Did you lose anything besides weight?

Many people talk about what they’ve gained on their health journey and their loss of pounds/kg/stones. Have you lost anything along the way?
I’ve lost about 38 chins!

After losing 100 lbs, I lost my self doubt.

I've lost those skin folds on my back, above my love handles.
I've lost my inclination to wear loose fitting tops.
I've lost 90% of my wardrobe (well, the clothes are still there at the moment, but not wearable anymore!).
I've lost all the silly notions my mother planted in my head since my youth regarding weight (loss) and metabolism.
I've lost the possibility of receiving hand-me-downs from my mother (for years I was just a bit lighter than her, receiving the clothes that had become too small for her).34 -
I've finally lost that extra chin - hard to do because I have a naturally round face even when there isn't a bunch of extra around it. I've lost my patience and tolerance for junk food. I've lost the inability to touch my toes or scratch my own back. And I think best of all, I've lost a lot of excuses.25

I've lost the ability to celebrate.
Wait ... that sounds a lot sadder than it really is. Let me explain. What I really mean is that even though I still have lots of weight to lose, I've lost 60 lbs and it feels like my brain is already beginning to re-wire itself.
Father's day is coming up, and in my house that has always meant a giant ice cream cake and a steak dinner colossal enough to leave me swearing I'll never eat steak again (as if). It's just how Father's day has always been done. Until now. This year, I plan to skip the cake, fit a delicious 8 oz New York Strip into my calorie goals, and spend the day enjoying my amazing family. Not sad at all. In fact, I'm really looking forward to it ... but it's jarring to realize how many holidays I've traditionally celebrated by binge eating.59 -
I'm losing excuses left, right and centre.42

I've lost my ENTIRE wardrobe. Other than socks maybe, not one stitch of my clothing from a year ago is still in the house. SCORE!51

I lost my sedentary lifestyle! A whole lifetime and perfect record of inactivity wasted now that I’ve found my passion for trail running, so much so that I may never get it back!31

Ive lost my big appetite from reducing carbs.22

I’ve lost most of my age related aches and pains, which doesn’t mean that I’ve lost most of my weight yet. I’ve gained the regular daily practice of yoga. Weight changes are slow to follow. I’ve lost impatience about that.21

Pain! I was at my heaviest around... age 18? My feet hurt so much, it was this horrible almost burning pain whenever I had to spend more than maybe an hour on my feet (probably not helped by my choice in shoes). I am now 30, 30something kg lighter, and I pretty much never get that anymore, unless I literally spend the whole day on my feet in my flats (also, got close to it a few times if spending a day at a theme park, all that standing in lines hah - worth it tho)18

I lost over 100 lbs. After 15+years on a CPAP, my doctor ordered a new sleep study. I had two of the home ones that were "non-diagnostic." I had one at the sleep center. I lost my apnea diagnosis, and am no longer on the CPAP.54

An abusive ex, but that is not a loss, it is a gain, booyah!78

I lost the horrible pain in my lower back. I lost negative self talk. I lost thoughts that are limiting and tell me I can’t do something. I lost my silly ideas that aging means you have limitations and must accept those limitations. I lost my hermit behavior to just stay at home because I was ashamed of how I looked. Whew! It feels good to have all those burdens off me.30

What have I lost along with some excess weight:
1/A lot of aches and pains that I'd put down to age.
2/A layer of sensitivity to other people's opinions
3/A wardrobe of mixed size clothes. If I regain the weight, I'll have to become a nudist!18 -
I lost the idea that a toddler mom in her 40s has to "take it easy." Since eating healthier and incorporating physical activity into my day, I'm finding that I have the same energy level as 19 years ago when I gave birth to my oldest daughter. I am able to keep up with my very-active 2 year old!38

Boobs. Entirely. Not that I had much to start with, but I am down to nothing. No regrets, though! LOL
I also lost nearly 2 shoe sizes and some width off my feet. Weird!33 -
I lost the notion that I was ‘not a fit person’
I lost a few drinking buddies. Well, not totally lost but I don’t spend as much time with them.17 -
I lost a lot of clothes from the spare room wardrobe which I had saved since 1991 which is when I suddenly gained weight.
They fit me again now but they really did look 20+ years out of date.20 -
I also lost all my clothes. I kept one T-shirt as seeing myself in it was the catalyst for the new me!24

Same for me! I lost a toxic ex-husband. I may not have lost a lot of weight yet, but it feels like I lost 250+ pounds by divorcing him. There are way more things that I gained, though!31 -
I lost the ability to sit still.
I lost the ability to say “I can’t do that”, and instead imagine finding ways in which I can. As one of my yoga instructors said once,”visualizing yourself doing it often gives the same reward as accomplishing it. “. I didn’t understand that until I realized that one leads directly to the other.14 -
My sanity...... but now I am learning logic..... this for that I guess...10

Image checks out.
I lost my ability to be mindless about what I'm eating. Even when I eat over maintenance, I am doing it consciously.18 -
I lost feeling sorry for myself, I feel great now and my self esteem is so much better.18
-
I lost: my boobs! Like WTH still had plenty of hips to lose but oh no the boobs left instead. Lol
And I lost the notion that "I'm just big boned".20 -
Some chins.
2 shoe sizes. :[
The ability to feel warm.
My camera shyness.
My fear of the gym.
All of my dresses.
It's been a mixed bag.19 -
I personally don't relate to a "health journey" or the like in the sense of being over weight or inactive by life style. My life started with the love of training and performing physically over 40 years ago. I've always had interest in being the best I could be.
Though there was a time I've experienced not being able to walk for months and pain 24/7 for the past decade or so and I know what it feels like to hit a wall from health issues that couldn't of been prevented at least from a "health journey" if that makes sense.
One thing I have gained was the interest of helping others and hopefully having a hand in changing the quality of life for some people.
Teaching self efficacy to person and watch them change their own life without depending on others is pretty neat thing for me.
