☀️Hello, ladies! Happy June!!!☀️
☀️Summer is here! How did that happen so fast???
☀️What are your goals for June? How about the summer as a whole? While some of the normal things on our Summer To Do List might be out the window, what are you looking forward to over the next three months? And is there anything you're particularly concerned with regarding your weight loss journey this summer?
💛 If you've never been here before, please know you are welcome to join at any point in the month. All you have to do is post something, and then BAM!, you're one of us.
💛 In this group, we post our weekly and monthly goals and provide support and motivation to each other as we share our triumphs and our struggles. This group is all about accountability.
💛All are welcome and, if you think you belong here, you do! No matter how much you currently weigh or how you measure (or don't measure) your weight, we'd love to hear from you.
💛 Victories, both scale and non-scale, are great to hear about, but, conversely, we know that weight loss isn't all sunshine and roses. If you're going through a rough patch, please feel free to be honest and vent your heart out. The struggle is real and we're all here to support each other!
☀️Let's shoot for moon this month. Dream big! Work hard! We can do it!

Goals! For June!
We're going back to basics over here.
☀️ Calorie deficit every day.
☀️ Log accurately
☀️ Exercise in some form every day
This will get me there. Other things that have become habits that don't need goals are things like being kind to myself, drinking enough water, and treating myself with things other than food.
Things that aren't goals but need work:
💛 Finding out what my ideal eating schedule looks like
💛 Not eating off the baby's plate while I feed her 😂
June is looking much like other months have looked, but even if I have control over nothing else, I do have control over this. I can change the way I look and feel.
Have a great June, everyone! ☀️☀️☀️24 -

I lost 10lbs last month by radically changing my eating habits and learning to cook healthier foods. This month, I'm planning to step up my exercise game and get three to four sessions in per week. I'm going to keep cooking healthy and while I don't have a set weight loss goal for the month, I'm hoping for at least 7lbs.
Goals for the first week of June:
☀️Eat at/below my calorie goal and log all food
☀️Make good choices at a work event on Friday
☀️Hike twice
☀️Strength training twice
What I'm excited about: work friends and I tentatively planned out a holiday for the first week of August. This is helping me stay motivated to keep my nose to the grindstone and to push myself for the next eight weeks.
What I'm a little worried about: it might get cancelled due to corona. However, I'm not too concerned. It's still a solid timeline to work towards, and there's nothing I can do either way except work on myself.
Let's have happy and healthy June, ladies!

Clean 30 min per day: house or yard or declutter

This week I really need to focus on getting back to better habits; more healthy eating, no junk or candy, drinking 8+ water - trying for 10, getting in all my exercise. May was such a screwed up mess so want to start June with positive attitude and taking positive steps that will help me achieve my goals.16 -

Hi everyone! Thank you again to @RavenStCloud for setting up this thread again for June! It has really helped me to have a group to follow along with and share the journey with!
Work continues to be physically demanding, so I expect to have another good loss for this month. My goal for June is to get into the 220's! This will be a weight range that I haven't been in for a good five years I'd say! My goal for this coming week specifically is to get to 234 which will be 20 lbs total down from my highest weight.
I am starting to see a change in my appearance in the mirror and in the fit of my clothes which is very encouraging. I'm hopefully going home to visit my family out of state on July 1st, and I think they will notice a difference also!
Looking forward to a great month with you all!

Good Morning,

Height: 5' 9.5"
Starting weight: 255 lbs
CW: 245
1st goal weight: 200lbs by July 30th
2nd goal weight: 170 lbs by Nov 6th
June goal weight 220
My goal this week is to maintain working out on my treadmill for an hour a day and swimming with my kids for more than an hour a day. Drinking 8-10 glasses of water a day, no soda, and entering all my calories everyday. The hardest goal for me will be staying positive and not emotionally eating.
My motivation for July 30th: my husband and I have a trip planned for Jamaica for our 5 year anniversary, his 45th birthday, and my 40th birthday.
I have lost all this weight before...and know I can do it, I just need to hold myself accountable....hopefully all the positive posts will help me stay motivated🙂14 -
Congratulations to all you ladies on your way down. I can't seem to get in the groove again. I know what to do and what works for me but knowing and doing have escaped me at present. Keep up the good work.14

