    12 week challenge MFP

Happy New Year Challengers! I am back from a great trip to South America where I did not count calories but did stay very active. I actually hiked 13 miles up and down a steep trail. I think my weight loss from the last challenge helped my with my confidence!

Goals for this challenge: Keep logging, daily exercise, expand my palate into more veggies and add back strength training to gain muscle. I really focused on cardio and just learning how to log and now I want to focus on strength and macros. Looking forward to all of our successes here!

    Highest Weight: 160
    Current Weight: 150.2
    12 Week Goal Weight: 137
New 12 week Goal Weight: 140
    Ultimate Goal Weight: 137

    Weigh In:

    12/23/19 – Vacation🌴

    12/30/19 – Vacation🌴

    1/6/20 - 150.2👈

1/13/20 -149.8 – ran 6 miles yesterday which made me hungry so I ate a pancake, boom. Win some, eat some. Now back to reality and need to lose the vacation mentality when it comes to drinking. 😆

1/20/20 – 148.2 – Looking forward to sticking to my routine this week, exercising, logging and a little yoga.😘

1/27/20 – 149.0 -- Got off track this week with food – did great on workouts. Also having some digestive issues so I need to focus on my food choices and drink more water. Time for a restart and good week.🙄

2/3/20 -146.6 – A lot of yoyoing of weight this week. I'm logging, measuring (except yesterday at a Superbowl party) and sticking to my workout plans. Struggling a bit with macros and digestive issues but working on that this week.🤔

2/10/20 – 146.4 – This was a weird week. Dealing with a hip flexor or related injury and so workouts are not 100%. Trying to eat/drink under calories, including alcohol (weekends only). Really need to eat to my macros and stick to home cooked meals to control ingredients. Protein, fiber, water, repeat.😎

2/17/20 – 145.8 – Slowly working off my vacation weight from the holidays and have a couple of weeks with no trips, parties etc so I need to buckle down and focus on choices, macros, and getting my hip back to 100%. Warm weather and bathing suits are just around the corner.👙🌞

2/24/20 – 144.4 – Lots of up and downs this week, kinda like the stock market! Happy to have a loss. Really working on the macros thing but have had to be social and eat out and I really struggle with guessing the right logging of food. And my hip flexor is still causing problems so need to settle down and stick with the plan. Cheers y’all!🤘

3/2/20 – 143.0 – I am very happy with this, even though it’s a pound up from yesterday. I have been struggling with the hip and also have had a lot of social stuff and house guests so I am noticing that I am trying to plan ahead and build in calories for fun! I run to eat and drink lol! A slower week and weekend ahead to focus on healing and eating well.🌻

3/9/20 – 141.0 - Moving in the right direction. But expect some up and down for the next few months as I just found out that my hip MRI shows a stress fracture???? Not sure I believe it and will know more tomorrow. I will have to adjust my exercise, which has been a big part of my success. I guess it will make me focus on my diet and macros. That could be a good thing.😎

3/16/20 – 141.0 – Was in the 140s this weekend but back up. I have been hobbled – no running or walking for cardio. Only non-weight bearing exercise like cycling. Which means the gym, which may or may not be a good idea. I am going to try to figure out some stuff to get my heart rate up. Also going to try a Peloton for a month. Stay safe everyone❤

3/23/20 - 139.2 – all over the map. Stress is high and eating and drinking for emotional purposes. My son is in NYC and is pretty confident that he has Covid 19 – all of the symptoms. I hate being so far away. I hope we can get through this week and I worry about the rest of the world. So much sadness!! But gotta keep moving and eating healthy. And staying home.😣

3/30/20 -139.8 (+.6) The flux are due to choices – food, salt, snacking, drinking, sweets. I know it. Now what choice am I going to make to get back on track this week? Eating well, moving my body, drinking water, self care. April is going to last forever!🙄 Can it be July yet?

I had a good round as I was able to lose my vacation/holiday weight. Now we are all facing a new challenge - new routines and stress. I am so thankful for these challenges and hearing from people as to how they are doing, good and bad. We need each other. Stay safe and sane y'all! <3

@bearly63 I am so glad to hear that Zack has improved. I have asked the Man Above to help him build great immunity so if there is a re-infection or another wave in the fall, he will be 100% protected. Once is enough! {{hugs}} and prayers to you too.

    15 Week Goal Weight: 135
Ultimate Goal Weight: 125<--I've decided, that's where I want to be. Don't know how long it will take me to get there, but that's the number I want to see on the scale.

