@mmdeveau thanks, yes you're right, i should keep up the habit of tracking even if it's guesswork.
Welcome to all the newbies.1 -
Weigh-in Wednesday:
Seems like June just started, and it did, but here is today's weigh-in:
SW: 236.4 (9/8/19)
5/27: 184.3
6/1: 186.8
6/3: 186.4
June goal: 182
June habits:
☀ Intermittent fasting at 8/16 - More like 10/14, but it's progress
☀ 8 hours of sleep/night - More like 7.25/night
☀ Exercise for at least 15 minutes per day; at least 30 minutes 4 days a week - Nice long walk on Monday but nothing yesterday
☀ 128 oz of water - Average 115 oz/day
☀ Accurate logging each day - I think so
My TOM came a week early; I am hoping it accounts for my gain since last week. I am most definitely in peri-menopause. Ugh.

Welcome all newcomers and hello to those joining again this month! I have been participating in this forum since January, but started lurking in November or December. I find this to be a helpful and supportive group of lovely ladies. I will likely post my goals later tonight, but there are so many posts, I wanted to address first.
I’m delayed because this past Monday I had my tooth extracted. It went as well as it could have, but getting back to my regular routine has been rough. Oh, #29, you will be missed!
OUCH!!! 😬 Hope it heals quickly and painlessly!!3 -
@kayellis3891 Welcome to the thread!
@changeforeverlj sometimes people don’t say anything because some people don’t react well! So they may have noticed! Glad it made you realize your weight loss is about you
@cesse47 looks like a good day of plans! It’s amazing how the little things can keep us active and be so fulfilling. Wishing our farmers market was around!
Been outside a lot more recently! Gardening, walking and riding my bike around! Feels good to be doing something. It makes me lazy time so much better.
Found some Honey Roasted Chipotle peanuts and they are amazing I have to be super careful though or I’ll eat them all!
Breakfast casserole has been my savior this week. I feel so much more full during my workday.5 -
It has been a difficult week here. Protests and riots blocks from where I live (I support the reason for the protests 100%), PMS making me even more emotional about everything, and I had to take my older cat in for an emergency vet visit - he has stage 3 kidney disease and had stopped eating. I haven't logged in a few days and likely won't get back on track completely until everything calms down a bit. Just feeling a bit heart broken about everything right now.11
-
Do you mind if I shoe-horn my way into this group please?
I've been hiding behind closed eyes whilst my weight has crept up. Again. I've done well previously with MFP, and finding 'friends' in the forums, and am hoping to find that again after a 4 yr absence.
CW - 207
GW - 168 (but clearly not just for June, lol)7 -
And the whoosh continues! Down another pound to 261! Where does it end.... lol!
We're going to copy the plans I drew and draw in final placement of the furniture, and that way Boyfriend will know how to place the outlets and where the ethernet outlets need to be. I still need to measure his office furniture, but I need to do it before he goes to work for the day!8 -
A whoosh over here too 😃
Height - 5’4
SW (17th May) - 233lbs
(31st May) - 224lbs
CW (4th June) - 219lbs
End of month GW - 216lbs
May have to lower this months goal!5 -
Oops I started on the 19th not 17th - copy and pasted my original typo 🙈.
So a whole stone in 16 days! That’s insane, I must have been really dehydrated before!5 -
Good morning everyone!
I'm up at 189 the past couple days, 3 lbs up from 5/31. Ouch. Of course, I don't think I've really gained 3 lb, so I'm just going to keep going until the weekend, when I can get some good sleep and when I have historically seen loss (can't wait for getting regular good sleep). And TOM is coming, so there's that that could be doing it.
Have a good Thursday!5 -
I've had a rough week - haven't had any time to work out. Work has been so hectic but I've been walking laps around my office several times a day just to get moving even if only a little bit. Tomorrow is my weigh in day so we'll see how it goes. 🤞9
-
Welcome to all new folks --- Welcome back to those who are returning --- and Good Morning to on-going members of this thread. I love this thread. Very welcoming, Very interactive, Extremely supportive. Kudo's to all of you!!
Hit & Run morning for me. Just want to say Hello then need to get some outside work done before noon and the heat sets in.
Have a great day Y'all. 🌻6 -
Forgot ... I do want to ask for some suggestions. I've been struggling with snacking lately; especially late night snacking. What do you do to get your mind off of snacks and on to something else?
2 -
@cesse47 I read in the evenings and often long for some kind of snack. I reserve some calories to fit in a crunchy snack - nuts, popcorn, carrots, or something similar. I've also heard that when you're yearning for a snack, it helps to drink a full glass of water.4
-
If I want to snack, I do some sewing (the baby now has a LOT of felt play food!) with a big bowl of popcorn. 150 calories of popcorn is a lot of popcorn, and if your hands are busy you can only have a few bits at a time so it lasts all evening!6
-
Been a busy day for me today! Took the dogs on a 30 minute walk, did 30 minutes of yoga and 15 minutes of The Fitness Marshall videos.
So far so good on the food front. Lowered myself with two eggs and a piece of toast for breakfast
And a delicious wrap that was too stuffed to fold!
Tomorrow is weigh in day 🤞
Hope everyone’s doing well today!6 -
