I felt I needed to update this. I got down to 162 as my lowest and just kind of hung out there for a few years. Last year my dad got sick and passed away. I sold my house and moved in with him and my mom to be my dad's caretaker. Then I was in limbo after he passed and my family (husband and 2 kiddos) decided we should move to Florida from where we were in New Mexico. We rented Airbnb's waiting for the kids to finish school so we could make the move. I had regained about 15lbs at this point but I wasn't too worried. Then quarantine hit. Stress eating put on another 15 lbs. I was at 195. We did make the move to Florida and are living on an island with a 10 minute walk to the beach from our home. I'm now down to 187lbs and swim daily. It's disheartening to have to relose what I had already worked so hard to lose before but knowing that I had already done it made me resolve to get out of the funk I've spent the past year in. More than losing weight I want health. I have fibromyalgia and my dad passed away of heart failure. (He was 82 so not young but I miss him desperately) and I want to be my healthiest self this time not my thinnest self. It's different this time eating for health rather than eating for taste. Food is fuel. It can be medicine. I'm weaning off my pain meds and am hoping clean eating will do more to help me manage my fibro. This is long and rambling but I came across my old post and saw the old me. Just wanted to be skinny and hot lol. Now I just want to be healthy, mentally and physically20

Good luck with your new beginnings, and much sympathy on the loss of your father. It is so hard to understand what losing a parent means until it happens.3

Wonderful - thank you.... You are indeed inspiring!

By coincidence I just logged on to success stories for the first time ever today so I just followed your whole journey in one sitting! You have grown in wisdom and are now more than just the hot.babe. Now you’re the hot babe (I’m sure you still look awesome) with even more inspiration to share. Write a book! Or a blog. Or a podcast. Sorry. I’m worse than Emma when it comes to planning other people’s lives. Anyway, you rock.1

I'm so very sorry for your loss; I know the pain of losing a parent AND moving to Florida....you are such an inspiration. I've been such a slacker since the pandemic ~ used to walk 2 miles every day, but not in this heat and humidity, ugh. Thanks to you, I just dusted off my exercise bike and vow to ride it every day for as long as I can stand it, and YES to low carb! I sooooo, so agree that food is medicine. Thank you for the update and for being just what I needed today!2

Your story is so inspiring. I too have set deadlines for myself and it's true that is just sets you up for failure, so I'll remind myself of what you said the next time I am tempted to do that. I also love how you got fed up and tossed out the gummies. That is how I quit smoking decades ago...I tossed the rest of a pack of cigarettes out the car window while driving (and coughing) and that was the end of my smoking. Keep up the good work. You're an inspiration!1