@RavenStCloud, thanks for creating this space for us, Raven! So appreciated. Like @CupcakeCrusoe, I am going to steak the emojis! I need some positivity right now.
May end weight: 241
June goal weight: anything below 241
I find placing a goal of below 241 just helps me not beat myself up if I’m not hitting the exact number I want. Another one of @CupcakeCrusoe ideas that I borrowed.
☀️ log ALL food accurately and honestly
☀️ go back to measuring portions (possibly look into a good scale)
☀️ exercise for a minimum of 30 minutes 4x per week
I gained some weight in May, but I’m honestly not surprised. It was a difficult month for me, I’m feeling a lot more balanced so I’m hoping to go into June focused and ready.

Starting weight: 312 (4/15/20)

First mini-goal: 270 (no longer morbidly obese), maybe an end-of-August goal?
End goal: 160
Yesterday I had planned to have cake, chips, etc. as we celebrated my son's graduation. The cake tasted so intensely sweet and the chips so salty! I indulged, but felt ready to go right back into my careful eating today. It does not feel good to eat recreationally anymore. My goal this week is to get out and walk more with the dog so that on my Saturday weigh-in, I will not still be carrying the result of yesterday's indulgence. Lots of water, also, to flush out the sodium from the bbq potato chips! Here's to a healthy and productive June!!

Weekly exercise goals:
- exercise bike 5 times per week
- short walking videos or treadmill twice a day 5 times per week
- strength training (including core specific exercises) 2 times per week
- chair yoga 4 times per week
As I mentioned on Wednesday, I'm starting to eat back my exercise bike calories. This will slow down my loss a bit but right now I want to see if I can more accurately calculate the calories I need. I have been losing slightly more than projected, which really isn't a problem at my current weight. However, I'd like to try to fine tune things now while I'm losing so I can feel confident about my calories in and out for when (not if! ) I get closer to maintenance. I'm okay with my loss slowing down as I fine tune my calories and try to get my projected and actual losses a bit closer.
As always, a big thank you @RavenStCloud for continuing to set up the new monthly threads.
Hope everyone has a wonderful June!12 -
Looking forward to getting back into the swing of things this June. 🐝Through all of this I've realized how much I rely on my routine. Outside of work I didn't realize how much time I spent outside of the house until I couldn't leave anymore! I'm an ICU nurse and they turned my unit into the Covid unit. Policies and procedures changed daily and work was just really uncertain. Fortunately, it wasn't as bad in my area as we had thought. We still aren't back to normal, but trying to move that way.
I took a break from logging and being active in this group because I didn't know what the future held and I didn't want to add more stress to losing weight. I think trying to hold onto something "normal" may have been more helpful, but it was a learning experience. I weighed throughout April and had maintained. Looks like now I'm holding onto some water weight and on my period. My gym is back open, but I had to change trainers because his hours were cut short. The weather here is nice and it feels great to have life go back to a little more normal. Excited to see your progress this month ladies!
@RavenStCloud Thank you for this group. 💞
@torihudson6 A food scale has been very helpful for me. I would recommend a digital one that has different forms of measurement (ounces, grams, ect). I think mine was like $20 from Amazon. Previously I bought a simple cheap one that was a just a cup and scale with ounces. It worked but I really like the accuracy of my digital scale.10 -
Hello everyone! Been lurking since I got back on the wagon 2 weeks ago, but have waited for a new month to post.
I previously lost 110lbs after being overweight most of my life, and kept it off successfully for 10 years. However baby number 2 has now left me almost back at square 1 with 100lbs to lose again!
I’ve realised I’m likely going to need to log calories for the rest of my life, which is a little daunting.
I find it relatively easy to control my weight if I’m counting, I found the loss first time round surprisingly quick and pain free (famous last words!) but clearly just a year of not logging calories combined with a newfound habitual laziness is enough to make me balloon back to my previous size in record speed!
I also need to move more - the first week my average step count was only 1800 a day! I’m up to over 4000 average over the last week, but I really need to improve still. New walking boots and trainers arriving tomorrow though! I’ve found I have been avoiding going on walks because my shoes have been rubbing terribly, and have finally nullified the excuse.
Height - 5’4
SW (17th May) - 233lbs
CW (31st May) - 224lbs
End of month GW - 216lbs
UGW - 130lbs
This months aims:
❤️ Average daily kcal under 1200 over the month
❤️ Continue logging accurately every day
❤️ Have my daily step count up to 10,000 by the end of the month
I’m also doing a mini challenge with some MFP friends to avoid refined sugar Mon-Fri next week, so I’ll add that here too!
If I don’t feel too dreadful, I may make this a regular weekday thing.
9 -
I should probably also add finishing off the home gym to the list too!
It’s coming along and could be at least usable very quickly, however I’m prone to procrastination and the kids mean I have to work on it when I have spare time, rather than just collapsing on the sofa.
Having it as a goal should give me a push if it’s nearing the end of the month and it still isn’t done.7 -
It's June! Where is this year going gosh.
Last month's goal was 179, and I failed. Briefly hit 180 before popping up to 183 and getting stuck, likely due to high stress and poor sleep.
I'm on vacation for 2 weeks starting Friday though so I'm still gonna aim for 175 for June. Should be easier to rest, move and eat well at home, away from office donuts.
Gonna fight to get my steps back up to 3000 daily too. With everything, I've barely been making 1500 lately, gotta do better.12 -

