@TerriRichardson112 - I logged in last night and skimmed the posts. Your comment about watering your plants made me remember to go water mine. Thanks for that.
@kuhl50 - I worked in the security industry in management for 20 years and never really got breaks. I used to think it was the industry. Now I work in the office of a LTC facility and we never get breaks here either. I don't know how it always ends up that way.
@bookmeister86 - It's nice to see you back. You've been waiting a long time for a new job. I hope the wait ends soon!
@littleblackskirt - 1.5 lbs is awesome. I am down a bit too, if I could stay away from the chips and get everyday in green I would be doing better more consistently.
@SERmom3 - That landscaping sounds like a workout. I see you are returning library books, our libraries are allowed to open on Friday. I found a new author while this has been going on so I'm hoping to get some of her older books to read now.
@maryrobinson40 - Do you get to eat today? I hope you have an amazing day to match the amazing person you are.
@pridesabtch - You did it! I'm so happy for you! I think a lot of people are realizing that work isn't all it's cracked up to be. I have never struggled going to work, I don't take sick days and very rarely take vacation unless i have something planned to do. I'm seriously struggling to get up and come to work each day. I truly hate it, not the work itself just the coming here daily.
Well I went for a 5K walk last night. I actually went a little over 5 and my pace was about a minute less than last week. We'll see how tonight goes, I'm not feeling the best and don't know if I'll have it in me to do.I am going through menopause I think. I hadn't had a period since February and all of a sudden started. It is causing excruciating cramps and I'm hoping its better by this evening. I have never suffered cramps in all of these years so I this is new and not fun!
I hope everyone has a great day.

I'm starting my new job next Monday - or at least I will be if HR ever get the contract sorted out. I'm having to exercise vast amounts of patience at the moment - my interview was the end of April and it STILL isn't all sorted. One of the reasons for the delay was actually a good one - the job I'm moving to was supposed to be a 12-month contract but my current boss kicked up a fuss about that because it meant that he could only recruit a 12-month person to replace me. The result has been that I'm getting a permanent role That's a good delay, the delay i'm now waiting for is just HR getting off their a%$ and sorting out the contract. Which really shouldn't be that hard, it just involves changing the name, salary and job title on the standard contract... but hey, everything takes ages in this place. Anyway, it WILL get sorted and I WILL be starting my new job soon!
Update: Wait is over - contract received AND SIGNED. (unlike HR, I do not faff around...) Starting new job on Monday! (Well actually, Wednesday, going to take Mon/ Tue off for a mini break).
A big relief to get it sorted and excited about getting started!
I neglected a pressing deadline to get this sorted today and as such will need to focus on that when I get up in the morning rather than posting. But I'll be back on Friday!
(FYI, at this stage no goals look like they're getting met... rain got in the way of walk and celebrations regarding job mean that meal plan is out and Dominos is in.... I'll get back on track after getting celebrations done though!)

I wasn’t able to edit my post today (something strange in my phone settings) but I wanted to add to my gratitude that I’m grateful for this thread and people like @snowflake1968 who carefully read and post specific comments on what we write. It makes me feel included and heard which helps my motivation. I’m sure many others on the thread feel the same!
@pridesabtch Congratulations! I hope you are intensely proud of yourself—we all are!💪🍾
@bookmeister86 How exciting! Best of luck as you transition over. Remember to be kind to yourself during this transition because even happy change disturbs our routines.
@cschmitz110515 Wow, a massage, I’m definitely jealous. I have no idea when those will open up again here, but I will be so happy when it’s safe to go get one. I have a favorite spa that is in an old house out in rolling hills (away from the city) with beautiful gardens. A heat treatment, a massage, and time meditating in the gardens is a yearly treat that I don’t know when (if) I’ll get to experience again. 😢5 -
Good morning everyone and good luck with today’s goals
@bookmeister86 Great news on your permanent new job. Enjoy your celebrations and mini break
@pridesabtch well done on the bike ride, you showed guts and determination.
@littleblackskirt congratulations on your weight loss

@Snowflake1968, hope you feel better soon. I think your chips are what we call crisps in the UK? I never used to eat them, but have been snacking on them some evenings now. If I buy them on that once a week shopping trip, then they're in the house!
@bookmeister86, glad you finally got the new job, you deserve it for all the efforts you put in!
@pridesabtch, well done on the bike ride, you showed a lot of determination to keep going.
@ZizzyBumble, hope you have a better day today.

