04/07 248.4 I think this is a pre tom bounce up as I’ve been having some pms symptoms.
04/08 247.8 And back down again. I struggled a little yesterday morning due mostly to stress, but I realized that my way of eating was the single biggest thing I can control right now. That thought helped a lot and kept me on track. I thought I would share it in case it might help anyone else. Hang in there everyone.
04/09 247.0
04/10 247.6 I had a lunch/dinner “out” with the husband yesterday. I ate high, but still under maintenance. I also got the migraine that I usually get with tom, but no tom yet. I’m hopeful that I won’t get a second one once it decides to arrive.
04/11 247.0
04/12 245.4 False low? Water loss? I suppose I’ll see over the next few days.
04/13 244.8 Yay not a false low.
04/14 246.0 No idea, but I’ve had a headache since last night, so maybe tom is thinking about showing.
04/15 245.0 Yesterday was a bad day and today isn’t off to a good start on anything other than the weight loss front.
04/16 244.2 A new low is always a nice way to end a round. I’m halfway to my weight loss goal for the year with a total for the year of 25 pounds lost. Yesterday improved a little and even with the added stress I've vowed to stay on track.

Day/Weight/Comment
04/07 – 126.0
04/08 – 126.0
04/09 – 126.0 – not sure how I am getting the exact same weight so many days in a row, but I have tested the scale.
04/10 – 126.2 – I guess my scale heard the complaining, but I would have preferred it to go the other way. Could just be my mid-cycle/ovulation bloating too.
04/11
04/12
04/13 – 127.4 – I have been horrible with Easter this weekend, and just generally working from home (in the kitchen close to all of the food). Eating too much in general and not making good choices at all.
04/14 – 127.4
04/15 – 127.0
04/16 – 126.2 – 0.2 lb gain for this round. I have had too many rounds with gains-small and slow, but still gains. I have had mfp set to maintenance, but I am no longer maintaining so I have changed it back. Part of the problem is that I haven't been logging foods at all, so I will need to start working on that again.

4/7: 140.0 (-.8) – Still working off the weekend sodium and fat. Ate well yesterday, until dessert.
4/8: 138.6 (-.4) – meals were pretty healthy, snacking not so much. Had some wine on the deck. Got a good workout in on the Peloton and did a nice stretch and core class.
4/9: 139.2 (+.6) – Good workouts today. OK food. Zoom HH. Ice cream. All in all, a delicious day.
4/10: 139.8 (+.6) - Eating choices lead to this….totally within my control.
4/11: 140 (+.2) Ate well today….made chicken tortilla soup. I will be back on track on Monday.
4/12: 140.2 (+.2) Easter was great – nice weather, made a delicious brunch and typical ham, au gratins and green beans dinner. Salty but delish. Glad its over and I can refocus on protein and veggies. And more water.
4/13: 140.0 (-.2) Time for the Monday restart.
4/14: 140.0 (0) Ok day of eating yesterday. Did a nice bike ride. Need to get back into strength and stretching. Didn’t need the ice cream but is was good.
4/15: 140.2 (+.2) kinda stuck here. But I know why. Just reloaded on fresh veggies and will be adding more to my diet.
4/16: 140.0 (-.2) Talk about a plateau! Did a hard ride yesterday to make up for 3 pieces of sourdough bread that was so good. And bean soup. But I did have a great big veggie salad.
No change for this round but I guess I am lucky. Lockdown is not good for this extrovert’s soul!!