June Goal weight: 246 This is 5 lbs lower than my lowest May weight but I will be happy losing 4 lbs.
My May Goals are:
1. Continue to Get enough sleep and improve water intake
2. Continue to Log weight, food and exercise and stay under calorie goal
3. Get some exercise 6 days a week and up NEAT by cleaning. Try to exceed 150 min. of exercise/ week
4. Get into the 240s
5. Continue to make healthy meals at home.
Thoughts on Summer:
I have been working on training for a migration to an update in our software at work although I am currently on a temporary furlough. I have a chapter almost every weekday so I should complete this on Tuesday this week. On Thursday I realized I had almost achieved this goal and decided to have some quiet time thinking about the month ahead.
Instead I realized I haven’t worked for 3 months although only been on the furlough for 1 and a half months. This was sort of mind blowing to me. I love my job but I haven’t really missed it that much. I needed a break and time to think about my personal goals. However this pandemic also demands its own toll. We have been working towards getting ready for retirement in the next 3-5 years. My employer has opened up the money making side of things but is waiting to open up the service/government side until they see how much funding there will be. So it is quite possible I could be called back to work sometime this month or early next month which means I should really decide on what my focus is in the next weeks or month. I think it has to be my health which means weight loss and getting stronger.
Here are things I have been thinking of:
• Decluttering and cleaning which is related to the NEAT goal above.
• Sunlight - My son has been looking into the benefits of getting enough sunlight. He has had to deal with some skin issues but it turns out getting 15 minutes of sun helps our heart and other issues. I try to do my weight training/exercise routine weekly outside and of course walks. However I want to look at the links he sent me.
• Gardening which may be related to the idea above and the NEAT goal. I don’t really just want to stand in the sun although I love that my son calls me when he has his sun time. I guess I could sit and meditate.
I should maybe think of this as a combined focus of home improvement including decluttering, cleaning and yard work and get most of my exercise outside and use gardening as another way of getting sun more days.
My family has a camping trip planned but the question is can it be done safely with the pandemic. There are too many of us and we only have 1 campsite and 2 yurts reserved. I think it is possible if we figure out how to do this.9 -

Hi all!
Let's see, where to begin . . . . Started out on MFP several years ago. Got lost along why way due to some MAJOR medical issues. I'm now back to making myself accountable to move forward and finally get my life in order. First step was making sure I logged in every to do my food diary. Second step was to get myself move involved in the message boards so that i can help myself be more accountable as well.

