards retirement. I'll have to work until I'm 72, but hey... it does take a huge weight off my shoulders. Bittersweet news... My mom has lived with me for the past 20+ years. We recently found out she has early stage dementia. But the state is saying she now qualifies for in-home health care. Which means that while I am at work, someone will be here most of that time. This would be another huge weight off my shoulders. I had to reset my scale and it jumped up. Not happy, but let's see how it goes for the next few day.
03/19 - 360.9 - At a time where the coronavirus is virtually collapsing our economy, I got offered a job yesterday. I just have to pass the background check. As long as my previous employers are honest, I'll be fine. I guess the stress was slowing my weightloss, since I'm down almost a pound. The real barometer is if it continues. Time will tell. Also got my payout from my 6-month DietBet. I put in $175 and got out $176.30. Yup, a whopping $1.30 of winnings. Needless to say, I won't be doing that again. And that's a cautionary tale for anyone interested/considering participating.
03/20 - 359.4 - And downward we go. Back under 360 and I hope it stays that way.
03/21 - 359.3 - Slowly we continue. As long as I'm level or dropping, I'm ok.
03/22 - 359.1 - Starting to exercise from home. I liked going to the gym because if I drove there, I seemed to be more invested. I know I have to exercise, even if I sometimes fight myself. Downward we go!
03/23 - 358.0 - I think I'm solidly under 360 now. And a little roadmark... I'm now down over 20% of the total weight I want to drop. And I'm a little ahead since I've now reached my goal for this round.
03/24 - 358.4 - A small tick back. Not a problem, since the downward trend still holds.
03/25 - 357.7 - Seems that when I consistently drink ACV, my weight # goes down. 45 lbs. down. While I have been hired for one job, my dream job was to get a state or federal job and use my time in the Air Force (8 years) towards a retirement. In the past few days I've gotten great test scores back from the state and been referred for a federal job with the VA close to my home. I'm hoping this is that ray of sun through all the clouds. But like this long-term weight loss journey, those jobs are slower to the actual finish line. If anyone works for their state (mine is PA) or federal gov't, any advice is certainly appreciated. I don't want to get too excited, but... I am!
03/26 - 357.0 - Another nice loss. FINALLY started adding weights into my routine. Did a 15 minute kettlebell routine this morning that just about killed me, but when you start, it's always hard.
03/27 - 357.4 - Small uptick, but still under my 10 day goal. I'm ready for Round 109. Everybody stay safe and healthy!

I've found my way back. It's been ages since I was last online. With so much happening to us all right now I won't burden you with my trifling inconveniences. There are too many real problems out there for me to complain about anything.
"No mercy and no excuses" I quote an old online friend of mine. I managed to keep the fat off about ten years but in the past year I've managed to hit a ten year high. No way am I going to turn this weight loss surgery success story into a failure story.
The round is nearly over but I'm re-committing to my partial daily fast. No solids from midnight to 4pm at the earliest and one small snack plus one full meal daily. It has been working for me.

03/22 …..202.0 ….. Prep cooked yesterday so dinners are under control for the most part. Low supplies are making the sides difficult. Now, I just have to watch any other meals and snacks. I am hoping that today will be even better than yesterday. On the home front, today I have to get out there and clean 5 cabins and I am a nervous wreck about the possible germs. Of course, I will take every precaution but still……..I have found that neighbors and townsfolk are starting to call and ask if I have gloves, bleach, Lysol, toilet paper etc. that they can buy off me or that I can share with their family. They expect I will have those products in a motel situation, honestly, people are thinking of anything they can to keep themselves safe. I wish I could share with everyone but my suppliers have dried up so I have to be cautious. I am trying to help/share with my adult kids / family and closest friends. However, if I run out of supplies I have to close my business. And, I have to remain diligent in protecting the public when they come to my place of business. Business and revenue has slowed for sure, but is still going on. What a sad state our world is in right now. I know other countries and other US states are faring much worse than northern Michigan. Prayers to you all. Our best defense is staying as healthy as we can. Today I will try to find the time for some additional indoor movement.

