And another thing.... just five minutes ago, the doorbell rang.

It was a door to door salesman.

What kind of moron goes door to door during a quarantine?

    Social distancing. Not quarantine.

And the kind who’s casing the joint

    We're in lockdown here.

But who can social distance when standing at the threshold of a doorway.

Thankfully, I exited thru the adjacent french doors and talked to him from 20 feet away.

And yeah, the thought crossed my mind that he was casing the neighborhood.
I hope he goes to Todd's house. Todd has a lot of guns and is looking for an excuse to use them.
“They” are avoiding the term quarantine except when it refers to someone who is actually ill.

    And go Todd

    okay, got it... makes sense

we are in a voluntary lockdown with 27 Covid-19 cases (known) in our zip code.

    and yeah, Todd is great.

Todd told me: "I've got lots of both toilet paper and hand guns.... if you need either one, just ask."

we are in a voluntary lockdown

Same but the wording is getting shadier as to exactly how voluntary it is. Our governor, Andrew Cuomo, is leaving it up to local law enforcement to make sure everyone abides by the voluntary self-isolation. They are allowed to stop and ask why you are out of your house and to instruct you to wear a mask.

I was wondering the same with those delivering food. How is that done by maintaining 6' distance?

And, I wonder if delivery people are having the same number of CV diagnoses as supermarket employees?

In my bldg, there are no doorbells or intercoms. You don't know if someone is at the door unless they phone you to come to the entryway to let them in & then what? Tell them to leave the pizza box on my car or the ground & then I Tom Brady money at them?

One of my bunnies started hacking and foaming spit everywhere this morning so we called around to Three different vets and two were in surgery and one was off. So we start driving to one about 30 minutes away that wasn't picking up and I finally get a hold on them and their exotics vet is off today too! They still had someone else look at him though. We got x-rays done and turns out he's full of *kitten*! He's really constipated which is of no shock because we knew he'd go out this way. He eats EVERYTHING, sometimes even meat. So they injected him with water and gave him some meds and we have to see if he poops in the next 24 hrs. 🐰

I hope the little guy is OK.

It's not that strict here, but we don't have the number of cases like NY and NJ either.

i mostly just wonder why the news anchors still have perfect hair and makeup and clothing.

seems like that'd be hard to make happen perfectly.
    yknow, every night.
weeks into all this quarantining and restricting.
    totally all on your own.
    without breaking social distancing.

not to mention all the construction projects that are still ongoing.
really happy my city was able to get a whole crew out there the last two weeks to repaint those road stripes on the main drag. that was a big concern of mine personally.

Yeah, one of the problems, as I see it, is lumping rural New York State in with NYC. We are over 300 miles away. My entire county only has 20 confirmed cases. Our population just isn’t that dense, literally speaking.

I have been isolating AND wearing a mask in public for weeks now. VOLUNTARILY. I’d like it to stay that way.
