You probably already speak Spanish...since you are there, so learning a new language isn't one.
Painting, reading, crafts?
Let us know what you come up with : - )5 -
As usual, I am going to try for 16-20 AF days for the month.
My goal used to be 8AF days per month, I am pretty happy to try to cruise between 16-20 so as not to put too much pressure on myself. If I get more that is just gravy.
I managed 22AF days somehow in April!!
Thanks @MissMay for keeping us going : - )
Friday May 01 - AF - I had to do the 6 minute wait a few times to get there. Planned drinks tomorrow.
Saturday May 02 - 3 drinks
Sunday May 03 - AF
Monday May 04 - AF - Planning on stringing a few AF days together, I have Webinars this week which I want to be sharp for. My Mint is coming up, so it is only about a month away or less for Mojito season so I will take as many AF days as I can right now so that I can do that a few times with a girlfriend or two staying 6 feet away from each other : - )
Tuesday May 05 - AF - I kind of lost track of what day it was until I typed the date in just now! I have been laid off for just over a month now, and I am starting to wonder how I ever had time to go to work. Obviously Cinquo de Mayo, I might celebrate on Thursday night instead with some Skinny Girl Margarita that I have in the fridge and Nachos or something. I needed to be AF today and tomorrow to have a sharp brain for my Webinars.
Wednesday May 06 - AF - If I didn't have "stuff" in the morning tomorrow I would have caved and had some drinks today. Cold, rainy, couldn't go for a walk or play with any of my outdoor projects.
Thursday May 07 - 3 drinks - Started with a Spiced Rum and Bailey's, so nice on a cold rainy late afternoon, the same weather as yesterday which kind of got me down since it prevented me from doing some outdoor projects that I was looking forward to. I am cutting back from alcohol expressly for weight loss reasons. My sister who is 10 years my senior had only 2 drinks days for the month of April and is 30 pounds lighter than me, has me inspired. Not saying that I will have only 2 drinks days in the month, but I am cognizant of the fact that alcohol is not good for the waistline. No regrets on my drinks today, they were lovely, but I want to keep those days infrequent.
Friday May 08 - AF - I really felt like having drinks today after going hard in the yard, but I was up 3 pounds this morning from having drinks last night.

6 AF/8 days. AF yesterday. Hitting the road early and going to the high country where the elk and deer roam to get some hiking hours in and get well oxygenated. Then get take out from a local thai place there. This is my nirvana.....
@morrisjen2014 : can you do volunteer teaching, teaching a local English conversation and finding interested students through a church organization? I am teaching a Spanish-speaking friend English for free via Skype and it's total fun. Or learning craft-making from a local (or you tube)?6 -

Saturday May 09 - Drinks. Did the 6-minute delay thing twice and then basically just said *kitten* it. I have my moments where I am like: "180 days sacrificing all of the things that I like to lose only 3 pounds? So not worth it, life is too short." So that was where I was at today. Had some Port Salut with a piccolo of champagne to start. Liked it. Maybe I will have better resolve tomorrow. Not sure. Limiting my calories, working out like a fiend, limiting alcohol, to still get measly results. I guess that I gave up a little bit today. I will try again tomorrow.

9/9 days AF. Feeling good and no cravings so far this month. Truly a weird but welcome feeling.8

Day #9 check-in: 2 cans of sparkling whatevah'. Could have been better, but considering how frustrated I've been w/ DH lately, it could have been a whole lot worse. AF 2/9.5

Weekend has been dry so far. Brunch at 10 and mimosas will be flowing. This will be a challenge but I don’t WANT to drink.

Honestly, glad today is over. Holidays stress me out so much.
Hope everyone is having a great Mother’s Day!!!!11 -

Two cans of 10% brut bubbles. AF 2/10.5

8 days AF/10 days...we took a chance and had my daughter over with her boyfriend for lunch. They announced they put an offer on a house and moving in. Panic button went off. It's way too expensive and not the right time and not near me and I'm trying not to freak out. I even skipped dinner which is very rare for me. I so lucked out not having wine in the house...
I need to stay chill this week and just worry about me....lol7 -

I love this so very much!!!!2 -
@globalhiker ...Yep..What the *kitten* is up with our children ?? We teach them, nurture them, guide them, and STILL they grow up and go off to do what they think is best for themselves.
When I was most frustrated with my tweens and teens, I would say [laughing] "May your children do to you........" And they have.
Hey, @morrisjen2014 ....There are some unique musical instruments down where you are. Maybe learn to play one or two ??
Keep a "quarantine diary" for your friends or future family. "What did YOU do in the war, Daddy ??" kind of thing.
May was AF til after Cinco de Mayo, but since then it's been one wee glass after another. Nothing to feel sorry or ashamed about, but, not stringing together AF days.
Eldest Daughter & I have a plan, beginning next Wednesday. It involves lobster and walking...stay tuned.

11 May check-in: 2 more cans of 10% brut bubbles. Can't seem to get off this plateau. 375ml X 2 at 10% ABV = 4.2 standard alcohol equivalents (NIAAA calculator). Hmmm, sounds like a lot when you put it that way. Of course, I used to drink a bottle (750ml) of 14% Chardonnay which = 5.8 alcohol equivalents. So maybe I am making progress.
@whitpauly: congrats on going back to work! Clapping hands
@globalhiker: you are a better woman than I am. I would have skipped dinner, but not having wine in the house would have just meant I had to go out and get some. That said, the kids really will be OK. And so will you.
Namaste