I spent my day shopping (which is allowed during the mandated stay-in in Michigan). I delivered to all my children and closest friends so more people could stay in. I had to go out for repair parts anyway so this was the safest bet for everyone. I am back inside today. I may go out to rake my motel parking lot a bit as exercise (exercise allowed outside during mandate) and try to keep things looking okay. I’ll be raking around snowpiles, but it is supposed to be warmer today so I want to take advantage of it. I see that our group are real troopers in light of this virus. I am so proud of you all for your efforts to continue on the best journey possible during this pandemic. {{hugs}} to you all!
03/26 …..203.2 ….. I think this house arrest (that’s what the shut-in-order feels like!) has made me go completely insane. Thank goodness I burned a lot of calories yesterday or who knows how “unreasonable” the scale would have been! No excuses. My fault. Today will be better. No choice!
03/27 …..203.8 ….. I am still making bad choices but it is the lack of movement that is really doing me in. Yesterday was a cold rainy day, but today it is better and sunny. Round 108 Goal: Just try to keep my head in the game with everything going on. That's it - if I can do that then I succeeded this round. It's easy to lose perspective when all of a sudden losing weight seems trivial compared to everything else. But I'm keeping in mind it's about being healthy and strong (emotionally, mentally and physically) and that takes on even more importance now.

I did give in to snacking on graham crackers late last night, so if I stick with IF today maybe it will drop to 164’s. Have been getting more phone calls, texts than usual from extended family all checking up on each other. That with the online news has really put a dint in my organization and days. Today making a list and getting some fresh air and exercise time. Weather here is very early spring – rhubarb just emerging. I’m toying with the idea of starting some plants inside for later transplanting. I haven’t done that in years but still have the light setup and it’s so much fun to see all the stuff germinate plus no idea if greenhouses will be open.
03/22 – 164.2 – Don’t feel like I deserve this as I snacked on cashews last night. Oh well, a better day today. Another beautiful day and typical for us this time of year – under the trees on the sunny side of the yard things are turning green and the rest has 2+ feet of snow. Good thing I see the sunny side from the diningroom.
03/23 – 163.8 – Nice to see this and hope I can keep going down. Tracked all and IF - 12 hrs. Feeling pretty good though still some coughing and sneezing – ack, was hoping to do a quick final run to the groc. store but I guess not today.
03/24 – 163.4 – Tracked and IF. Hung sheets on the line and did a little bit outside. Love the fresh air but have to make myself get out there. I’m 2/3 done, and can hardly wait to finish, a bigger cross-stitch project and it’s really helping with the snacking because I have to keep my hands very clean. So much better than surfing the news in the evening.
03/25 – 163.8 – IF -12 or more, didn’t finish tracking but stayed quite low. DH went to the groc. store during the seniors’ time this a.m. to pick up milk and a few other things because I am still coughing. Feeling very thankful to be alive and ok, in my own home, and spring coming outside.
03/26 – 164 – Tracked cals. and under, IF – 12+ hrs. Did spend most of the day sitting doing cross stitch – it’s coming along so well and the end is in sight – however, have to make myself do some more active stuff.

My goal was to get down below 160, to allow me to enjoy the indulgences of holidays and celebrations.
2019:
I exceeded that and have been below 150 for most of the last 2 months.
In 2018, I put on 10 lbs over the last 2 months of the year.
In 2019, I consistently lost weight since the end of July. I put on about 4lbs over the Christmas break, but was still below my original 2019 goal.
That's a WIN in my book!
Focus: maintenance! I might even manage to lose a bit more ever so slowly.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

69 years old female...5'5" ...I used to be 5'7" but arthritis hit and I lost two inches, so now that two inches is squished around my waist like the billows of a big accordion... ...Oh, well. I'll just keep working on it.
We used to walk 5 miles a day. A pinched nerve and back surgery side-lined me for about a year. Then I had back surgery. Then I had hip surgery March 10th. Recovery is slow. Sure do want to be back walking!
The Shelter in Place has everyone freaked. We need to remain calm and respectful of each other.

03/18 - 164.7 I'm really losing track of my goals. I haven't worked out in 9 days and I completely binged out on snacks yesterday. I'm definitely in a downward spiral. I usually track my weeks from Sunday through Saturday which means I'd keep on this path and start fresh on Sunday. That's too long. I am starting fresh today. I can do this. Please help hold me accountable!
03/19 - 164.9 Wrong direction. I did get a workout in and stayed relatively close to my calorie goal. Going to workout today and stay under my calorie goal!
03/20 - 164.9 Well I got a workout in however I went WAY over my calorie goal. On the bright side, I ate all the snacks in my house so I have no more temptations. As long as I break even this round I'll be happy.
03/21 - 164.0 Getting close to breaking even! My SO offered to go get me my fav snacks while practicing social distancing and renting and watching The Invisible Man at home. Guess what, I said no! I would not have been able to use portion control and it was past my eating period.
03/22 - 163.1 FINALLY back on track towards my goals!
03/23 - 162.3 Very proud. Trying to stay positive through this Pandemic.
03/24 - 161.4 Wow ... I remember just a couple months ago inching towards the 160's. Can't believe I'll reach the 150's soon!
03/25 - 160.3 Okay this is unbelievable. Maybe my scales broke 😅
03/26 - 161.4 Alright this feels normal.