04/07 192.0 well going to maintenance calories has not “shocked” my body into losing, either. I’m going to be as super diligent with my tracking as possible and lower my target again. Someday I’ll get off this plateau.
04/08 191.8 so the plateau continues. 😠 Again green on calories, even at lower amount.
04/09 190.6 Scale movement, finally! After a depressing evening realizing I have a shin stress fracture, and a terrible night with the cathedral ceiling smoke detector doing the “need battery beep” all night (why does it do this each year after midnight? Why do we never remember to schedule the battery change? And there’s no way I’m dealing with this dangerous maneuver—balance on a ladder over a 1story drop—while alone in the house with a problematic leg), it’s really heartening to see some pay off!
04/10 189.8 Whoohoo! Off that 191-192 plateau and I finally got to type “18X”. Patience, it took patience and trust in my habits. Though I’m not counting on keeping this for tomorrow...I measured later in the morning than usual. But I’m ready to keep at this! Did chair weights yesterday, rested, ate well and under my calorie target.
04/11 190.0 Not shocked that I couldn’t keep a “18X” but still very happy to be in 190. Last night was a rare time I ate over target, but I was still well under maintenance calories so I’m hoping it doesn’t set me back much in the next few days.
04/12 189.2 Happy this is continuing to go in the right direction, even when I can’t exercise!
04/13 190.6 totally deserve this after a binge-y Easter. But will be back on track today, looking forward to a great week!
04/14 190.4 Not too surprising. Had stomach issues that made hungry while causing pain. Today seems better and am on track with eating so hopefully a better number tomorrow.
04/15 189.4 Back in the 18X decade. Yay!
04/16 188.4 And a nice loss to finish the round. Yay! 🎉

4/7- 155.8 I don't think the 8 mile bike ride and frisbee golf with the kids was enough to cancel out the Dairy Queen we got afterward, but it was wonderful and we had a great time.
4/8- 154.4 I didn't eat back my exercise calories yesterday. It shows, but I'm also hungry. How do you get comfortable with the constant hunger?
4/9- 153.6 sweet. Hiked with the kids and then ran another 2 miles too. Hoping this is me pushing through this plateau I've been on a while.
4/10- 153.6 Good. So windy yesterday. Didn't work out. Have to try to be good going into this eating weekend.
4/11-154.8
4/12- DNW
4/13- 157.2- I did nothing but bake and gorge most of the weekend. I rode and ran both days, but that's not enough. Back at it today. Why, why is it so easy to gain 4 pounds in two days, but take forever to get down one?! It's just all about calories. Off to track...
4/14- 154.6 That's a huge loss... One of these numbers isn't accurate. Eh. I'll chalk it up to the heavy carbs, salt and sugar that were making me retain water. My hands have been really swollen the last two days. I stayed on track yesterday. I intend to do the same today.
4/14- 154.8 I ate well bellow calories yesterday, but I'm not surprised the weekend is still hanging around.
4/15- 154.8 those 10 days flew by.
down 1 lb, but I gained more than that last round. Need to stay on track.11 -

4/8 121.5 Way over on everything yesterday. Our wonderful SIL has To go in to work yesterday so went to Sam’s and Walmart and got EVERYTHING on my list except a supplement I have been taking for well over a decade. Fresh produce will be a challenge in the coming weeks but otherwise we’re good.
**4/9 121.0 Fasted for 20 hours 8PM on 4/8 to 4PM 4/9
4/10 120.0 Yesterday during my fast I found myself going to the kitchen a couple of times and then realizing I wasn’t even hungry. I had intended to fast for 18 hours and went to 20 with no actual hunger. I think I would have been okay longer but had to “feed” DH. I made “dinner” at 4 because we needed to eat the coleslaw that was leftover so hot dogs (no bread) and slaw it was. No snacking in the evening.
4/11 120.0
4/12 119.5. Had a nice visit with our daughter and SIL yesterday sitting on the driveway. He got gas in DH’s car while we chatted then joined us as we maintained about a 20 foot separation.
4/13 120.0
4/14 120.0 Approaching the end of another round! Why do these 10 days fly by and a month of “stay home” drags on?
4/15 119.5 Well, I finally got back. Interrupted by MFP maintenance at 8:23 PT then household stuff. DH cleaning garage, house being power washed before being painted, getting trash and bulk ready to be set out tonight and getting ready to receive grocery order tonight. It’s a good day.
4/16 120.5 Ended the round below my start. A little normal bouncing but all below my goal of 125. My 10 day average is lower.