@duebedm, that looks like a great list to follow. I try not to give myself too many goals because then I overwhelm myself and quickly lose motivation.
@AlexandraFindsHerself1971, I hope the move is smooth, I know how stressful moving can be.
@legion150,I feel so good when I eat right and exercise too. I slacked the month of May, so I am trying to see June as a fresh start. I gave up my fastfood vice for this month to “reset” myself! I am hoping I follow through.
@mandapandalambda, sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. It is nice to hear you have a kind physician, I read so many stories about doctors shaming patients. Welcome to this lovely group!
@Kelceybyers, we can’t change our pasts, all we can do is look forward. It seems like you’re off to a great start. Welcome!
@ChrystalisCove, welcome! I can relate to sitting at home has made me lethargic, I feel tired even though I have done nothing to make me feel that way. I am hoping to get up and active throughout this month.
@MuttiNM, great loss. Also, hope your parents are doing well! My state warmed up QUICK. It has been so hot these last two weeks that my motivation to go outside has been even lower.
@aliciap0116, I always jump up with my TOM, great work on your goals though!
@Tarzan37, we have had the same situation here, state of emergency for 72 hours which was luckily lifted yesterday as things have turned peaceful again. The world is hard right now, I’ve been struggling as well. It’s hard to find motivation, but all we can do is take it day by day.
@PotatoHead_, welcome! You’re going to find so many friends here.
@Daisyfinch90, great loss!
@CupcakeCrusoe, TOM always seems to throw the numbers off.
@KristenLCook2, that is a good way to get moving, it is so easy to just sit for hours, especially when you’re working.
@cesse47,hope you have a great day, too! I also struggle with late-night snacking and I received some good tips from here. If you have enough calories left for a snack, then do it. Something healthy like carrots, nuts, fruit, or along those lines helps me. Otherwise I drink a big glass of water and let it sit for a while and if I do still feel hungry after that point I have something small. Hope that helps a bit!
@procolorer, looks yummy! And great work getting that movement in.
Hope everyone is doing well! I have been struggling the last few weeks with everything going on in the world, it has been hard. I shut down a bit, but now I feel ready and have some of my focus back. I am struggling HARD with the motivation to work out. My gym is open again, but I do not yet feel comfortable going with COVID cases still rising in my city. I need to find the motivation to workout at home again, I was on a roll and then I just kind of fell off.
Anyone have anything special they do when they're struggling?9 -
I read something a while ago that said, whatever you think you need to do, have a glass of water. It was just a silly little thing, like "lost your glasses? Have some water, want something crunchy? Have some water" but I do find it is helpful to me when I am craving something.
Something posted in my gym is a wee little sign, "when you feel like quitting, remember why you started." And that sign helps me in both my fitness journey as well as my work.
I dont weigh in until Sundays, but I've been tracking everything all week and eating at or below my calories so I'm hoping to see a little change this week.11 -
Welcome to all the newcomers! I have read all of your posts and goals.
@MuttiNM already making progress!
@Cupcakecrusoe I am in the same boat as to a gain that doesn’t make sense that I expect to be gone soon. It is slowly.
@torihudson6 I am glad you are being careful with opening up. All of the stats are down in or County but we haven’t been cleared for phase 2 which is the 1st level of opening up. Testing is up but not enough. I still am glad they aren’t opening up here because there are still new cases even if less than before.
I completed my training book on Tuesday. Yesterday I decided to take a break since I wasn’t sure what the next focus would be for whatever time I have before going back to work. I even watched some movies during the day. I usually just read after dinner. I got just a modicum of exercise.
I was going to get more today but had to go grocery shopping for a few forgotten items. We will see if I fit it in later. I did take some time to decide my next focus and decided that losing weight and getting stronger was going to be my primary focus. I will probably do some decluttering/cleaning since it fits in with upping my activity levels. However I didn’t get in that exercise yet today but we did get out and get some sun when we went shopping. We put down the windows and opened the sun roof. I feel tired after shopping I think because of wearing a mask. I was pleased to see everyone wearing a mask. That hasn’t been the case before when at the grocery stores. We had a county law requiring them that kicked in recently. People were being better at staying away from each other. By having the dairy+ deliveries, a back up fridge and meal planning we have cut down on shopping trips but we still can’t get them down as much as we should. Now our main fridge is showing signs of age as well. We realized it is about 15 years old even if it is newer than the one that died.
This morning my daughter had breakfast delivered from a favorite place when she saw they were open for takeout. I shared some for breakfast and we are having a healthy dinner – copper river salmon and chard. So it will be a low calorie day all in all.