Goals for June:
logging in food every day honestly
do some sort of exercise every day
accept myself for who I am and who I can become through healthy habits.

I'm sitting at 200 and afraid to face the scale... but my goal for September is to try to get back to 185. Or at least by Christmas...
It's so hard in quarantine. You'd think it'd be easier, but here I am grazing all day and staying inside on the couch. Looking to reincorporate walks and figure out some kind of exercise I can do inside. Unfortunately squeaky floors kinda suck...12 -

I'm below 200lbs!! That's a Onederland!! YaY!!! Jumping for Joy in June!!
My goals this month are to work hard daily, at least 30 min of boosted exercise a day and keeping within calorie limit and drinking enough water. I like to keep things simple, works best for me.
Today I can officially start working, but we can't go back to the office until all the bureaucratic admin has been filled in, etc, so we having a zoom meeting to sort that out, but I can take buyers out to view properties so I am excited! Our schools were supposed to open with the two senior grades starting but the unions and a really bad Minister of Education put a stop to that at minute 99, I think all the uncertainty and wavering is the worst thing for our children, teachers, and parents! Our school was ready, they had worked hard to put everything in place. We are all annoyed and disappointed! I really feel for the teachers and learners, they have done well in trying and new circumstances! My nephew is devastated he was supposed to go back today and was so excited!
@RavenStCloud Thanks for our June post, you had a great May, I wish you well with your June goals.
Goodluck to all of you in June! While you are going into your summer months we are heading into Winter (although we are on the coast so it's mild), snow-covered the mountain tops inland last week so it was a shock to the system!

I decided to rededicate myself this month..I need to loose 100+ lbs., I can hardly move around without getting winded and my diet has consisted of way too many carbs. I am a type 2 diabetic not currently on medication although my Dr hasn’t seen me for over 6 months. I will try to lose 2 lbs per week in June, drink 12 cups water daily and get out for a walk each day...even if it’s just around the block.17

Hi, new here but have been tracking consistently since mid April.
I turned 50 during quarantine and I'm 5'6". I had 2 surgeries in 2 months this winter and got up to 244. Quarantine has helped me get back on track, so I need a plan before I return to work. I seem to do better if I don't have to eat on a set schedule.
I have a VR (virtual reality) system and the game Pistol Whip is the most enjoyable way for me to get exercise right now. 🙂

Good morning everyone. So excited for June!!
I have been participating on this thread since October 2019 and it has been key to my success. The past few months I have only maintained but I am excited to start losing again in June. Here is my starting point and habits:
SW: 236.4 (9/8/19)
6/1: 186.8
June goal: 182
June habits:- Intermittent fasting at 8/16
- 8 hours of sleep/night
- Exercise for at least 15 minutes per day; at least 30 minutes 4 days a week
- 128 oz of water
- Accurate logging each day
Thank you @RavenStCloud for giving us a fresh start and such a warm and supportive community each month!11 -