04/07 - 209 lbs - here goes!
04/08 - 208 lbs 🙂
04/09 - 208 lbs
04/10 - 207 lbs - surprised to lose because I wasn't fully on track yesterday.
04/11 - 206 lbs - trying to use up food that I've had stored for a while, some weird combinations happening for meals 🙂
04/12 - 207 lbs
04/13 - 207 lbs - not disastrous, 3 days left to try to reach goal weight for this round, will try to focus on that
04/14 - 207 lbs - inactive days showing on the scales 😳
04/15 - 206 lbs
04/16 - 205 lbs - just made target for this round. Thanks to everyone for likes, it's very much appreciated. 😊8 -

Round 110 - April 07 - April 16 - 154.9
Day/Weight/Comment
04/07 - 156.3 - Fluctuation, hope to see a better number tomorrow.
04/08 - 155.5 - better, but still slightly more than last round EW
04/09 - 155.2
04/10 - 156.3 - Argh, I had more than 1,000 calories left on the tracker because I had so much exercise/activity yesterday. Hoping for a better number tomorrow (sounding like a broken record)
04/11 - 156.7
04/12 - 155.7
04/13 - 156.3 - There is that number again. I am not going to stress about it (well, I will try not to) because I am right on track. I am working out more than usual with the extra time on my hands and eating well within my limit. I expect a drastic drop soon.
04/14 - 157.5 - Still waiting for a "woosh" and still having 1,000 calories per day left over on the tracker. Trying to be patient
04/15 - 155.5 - I am sure that I didn't lose 2 pounds in a day, I think that was just a blip. Possibly 2 days of turkey dinner - low cal but possibly high in sodium. I need to get down .1 of a pound to match my April 06 EW.

It's only been 4 days but -0.2kg so onward and upwards to the next round!
If your goal is to be at a higher/lower number than when you started, don't be put down by the fact that higher/lower number isn't as high/low as you wanted! Over the course of weeks and months these changes add up drastically!
If you ever feel down and head to the snack draw to get something sweet or something you don't need to eat. Think about the real reason you started this journey in the first place, because when I think about mine it instantly gives me that 'it's not worth it feeling' and I grab a piece of fruit or have a coffee!
@CharlieS96
Thanks for sharing such encouraging words! I used to have specific goals per round. After realizing how successful @quiltingjaine had been just by making sure that each round she weighed a little less, I changed my goals to reflect that same idea. Like so many have said, it's not a race.
Tonight, when the munchie monsters set in, I will try to remember why I started this journey. Last night, when the sweet cravings set in, I grabbed a cup of green tea with a little stevia. It did the trick. Sometimes it does not. But certainly it is the thing to try first! I must, I must, I must remember why I started. It has to do with cancer, my son with Autism, type 2 diabetes, bending down to tie my shoes, loving my beautiful grandsons and wearing clothing sizes from a regular store that I can actually try on first, instead of ordering blindly from the online plus size factories. I cannot promise that my cravings, hunger or sugar drops won't get the best of me at times, but I can say that I am working on getting my overall plan to be the Norm again.
I so very much appreciate all that I learn here on this challenge. Thanks to everyone for sharing their tips and secrets. Thanks, always, to @GrandmaJackie for continuing to make this all possible and thank You for sharing your ideas. I love this group!

04/15 …..203.4 ….. I had more movement yesterday and more calorie burn. However, I ate back the calories and some extra. I feel like a hamster in a wheel. I am doing something differently today but I don’t want to mention it right now because, if I fail, I just cannot take another failure at this time (especially a public one). I’m just going to have to work hard on it. My goal was to be less than I started. It doesn’t look possible, but I’m not going to give up just yet. Come on Whoosh!
04/16 …..202.4 ….. Yippie-ti-aye-yay.
I don’t know if I spelled that right, but it sure feels good to say it! I drank lots of water and observed very close to a beef and butter fast plan. I was just under 1000 calories (I couldn’t close out MFP for the day). My carbs were under 20g. I had very little exercise or movement, but my sugar did not drop so it was good that I didn’t push it until I am a little more adapted. Walking today in 10-15 spurts which I will just add up at the end of the night and post all at once. That is a different strategy for me, but I am keeping a close eye on the glucose until I am sure it is stable with my diet. Great round everyone! Even on this snowy day, I am staying motivated!