Hi everyone! I would really love to join this group. I’m in two other groups, too, but I feel like this one is full of kindred spirits. I’ve been back on MFP since May after gaining and losing the same 40 lbs for the last nine years. I really want to get 60+ lbs off now for good. I have always been a tennis player and after knee surgery in Jan I’m still in PT and huffing and puffing lugging all this weight around. I want to get to my healthiest self for me, my kids, and for family and friends. Thank you for the support!

☀️ Calorie deficit every day. maybe, but I have no way of knowing because...
☀️ Log accurately nope
☀️ Exercise in some form every day nope
Things that aren't goals but need work:
💛 Finding out what my ideal eating schedule looks like working out okay. Pretty much skipping lunch should work
💛 Not eating off the baby's plate while I feed her 😂 nope
This week has been baaaad for compliance. Sleep has been terrible, so I've been hangry all the time, and I still haven't stopped snacking. So I know why I'm not seeing progress. I didn't (and don't!) expect that I've put on three pounds, though.
So just keep the deficit, log more accurately, do the things so that next week, I can't say the same as this week.
Have a great Friday everyone!9 -

Thanks everyone for your suggestions about snacking. I think what I really need to do is put locks on the cupboards and frig after supper!! LOL Seriously, I want to try making it a rule to eat NOTHING after 7 pm. It's difficult because I don't go to bed until midnight to 1 am. I'm going to try to leave a 150 deficit in case I do snack. If not used, it'll be a nice deficit to the day. I think I'll try the popcorn suggestion and have it on hand. Being crunchy and eating in small bites to make it last longer may help.
Thanks again!!6 -
@CupcakeCrusoe your addendum to your goals made me LOL this morning!
As for me, I had a weigh in fail this morning as my scale is kept on my (very crowded) dresser and when I went to grab it this morning, it fell behind the dresser. So, I'll pull it out this evening and weigh in tomorrow. Good grief.
Goals for the weekend:
*30 minutes of exercise every day.
*Meal prep breakfasts and lunches for the week.6 -
Friday Weigh In!
I hit my monthly goal already. Haha. Though vacation is in two weeks so it's probably good that I'm giving myself some wiggle room. I want to enjoy all the yummy vacation foods!!

The job hunt is moving along. I've got multiple interviews lined up so I'm hopeful I won't be unemployed for too long. Though, I must admit, it has been a welcome mental break. We got more rough news from the fertility clinic. I'm now on low dose steroids to get my DHEA-S in check and we found out I have the ovarian reserve of someone 10 years older than me. We're going to have to be aggressive with treatment. But we'll do what we can. I at least feel better that there is a plan in place.
@Daisyfinch90 Thank you for the words of encouragement. I'm definitely in need of them. Also, I am so sorry for your loss. I have been there and know how awful it is.
@changeforeverlj That's an amazing loss and you deserve to feel proud of it. I'm sure you look amazing.
@mmdeveau Thank you. It was a rough month, that is for sure. The clinic is giving us a bit of hope and we at least have a plan now. Also, congrats on going to the dentist. It is my least favorite place to be, so kudos to you!
I hope everyone has a wonderful start to June and has an awesome weekend!!9 -
A minor success to laugh about... I logged in here for my second day
A decent start to a long journey...12 -

Progress is progress! I’d like to be comfortably out of the 240s by the end of June, preferably around 237-238. I know incorporating exercise would help, I just need to find that inner motivation for myself. My step-kids are coming over for a long weekend and we’re generally quite active with them, so I know I’m going to get some movement in that way! I just need to keep it up by myself.
@smithmns414, good luck on the interviews! Sending you hugs with the fertility news.
@CupcakeCrusoe, you got this. Happy Friday to you!7 -

June Goals
☀️ Complete C25K (Next week!!)
☀️ Read 4 books per month (I am reading Thunderhead right now and listening to Just Mercy)
☀️ Close my Apple rings every single day
☀️ Find good snack alternatives
☀️ Eat a veggie or fruit with every meal
I had a really good May and surpassed my goal by a pound! I am also almost finished with C25k and I cannot believe it! I look forward to finally hitting that 5k and then continuing to build on that health activity. I am getting closer to onderland and I am so excited about that.
One thing I want to advise is to take pictures!! At the beginning of March I took a picture and then took another at the beginning of May and another today. My clothes do not feel too different yet, but those pictures!! I wore the same thing in each one and it is great to see that photographic change. There was a minute that I became discouraged that my double chin is still there, but then shifted to focus on the slimming down of my stomach and hips.
@tbax85 Welcome! It is a friendly bunch and just share as much or as little as you want! I am an extrovert with a lot of introverted tendencies! Cooking can be difficult especially during the summer! Maybe try to find ways to cook a big batch of things to use all week, like shredded chicken, ground taco meat, etc.
@changeforeverlj Oh, I am sure they will notice soon, even if they don't say anything. Sometimes people are just reluctant to comment on a person's appearance! Great job just the same!7