CW: 202.8 lbs

Hello everyone!
May was a really chequered month for me and I'm still bamboozled about it! Obstacles included: a sensitive left knee, a heatwave, the restarting of weekly family outdoor gatherings (complete with food and booze) and a low mood. However, despite all of this most days I was in a 1000-calorie deficit, drank water and kept the sodium low. And yet, for the entire month, the scale hovered within one pound of May's start weight. It was the most frustrating and demotivating experience in weight loss I have ever had and I still have no explanations.
BUT I'M STILL HERE. So this month's goals will completely ignore the scale, and focus instead on my daily/weekly habits:
-Run 3 times per week
-Non high-impact exercise 2 times per week
-30 active minutes daily
-5 servings of fruit and veg 6 days per week
-3L of water per day
-1200-1400 calories eaten per day
This means I can win no matter what nonsensical things happen with my weight or measurements.
Wishing everyone here positive thoughts, strength and all the best for the month ahead!
9 -
Its my birthday month!
Age: 32 (33 next week!)
Height: 5'11"
SW: 300 6/1/20
So I am back at my starting weight. I gained the 15 pounds I lost in Jan/Feb. There is just so much going on, my focus was derailed and the stress eating was very real. I finally feel like I am mentally ready to start again. I'm going to be habit-oriented but will weigh weekly to see progress. I don't have a goal weight for the month though.
Habits
1) Log Food in MFP (extra credit if it stays under 1800, but focusing on the habit of logging regardless of calorie content)
2) Drink Water 128oz water (4 32oz water bottle refills)
3) Meditate (5 min minimum)
4) Exercise 20 min daily (the time will increase to 30 min next week)
5) Cook my own meals Sun-Thur (Fri/Sat I am allowed to eat out but still need to abide by habit #1)
I am using the "Productive" app to keep track of my habits and can report back how I did. Good luck everyone, stay safe out there!
10 -
Hello All! This is my first time participating on this thread. I am very excited. I am starting over, AGAIN. And can use all the inspiration I can get.
Age: 48
Height: 5'8"
SW: 229 (Today)
GW:164
GOALS for this month:
- Move every day
- Log meals/exercise everyday
- Explore more self-care habits like meditation
- Create a better/bigger boundary between work and home
- Drink more water
I am very close to my all time highest weight and honestly I feel awful physically and emotionally. Initial goal is to drop to 200 and get more mobile so I can do more of the things that make me feel happy. For example, I could scramble down from a trail to get to a creek without feeling too tired to do it or worried about getting back up! Though I spent my pre-pregnancy adult life at 140 ish, I set my goal weight at 164 because that is the threshold for my height when I was in the Air Force - somehow that equates to a good "fighting weight" to me. I'll spend this month researching and figuring out some habits I think I need to get me to feeling better. Then in July I'll be 49 and plan a year of me getting into better fitness for the big 5-0. That's the plan anyway.13 -
Well, I stepped on the scale...finally...it wasn't pretty. I have gained almost 10lbs in the last three months! I have realized several reasons, and am owning them.
So new goals for this month, as I turn the big 4-0 in just over a week.
1) Move MUCH more - I am used to walking into and out of work, getting up several times a day and walking, and I am just not doing that while working here at home. I am not going back anytime soon, so I can't keep doing what I am doing and not expect to gain more.
2) Less alcohol. Should be a no brainer that alcohol causes weight gain, especially if you are more sedentary, so my wine needs to be limited to a few time a month. The extra calories aren't worth it.
3) My diet has been better the last week or so, but there is always room for improvement (see goal #2). More veggies, less refined carbs.
4) More water...my 8 cups a day isn't enough. Aiming for 12-16.
Why do I feel like I am starting at square one again? Frustrating and embarrassing, but I am taking it one day at a time.14 -

June Goal weight: 246 This is 5 lbs lower than my lowest May weight but I will be happy losing 4 lbs.
I am reposting this to include my June 1st weight
My focus for today (Day 1/ and Week 1):
I got my sleep now I need lots of water / start each day drinking a glass (12 oz) every hour until I get to close to my water goal.
Do Chapter 9 to migrate to Pro/ complete my training
exercise 15-60 minutes/ every week day
make leg of lamb steaks, yam and asparagus for dinner / cook healthy meals at home
lose one of the lbs I gained this weekend /get down to 250.x this week
I jumped up to my starting weight for May today but that is probably due to take out last night. I still plan to keep my June goal weight of 246. I wanted to get to at least 250 last month so I will put that pound on my June weight goal. I have been hovering around 251.6 so I do not think it really is as many real pounds as it seems. It seems that I am back to my typical weight variation mode again. I had enough water yesterday.
Congratulations @changeforeverlj , Yay Onderland!!
I have enjoyed reading everyone's starting posts.9