Looking forward:
I'm just too danged cussed to let this thing knock me back, and ruin all the effort I have put in to get here. I am stepping up my routine, and taking control. Sheltering in place means I can fully concentrate on getting in my exercise, and preparing healthy food.
- April: focus on maintaining and increasing my progress
- 2020: Goal is to stabilise weight around 145
- Strengthen strategies to reframe the tendency to use unhealthy snack food as a reward/treat.
- Make sure I have prepared healthy snacks available
- Cut down on eating between meals
Never give up! Never give in!
Back Story:2018 goal: get back down to 160 ✅2020
2019 goal: proceed down to 150 ✅ with 2 months to spare
2020 goal: maintain below 150 dropping slowly down to 145 ✅ So far, so good.
That's a WIN in my book!
Focus: maintenance! I might even manage to lose a bit more ever so slowly.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

Public Service Announcement:
Stay vigilant about precautions to slow and stop this pandemic. Don't let revised optimistic projections confuse you.
We are far from returning to normal. Breaching mitigating behaviors too soon after the anticipated "peak" can result in an even worse resurgence of this pandemic.
Please protect yourselves, loved ones, all of humanity.

I ended Round109 at 173.2lbs vs having reached 166.6lbs before I went offline for a bit. Having made made no serious effort to reach my goals, I achieved the results I worked for.
This is try again time. My goals remain the same.
- get down to165lbs or less and
- complete 1 full hr of exercise each day
04/07. 173.4lbs
04/08. No weigh in today
I'm still bloated with edema because I've been exclusively consuming easy ready eat high carb & high calorie foods.
This is why normally I do not keep these items in the house. Thankfully I am forced to eat better because all I have left is nutritious foods that I must cook.
I'm a total scatter brain right now for all the obvious reasons.
Every few hours I have to talk myself down. Intellectually I know poor decisions in my own life, even if it's just my mini goals, can only hurt me. If ever I've needed to value my health and we'll being it is right now.
This is not the time to slack off. I need to face this new reality with strength. Suck it up. Do what's needed. Be grateful I have the option to pout and snap out of it.
04/09. I have to weigh in later & record it tomorrow.
Today I'm back on time restricted low carb eating; recording my food; & getting things done including exercise. I'm also considering giving in to a water pill to rid myself of this edema.
It's what I get for my dietary sins. Several days of good behavior will fix the problem but I'd prefer a more accurate weight sooner than later.
04/10
04/11
04/12. 172.4
I refuse to enter this weight gain in my "official record". It's been years since I've retained water like this. It's also been years since I've eaten the way I have over the last two weeks. Of course I'm up by six. Foolish eating and too little water will do that to me.
I've decided to avoid diuretics in hope that I'll lose the edema by doing right by myself. Plain water is back as my main beverage. My calories are under control but my carbs are not. Although within my maintenance range, carbs are too high for fat loss.
Time to do some strategic planning. Wing'n it just won't cut it.
04/13. 171.4lbs
04/14
04/15
04/16. 172.2lbs
I've pretty much missed another round. My daily weigh in has been sporadic as has been recording my diet. I'm back in my "normal" jeans but high sugar, low nutrition in place of real food has turned my muffin top into a full bread basket.
High carb makes for high cal making the last few days a low portion binge. I've mastered the low cal full belly and the high cal comfortable portion binge. This is what happens when I stray from this diet for life. I prepped to my plan then neglected to follow it.
The last two days were better. I halted my low cal binge & I'm not going out for easily digestible high cal foods. That would be irresponsible.
I haven't done much reading this round but I'll catch you all in the next. Same goals for me once again! 🙂

I had a bad week due to TOM, so I’m hoping not giving into cravings will help in this round. Good luck everyone!

