Yesterday I was able to enjoy a very small sliver of birthday cake and not feel like I needed to eat the whole thing. This is a huge win for me!25

Just cleaned out all my size 12 pants! Hello size 10!
***Anyone in or around Aurora CO need pants?***19 -
Yesterday I went for a trail ride, when I got to the park I realized that I had left my key to my bikes lock at the house. So not to waist a 30 minute drive one-way I went for a hike instead. Once on the trail I decide to take a slow jog, before I knew it I did a 5k trail run on rather rugged terrain and in combat style boots, to boot!
Pardon the pun, it was all in good fun.

I fit back in my rain jacket! Very comfortably and much sooner than I expected. I only tried it on today wistfully because we've been having thunderstorms, and I thought, "How much longer until I can zip this up again?" The answer TO MY SURPRISE is "No time at all, and you can fit a sweater under it too." I needed a win today and I GOT IT!32

I was finally able to do an unassisted pullup! Just straight up strength!31

I put on my fitbit today, and my resting heart rate spent some time at 53 BPM, athlete range!

I was pedaling home from a round of disc golf and I happened upon a neighbor I haven't seen in a while. Last time was shortly after pandemic fears started. He was recently put in a high risk category, and he can't even get treatment for now, so he's been holed up.
We chatted a while, and he said I was looking good, that I lost some weight. I mentioned that was in 2018, but he clarified that whatever I'm doing is working because I look more fit. I still see jiggly bits in the mirror, and I'm still just a tiny (tiny) bit heavier (and fatter according to my BIA scale) than I want, but maybe I have been slowly recomping the last 24 months.13 -
Last week I reached my highest weekly (Monday to Sunday) step count since I started my weight loss journey a year ago:
123503 steps, which is 17643 steps on average per day.
And if I count Saturday to Friday, to coincide with my week abroad on holiday, it's up to 139304 steps in total.
And not just any steps, my holiday included 56km/35 miles of hiking.
Hiking is sooo much easier after losing 20kg/44lbs (and counting) and exercising more. I didn't fully grasp how unfit I was before, as it had been a very gradual deterioration over more than 10 years.22 -
Yesterday was a tough day for me. I was so cranky and fed up with work related things I could have easily slid back into my old ways of eating my feelings. Instead, I wrote in my private blog, stuck to my calorie limit and made sure to exercise. I am so proud of myself for not giving in. I just know this time around is going to be different.23

So uhm. On Sunday I did a YouTube video 3000 steps in 26? Minutes. And about⅔ of the way I realized 3000 steps a day used to be my goal and I found it hard to get even that.
Mind you, this was a few years ago. But my health has improved so much, even with the weight gain. I just got my new fitness tracker and I'm hoping to see major differences between the last time I had one and now. My stomach may be fatter but I can do so much more than I could then! Hoping to get more stamina and less fat 💁🏼♀️ I've been working hard for that sooo it should happen16 -

Hiking for sure, and even just walking!
A couple weeks ago, I took three of my lead SCUBA belts that totaled just under 30 pounds, strapped them on, and went for a very short walk. I could feel it immediately in my knees. To think I was carrying that much more of ME around 100% of the time a few years ago. A few months ago, I put on an 8-pound belt and went for a longer walk. My knees even felt that much extra weight.
Next time you see one of these, pick it up and schlep it around for a while. You will thank yourself that you don't have to!

I just checked my resting heart rate and it's averaging around sixty beats per minute. It's a great thing for me and is on the low end of healthy range, edging toward athlete territory.12

Completed a first time 20 mile bike ride. I couldn't have done this when I was heavier.

Fit into skinny jeans I didn't expect to fit me until fall, 1 size smaller!22

Today a girl I work with brought peanut butter cornflake cookies. It was sooo good! But I was perfectly content having just 1 cookie. Typically I would have eaten quite a few more so I feel like that was progress!28

I have a pair of non stretchy shorts with a pockets and a drawstring. Last year the pockets were a bit stretched whenever I wore them, since it was a super tight fit. Yesterday I realised that I will soon have to retire them - the drawstring can’t be tightened much more due to the excessive bunching of fabric!!21

During my workout I had a teenager come up and say, "You are awesome. You're here 3 or 4 days a week and you workout HARD while you're here. I hope I'm just like you when I'm your age". I smiled and told him, "Well you'll find out in about 40 years".28

This is a bit of a scale related NSV, but here goes: I have been a bit frustrated because I can't seem to get below 82 kg (181 lbs). But I then looked at my average weight over May, June and July and saw 87.15 kg, 85.31 kg, 83.14 kg. That made me feel way better!

As of today, I've walked 100.5 miles in July. 23 recorded walks. Never thought I would be this consistent in hitting the trails during probably the hottest month of the year here in Northern Virginia, but I was happy that I was able to hit that milestone. The speed has been gradually increasing as well which I'm excited about!16

I was back in the pool for the first time in 7 months and did 50 minutes of laps! I was so surprised I was able to do that after being away for so long. I’m so happy with my swim and I feel great!16

Same. I didn't have a weight scale at home but I knew my weight. Over the months, I worked hard. I thought it should've dropped to at least 65 kgs but I was 67 when I checked on my new weight scale. It had me down but then I thought back that I had lost almost 6 kgs. Instead of feeling down, I'm back on track 😄10 -
I'm in a new number.. 169.8. I will take it. I don't know what it is about seeing that new number but it charges me up to keep living my best life. Wishing you all a wonderful weekend and lots of losses or muscle building, or keeping it off.12

The bra I sized down into (because the old size was giving me a backache from lack of support) had been cutting into me by the end of the day, and I was always glad to get it off. It wasn't in need of an extender, it was just tight.
It didn't cut me yesterday, just stayed in place and did its job. That's a sign I like!
(Of course now I'm thinking of ordering a band size down because I know that suddenly I'll get aches in my upper back and need it. I'm not a small-busted woman; I started from an F cup. )

A while back I covered up our full length mirror with a pretty scarf. It moves aside easily for use but then also easily covers back up so that I can’t absentmindedly check for progress 1,000x per day.
I wouldn’t have said I was obsessive, I don’t check myself out in windows and such when walking by places...but this mirror at home!? What the what.
NSV’s:
1. How lovely that one simple change was. Freed up some mental rumination.
2. I’ve been noticing my shorts fitting differently, looser.
3. Decided to use the mirror for more than just a daily “do I have coordinating clothes on” sort of thing. THE MOTHER’S APRON IS GONE. GONE I TELL YOU!!! I truly am PROUD of what my body has done with having 3 babies. I am also HELLA excited that this is shrinking! Most of the lower part was excess loose skin from giant babies in a short torso (ahem. It hangs over your underwear line....which is why it’s called an “apron” ) I had no idea if it actually would shrink.
4. Noticing this difference was huge and the joy of it was made even better by default since it had been so long since I covered up that mirror. The visible comparison was drastic and the shock factor was high. I’ve been riding this wave of excitement for like a week before I finally decided to share it here26 -
my stretch marks are getting lighter!!:)14

I was able to swim a full 30 minutes. Last time I wasn't even in the water that long, let alone doing laps. I'm pretty sure tonight and tomorrow I won't be able to do anything from fatigue but I did it and I'm super happy I got so far. Hoping next week I'll be able to swim more/longer14

I race time trials on my bike. We have a regular weekly club race and over the last 5 years I've raced it 35 times. This week was my first race of the year due to covid, and I got an all time PB by 90 seconds which is huge, mainly due to weight loss and consistent training.14
