I started January 6 2020 at 245 pounds. My height is 5' 3". I'm counting calories and doing some strength training, since the weather warmed up I've been swimming. As of the start of this thread I've lost 53 pounds and am currently at 192. I started out at about 50% body fat, and right now I'm a little under 40% body fat. I started at BMI of 40 and now I'm at around 35. Muscle mass is currently 25.5 percent and hasn't dropped appreciably.
I'll update this thread as I make significant improvements.
Anyway, here's my starting picture, taken in the middle of 2019:

Next up, we have a picture from fairly early on in the process, late January to be specific. I'd lost ten pounds or so at that point.

Next, we have a picture from March 12 of this year. I lost most of my second chin! Sorry for how dark these photos are. The cat who photobombed the pic is my old man, Shinji, a lynx point Siamese mix who's somewhere between 14 and 17 years old.

Here's photos from today, June 18. The full body shot is really dark so I tried to get a better one of my face at least because I think there's a fairly sizeable (ha ha) difference.
If anyone wants to know more about my process I have a blog on MFP - personally I see a fair bit of difference between the photos and maybe these will be interesting to someone else. I think I'm roughly halfway through the weight loss process and my goal is to build more muscle as well as losing fat.

If anyone notices my house is messy and my hands are scratched up, here is why - two energetic kittens came to us recently. Hiroshi is the tabby and loves computers and carrying things. Nishiko is the calico girl and she loves cuddles. Shinji is the big guy mentioned above.

Thank you all for your kind comments. I weighed this morning - got the same weight but better breakdown than previously.
So my updated numbers as of this morning are weight: 292 pounds, body fat: 37.7%, muscle: 25.7, BMI 34.
My goal calories are 1400 plus half of exercise, and I sometimes come in lower than that. Scale says my basal metabolic rate is around 1920, so that's around right for weight loss. I'm 41 years old in a few days. I'll keep posting my progress on this thread as I go. I've never had the guts to set up my own progress thread before, ha ha!10 -
Great work, @Sand_TIger !2

Great to meet you! And thanks! *blush* I think one of the most important things is to really think about what your strengths and weaknesses are and then tailoring your plan for yourself to take advantage of that knowledge. :-)1 -
You are doing a fantastic job! I’ll keep watching for your updates. The best to you. Also, I love your fur babies1

Here's a little update - I'm currently waiting for the next "whoosh." I do have thyroid issues and a mild case of PCOS so new pics might be spaced out a bit.
I've been staying on plan, and recently realized I can properly touch my toes again, so I did a bunch the other day and gave myself DOMS. LOL. I didn't expect that at the time because they were so easy to do! It's happened before.
However the KITTENS are growing and putting on muscle so here's a picture of them from this weekend. They are 10 weeks old as of today. Nishiko is lagging behind her brother in growth though she's healthy, and Hiroshi has grown a very long and skinny whip tail. Seemingly all at once.

Way to go! I normally see your buddy updates, great to see all the progress! You are clearly working hard every day.2

Congrats, you look fantastic! I restarted after going back to work and gaining back all I lost in 2012. I am 5'3 and started at 242 in December, as of this morning down to 195. Never had a problem touching my toes since I stayed flexible even at my heaviest, just nice to see them without completely bending over now.2