04/07: 178.2 (A nice 2 lb loss to start the round! I ate to plan and did another workout. My husband took a full body picture of me preworkout and I posted it on Instagram. I got a lot of comments saying how good I look and people asked me how I lost all the weight so far. It feels good to get that recognition!)
04/08: 177.4 (Yes, please go down! I’m happy to see this number. The hope is that by Friday I’ll have a brand new low. I had food to plan and did another hour long workout!)
04/09: 176.2 (I’m so close to my lowest weight! Just 0.2 pounds left I can basically see it. I did another YouTube workout last night and danced to Ariana Grande songs. I made a yummy Passover dinner last night that included a delicious garlic butter ribeye steak. It was a bit of an indulgence but necessary for a holiday!)
04/10: 176.0 (I finally got to the weight I was after being hospitalized at the end of September! It’s taken me 6 months but all that hard work finally paid off! I had a grilled cheese and chicken rice soup for dinner and did my last workout until Sunday!)
04/11: 178.8 (I knew I would gain because of ovulation! I definitely had 2 slices of pizza last night that did not help either. Oh and I didn’t workout so I was not at a deficit, but it’s okay and expected!)
04/12: 180.4 (I’m not surprised by this gain! I’m kind of hoping these 180’s will not show up on my scale ever again. I can only hope. Starting on Monday, I’m going to try to introduce some other workouts into my routine. My gym offers workouts from home so I’m excited to try it out!)
04/13: 178.6 (That’s a nice drop! I stopped the snacking that I had extra calories for and did another dance workout so I had a nice deficit. I’m hoping for a brand new low this week!)
04/14: 177.2
04/15: 177.4 (I am extremely sore from a new workout I did. I think I’ll go back to just dancing 😅 I burn a lot, have tons of fun and don’t cuss out the instructor on TV! Ate to plan as well!)
04/16: 176.8 (I’m glad I have a low this round. I finally let go of a bit of water retention from my soreness. I made an amazing chili for dinner last night and did a workout.)
Total loss this round: -3.4 lbs

04/07 - 354.1 - Looks like I might've broken thru that plateau I've been stuck on. Drank lots more water yesterday and it seems to have helped. No matter, onward and downward! Everyone stay safe!
04/08 - 354.5 - minor uptick. My losses have definitely slowed. But sticking to the program WILL get me there. But I now understand why so many get so discouraged when this happens. You put in the work, but don't get the results... temporarily. Everyone stay safe!!
04/09 - 353.4 - And down we go again. I think I'm thru this plateau/sticking point finally. Went for a walk this morning and then motivated myself with DDPYoga a bit later. And I still have a little bit of shopping and another walk tonite.
04/10 - 353.4 - My whole schedule was off today. I'll chalk the day up to being off on everything and call this my *pass* day.
04/11 - 353.6 - Virtually no change. I'm staying w/ the plan, though. Forward and, hopefully, downard. Stay the course.
04/12 - 353.3 - And a little drop again. I'd much prefer a steady, slow drop, but I'll get there.
04/13 - 354.4 - With the rain, we couldn't walk this morning. Hopefully, it'll clear up later. Also found myself doing some absent-minded eating last night. Promptly moved those snacks back to the kitchen. Focus and consistency.
04/14 - 354.8 - Been going up a bit. Might be a residual from before, but I'm sure it's just a blip.
04/15 - 353.2 - I had been doing some accidental cheating, not thinking it would matter much. As soon as I realize it and go back, I drop again. In autophagy, even little things can get you out of it.
04/16 - 351.9 - Somehow, some way, FINALLY made it to the MAGIC 50 lb. loss mark. That's the really good news. The bad... a position/job that I was guaranteed completed their background check and I passed. I just got the call and also that they were suspending all new hiring because of COVID19. So a job that I thought I'd be starting in the next week or two is gone.
👍🏼👍🏼 This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE. 👍🏼👍🏼

