Here in the Southern Hemisphere we are heading towards Winter, and the shorter days and cooler weather have definitely been affecting my motivation levels and behaviour. I've been slipping on things I thought I had bedded down, not getting as much exercise as usual, being less productive, not going to bed on time, wasting too much time on FB, etc. It's going to be harder over the next four months! But I am still maintaining, so that is a good thing.2 -

I had lowered my calorie goal some and the scale is looking better but it is too early to tell if the lower calorie goal brings me to a losing mode or a maintaining mode. I'll stay with what I did last week for a couple more weeks. I had not had to tried to lose for years so worried that I wouldn't remembered how. But I'm getting it. I tell myself that I don't want to have to shop for bigger clothes and I don't want this losing period to go on for months. That seems to keep me motivated.2 -

Hi! My name is Kristen. And I struggle to maintain my weight. I have had great success losing/gaining, but I'm hoping this group helps me be more accountable. I weigh only 1x week on Sundays, so that's when I'll check in. My 2 goals in 2020 are to not let the scale go above 153 and weigh in EVERY Sunday for the WHOLE YEAR. This seems easy to most, but I get lazy and make excuses why I don't need to weigh in and then all of a sudden everything in my closet has shrunk. LOL

Successes/Struggles: Our State of Ohio is starting to slowly open up, but we are still hunkering down. We know the virus is still out there and realize once people start gathering again it will just fuel the fire. But I could really use a hair cut, which are due to start opening May 15th. May have to bite the bullet, go in masked and hand sanitizer ready. I don't have to report back to the office for at least another month.
I'm slowly trending up with my weight but still lower than I want to be. Our weather this week was more like winter (it got to 28F Saturday morning!) than May and this week looks very rainy but at least warmer.

Successes: Mobility has increased and pain has decreased to the point that running has been happening again.

Success of the week: I am still in my maintenance range, and my average weight might just finally be moderating back down to the middle or lower end of the range. Not today; still bouncing off the top of the range, but down a half pound from last week.
Struggle of the week: I'm still on the wrong end of my maintenance range. I still feel good, so maybe I should adjust the goal.

Working at the hospital is still a bit stressful, still isolating myself from my family to protect them, and my dad is in the ICU in another state and I have been unable to visit him due to restrictions. Given his condition and baseline advancing dementia, we will likely be withdrawing life-sustaining care this coming week, and at least at that point I will be able to be with him.
Food-wise, I have been burning through banked calories by stress eating on junk. While my weekly balance is okay, it's not ideal from a health perspective; however, I recognize that upcoming travel and events will continue to make eating well more difficult. I'm still beneath my range and can tolerate gaining a little. I've put in runs nearly every day this week, and (with an appropriate level of skepticism) had a new VO2 max according to my Garmin.

Challenges/ Successes:
Last week was good - I gave myself a boot up the backside in some of the spots I'd been slipping the week before, to renew my motivation, and I exercised every day of the week, listened to my body about eating, was highly productive, did pretty well (though not perfect!).
This week ahead is a bit more challenging. My daughter is meant to be back at school in person from today, but health & behaviour related issues mean a history in poor attendance even before COVID crisis, and it was kind of nice for the past 6 weeks not having to try to get her to school (fewer battles! less stress!). Today I've had to face up to the issue again, failed to be able to get her to school, it's not something I can solve, and it sucks, makes me feel powerless, stressed, etc. Nothing saps motivation like feeling powerless and stressed!
So I will do more stress management this week, and try to concentrate on what is within my control, try not to worry too much about the rest of it.5 -

Successes/struggles: The weight on the scale was a surprise this morning – it’s been 49.3 kg for the last 5 days and I have no explanation for the little jump this morning. However, it’s not a bad thing, I have been worried that I’m getting a bit obsessed about diet and exercise over these last few weeks. We have missed two holidays just in the last three months – we should have been away last week – which would have been a break from the routines. Our PM has announced some relaxation to the lockdown rules but it will make very little difference to me. I might be able to meet “one person who is not part of your household” "outside" for a brief visit. I don’t have work to go to and “exercising as much as you want” is not going to make much difference to me.
On a positive note – we have booked a holiday for next May! Surely we can hope that that will go ahead.

As for me, I have been trying to lose the 2 lbs. gained in the first few weeks of lockdown. Two weeks ago, I finally decided to lower my calorie goal. I had to do a lot of convincing myself to do it but did it and it is working. My "official" weigh-in day is Monday and I am down 1 1/2 lbs. This is the first time in years that I had to make such an effort to lose so I'm pretty proud of myself. Next week will be the week!3 -

Ah Ben, so much for you to worry about and take care of, and with the special sorrow of a faltering parent... thinking of you and wishing you well. Sounds like you have a lot of grit and determination to help see you through all this.

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: A big jump up in my weight this week, though that's likely a combination of TOM as well as eating high-sodium takeout meals for several days. In terms of workouts, I am seeing a bit of progress with pullups/chinups, but not much else, as I'm still lacking in motivation. Though, a little progress in one area still counts as progress.5 -
Hi! My name is Kristen. And I struggle to maintain my weight. I have had great success losing/gaining, but I'm hoping this group helps me be more accountable. I weigh only 1x week on Sundays, so that's when I'll check in. My 2 goals in 2020 are to not let the scale go above 153 and weigh in EVERY Sunday for the WHOLE YEAR. This seems easy to most, but I get lazy and make excuses why I don't need to weigh in and then all of a sudden everything in my closet has shrunk. LOL

Got a hair cut yesterday, feel much better now! Yet the whole re-opening makes me wonder if the general public will go nuts and we'll all be back to where we were in mid-March again.

Successes: Garmin is finally saying I’m back at baseline! Feeling really good
Struggles: had a scary allergic reaction on my forehead that I’ve never had before. Urgent care wouldn’t see me, so i had to go to the ER. Prednisone and Benadryl and a few days rest (slept for over 13 hours which was kind of nice ) and I’m back in business

Successes: Maintaining more easily. Not eating out is the key for me. Exercising significantly. Tracking all. Spending less time on all my diet apps now that I’m maintaining more confidently, and developing my other interests, took on part-time job.
Struggles: Sometimes I feel fat, but I’m not. Hopefully, time will help with this.2