    Weigh In:

    12/23/19 - 156.4
    12/30/19 - 154.4
    1/06/20 - 153.6
    1/13/20 - 152.4
    1/20/20 - 149.8
    1/27/20 - 148.8
    2/03/20 - 146.6
    2/10/20 - 145.4
    2/17/20 - 145.4
    2/24/20 - 144.0
    3/02/20 - 141.4
    3/09/20 - 140.8
    3/16/20 - 139.0
    3/23/20 - 138.4
    3/30/20 - 135.4 <--missed it by <> that much!

I'm super happy with my progress for the last 12 weeks. I'm officially down 21 pounds since December 23.

Some other milestones in these last 12 weeks: I can run for 30 minutes straight (I am not fast, but that's ok). I actually shopped in White House/Black Market and bought some super cute outfits in a size 10 on December 31st and now they are too big for me. I can do an actual Irish Jig. My BMI is now a 24.8, which is in the Normal range. When I started this lifestyle change on August 1, 2019 my BMI was obese.

New goal for round 3: Lose the last 10.4 pounds and begin maintenance.

Congratulations to everyone on a job well done! If you didn't reach you goal, keep trying, you'll get there!

My Name is Donna, Age 59. I am 5’5” tall & I live in Northern Michigan USA

“To ensure good health: eat lightly, breathe deeply, live moderately, cultivate cheerfulness, and maintain an interest in life.”– William Londen

    Weigh In Schedule:
12/23: 190.2 Today is baking and fudge day as I prep fresh for the Holidays. No taste-testing for me! Today will be a low carb/low cal day. I’m banking it up for the holiday dinner & festivities. Good luck everyone during the challenge!
12/30: 190.4 And there are the calories I banked up, showing up on the scale as predicted. It was actually worse this week but I had a major whoosh along the way. I’m going for a good week and a better report on Jan 6th weigh-in.
    01/06: 191.8 Notsomuch!
01/13: 195.4 Horrid. Really fighting sugar drops & frenzied eating to bring glucose back up.
01/20: 189.7 Working hard on regulating my blood glucose levels. I’ve been having some pretty bad episodes because I let the Holidays get the best of me and now my body is out of whack. I know what to do and am slowing doing it to re-adjust. A nice slow drop this week is helping.
01/27: 190.0 Still fighting the glucose drops. Some are pretty bad. Shoveling in the food during them to quickly bring levels back up keeps putting me two steps back. I’m working on solutions.
02/03: 192.6 After Superbowl party weight. I stayed away from the starchy snacks but there was the lasagna dinner……
02/10: 193.1 Trying low cal instead of low carb. It’s not working for me because it makes me feel like I have free reign. Gotta rethink this whole thing!
    02/17: 194.8 Embarrassed for myself.
02/24: 195.5 It was higher but I’ve been inching it down. Slow but sure. I think I’ve tweaked the plan to help my glucose as follows: Under 50 carbs, Under 1400 calories. We’ll see what difference its made by next week.
03/03: 201.6 Travel…..Social events…..and all the other excuses which are true, but not exclusive to just me. Congrats, truly, to everyone else who is maneuvering through successfully. I remain inspired and it does help me to work harder so I thank you for that. I’ll be trying hard again this week.
03/10: 199.8 Okay that is much better. I really do well when I stay away from my friends and family LOL. Darn all those skinny people anyway who always want to meet over lunch! I’m doing great at home, but not confident yet that I can control how I behave at restaurants & gatherings for sure. I’m working on that mindset. Realizing it’s a weakness, I suppose, is the first step. Too late to even get back where I started in this challenge, but it’s not too late to get far away from where I’ve been!
03/17: 200.4 Happy St. Patrick’s Day Everyone. This virus has gotten everything and everyone in the beautiful state of Michigan going crazy Getting most standard low carb or keto foods is proving to be impossible right now so I am having to put my thinking cap on in regards to both diet and exercise. I am being cautious but trying not to be greedy. I hope everyone will take care of their families but also help anyone in need. Please, everyone, keep those hands washed. You are all in my prayers.
03/24: 201.6 Stress eating and finding myself with a lack of ingredients due to shortages. I’m going to get creative so my prep cooking in my freezer does not run out. Having sides for my meals and having lunches are the most challenging. If there is a will…..there is a way. I am hoping my numbers will get better.
03/31: 203.5 I also need a do-over. I’m feeling quite strong today and recommitted to health. Let’s keep inspiring eachother!

Total Accumulation of Weight Lost thus far in Challenge: 13.3 lb GAIN. Winter stunk! I am ready for Spring and for self-improvement!

New 12-Week Challenge has been posted for any and all who want to continue. I, for one, was very lax the last challenge, so I really need to step it up.