@kecward78 - so sorry to hear you bad news about the job, I sympathise and realise you must be gutted, you were almost there!! Sending you comiserating hugs.
Well done on 50lbs lose, you've done so well, please don't let the job set back pull you down from your success, I'm sure you will get that dream job that you deserve, just that it will take a little longer.6 -
Thanks guys for all my birthday wishes, once this challenging time is all over, I will let you know how I celebrate my birthday, but for now, my husband cooked me an amazing steak on the bbq, accompanied by a huge salad and of course it was washed down with some bubbly - all logged and within calories!!!5

Round 110 - April 7 to 16
Female, 5’, 67 years. SW – 165.8 GW – 164, UGW – 140.
Goals: continue with 12 hr. IF, complete my tracking every day and get some kind of outdoor exercise unless it is raining. Did not do well on the exercise the last couple of rounds and it shows – a steady creep up. Reminded by Tish’s video on breathing how important drinking water is. So this round I’m planning to work much harder on the exercise and drinking water.
Can’t control much else but this is a battle I can win – as someone wrote.
Day/Weight/Comment
04/07 -165.8 – Slept in so didn’t log.
04/08 – 165.8 –
04/09 – 165.6 – IF 12 hrs., tracked everything including water and was good, even with some ice cream. Beautiful day so spent ½ hr. cleaning up perennials in the yard.
04/10 – 165.6 – Made Easter bread but didn’t start till after lunch and it rises 3 times so had a slice mid-evening but was careful to make a light supper and no dessert/fruit. My bread has a lighter icing (has custard in it) but still icing sugar so not a great choice, even if within cals. Made DH happy though. Just have to be careful not to eat too much of it. Making pea soup today for some healthy fibre.
04/11 – 166 – Not sure if this is extra salt from the soup or extra bread – maybe both. Making rye today and leave the Easter bread for DH. I used to make most of my own bread but for many years now would just make it occasionally. Now I am trying to use up home-ground flour (they grew the rye and wheat and ground it for me) from my daughter. It doesn’t keep like the commercial stuff but tastes wonderful.
04/12 – 166.2
04/13 - 166
04/14 – 166 – Not a great weekend foodwise – too much Easter bread and icing. Made 2 batches of bread on Sat. and if I can get in another batch of rye this week will have finished with that flour + have bread for a couple of months. After sitting around all Sunday, yesterday I got outside for some gardening and did 20 min. stretches and abs exercise inside. Tracked all, stayed on plan and 12 hr. IF. Now if I can just stick with that all week!
04/15 – 166.4 – I think this is the weekend still paying me back. Not a lot of exercise yesterday as it was raining out but did do about 15 min. inside. IF, yes, but did not track. Rain & snow this morning but now the sun is out so maybe a walk this afternoon.
04/16 – 166.4 – Pretty good yesterday though I did eat some graham crackers in the evening. Did get outside for a bit, when it got nicer, in spite of snow in the morning and did 20 min. exercise inside. I didn’t get a whole lot accomplished yesterday so changed up my routine and so far so good today. See you all next round.7 -

I' m in! Thank you, @GrandmaJackie!
70 year old female...5'5" ...I used to be 5'7" but arthritis hit and I lost two inches, so now that two inches is squished around my waist like the billows of a big accordion... ...Oh, well. I'll just keep working on it.
We used to walk 5 miles a day. A pinched nerve and back surgery side-lined me for about a year. Then I had back surgery. Then I had hip surgery March 10th. Recovery is slow. Sure do want to be back walking!
The Shelter in Place has everyone freaked. We need to remain calm and respectful of each other.

Decided that while working from home means more access to food and less steps, at least I am not tempted to get fast food meals on my long drive home from work. Using smaller plates and bowls for meals. Trying to nix the snacking in between. Under 200 three days this round. Happy for that.
See everyone in the next round.7 -