JFT Wednesday 10th June
Log everything yes
Back exercises yes
Drink enough yes
Carry on with financial stuff. Raining so can't escape outside. yes, spent the afternoon on it. I'm slow because I don't really know how to do things on the computer programmes. For example, I spent at least 20 minutes trying to work out how to "digitally sign" a form so I could email it. It's all trial and error
I can stop writing "drink enough" as I'm drinking plenty being at home all day. I need to concentrate on fruit and veg instead, I'm blaming living alone now for some lazy choices for evening meals! Last night I had 5 crackers and cheese, logged it and it was 500 calories, more than a proper meal! I wasn't enjoying them very much, so only ate half. So take care of myself and eat proper meals.
JFT Thursday 11th June
Log everything
Back exercises
5 fruit and veg
Some jobs for parents
Walk
Carry on with finances

Hi all, yesterday went well with the new hire and she seems like she will hopefully be a good fit. Training takes up a lot of my time but in the long run it's going to be so helpful.

2. Get 4,000 steps minimum or 30 min of other activity😔

A successful fourth day of getting everything logged!
On to today's goal: log everything!

Pretty much a clean sweep of smiley faces yesterday. Exceptions: I didn’t get the miniPV fixed, and Coach told me to do an hour max for my walk (3.5miles) I even squeezed in a nap post walk.
I’m wicked tired today, and have a tedious work day ahead.
JFT Thursday (how can it only be Thursday)
- work by 8:00 😄
- Bring lunch 😁
- Protein bar for breakfast 😌
- Work on calibrations in area labs
- Get in 30-60min of activity today
- Log everything
- Stay green
- No cookies/candy/alcohol
- Bed by 11:30
Have a great day y’all!

Wonderful to see so many JFTers return to posting!
@bookmeister86 CoNgRaTuLaTiOnS on the new job! You have worked hard and long for this. Wishing you all the best!
@kuhl50 I feel the same about reading all the posts and specific comments ~ really helps me feel connected and motivated. The massage was wonderful (I love Andrea) but everything else was different. I was required to wear my mask, and my temperature was taken, along with the usual health questions nowadays (fever, cough, exposure, etc.). The locker room, showers, and sanctuary for relaxing in were all closed. Wore my mask for all but face down on the table, and Andrea wore her mask the entire time. I felt safe enough.
@pridesabtch Yay for your bike ride! The next time will be easier. You know you can do it.
@Snowflake1968 Well done that you walked 5K!

@bookmeister86 - Woohoo, you so deserve this new job you have been more than patient! Will this one get you the experience you were looking for to change career paths?
@kuhl50 - Thank you
@SERmom3 - I don't know how you parents are doing it. I don't think I would have been very successful homeschooling my girls. I was a terrible student myself so how would I make a great teacher?
@littleblackskirt - I think you're correct on the terminology of chips and crisps. When I previously was losing if I really wanted some I would go to the store and by myself a small bag. I've gotten in the habit of buying the big bag in the grocery shop. I need to stop that. I would not be having proper meals either in your situation. Laziness sure speaks loud doesn't it?
@cschmitz110515 - Our massage, physio, tattoo, etc types of business are opening this Friday. I talked to my daughter last night she is going to do my hair for me next weekend! I'll either go to her house or she'll come to ours. I'm so excited!
Speaking of my daughter, her and her husband came out last night to print off their brand new mortgage documents. As long as all goes well they will be moving into their first home on July 15th. I'm so very excited for them. My SIL works 1 full time job as an EMT, a second job where he averages 33 hours a week as a carpenter and he has a casual EMT position with the City Ambulance service. He rarely takes a day off and works very hard. They are moving to a lake community, their "street" is called Leisure Lane at the nearest crossroad is called Lazy Link, I told them maybe that will be a cue for him to relax once in a while. He is going to school in September to become a paramedic.
I am from New Brunswick and live in Alberta. All of our family is still in NB including my Mom who is in a nursing home there. I have not been home since 2016 and was planning on going in September. With all of this mess going on, I have been telling myself I wouldn't be able to go. Today the 4 provinces that make up Atlantic Canada where NB is located announced that they will be allowing inter-provincial between the 4 provinces in July, but they probably wouldn't be allowing other provinces to be included this year. I can go, but would have to self-isolate for 14 days when I arrived. Since I was only going for 10 days it makes no sense for me to go and stay in a hotel and not see anyone anyway. I understand it, but don't like it at all.
Well I should do some work.
Have a great day everyone!
